    Chicken Vincent and seafood lasagna
    Nida H.

Anddd I'm back at the best Italian food in Houston! This time we had the Parmesan crusted asparagus with lump crab. It was SO flavorful and the crisp of the asparagus went well with the soft lump crab. The Caesar salad is our fave so it was a no brainer. For the mains we had Chilean sea bass and grilled chicken Vincent. We split the entrees into two and y'all...It was SO much. One thing I love about this place is how generous the portions are. It's always plenty. Ok let's talk desserts. The cannolis. THE CANNOLIS HOLY MOLY. Yes I've been to Italy. Yes I've been to Little Italy and hopped all over other parts of New York City. Ive had all the cannolis. I've even made my own cannolis (yes I'm a baker). However, this cannoli. Chef Triola--I salute you. I'm still dreaming about this dessert. Wow. I don't know what else to say. We also had the Key lime pie and somehow the chocolate chip cookie crust with the tang from the lime works in harmony. It was incredible per usual. All I can say is, this restaurant continues to leave me happy and satisfied. The staff is consistently attentive. The chef is very involved and personally comes out to talk as if we are guests in his home. You can tell he genuinely enjoys cooking and truly cares about his customers. I would recommend this place to everyone. If you want good quality Italian food, this is it!!

Triola's has a unique look outside and inside when compared to most Italian restaurants. The modern farmhouse trend is used all throughout, and it makes the place feel bright and a little more open than it might considering the small footprint. Parking lot is small and the front dining room is also quite small. The service started off a little strangely the day we swung by as I believe the owner greeted us at the door in shorts and t shirt. We were quickly sat and our server was plenty helpful throughout the meal. Couldn't tell if they Italian accent was authentic, but I enjoyed it anyways! Generally, the food is standard Italian American, calamari was crispy and maybe a tad over, got a couple pieces that got too chewy. Marinara sauce that came with it was terrific. Garlic bread is done for free and better at most other restaurants so it feels wrong having to ask for this, and it being this boring. Chicken TRIOLA, was great! I tend to order the menu item that bares the name of the business if it's my first time visiting and this did not disappoint. It came with a generous portion of stuffed chicken that stayed moist, partly due to a nice sauce ladled on top. Roasted vegetables got the right color and texture and complimented the chicken in the way you'd expect. My friends with me had some goods and gripes about their entrees, and it left me feeling mixed. I think there's a lot to like here, but for me I have some other Italian places I might visit again before this one.

A small Italian spot on the north side of town (north of downtown) on Main. We've driven past this spot without realizing that it was a restaurant; it's a standalone restaurant with limited parking in the front. The interior has limited seating and had a strong chemical cleaner smell. We came with some friends for lunch on a weekday. We ordered the fried calamari and beef carpaccio for appetizers. The calamari was very crispy and fried well but slightly dry. The marinara sauce with was good; 4/5. The beef carpaccio was also seasoned well and tasted as you would expect it to be, and the beef was tender; 4/5. Both appetizers were fairly pricey at $24 and $25 respectively. For the main entree, I got the pasta bolognese; for a $42 plate of pasta, the expectations were high. Unfortunately the first thing was that the sauce was very sweet and not savory at all. The meats in the dish were tender but the overly sweet tomato based sauce made the entire dish super sweet and odd tasting for a pasta dish; 2/5. Overall, the quality of the food seems decent, but at its cost point, the food we got doesn't seem above and beyond other Italian options in the same cost bracket.

Food 5/5!: Everything we tried was very delicious and savory. My family tried all different dishes and they all loved it. Service 5/5: From entrance to leaving all the staff was super welcoming and nice. Our waiter made sure we had a great experience. Ambiance 5/5: the restaurant used to be a house and they turned it into a really nice restaurant. We were sat on the second floor and the lighting was very a luminous not to bright on the eyes.

My family and I decided to come to this place as it had great reviews and it did meet up to those reviews. I will start off by saying the staff was amazing. And the chef came by to greet us which I thought was great. The place is a bit small but cute. Parking is also limited but there's an unpaved lot you can park at next door. The prices are on the higher end but overall the food was good.

