I've been to Bungalow Heights a handful of times. It's near a few other bars (which makes for a fun day of bar hopping). On one occasion, a friend of mine ordered chicken wings and said they were bland. As if that weren't bad enough, some of the wings were undercooked! I've never ordered food and probably never will after seeing those undercooked wings. What I will order, is one of their creative craft cocktails! I don't think I've had a cocktail at Bungalow that I didn't like. The menu changes often. The prices range from $12-14 which isn't bad compared to other craft cocktail bars around town. On my last visit, I had the Bailey's Salted Caramel Cold Foam Espresso Martini. This drink was extremely boozy! I didn't realize the cold foam was infused with Bailey's. The first sip nearly took me out! The drink itself was very good and the coffee flavor was prominent. The caramel and cold foam elevated the drink and I could honestly drink a NA version of this because it tasted like a fancy latte. They have a nice selection of craft beers on draft as well as canned and bottled beer. There's also wine and THC seltzer. The inside is spacious. The large tables are perfect for groups. They also have a patio with swings and rocking chairs that wraps around the building. Bungalow has their own parking lot with a decent number of spaces. Depending on the time, the lot may be valet. On my last visit, I got to the bar around 3:45 pm on a Saturday and was able to self park for free. At some point (either 4 or 4:30 pm) it turned to valet only. My friend self parked and still had to pay the valet (I think it was $10). They do monitor the lot, so only park there if you're planning to patronize the business.

It's a lively vibe. Off the back, Bungalow Heights has its own parking which is free before 2 or 3PM and then there's valet only around 4 or 5PM. Once inside, the seating is spacious from outside seating on a beautiful day to inside areas. I've visited before, but have missed leaving a review, you know, bar nights are different than brunch and early afternoon visits. Enjoyed coming right at the cusp of brunch ending, I didn't eat, but had drinks and I was impressed. I started with a pineapple mimosa carafe and the champagne used in it was so smooth, I wish I had asked what they used so I can make my own at home, but guess that's part of the draw. For my second drink, the Love Me Not, vodka based cocktail, maybe it was a new drink, I noticed the bartender ask about making it and he looked at a sheet to verify the ingredients. I was skeptical at first, but he proved to make it well. It was refreshing and not overly sweet. For my last drink I thoroughly enjoyed the Bailey's Salted Caramel Cold Foam Espresso Martini and it was Dairy Free! It is house made espresso martini with their twist on it. If you enjoy espresso martini's you'll enjoy how the salted caramel with the almond milk liquor and spiced rum blend harmoniously with the vodka and coffee liquor. The balance of flavor of mine was spot on, not too much coffee and not too much added sweetening. My friend Jason got the Hangover Nachos which you get choice of waffle fries, fries, tots or tortilla chips with toppings and a fried egg. I only tried a morsel of the waffle fry with the toppings and thought it was good. Nothing stood out on my bite, so likely needed some seasoning or salt. Overall, it can get loud as it is good place for groups to gather, affordable prices, the music keeps you dancing, the staff was mostly friendly and they had a bar back going around maintaining the cleanliness of the place.

A solid bar in the Heights, but they also have a pretty solid kitchen. We went early before it was prime "bar time." Their $5 happy hour draft beers and $8 happy hour cocktails + two burgers was a great deal. I had the mushroom Swiss burger with tots. Burger was pretty decent and the tots were delicious!

Overall my cousins and I had a great time. Food was good, wait staff was friendly & it was a great atmosphere that had bingo on a sunday, dogs and children have an outside play area. The bathroom was clean. The sitting after a while sitting on the wood can hurt a bit but maybe it is just me. I myself would come back & try it again.

