We arrived on a Friday evening during Happy Hour (HH) around 5:30pm. Maurizio stopped by to introduce himself and let us know that he would ensure we were taken care of. As stated above, it was happy hour during our time there but we ordered from allllll the menus haha! Aperitivo is very cute and chic inside and out! The outdoor patio overlooking the Houston skyline was a huge bonus. My friends and I went during their brunch hour on the weekend. We booked the outdoor seating and boy was it hot that day. Nonetheless, the restaurant did provide large umbrellas to shade our table, so that was nice. Main Dish: Creste De Gallo pasta, was good. My dish needed a bit more salt. Drinks: Special Sangria. This wasn't on their menu, but I asked the waitress if they served sangrias. Sure enough, they did! Although our waitress was extremely nice, the service could've been a bit better. It took about 25-30 minutes for my water. I had to remind the waitress again that I didn't receive a water. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Aperitivo. A few people at our table were not thrilled with their meal. We had a reservation for 9:00 PM for an indoor table, but ended up waiting until almost 10:00 PM before being seated in the lounge area. We were never asked for our drink order and, for the most part, weren't even acknowledged by any server. The manager did stop by and apologized, offering complimentary shots, which was appreciated, but we still weren't asked what we wanted to drink afterward. Meanwhile, we watched several groups who arrived after us get seated, order, and receive both their drinks and food before anyone came to our table. At that point, it felt like we had simply been forgotten. The atmosphere is nice, but the service really took away from the experience. We came for brunch with a group of six on July 3 and left with some pretty mixed feelings. Starting with the positives: the atmosphere was great and made for a fun brunch spot. Everyone generally enjoyed their food, and most of us ordered the two- or three-course prix fixe menu. The portions were much larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. We also had a friend with a baby, and the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the service never found its rhythm. While everyone was friendly, it was consistently slow and disorganized. The servers didn't seem to know which seat each dish belonged to, my drink was forgotten and took quite a while to arrive, and my chicken Caesar salad didn't come out until well after everyone else had their meals. My lemoncello tart was delayed too, and there were long gaps between courses throughout the meal. We were seated as a party of six at a table set for four, asked multiple times for additional utensils, and never received them, we just kept reusing replacements after dirty ones were cleared. The lemoncello tart was also a disappointment. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews beforehand because they were right. It was tiny and pretty underwhelming. It looked like it had maybe an eighth of a ladyfinger in it. To their credit, the manager comped part of my meal because of the delayed salad, which was appreciated. However, even getting the bill settled ended up being confusing and more time-consuming than it should have been. Overall, the food and atmosphere were good enough that I'd consider coming back, but I'd only do so if I wasn't in any hurry. It honestly felt like they may have been understaffed. They do have lunch specials, customer service was great. For food, I ordered the steak charcuterie, medium rare but it came out well done. Aperitivo is definitely one of those trending spots you see all over TikTok, and honestly, it lived up to the hype. The restaurant is beautiful, especially the outdoor seating overlooking the bayou -- such a great atmosphere for dinner and drinks. The food was delicious overall, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable. I ordered the Spicy Fresca, and it was definitely on the stronger side. Great if you're looking for a strong cocktail, but if you want something light and refreshing, I'd probably recommend ordering something else. My only real complaint was the truffle fries. Aperitivo has been on my last for awhile now with the gorgeous interior and downtown skyline views. A group of my friends and I finally got the chance to visit, unplanned, on a Sunday evening while celebrating a birthday. The restaurant and bar is located on the top floor of the new East River complex. They have valet parking as well as free lot parking a couple of blocks away. Since the visit was a last minute decision, we did not have a reservation. The hostess informed us that they would be able to seat us but that drinks may be up to a 30 minute wait since they only had one bartender. We agreed and were seated at a large table inside. While skyline views always make a place special, Aperitivo raises the bar even further with lux design and interior accents that make it feel super elevated. In terms of drinks, they have a number of original cocktails that you won't be able to find anywhere else. My friend got the "caprese" which is prepared with tomato water and a mozzarella brine, which was translucent and had a hearty but balanced finish. An interesting drink for sure. I got the "Aperitivo spritz" which was very light and refreshing. Cocktails are all $18 and there is also an automatic 20% gratuity added to all checks. The drinks and ambience were great but unfortunately the service did not impress us. After being seated, we had