Really enjoyed our visit! I love the creativity of flipping a business for a different purpose in the evenings, and Sunday Social has done a great job of it!! The cocktail menu is fun (though a little high priced), the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was lovely. The waitstaff was also very helpful and considerate. This past Saturday night they had a saxophone player performing, which gave a smoking room/jazz club type vibe. Think green velvet, mood lighting, and date nights. Will definitely be back!

Food was delicious and so was the atmosphere. Drinks were tasty. Best dish was the lentil soup

This is spacious bar in outer side of heights. It is designed well, nice service, drinks are not super expensive. I enjoyed the drinks along with bar snacks. They have reverse happy hour which makes drinks cheap for high quality drinks. I recommend this bar if you want somewhere not too crammed and quiet, it has a romantic vibe in my opinion.

I've been to Sunday press coffee but I had no idea it was a cocktail bar at night! lol This place has great social vibes! I saw many groups of girls chatting it up, as well as individuals with their laptops and headphones in doing work and enjoying a drink. The drinks are absolutely delicious! (But pricey so beware) I didn't get anything to snack on but next time I will definitely try those truffle fries for sure! The girls working were super nice and I'm really glad I went because I really enjoyed myself there. Pay this place a visit if you haven't!

It's a standout in Garden Oaks for its stylish interior, creative drinks (hello Espresso Martini and Aperol Spritz), and appealing bar bites under reverse happy hour pricing.

Waited too late to book reservation so got bar seating but it was just fine and service was great. Upon arriving we were so nicely greeted by the hostess, felt very welcome. Our cocktails were very good--and Old Fashioned and a "Crime!". For a starter we had the aka obi, then the endive salad (best I've had!) and for entrees we shared the shrimp and the whole striped bass which is butterflied. For dessert we got the Basque Cheesecake and it was heavenly. Baso has quickly become my favorite high-end restaurant in the Heights. The portions are nice and the flavors are outstanding. We left beyond satisfied and looking forward to our next foodie adventure at Baso.

This is a bit of a dated review, but we came here for a Valentine's dinner as a special occasion. We got seats at the bar counter behind the fire (which to me was the best seat in the house) so we could be close to the action. One thing you'll notice is that the place is quite loud, I think which owes to the low ceilings (so don't expect like a quiet and romantic vibe). The meal started out great with the bread and butter - bread was sourced from Magnol, which was a huge green flag to start. The oysters were extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. We also had a dish with tuna over crispy rice which was my fiancee's favorite of the night. My personal favorite was the salad (I know that is crazy to say at a restaurant that specializes in live fire cooking) - but the way they zested all different types of citrus/lemons, peppers, chiles, and the way the herbs they put into it, created what was one of the most memorable salads I have ever had. All in all the food was excellent. Service was great (the night we were there, Max Lappe was there sending out food to customers himself). I do kind of wish the atmosphere was a little more quiet. With that said, expect to spend around $200pp (we did share a bottle of wine though).

I was so excited to try Jun on the heels of their impressive win of James Beard's Best Restaurant 2026 award, and my foodie friend and I eagerly embarked on the journey through their tasting menu. Alas, the trip turned bitter... multiple times. On the bright side, service was gracious and attentive, and I was impressed with our server's knowledge of the menu and prep details. And we actually kicked the meal off on a promising note with 2 highlights. The espresso martini was STELLAR and easily one of the best I've had. I was also dying to try the oysters (oysters + beef tallow = yes please!) that were not on the tasting menu, and the flavors were wonderfully complex: briny, savory, with a delightful kick from the chili oil. I couldn't wait for the rest of this meal! Unfortunately, we found every single course that followed to be decidedly underwhelming. Their tamales' flavor was flat, and its lack of any filling was disappointing though the chicken skin on top was tasty. The skin on the fish was flavorful, but the flesh was unremarkable and could have been saved with a sauce or even a brown butter bath. The bitterness in the brisket course was overpowering and off-putting, and the carrots also tasted bitter. The dessert course was split: the bitterness continued into the doughnuts, which was unpleasant, but the cheese flan was delicious. The restaurant itself is a tasteful mix of industrial chic elements, and the dining room space is on the quaint side. Parking is a bear as is the case with too many restaurants in The Heights, and there is no valet so plan accordingly. My friend and other patrons had to drive around and lurk for 10 minutes until class at the neighboring workout studio let out and opened up some spaces. Curb your expectations here... something someone should never have to do an award-winning restaurant.
