Went to D'Alba for lunch on a Friday and had a really great experience. The lunch menu had a solid selection with reasonable prices. I wasn't in the mood for one of the specialty pizzas loaded with toppings, so I kept it simple with a pepperoni pizza, and it was excellent. The crust had a perfect char and great flavor. We also tried the burrata and oysters. The burrata was very good. The oysters were Gulf Coast oysters, and I personally prefer East Coast oysters, so I probably wouldn't order those again, but that's just personal preference. The staff was friendly across the board, and our server William was especially personable and attentive without being overbearing. Ordered the biscuit with assorted jams (forgot to snap a pic before devouring), and the spinach salad with jumbo shrimp. To help wash everything down, had a personal carafe of the peach Bellini mimosa (deep eddys Peach and champagne)... you get about 4 pours from it (if you fill to half of your flute). Stopped in with a friend on Saturday. We had a reservation in the patio but it was quite hot outside so they let us move inside which was really nice. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. We started off with the balloon bread and it was really good the honey complimented the bread well. My friend had the ravioli and she really liked it. D'Alba is a sweet neighborhood spot that's perfect for residents in the area. The inside is spacious but the outdoor patio is even larger. For those with little ones, there's even a playground for them to stay busy. I've only been for brunch, but everytime we've been, we always leave with bellies full and hearts content. We always order the mimosa flight where you can choose up to three different flavors. The dining menu is limited, but tries to offer a little something for everyone. I shared the Waffle with Chicken Confit with my partner, but this can be filling for one. The pairing was perfect in theory, but the waffle was unfortunately dry. What an utmost fabulous experience at D'Alba for happy hour. A friend and I ended up here and boy a time was had! The moment I walked in I knew this was to be one of my spots! The music was great , whoever the DJ was had me dancing my way to the table. Our server was so knowledgeable of the drinks and foods down to flavor profiles. We had one of the best Ceasars salads ever. The dill added to the dressing gave the salad a unique fresh edge. We couldn't decide so shared the hamburger (though we subbed the English muffin for a bun) & hot chicken. The hot chicken was both of our favorite of the two. My boyfriend loved the fries because they were crispy on the outside without being over done. They were a little too thin for my taste but like I said, my boyfriend loved, loved, loved them. Came here on a lunch date with my sister and the food was really good! The restaurant is tucked inside the Garden Oaks neighborhood. We got the pepperoni pizza and added basil to it for extra flavor and it tasted delicious. The beef bolognese was also delicious. My favorite item that we ordered was the balloon bread - definitely the standout item on the menu! The flavor combination of the basil pesto and the honey on the bread is interesting, but I thought it was pretty good. The pizza and the alba balloon bread are big enough to share too. I really like that there's a play area for the kids but I don't like that you have to go inside for drinks. Makes no sense. The food they bring right to you and it is pretty good, especially the pizza. Everyone who works there is very nice and helpful. Bathrooms are clean and the air conditioning is on point. We also wasted some money on the machines outside and on one of them the claw wasn't even working so we didn't even get the toy we paid for. Kind of a bummer. read more

You can park on the street, in the small lot adjacent to the restaurant, or in the lot across the street (just be aware of signs since not all spots are restaurant parking). When you arrive, you restaurant yourself and the staff comes pretty quickly to greet you. My friend and I enjoyed outdoor seating and it was nice and spacious. I ordered the sparkling rose; if you are there for happy hour, it is on special. We tried the hummus (delectable, especially with the green olives!) and I had one of the pastas. This is a perfect brunch or lunch spot, especially when you're with kids. The self-service area in the back has a playground next to the tables so you can sit down while the kids get their wiggles out a few feet away. (Anyone with small children knows how impossible it is to get them to sit down for an entire leisurely-paced meal.) You order from the bartender in that area, and they bring it to your table. More importantly, I also enjoyed the food here! The brunch menu has a lot going for it, and anywhere with a great hummus plate is a winner in my book. read more

