We were seated outside and it was quiet for the most part with a good environment to eat. We started with the crab beignets and spinach dip. I can say the dip was really good. The beignets left some to be desired. Its not quite what we were expecting. Think more boudin ball vs beignet. The chili sauce that came with it definitely livened it up. We also ordered the smoked old fashion and the espresso martini(not the one with tequila) both solid drinks. The espresso martini is potent in a good way. The old fashion was made correctly and the smoke was a good addition. Next we had the chicken royale and the Hawaiian ribeye. The chicken royale was really good. The potatoes were creamy and flavorful, the chicken was very good and had good flavor. Between Arturo and the ribeye, this is why they get 5 stars. The ribeye was allllll the way worth it. Smashed potatoes as sides. Crispy and the perfect pairing. I could eat that ribeye every day and will need to work in pineapple into my steak nights at home. Finally, we had the rum cake. Great way to end the night. We are both fans of any type of butter cake and this hit the spot. Ice cream to cut through the richness of the cake. Great dessert. A great experience. Great night. I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh, creamy, and had a generous amount of Parmesan and crunchy breadcrumbs. For my entrée, I went with the Turkey Club with truffle fries. The sandwich was stacked with turkey, bacon, lettuce, cheese, and all the classic club fixings. The truffle fries were the highlight for me. Crispy, flavorful, and loaded with Parmesan. Of course brunch called for mimosas , and we definitely enjoyed a couple of those! Dessert was the bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and pecans. It was warm, rich, and sweet, and the ice cream melting over the top made it even better. The Thompson is beautiful, so the atmosphere definitely adds to the experience. Overall, I enjoyed my visit, but nothing completely blew me away. Still, $25 for three courses during Houston Restaurant Weeks is a pretty solid deal, and it was a nice way to check out Sol 7.

The chicken sandwich is solid. Only issue was the chicken was a bi my dry and the bun was over toasted but flavor was great. The BLT was also one of the best I've had. My guest had the fun drinks; Space Moon- the bartender described it as a balanced PB&J. It was just that!! Bourbon with a hint of sweet with some bitter from the Campari on the back end. Then topped off with a little PB&J cookie. The second drink was some Peach drink- I forgot the name- but it was also a whiskey drink topped with a peach gummy candy. The rest of our party had eaten and fully finished and my reorder never came. I decided to cancel my order so that we could leave. My husband ordered food, received half his order. Had to remind the waitress of the missing main dish. My son ordered a soda and had to wait over 10 min to receive after reminding the waitress he never received it. Family friend requested a substituted item and had to remind the waitress after receiving his food that the item wasn't substituted out like asked. Take note that none of the protein we had has any flavor...just the breading and sauces. (Lobster, burger, chicken). The passion fruit mimosa had no hint of flavor...it tastes like we drank a cheap bottle of champagne. No quality water available...we were approached initially with tap water bottled in a glass bottle like it was filtered. When we asked for mineral or sparkling water...they were out (this was shortly after opening) Only had Ozarka (in a plastic bottle). Too much back and forth for a $250+ bill. Then you automatically add 18% grat when honestly it wasn't worth it. We've paid less for much better service and quality of food. Proceed with caution.

The berries are baked into the pancake as well as topped off, so it is decadent without being too heavy. I also enjoyed both the lychee margarita and the lychee martini. Both were satisfying, but if I had to go with only one, I probably would choose the lychee margarita. I also appreciated the birthday surprise of a nice chocolate, mousse delight. What I enjoy most about the patio experience is the well curated aesthetic. There is actual intentionality with making sure that in the middle of busy River Oaks shopping district, you still feel like you are in a whimsical far away place. I also really enjoy the "Bossa Nostra" remix background music of many popular hits that have been framed to be more relaxing melodies. I would say the menu is well-rounded and balanced, there are healthier options as well as a little bit more rich menu options. I've enjoyed myself thoroughly and look forward to dining here again.

The one downside is that it doesn't have lifted tables so you do feel like as if you're eating over a coffee table of some sort. Our server was Noah and he was phenomenal! I had an idea of what I wanted because I looked at the menu prior to arriving. Although some things had changed from it. I opted for the avocado toast as a lot of the meals felt really heavy. I am glad that I did because it was the perfect amount of food and it was very flavorful. The bacon really made it pop! I still think about it to this day. Now the one thing I will point out that is a bit annoying is that if your party spends over, I want to say $150 (or maybe it was $250) they add a 18% gratuity to your bill. That wasn't the problem that I had. As I knew that from looking at the menu. My problem was that they don't bring you a printed receipt and just bring the terminal without informing you that they are essentially trying to sneak an additional tip on top of the one they have added. So that's just something for those to be mindful of as it is not based on how many people are in the party, but the amount of money that the party spends. Nonetheless I would return especially for their sound lounge event because it sounds really chill and dope.

I think they go a little overboard with saying that having food here is like traveling the world and breaks down barriers. I like the concept though. They could do more with the decor to give it more of a world traveler vibe. They definitely tried. They were playing American hip hop music, which does not fit the international theme. We got the three course dinner, which was $60 each plus tip. The food was good but did not feel like it was worth the price. For appetizers, we got the Mochiko Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce. We liked the chicken a lot, and it came with a sweet mango chutney and spicy mayo sauce. The pork belly was alright. It was pretty standard. For entrees, we got the Singaporean Shrimp Laksa and Nigerian Suya Skewers. I liked the noodles and curry, but the fish cakes were not that appetizing. The skin was much bigger than the meat inside, so it would weirdly inflate or deflate. The shrimp came with their tails on, so I got my hands slimy with curry. I did not personally try the beef, but I was informed it was a 3.85/5 and 4/5 with the sauce. The laksa was a decently sized portion, but the beef was quite the small portion with a few chunks and a bit of rice and tomatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the Orange Torta Caprese and New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding. I was kind of confused why the chocolate cake was called torta. It was very small but nice and rich. The orange flavour was strong. The bread pudding, on the other hand, was very big. Although it wasn't pudding. There was a large piece of the bread in whole form. It was delicious. I did not taste bourbon.
