Unfortunately, this establishment was mediocre in my opinion. Ambiance -3.5 out of 5 Cute place inside, but lacking something. The bar was huge and literally only a handful of people were there. The decor lacked charm and warmth. I did not see the outside since the hostess kindly informed us that there were several children outside. But the pictures of the outside looked lovely. Service -3 out of 5 The server quickly greeted us but she was a little off. She stated her name but was looking away from us when she did it. She'd bring our food and then disappear for a while. Wouldn't be a huge issue if we had everything we needed like silverware, salt and paper shakers. Overall, she just wasn't pleasant. She wasn't rude but kind of serious. Perhaps she was tired. Food -2.5 Here was the biggest problem. The food was really just mid, basic, average, etc. we ordered the pasta Bianco with Salmon. Salmon was cooked well but was bland. The burrata pizza was also okay but came out lukewarm along with the pasta. This also contributed to the overall meh feeling with this food. Overall this place shows promise but it missed the bar. Unfortunately, for us, first impressions are vital since this city has so many good restaurants. So we likely will not be back.

Lovely spot in the heights! I love the vibe here, the patio, the private room for large parties. Pizza however is just 'okay'. My party and I came here and found the pizza to be fairly mediocre. We had the Taleggio Florentine, Shady Acres, The Caliano, and the San Fran. Out of the four, we found the Caliano to be the best with the grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, smoked gouda all complimenting each other with honey siracha and home made ranch. Truffle fries and tipsy calamari were great shareables for us and we thoroughly enjoyed those. Our server was extremely friendly and very patient with our large group that walked in. I think for the pizza and the price, it's a okay place overall but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Nice outdoor seating allowed with dogs. Excellent pizza and the crust was crispy with a chew. We meatballs were a little bland. Fries were crispy. Calamari was crispy and the jalapeños had some def heat to them. Would def come back for more pizza.

What a lovely little spot to enjoy a lunch or happy hour in the heights. You cannot bit this spot for lunch. I enjoyed a very generous "personal" sized pizza and a side salad off of the lunch menu. It was tasty and I had some to take for dinner as well. The space -- casual, spacious dinning area with a large bar area that would be suitable for families or date night. The patio also looked nice! The food - a great value for the price point. Parking -- a small to moderate sized lot but could also easily find street parking if full. Overall, great lunch vibes. Happy to have found this spot!

The service was good here but the food and drinks were underwhelming. We had a party in the private room which was nice. They were out of some of the ingredients for my sister's drink so she had to get another option. She didn't really enjoy the second drink but did not want to bother the waitress. The drink i had was disgusting so I ordered a drink I typically drink at other restaurants. It was ok but I could have done without it. The chicken parm dish was sweet and had a nutmeg flavor which was weird. The shrimp and polenta was a tad bit salty but it was flavorful. My little cousin did not like her pizza and didn't get her nuggets until we were done eating. It was my sister's 50th birthday celebration and we now know why the minimum spend was so low.

We came in a big group of 4 families on Sunday around 11 am for brunch. The parking lot was spacious. It was my first time and we came for a Bingo event. The server was super awesome and patient with all the kids. Thankfully there is an outdoor patio area where the kids burned off some energy while waiting for the food. We got the kids cheese pizza which was enjoyed by all of them. I got the Brewer's Breakfast with avocado instead of sausage and scrambled eggs. It was really delicious & finished the whole entree. The flapjacks were perfectly fluffy. The women's restroom was very clean and I saw private rooms that could definitely accomplished a gathering. I would definitely come back.

Holy WOW!!!!! Crisp is where it's at! We came here in a whim for my wife's birthday because her usual fav was closed on a Monday. I'm so thankful we did! Our server, Devin (hope I spelled it correctly) took time out to give us his personal recommendations for each section of the menu. And I just say, he was ON POINT! My wife and grandmother had lemon drops, while I had their old fashion. The bartender knows his stuff btw! We started off with a great recommendation of the BAKED TEXAS GOAT CHEESE & MARINARA w/Drunken Garlic Flatbread and it was freakin AMAZING! Holy cow! Next, my wife and I both had the recommended CHICKEN D' ANGELO! And it was great! Super crispy and WELL SEASONED! Lastly, her grandmother had the CHICKEN & MUSHROOM FETUCCINI ALFREDO which she loved and deff had leftovers. Overall, Devin served us the highest of quality services knowledge, and food. He made sure we were knowledgeable and understood what we were getting. He made the experience better than what i thought it would be and for that, I give CRISP a solid 5/5 for food, ambiance and service! I'll be back!

Wife and I took some friends for their first visit to Crisp. As always Crisp and the staff never disappoint. Our waiter was great and very tentative through the evening. We were there well after closing and no rush was put on us. Our waiter and the staff were more than accommodating and very patient with us. My wife had the San Fran pizza and I had the beef melting short ribs. Both were amazing and the beef melting short ribs are highly recommended. Great job Crisp and a big thank you to the staff.