Definitely a Bungalow. Went for lunch with 2 friends on a Friday at 11 am. They open at 11 am so only one other table and minimal front staff. Aesthetically the interior is nice. There is also patio seating but it was a bit cloudy when we first arrived. The menu is a mix of Americana style food. They have a small lunch menu. The order between the 3 of us: big ass pretzel, boudin balls, wings, lunch burger + street corn, lunch salad and chicken tenders. Big Ass Pretzel (3.5/5) - super large and super salty: 2 dipping sauces - pretzel was warm and soft and big. One sauce went well with the pretzel, the other sauce was a heavy mustardy sauce and no. (I am a minor fan of mustard) Boudin balls (3/5) -crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the boudin part was somewhat bland so kind of needed the sauce which was nice with a slight kick Wings (3.5/5)- medium, mildly spicy, very buffalo sauced, wings cooked nicely, good size wings too Burger (4/5) - patty was cooked perfectly, nice bun - pickles were trash (unsure why but they did not taste like any pickle I had ever had) but overall good Street corn (1.5/5) - sorry but no - I just didn't enjoy it, the corn wasn't cooked through - at least 1/2 of kernels were still fairly hard and the overall taste just wasn't impressive to me My friend enjoyed her lunch salad which was huge. The veal as looked super fresh. My other friend said the tenders and fries were ok. One of his tenders was a bit hard fried on the ends but he said it was the standard tenders and fries They did share an order of beignets and said those were good. Our server was great. She was friendly, helpful and checked on us without being overbearing. They have a decent size parking lot but the spaces are smalllllllllll. The prices are reasonable and they have a full bar and TVs (sports). And it looked like they may have a live band on certain days as we saw a band setting up on the patio.

I've always enjoyed going to this place either if it's for a casual drink, date night, hangout with friends, or a simple meal. Located right off 19th street in the heights. They have their own parking lot and street parking. The area has other amenities to walk around too. They have a great happy hour Monday to Friday 4pm to 7pm with $8 bungalow cocktails, $5 house wine and $5 drafts. They have daily specials as well. I really enjoy their half price burgers on Wednesdays from 5pm to 10pm. Their food is decently priced and I've enjoyed the food items I've gotten. No complaints on my end. The service is quick and easy. I also enjoy their koozies. I have collected many of the colors. I can't wait to go back.

I come here frequently for post-work drinks since I work close by and I wanted to come finally leave a review after several positive experiences here. You can order at the bar or they also come by the table for service. They are always so nice and attentive here! We love ordering the chambongs here, they are so fun and reasonably priced! They have a pretty big selection of specialty cocktails and I have tried a couple and they are all delcious. My favorite is the "I can't even" which is a tequila based drink with jalapenos. Spicy and refreshing! Most recently my friend and I ordered the loaded nachos but with fries instead of nachos to snack on. I was so impressed by this plate!!! We chose chicken for our protein and it was so tender, juicy and flavorful. Normally bars like these do not have quality food and I am telling you this is the best plate of loaded fries I have ever had. Thats it, thats the review!

After having a drink at a neighboring place and not loving it, we decided to pop over to Bungalow Heights for dinner and another drink. When we arrived, we looked at the drink options and settled on beer and wine. While there, I also tried the frozen aperol spritz which was unique and something to try if you like aperol spritz drinks. As per the usual, its a upscale casual atmosphere and a pleasant place to hang out. As the restaurant was so empty, we decided to just sit at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and happy to make suggestions on food items. We decided to order the chicken quesadilla and the hot crispy chicken sandwich. Both of us enjoyed the meals and thought they were well made but weren't WOW'd with the item/ wouldn't likely order them again. The quesadilla was served with pico, sour cream and black beans which was nice as well. All in all, we'll be back but would likely try other dishes next time.

Checked out Bungalow for the second time last night and the verdict is in, I like this place ! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Nice decor. Southernly charmed patios. Refreshing a/c. Good looking people, cute dogs. Not too busy on a Saturday night, but not at all dead and boring. Great r&b, hip hop popish music from the '00s & '10s that reminded me of great times I've had in my college and yesteryears. They have food. I had a few bites of a friend's fried chicken. It was tender and well seasoned. Another friend had wings and complained that they weren't thoroughly cooked and were very bland. They did look bland and not very appealing. Service was good, fair. A nice place to relax and enjoy time with friends. Parking is free and EZ if you arrive at a reasonable time which is a major htown bonus. Great place!