Why 5 stars? Because it was not only a delicious experience, but a fun one. --- --- --- On the way back to Montgomery from a birthday party near Nasa, we stopped into Triola for lunch. The photos and reviews made it a pretty easy decision as we were browsing different options. We were quickly introduced to the owner/chef, who has a big personality and a big voice that can easily be heard throughout the small first floor dining room. I asked him what the chef's special was and he named duck and lamb as a part of it, but I mentioned that I don't like lamb because it's gamey and that I would just go with the seafood lasagna. He insisted that his lamb was not gamey and that he would bring me a small sample to show me. He was indeed correct. I feel like it was basically 99% not gamey and while I enjoyed it, I would have just preferred a steak. But I will give the man this: it was the best lamb I've ever tried. But then he got a little greedy :) I said that my least favorite food on Earth is goat cheese because of the gaminess. He said that goat cheese isn't gamey, to which I said, ruined his credibility haha. But he couldn't help himself and brought out some goat cheese too. I am not a picky eater but I find goat cheese repulsive, but I'll always try anything. As I first ate it, I felt like it was maybe 5-10% gamey but manageable compared to all other goat cheese. After he walked away, it began to linger a bit more to the point where I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't want to be a debbie downer. It was still much better than anything I've tried before, but I don't ever need to have it again. That said, the thought to let me try it was appreciated. As for the actual food we ordered: Garlic Bread: 4-stars. Standard, but delicious. Seafood Lasagna: 5-stars. $48 but it's delicious and has huge chunks of seafood. I loved every bite. Pasta SALSICCIE: 4-stars. My wife and I agreed that we liked this, but didn't love it. High quality ingredients but we probably would have tried something else, in hindsight. Spaghetti and Meatballs: 3-stars for me, but 5-stars for my wife. I thought the sauce was pretty watery and didn't love the flavor, but my wife loved it. This was really just for our son, but we heavily sampled it ourselves. Then for dessert, we were heavily debating between the Cassata Cake and the Banana Bread Pudding. Keeping the theme of generosity alive, they brought us both even though we choose the latter. Banana Bread Pudding: 4-stars. I liked it, but it was extremely heavy and hard to eat more than a few bites. Cassata Cake: 5-stars. A total home run. We both absolutely loved it. 6 items, 25-stars = 4.16 average, but the service, the hospitality and the interaction with the owner was so awesome that there's no way I could give anything other than 5 stars here.

We had a nice dinner at Triola's Kitchen. It's a cozy spot inside a converted house, filled with family photos that give it a warm, personal vibe. Frank Triola himself was there, chatting with guests, which was a fun touch! Service was excellent--we were well taken care of, and they were very attentive. That said, for just the two of us, we felt like they were really encouraging us to order more appetizers than we needed. Portions are huge, so pace yourself! For appetizers, we had the Tomatoes Caprese, which had good ingredients, but was a little too saucy for my taste. As for pastas, both were super rich and salty at the table, but honestly, they were much better the next day as leftovers! Overall, it's clear there's a lot of love in this restaurant, and I'd come back to try other dishes--especially the seafood lasagna!

My first fancy dining experience for Valentine's Day, couldn't have been more pleased, off the bat greeted by a complementary valet service this was so convenient especially because of rain. After seated, Immediately greeted by management and staff. it felt so respectful and almost like family. atmosphere was so nice, from lighting to decorating, it was very cute. The food came so quickly & was absolutely amazing, I honestly could only compare it to Olive Garden lol... but wow immediate difference to my lower income taste buds love this place !

Triola's Kitchen is full of heart, history, and hospitality. Housed in a converted home, this Italian spot feels like you're dining at a family gathering. Photos of Frank Triola's family line the walls, celebrating generations of Italian culinary tradition in Houston since the 1940s. Frank himself was in the dining room, warmly chatting with guests, which added a personal touch that you don't see often anymore. Service was fantastic--our server was attentive, and our waters were never empty. However, as a table of two, we did feel a bit of a push toward ordering more appetizers than necessary. The portion sizes here are very generous, and just one entree could easily feed two people, so keep that in mind when ordering. [APPETIZERS & SALAD] +Tomatoes Caprese ($16) - Sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella from Houston Dairymaids, and basil. I usually love a good Caprese salad, but this one was drenched in sauce, which overpowered the fresh ingredients underneath. Still, the quality of the mozzarella and tomatoes was solid. - 3.5/5 [PASTA] +Pasta Bolognese ($42) - Frank's Bolognese sauce with Osso Bucco, beef tenderloin, Italian sausage, meatballs, and brisket, all tossed with fresh pasta. In the restaurant, this was overwhelmingly rich with a strange sweetness and heavy saltiness that had me reaching for water after every bite. However, as leftovers, the flavors mellowed out beautifully. You could really appreciate the depth of the sauce and the care put into it. - 3/5 in-restaurant, 4.5/5 as leftovers +Meg's Penne Con Salsiccie ($28) - Penne pasta with spicy Italian sausage, suga rosa, and mozzarella. Between the two pastas, I preferred this one at first taste. It had a nice spice and flavor, but again, very rich and salty while dining in. As leftovers, it held up well. - 3.5/5 in-restaurant, 4/5 as leftovers Overall, I had high hopes for Triola's Kitchen, and while there were some hits and a few misses, I can see the passion behind the food. I'm curious to come back and try the seafood lasagna next time--it seems like a place where a few menu explorations might unlock some gems.