A group of friends and I recently selected d'Alba as the place we wanted to try for our post-spin class ladies brunch. We made outdoor reservations for Sunday morning which was easy enough. There is parking in a lot next to the restaurant as well as out front which is very convenient. Upon arrival, it was storming so they quickly adjusted the reservations and moved us inside. As there were 7 of us, they placed us at a large round table which was the perfect size. We decided to start off with a few carafes of mimosas to share across the table and asked for juice on the side depending how how everyone likes theirs. When the carafes arrived, I had to snicker a bit as the juice was brought almost in shot glasses which was great - they knew we didn't want much juice. The champagne and strawberry juice were surprisingly not my favorite and I have prefered a mimosa elsewhere but regardless, it was still good. For food, our table ordered a variety of items from the caprese sandwich that looked great to the salads. I ordered the mixed green salad with an order of grilled shrimp on top. The salad had shaved egg, artichokes, vegetables and more which I loved. The shrimp on top was just OK but still, I'm glad I ordered a protein on top. One thing I would note is about the ambiance. This restaurant is very cute and would be great for a date night, but I did find the table height to be a bit awkward. I went here for brunch on New Years. It was a great way to start the day. Although it was a little cloudy and chilly, the patio was equipped with heaters at every table and they do have a dog friendly patio for those who like to bring along their furry friends for a meal. The service was great, our server was friendly and polite. It wasn't busy, and the menu is straightforward. We opted to have mimosas to ring in the new year. They were very refreshing and I got a pineapple mimosa. We also ordered fried chicken and waffles. The chicken confit was delicious, the skin and batter were so crisp, not heavy. The meat was tender and juicy. The waffle was good, a but dense but still good. The fresno chilis and butter were a good complement. The lemon ricotta pancakes were the star of the meal. They were rich, moist, and bright with the lemon. I've had the same dish at other places but this tops them all, highly recommend. I attended a large birthday party a few weeks ago. The overall experience was mediocre. Pros: -The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio area with a lot of seating. The inside has a good amount of tables too. -The staff was nice enough to accommodate our large group, though in hindsight, it would have been better if they just kept us at four separate tables. -One of servers Amelia was so sweet and did an amazing job. If she was stressed, she didn't show it. -I liked one of my cocktails that I ordered. I forget the name of it but it was the alcoholic version of the Bunny Mary. Cons: -The espresso martini that I started with was just okay. I wouldn't order it again. It looked better than it tasted. -I ordered the d'Alba breakfast plate. My food was barely warm when it was served. The eggs were scrambled too soft for my preference (I did request for them to be scrambled hard) and they were extremely bland. We didn't have any salt, pepper, or condiments. The potatoes were meh. I did like the bacon and the muffin. -Our other server Beto was rude. I understand he was in the weeds with our large group, but his attitude sucked. Our group is very nice and laid back. There was no reason to get an attitude. -We were told we could split the check up to 5 people, but once the bill was brought out, we weren't able to. Having to figure out what people owed was a bit of a headache. It wasn't the best dining experience, but I would be willing to give them another try. If I come back, I will not come with a large group and I will be sure to ask for Amelia. read more

Came here to celebrate our 4-person birthday party. I will say it was a large party, and we appreciate the accommodation of being able to sit all together on their large patio. There were some highlights and lowlights for sure. I may give this place another chance. Service - we had 2 servers, Beto and Emilia (I believe). I think they got overwhelmed between drinks and food. I will say everyone did get food, but one of the servers got tired of our group pretty quick, and the kindness turned into curtness by the end. 2 servers is a lot for 25+ people for food and drinks. I am unsure if they really had the staff to accomadate. We were told upon booking that we could do separate checks. However, upon arrival, they were only willing to split up to 5 checks. So we split amongst the 4 birthday people. I wish they would have been more transparent with that up front. I don't know if something changed, or if the policy was always this, or if it was because of the patio? It seemed unclear. Drinks - I started with the spicy marg, easy peazy. Next, I did the Green chile Gimlet- they were not able to sub out different alcohol from vodka to gin, but I ordered it anyway. I should have stuck with gin. Food -I decided to keep it light by and order the baby spinach salad ($14), and added ($9) jumbo shrimp as well, to make it more of a full meal. It was pretty tasty. A few people got their brunch sandwich & they enjoyed it. The campachena was not very tasty, nor the spinach dip. Meh, I didn't really enjoy my experience at this restaurant. Our group of about 25 came here for brunch. It was for 4 of our friend's birthday & I have to say that the service was below-par with just okay food. We had two servers