Date night on a Friday in mid July in the week of hurricane Beryl. We made a reservation on OpenTable and were seated promptly when we arrived. The location is welcoming with the restaurant located in a nice neighborhood near Ella blvd and the interior is inviting with smells of garlic, mozzerella, and wine. The restaurant was somewhat packed although a couple tables remained open when we arrived. As a modern italian restaurant, there's an extensive wine list and plenty of pizza, pastas, salads, and entrees available. Wines available by the glass are aplenty with a few italian wines available. For appetizers, the arancini is a great option with the orange/thyme vinagrette that gives a sweet citrus flavor to the saffron herbs. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad which is garnished with a toasted parmesan and anchovie on top. For entrees, my girlfriend ordered the eggplant fetuccini and I ordered the shady acres pizza with chicken. The pasta was tender although a bit watery with the sauce; my girlfriend nonetheless enjoyed it. The pizza had good flavor with the mushrooms and veggies with the sauce. The texture was a bit chewy but I'd order the pizza again. Service-wise, there were times were we had to flag our server down for things including silverware and plates for the appetizer and to share the pizza. They were attentive when we sat down upon entering but after our first drink order, it seemed they forgot about us. I also didn't get my second glass of wine (ordered after finishing the appetizer) until after we were nearly done with our food. Not sure if they are short-staffed or if it was the effects of Beryl but service didn't have the urgency we were hoping for. It's a shame because the food is really solid. I'd be open to trying this place again with other pizzas and some of their pastas. And definitely need to try the happy hour.

The brunch pizza was something I didn't know that I needed. The flavor was great. The crisp hash browns on top were great. The Greek was decent too. The sausage and veggies were good. Overall they were both items I'd order again. The server was polite. He got samples where I said I'd try my friends. The drinks were always full. Whether water or alcoholic. Love how much space the patio had. The fans added a nice touch in the summer heat. I'm sure Better not in summer.

Party of 3 adults today for brunch today was great! The host was super interactive with us after we asked a few questions while we waited for our table. Keep that guy because he really gave spot on food recommendations. We loved the calzone and caesar salad . . and the mimosas! Can't wait to go back and try more things because the menu was expansive and everything looked so good

    Drunken Bread 'Side'
    Adriana A.

Went in for dinner, this was a first! We ordered the drunken bread and it was absolutely delicious! The marinara/cheese is a great compliment to it! We ordered the lasagna and it's a 7 out of 10. Portion & price didn't match! Also ordered the Beer can chicken - very salty. We should've stuck to appetizers!

    Nice looking glasses.

After 5 yrs not much has changed. The pizza is okay. Nothing that makes you want to travel across town to get it. I mean they can't even cut the pizza fully so you have rip and tear it apart. Menus are poorly labeled. The lunch menu is only Monday through Friday so that changed the ordering process. The Sunday special for drinks even though reasonably priced at 7-8 dollars just not very well executed. Overall it's left wanting. Great place to meet with friends for a drink. Food will be better after several of those drinks.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

Our waiter was attentive and had great recommendations for wine. When I was conflicted between two whites, he graciously brought me out both to taste and decide. I went with the Cacciabruco Malvasia/Trebbiano, which is a skin-contact white wine, so it had more of a reddish hue to it and almost looked like a rose in the dim lighting of the restaurant. I also would've liked it a bit thinner so I could taste less of the bread and more of those delicious toppings. Don't get me wrong it was good and I ate all of it but these are small suggestions I'd recommend to bring it to perfection. I could see parking and seating being tricky. There was a food truck in the front, but we didn't order from there. Spot is nice, depending the time you go (Happy Hour) it will be crowded.

Such a great girls night spot!…read more My friends and I had a great dinner all thanks to Payton's impeccable service and friendliness. We ordered a variety of tapas and drinks based on Payton's recs and they sure didn't disappoint. Some faves were the following: cauliflower - jam packed with flavor seafood paella - perfectly cooked seafood and crispy rice bits were bomb olive oil cake - moist and loved the salt on top My Valencian gin and tonic was very refreshing and I loved the hint of thyme and citrus. Parking was valet. Make sure to make a reservation as this spot gets crowded. Didn't know this was a chain, but would definitely return!

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. You can either park on the street or in the neighborhood behind. There's bar, small table and booth seating available. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

I've been coming here since 2021 and it's still my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! My top favorite: The Wild Mushroom Chicken is out of this world with the king trumpet mushroom cream sauce. It's a very good portion as they give you (almost) half of a roasted chicken, topped with Parmesan gnocchi. Definitely worth sharing with the table! The Le Cochon or The Pig is a fun one as it's served in a big board with the options of eating your slow-cooked Berkshire pork with your steamed buns or lettuce wraps. The flavors are even more colorful when you add the toppings and in-house sauce that looks like it might be bbq sauce... but better because it's got a little bit of a bite to it! It's fresh, colorful and the pork is tenderrr! Last but not least, the 72 Hour Short Rib is a must try! The meat falls apart as soon as you touch it and sits on the best grits I've ever had, Plonk's Anson mills cheddar grits. The wine reduction compliments the dish and every bite makes you wish that the dish doesn't end. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night, a casual night, a family night or just any night! They never disappoint and is truly a staple within the neighborhood.

The burger was the highlight. Moody lighting and not too loud (unless someone brought their kids) so you can actually converse with your party. Will absolutely be back for the burger. It's a nice lowkey neighborhood spot with a bar and outdoor seating as well. The ambiance was chill and casual which I am all for. They are pet friendly as I got to see some fur babies come in which is always nice. We started with some glasses of Cabernet and told our waiter we were celebrating my birthday. The food didn't take long to come out and was so darn good. It was probably one of the best steak nights I've had in a while. We had the ribeyes, mash potato, mac and cheese, green beans, and French fries. The steak was seasoned perfectly and grilled to the perfect temperature to my liking. We are still talking about it, I can't wait to come back and try their chimichurri sauce. We ended with the strawberry and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cheese cake. They weren't too sweet and just the right amount of richness. If they aren't on your list for steak night I definitely recommend!