Where do I event start? Chef Frank is amazing! I saw him helping park cars which they have complimentary valet. I also saw him helping the host and showing people to their seats. He also came by and explained the menu and specials. We decided to have the chef special and let him impress us. He did not disappoint us! The amount of food that came to the table was insane. On top of that everything we had was delicious. There wasn't one item I wouldn't order again. Lets see if I can remember everything I had, it started with the Calamari that served with their homemade marinara sauce. The Shrimp Azzarelli which are colossal Shrimp with Roma tomatoes, basil, garlic, radicchio, and arugula sautéed in white wine and lemon served with grilled garlic toast point. The Papa's Mushrooms that are mushroom caps filled with veal, breadcrumbs, topped with fontina cheese and finished with lemon-butter basil sauce. Next was the Tomatoes Stella salad which was amazing! Its sliced beef steak tomatoes on a bed of radicchio and arugula. Topped with hearts of palm, artichokes hearts and jumbo crab. Finished with balsamic vinaigrette, gorgonzola cheese dressing and American Black Sturgeon Caviar. We also had two different types of crab fingers which are not even offered on the menu! My favorite item out of everything were the Lamb Chops! These are Chef Frank's Award-Winning New Zealand rack of lamb, grilled and topped with blueberry, jalapeno and mint demi reduction! Lets not forget about the Wagyu Steaks that came out of nowhere followed by the Pappardelle Bolognese that's served with Osso Bucco sauce, beef tenderloin, Italian sausage, meatballs, and Italian brisket tossed with fresh rigatoni pasta. Then we closed it out with the dessert sampler. This was every dessert available! We had a slice of the carrot cake, cassata cake, chocolate cake, italian cheesecake, key lime pie and the tiramisu. I'm not sure how I was able to walk out by the end of this! Im looking forward to go back but next time lets just order one dish.

Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.

The best dining experience of my trip to Houston!…read more We visited on a Wednesday during happy hour and had an incredible meal from start to finish. The restaurant itself is absolutely charming, with a warm, stylish atmosphere and adorable decor that made the space feel both inviting and memorable. We ordered the carrot hummus, pepperoni pizza, bigoli with crispy guanciale, tomato, and pecorino, and finished with the vanilla ice cream sundae. Every dish was outstanding, and I would gladly recommend any of them. A special shoutout to Fran, our server, who was phenomenal. They guided us through the menu, provided excellent recommendations, and made sure our water glasses were never empty. Their attentive and friendly service elevated an already fantastic experience. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was wonderful, and the service was just as impressive. If you're visiting Houston, this restaurant is a must-try. It was easily my favorite meal of the entire trip, and I can't wait to come back.

It took me far too long to come here and I'm mourning every past meal I didn't have. Originally had a reservation for 6 and needed to adjust the day before and they kindly accommodated! We sat outside and had one of my favorite meals in Houston. We had a good mix of apps, pasta, and pizza with the salami piccante pie stealing the show. No joke might be my favorite Houston pizza bite. Also our server Jackalynn was awesome. Great conversation and kept up with our chaotic ordering and questions. Tiny Champions you've won my heart!!!

We arrived on a Friday evening during Happy Hour (HH) around 5:30pm. Maurizio stopped by to introduce himself and let us know that he would ensure we were taken care of. As stated above, it was happy hour during our time there but we ordered from allllll the menus haha! Great deal! The experience was great, there were many waiters and waitresses stopping by the table to check in on us. The food was fresh, flavorful, and piping hot! The views are lovely and the ambiance is a combination of chill, chic, and relaxing. Very vibey and spacious place. The restrooms are really nice as well and they were clean and stocked. Aperitivo is definitely on my list of places to return to, especially for happy hour. It's worth it to check this place out!

They do have lunch specials, customer service was great. For food, I ordered the steak charcuterie, medium rare but it came out well done. Since this dish was an up charge, we did let the server know and asked for a different dish. Instead we ordered the Cesar wrap. The server was kind and did refund us on the steak item. What I ordered: Wellington bites (super good) Caesar wrap Burger Aperol spritz