some time to review the menu before our waitress approached the table. When she arrived, we did ask whether there would be a 30 minute wait for drinks after the host provided this warning due to the single bartender. She took the question defensively saying that she had a bunch of tables and got to our table when she could. I realize that the question could have been interpreted in the wrong way but will say that her response was not very customer service oriented. Service was great and the manager helped us get a better table even though they were completely booked. We had a random assortment of food. Oysters 4/5 Shrimp cocktail 3/5 Charcuterie board 5/5 I had really solid old fashioned and my wife had mezcal margarita which was also great. We then switched to wine for the rest of the night. It was raining when we first got there so the patio was closed. However, when we were almost done one of the waiters told us which door was unlocked and said make sure to go get some picture and enjoy the view. Stopped in on Memorial Day for a nice lunch with family. I totally enjoyed the ambiance on the patio with the large fan. It kept a very nice breeze. The decor really gives you the feel of Italy. Service was okay, for having apparently only 1-2 servers. There was quite a wait and requested additional items were forgotten, so we ended up canceling them. I was excited to try the food, and most in our party did the prix fixe option for about $35 or less. The food looks amazing and is presented well. For most in my party the consensus was a lack of flavor. Most tried adding salt, which helped a bit. But! My Caesar salad was really good! I only added pepper. However, I was really sick about an hour later. So...for those looking for a great environment, lightly seasoned food, and are very patient with the service, this might be an option for you. A friend of mine from Texas took me to this newer restaurant for a rooftop dining experience. From the moment you walk into the lobby, you are greeted by the host and then accompanied up the elevator to your table which was nice. Our server was attentive and checked in on us promptly. The appetizers and cocktails seen below were decent. I would say the Wellington bites were okay, specifically because the beef seemed to be quite chewy. We were not that happy with our main courses, specifically the Parmesan chicken pasta as we felt it lacked sauce and was more on the bland side. But the salmon Risotto was delicious. Overall the experience was nice but the food was decent, and we felt like we overpaid a little bit for what we got. I made reservations for a Friday evening dinner with the girls to celebrate her birthday. We decided on an indoor table due to Houston August heat. Luckily it wasn't too bad despite being seated near the open window and doors. The view of the Houston Skyline was beautiful. I can't wait to come back to enjoy the patio on a cool day. We did take photos on the patio and even the restaurant manager offered to take the photos for us. She even guided us to the other side of the balcony for more additional views and better photo lighting. I was able to converse with her briefly as I saw another side of their restaurant that is being set up for a wedding the next day. She mentioned they an accommodate a 300 person wedding which was impressive. I think this works be a perfect venue in general for any occasion with the views it offers over Houston. Valet parking is available for $15 in front of the restaurant. There's also free street parking, which is was lucky to find. There is a parking garage nearby as well, however I'm not sure if there a fee or not. The restaurant itself is very much Instagram worthy. The decor is Tuscany chic. It gave off even positivity and "vacation vibes" as one of my girlfriends mentioned. Drinks and food presentation also needed their spotlight too. The patio is extensive with tables and chairs, including patio furniture. There were large fans also blowing outdoors to keep it cool as well but it's hard to beat that Houston humidity. I love the variety of alcoholic and having non-alcoholic drinks available. I do not drink alcohol so having a nice cocktail with the girls was nice. I got the mango non-alcoholic drink and it was so refreshing and it took me back to of i was in cancun. The Apertivo Sprits was a recommended cocktails the ladies enjoyed and the Ti Amo Lychee. The cocktails were reported to be delicious and strong. The food was also delicious. We shared the charcuterie selection, beef wellington, seasonal crudo, spicy coppa pizza, and chicken parmesan. We also enjoyed an after dinner hazelnut coffee, which was delicious. We didn't get to try the dessert this time because we brought a birthday cake for our friend. They kindly brought it out for us and sliced it up for us. They even helped pack it away for us. We had such a lovely and tasty experience. I was scared about the negative reviews but we came in with an open mind. Since stepping into the place, Service was wonderful. Restaurant manger checked on us frequently as well. Table was always cleared and our water glasses full. Do note, they do automatically include a 20% tip to all tabs. It is stated on the menu. This restaurant can be difficult to find but so worth the find. The space is gorgeous and the views even more so. It is located on the fifth floor but you are only allowed access by the hostess on the first floor. I do recommend reservations due to the restaurant being small. The lunch menu has good variety. The valet is only open certain days and hours as