dealing with our big group. The male server was curt & borderline rude while the female server was nice & did her best. The thing about our group is we're easy going so we won't give anyone a hard time but he was just not nice to us. My friend was in the middle of speaking to him & he just walked away. I understand that you're dealing with a big group but if you can't handle the stress then get out of the kitchen. Service was slow & it took 20 mins to take my order & when my food arrived it was close to cold. I ordered alba breakfast plate that comes with eggs, bacon, potatoes & an English muffin. The eggs was not cooked to my liking because it was barely runny. The bacon was cold and just edible. They were so cheap on my potatoes, like cmon you gave me four pieces. Then the menu said it was garlic flavored, basically it was just plain potatoes. I did enjoy my English muffin. I got to try my friend cornbread muffin and it was pretty good, it had a lemony taste to it which I actually enjoyed. I also ordered their manhattan & it was alright. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience. For a $15 breakfast plate it was boring & could've pass for an $8 plate. The service could've been better more so because it was our friend's birthday. The male server (I don't recall his name but someone said it was either Beto/Pedro) needs to have more patience's with his customers because at one point of the dining experience I thought he was going to snap at us. I recently came out here for a 4-person birthday extravaganza on a Saturday. We had a rather large group spread across 4 different tables. As far as crowd control goes, we were very well tamed. The place itself was a very clean, trendy, mostly outdoor brunch place. I liked the ambience, and I particularly enjoyed my seat in the corner, with a great view of all the things. Service was hit and miss. One server has a very good demeanor, even with the crowd and likely the stress of all the things. One did not. It completely understand that a herd of us can be stressful, and a lot of work. But if you're working anyway, you might as well soldier through. We tip well when we have a great time. So orders were slow to put in, and also slow to be delivered. I had to cancel an order because it never arrived. Aside from that, the items that I did get were very good. The drinks were okay, not particularly strong, and on the sweeter side. The oysters were good. The Smashed Avocado was very good. Flavor was on-point, and portion was too. Overall, a good spot. My gripes are valid for my experience, but I would go back to try it outside of the large group setting and see how it goes. Definitely a great spot to be outdoors. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my time here! I had the confit chicken and waffles. Delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious - also a large portion including a leg and thigh. It comes with a hot honey drizzle with some sliced peppers and black pepper ricotta on top of the chicken. While I loved the hot honey with the chicken, I was somewhat undecided about the ricotta topping. I think maybe if it had a little more seasoning besides black pepper (that you could taste), it would have made more sense on the chicken, although it did add a level of creaminess to the meal and an overall unique experience to the dish. I had a wonderful brunch here with a few of my friends. The restaurant has an extensive outside patio which was great since I went when the weather was perfect, but they also have an option for inside seating. Food overall was very delicious. My favorites were the balloon bread and the campechana. The balloon bread was light and crisp and it paired amazingly well with the whipped ricotta and jam. The campechana was also surprisingly very delectable as this was the first time I've ever tried campechana and I had no idea what to expect. It was tangy, tomatoey, and it kind of reminded me of a soupy yet thicker version of a ceviche. The pizza was also good, not too doughy and with the right amount of toppings. Looking forward to coming back to try their other lunch/dinner dishes! I had a great first experience at d'Alba! The server, Dominique (sp?) was very attentive and friendly. Food -- Shared the half dozen grilled oysters and the burrata. Personal preference but the burrata would have been better served with cold beets and no pesto. The pesto was a little overpowering and kind of took over everything else in the dish. I decided to order from the HRW and was looking forward to the spinach artichoke dip but it was burnt and there was too much spinach and little to no artichokes. It also tasted off.. kind of like the spinach was frozen? The chips were great on their own and if the dip was guacamole but they didn't pair well with the spinach artichoke dip. For the second course, I chose the calzone. So good! With all the food we ordered, I was only able to eat half -- very filling and great for leftovers! My friend ordered the artichoke pizza and it was good but nothing special or out of this world. Drinks -- I had a paloma with mezcal and it was incredibly sweet so I asked for more grapefruit juice and soda water -- that helped! Next, I drank a spicy margarita with mezcal.