    Big Ass Pretzel... last portion
    Michelle B.

My coworkers and I went today for lunch thinking the area wouldn't been too busy. It wasn't at lunch times. Three other tables that we could see sat in an otherwise empty restaurant. Big open air great. However, this quickly turned into a fairly long lunch with the service we received. The Exec chef was the saving grace in making sure that we got the drinks along with food. He took our orders along with followed up with drink orders. I hope the waitress was truly just having an off day. Otherwise I hope they turn counter service even on week days. The use of slow dough bread was great. The street corn was lacking any salt. Meanwhile the big ass pretzel had beyond enough salt as pictured. The queso order was fairly disappointing in size. The overall time it took us was over a hour and half for primarily sandwiches.

First off, Bungalow Heights has a large parking lot compared to most places in the Heights. It's located in a cluster of bars across from Cedar Creek and Wicklow. Drift and McIntyre's is down the street. I've been here about 3-4 times now. There's plenty of indoor seating. There's a small outdoor section with TVs to catch sports games. I like the swing area, but there aren't any TVs around. The sampler has great dipping sauces and a variety of appetizers. I went once for steak night, and the ribeye and cubed potatoes were seasoned well. They put too much dressing on the Caesar salad. I'd ask for it on the side next time. The street corn side was ok, but the bell peppers and onions overpower a traditional elote. I liked the fried green tomatoes. It had a good breading , but the tomato would slip completely out of it. They don't serve a huge portion. The ranch is good. I had the Green With Envy cocktail which is gin and cucumber. It was so refreshing that I had two. Service was great. They brought us extra menus outside when we only grabbed one. The QR code has the drink options. Hannah served us last night, and she had her Bama cap on. Naturally, my friend greeted her with "Roll tide". She was so nice and attentive. We chatted with her a bit about the Bama rush documentary. She wants to be a PT. As an OT, I wished her well and hope that she gets into the program she wants! Overall, it's a nice place to grab a drink, eat, and watch a game.

There was a gentleman working on the flooring, furniture being disassembled and lots of construction equipment outside. The seeming owner or manager reassured us to come in, however as soon as we took a seat we learned that they closed at 10pm. Ironically there was a young man assembling a large sign that states "open until 10pm" to prop outside. The bartender offered to make us a drink and since we had driven here just for this spot (I would call it a coffee shop and not really a bar), we agreed. The Carajillos were $15 and sadly, batched. You're able to bring in your own food as well, but we came here for Tuesday Steak night from Modestos Grill. $30 for a ribeye + choice of potato or salad. The salad was actually quite a large portion and potato was baked nicely and came with all the fix'ns. Steak was seasoned really well and cooked to my preference of medium. Quality of the steak isn't the best, but not bad. Drinks at Kirby Ice House was pretty pricy. Lots of outdoor seating and large screens. Pet friendly! So bring your dogs/furbabies! Parking - Plenty within their own lot Staff - Were friendly and helpful and attentive

Upon visiting here, it's about the same size as Memorial IMO but still has the same touch and vibes that makes the Memorial location pretty dope. Obviously you're here for drinks, sports, or a combination of the two. There's plenty of parking here and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also live up to the whole "longest bar in Texas" where there is a 100+ foot bar area that stretches. There's plenty of tvs inside and outside so you can find any type of sports you're looking for as you guzzle down your beverages. Speaking of beverages, there's roughly 30+ beers on tap and just about every kind of spirit you can think of. Self-serve water coolers are available when you need to hydrate yourself if you've had one too many drinks. There's also a food truck here for eats with rotations (check the website for the schedule). It's pet friendly as well and they have drink specials every day. Bartenders are pretty attentive; I've never had issues getting a drink here, even when it's gotten slammed for NFL sunday or college football. Glad this is in my neck of the woods for sports watching and drinking.