well. When we checked in, we were escorted to our table on the rooftop. They have great views but we sat inside due to a windy day. This place definitely delivered! We went right when they opened at 5 PM, and it was perfect because it wasn't crowded at all, which gave us a chance to really take in the vibe. From the start, everything was smooth: we checked in, and once our table was ready, an attendant took us up the elevator to the rooftop. Aperitivo is the perfect date night! This is the kind of place you can dress to impress, enjoy some drinks and light bites, and catch the sunset while looking at the Houston skyline. Service wise, just be aware they are only open Wed and Sun evenings so far. We made reservations on OpenTable, and they are really busy if you're trying to get a prime table on the outside patio. You enter through this hotel like lobby, check in at the desk, and they escort you upstairs on the elevator when it's your turn to get seated. Drinks wise, we tried their aperitivo spritz, cocco negroni, and a glass of their house champagne. For food, we had their Mediterranean dip trio, house cut truffle fries, and the assorted charcuterie & cheeses. Everything was great and appropriately matched the rooftop bar vibes. Tucked away near East River 9, Aperitivo is one elevator ride away from a stunning Tuscany style bar. Reservations are highly recommended here and there is valet parking on arrival. The reservation system is for smaller parties and wouldn't let us book for 3 people so booked for parties of 1, 2 and 2 at the bar and then asked to be sat together. I typically don't think this would've worked out but they were super accommodating about it! We enjoyed our cocktails, charcuterie, Wellington bites (although this dish definitely needs an acid to cut up how rich they are) and truffle fries. The food portions were on the smaller side. My friend from New York made reservations for two to Aperitivo at 7:00pm in time for the sunset. When we arrived, we checked in at the front and were told to have a seat in the waiting area. The waiting area consisted a sectional and two accent chairs. There were two other parties waiting as well. Soon every seat was occupied as there were numerous parties waiting on their table. Even though reservations were made, we waited as least 30 minutes for our table and unfortunately missed the sunset. We were seated at the bar and thankfully the bartender was attentive and swiftly got us our drinks. On Sundays, there is a live DJ outside and I was glad it was not too loud to carry on conversations. For appetizers: -Arancini - Surprisingly delicious. I did not expect for the appetizer to be presented like three crispy meatballs. -Aperitivo Sliders - I loved the caper aioli on the lamb sliders! For entrees: -Beef Filet à la Plancha was served with Anna potatoes (now easily my favorite kind of potatoes!), baby carrots, and gorgonzola butter. I've had better steak elsewhere, but the sides complemented the dish beautifully. -Salmon à la Plancha was served with roasted cauliflower and laurel risotto and it was absolutely superb. I'd definitely order this again, especially with a side of those amazing Anna potatoes! ;) There was a huge mirror in the ladies' room so perfect for selfies or pics with your girlfriends. There was street parking as well as valet available. The area is still in its development phase, but I can already see it becoming a popular destination where patrons can stroll and enjoy a variety of local businesses. Dress code is business casual/dressy is best. But I did see some people in sneakers and tshirt. Located in EADO, driving up you think you might be lost because you're driving into apartment area. But there is parking at East River Garage with different rates. If you're lucky you might find street parking. There isn't a huge sign saying Aperitivo, but there are A frame signs telling you where to go. While it was a bit rocky at first because I don't think they were prepared for the vast amount of people to show up, on a Wednesday of all days, but eventually it was settled. The place was buzzing with lively views, soothing live band, friendly people and carefully crafted spirits. Once you reach the waiting area, depending if it's at capacity, you'll wait in the lobby while, bouncer/elevator attendant, Kevin, makes his rounds as to when people can enter based on availability. One suggestion is to have a list to check people in, it was a bit chaotic just standing in the lobby trying to keep up and guess who was next. Everyone was scattered and just standing around. Once you turn the corner and walk through the doors, the breeze and ambiance transports you into what feels like a a hidden terrace in Tuscany full of elegance meeting escapism. Service: 5/5 Fortunately, I got to sit at the bar to see all the magic and action that mixologists extraordinaries Rico & Angel, prepare drinks served with a side of humor and banter. The downtown views are captivating and the ambiance within is upscale yet relaxed. Got to talk with the manager, Eric, he was helping serve tables as it was very busy, but great, friendly guy. House-cut truffle fries with Parmesan and garlic sauce 4/5: Bursting with flavorful all around, the only thing is that when they arrived they were cold. If they had been warm or hot would've made it 5/5. I look forward to returning as they work out some of the hiccups, they've only been open for about 3 weeks so it's understandable they are trying to smooth out some kinks. Love what they have done with this location. I originally visited for a foodie event and got to explore all throughout the premises with the best view of the city skyline. Now they have that second half of the area closed off for special restaurant related events. Aperitivo has a pretty strict dress code catering to a more Instagramable upscale vibe. It's uniquely Houston although not entirely European comparative to Italy vibez. I would say, in Italy, the dress is more laid back, earthy and airy as it gets so incredibly hot there so you will see a lot of shorts, flowy dresses and walking shoes/flats. The service is similar in that our service was exceptionally attentive! Frequently checking up on us and making sure we were satisfied, even going as far as to give us an additional dessert on the house. The venue is up on the 5th floor with a strict reservation only check in on the 1st floor. They are known for their drinks so, you are led to the bar to wait for your party. Marble countertops with under lighting, custom chandeliers drape the indoor space! Boutique chairs add depth to the average tables giving the entire bar an elevated elegance that is hard to match with other dinning establishments in the houston area. When you look up at the ceiling, you can see what appears to be good accents painted within the ceiling so it looks like a moving sea of gold pastel seaside. If I could describe this restaurant, it would be "Charming yet Sophisticated" as there were lots of business meetings and dates occurring here. I recommend you order the Panini as it's filling and comes with a side Caesar salad. It has a slightly crunchy outer texture due to the ciabatta press and is loaded with mortadella, spinach, tomato's, fontina, pesto and more. The balsamic vinegar and olive oil added a nice touch. It gave a mild yet savory taste with a slightly Smokey flavor due to the peppercorns. What an amazing spot! I went here around 830pm on a Friday for drinks in the rooftop outdoor table area! You feel that 5 star service from the beginning. It is very high end and well done of a space. The staff adds to that luxury feel! They were truly great and made the whole experience the top notch service! Also - the drinks were very affordable for what you were getting here. I ordered a Hugo Spritz and it was $16, which is a STEAL for this area and with this amazing of a view! Beautiful place. Perfect mix of music and ambiance while still being able to have conversation. Came here for desserts, luckily they had open seats at the bar as I didn't have a reservation. The bartenders were very kind and helpful. We ordered the limoncello tiramisu and the creme brulee. The presentation was very nice. The limoncello tiramisu was more like a limoncello tart than a tiramisu, but it was still enjoyable. The creme brulee was a coffee full flavor and it was so smooth and creamy with that crisp sugar glaze on top. Desserts were $11 each. View from the terrace was beautiful. There's also space on the same floor where you can rent out for events. The decor was Italian based and so beautiful. Would definitely return and try some of their food offerings. A perfect way to end Sunday funday at one of Houston newest rooftops. We arrived at our reservation time were promptly taken up the elevator and seated. The view from the rooftop is amazing and the space is nicely decorated. The wait staff are so kind. The menu is very limited and pricey. I ordered the Ti Amo Lychee cocktail which was ok. We shared the truffle fries 10/10 and the seasonal bread pudding 7/10. The establishment had a nice vibe but I hope they expand the menu more. read more

This is the best new rooftop bar in Houston in my humble opinion. The decor is so chic and pretty, our waitress was great, the ambiance was lively but not overwhelming plus the drinks and food were good. We ordered the Mediterranean Trio and Truffle Fries. The trio was good and more than enough for two people. The fries were pretty good, but not my fav (I'm obsessed w/truffle fries). To drink we had the Paloma E Melon and Aperitivo Spritz. The Aperitivo Spritz reminded me of a Hugo Spritz. They only offer valet, their hours are weird and you have to make a resy. Absolutely go check it out I'm sure you'll love it! read more

We came in today (Sunday) Great service, good ambience, and great view of downtown. The negative : music is too loud , this is supposed to be a place to relax and unwind, enjoy each other company, and good conversation. The loud music defeat all of this . Lower the sounds level for people To have conversations. I still recommend this as is new. I was not a fan of this place. Great location with a great view. I didn't realize it was neighboring restaurant to another place I recently visited. It looked much larger on Instagram than it is in person. TBH, it feels a bit cramped in here. If you're walking out you will have to be careful if there are folks at the bar and folks sitting near the bar. Food was meh. For an Italian restaurant I expected better. Where is my table side parmesean? I've not been to Italy to know if this is a thing there or not, but I've come to expwct it here. Congrats for being the first place where I could not eat all the truffle fries. It was not good. I had to ask for the Parm because there was a smidget on it and it just tasted greasy. I failed at taken photos of the place when we got there. It got a bit too crowded to take some later and avoid getting shots of other ppl. The extras. Parking and automatic gratuity. I guess this is the way these days. Valet is $15! They are slow. The "free" parking is limited. Be ready for 20% gratuity.
