We came here during Houston Restaurant Week, and I noticed that the website has still not been updated to reflect what happened to the former owners. We had a 7pm reservation for two, and it was in a corner with a small table and high bar stools. It was very hot. We were sweaty, and I am normally very cold in restaurants. I think they go a little overboard with saying that having food here is like traveling the world and breaks down barriers. I like the concept though. They could do more with the decor to give it more of a world traveler vibe. They definitely tried. They were playing American hip hop music, which does not fit the international theme. We got the three course dinner, which was $60 each plus tip. The food was good but did not feel like it was worth the price. For appetizers, we got the Mochiko Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce. We liked the chicken a lot, and it came with a sweet mango chutney and spicy mayo sauce. The pork belly was alright. It was pretty standard. For entrees, we got the Singaporean Shrimp Laksa and Nigerian Suya Skewers. I liked the noodles and curry, but the fish cakes were not that appetizing. The skin was much bigger than the meat inside, so it would weirdly inflate or deflate. The shrimp came with their tails on, so I got my hands slimy with curry. I did not personally try the beef, but I was informed it was a 3.85/5 and 4/5 with the sauce. The laksa was a decently sized portion, but the beef was quite the small portion with a few chunks and a bit of rice and tomatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the Orange Torta Caprese and New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding. I was kind of confused why the chocolate cake was called torta. It was very small but nice and rich. This one has been on my list for a long time. I saw them on Houston restaurant week so we decided to give them a try and I'm glad we did. Valet is a little tough here because the parking lot is small, but they managed to do a good job all things considered so kudos to them. Food: the food is absolutely amazing. Their version of Jerk Chicken is very unique. Full of flavor and very tasty. Every bite was amazing. I will say, though if they were to make this on an open pit or a flame pit like Caribbean hot pot I think it would really add to the flavor but all in all the way they do it. It's very unique and it's very good. The bed of rice that is served on is phenomenal. I've never had rice that good. Also, I don't even eat vegetables, but the greens are amazing. The lamb chops were a little tough. My girl ordered them, medium rare, and it was tougher to cut them. So maybe it was just a bad day but they were OK. Everything else was amazing. Solid dinner at Traveler's Table during the 2026 HRW month. The main thing that I felt was lacking was the quality of their appetizers and desserts - to me, these two courses were average/meh. Not bad, not great, ultimately not memorable. However, their entrees were MUCH better! I got the Nigerian Suya Skewers, and it was so flavorful and delicious. The meat was tender and the beef was so flavorful that I barely used any sauce with it - it was good enough to eat on its own. I did enjoy the roasted garlic yogurt though when I decided to use the sauce. So good! My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Tikka, which was a sizeable portion. I enjoyed my skewers more, as I've had Chicken Tikka a million times, but his was still good as well! We both enjoyed our dishes. I will say for the desserts that I would recommend the Orange Torta Caprese or the New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding over the Burnt Basque Cheesecake. The restaurant has a nice open vibe to it plenty of indoor seating in a smaller patio outside as well. I liked the different options on the menu, many different flavor profiles, and combinations coming together so that you experience cuisine and spices from around the world from your dining experience. Our server did a good job of providing recommendations and telling us a little bit of background on the restaurant, which was very nice. They have a great cocktail menu as well as some options to get some flights for margaritas and other drinks. I tried the our little Havana, which was very tasty and refreshing. We were sat right away for our 6:30 reservation, however, the waitress was a little rude to me when I mentioned it needed a kids menu. They have a coloring sheet, but no kids menu... which is fine i just didn't like the rude response. I ordered the jerk chicken because I LOVED the jerk wings at T Cart. I was so disappointed because my chicken was not completely cooked on the inside. It was a little red (bloody) and felt raw in the middle. I didn't like how the waitress said "I'll have them cook it well done for you" when it obviously was not cooked thoroughly. Then another lady (maybe a mgr) apologized for the chicken when she brought me a new plate and blamed on the "marinade" they use for the chicken. My husband got the oxtails and enjoyed it, but was not enough to visit again. My son loves his cheese flat bread pizza also. My husband and I also enjoyed our cocktails. I've been to travelers cart several times. I've actually only visited traveler's table for cocktails and to go food. I actually did an in person visit this time for dinner on Sunday. Just a note they close at 2:30 and reopen again at five for dinner service...some of the brunch items like the crab samosas and the oxtail empanadas are on both menus (dinner and brunch) The crab samosas are amazing. I wish I had more even at this moment. Everyone is always so welcoming and helpful here....Everyone but the rude ass valet drivers outside. I mentioned to my dining mate who arrived before me how rude the guys were. He told me that he got into it with them also and another person almost got into a fight with them Having a nasty attitude and expecting a tip for a free service is crazy to me. The espresso was a lighter version more of a flavored coffee than a strong coffee taste. We got the butter chicken, crab fried rice and the ribs. The butter chicken was bomb I heard and the ribs were flavorful and moist. The crab fried rice was a huge portion, soft shell crab was fried perfect and the egg topped was a nice touch. We ordered lamb shaksuka and substituted the lamb with tofu. It was super flavorful and served with bread. Inside the shaksuka, there was a boiled egg, crumbed cheese, and cherry tomatoes topped with parsley. For those of you who have never tried this, think of a flavorful tomato soup, that you split over bread. We had also ordered the Ube pancakes, and the Ube pancakes were really famous for this location. I feel like I see online all the time showcasing these pancakes. There was a citrus, whipped cream, with fruit, Boba pearls and a caramel sauce drizzle. My only complaint about the pancakes were that they were dry without the drizzle. I wish that there was more moisture inside, overall the flavors were really balanced. They offer many drinks - alcoholic, mocktails as well as lattes. There's a versatile drink menu. Service was fast, and our waitress consistently checked up on us. The interior of the restaurant was also very fun and modern with glass panels for natural lighting. I would recommend you make a reservation online on the weekend because it gets very packed. When you pull up on the street, the lot is very small. There is valet parking offered, but remember to carry some cash with you. The valet is very friendly, and they handle everything pretty fast in the parking lot. But, if you don't want to use valet, there are more locations for street parking in the Westheimer neighborhoods. We tried a little of everything starting with he crab samosas, and crispy pork belly. I will have to say the crab samosas were our least favorite despite it being their top seller. We didn't really care for the curry aspect, it over powered the crab. Our favorite was the crispy pork belly! We tried the Suya, red snapper, bone marrow and Mexican chocolate cake. FINALLY checked out traveler's table and it was good, but didn't quite live up to the expectations, I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. We went for brunch and tried a variety of food and drink options and oddly enough the drinks were the star. We really liked the Hurricane mimosa, Our man in Havana, and the brunch shot flight. For apps, the mini lobster rolls were quite tasty and the guava empanadas were good but needed more filling. The best entree was definitely the fried chicken and waffles. Ube pancakes were honestly a bit dry and my Italian eggs Benedict was more sautéed spinach than anything else. Our waiter was very friendly but service was quite slow and we had to ask for the wine list three times before receiving it. They were pretty busy and the manager even came over to help at one point, which was appreciated. It was also SO hot in the restaurant. It was an unexpectedly hot day so maybe they just weren't running the A/C at a low enough temp? But I was genuinely sweating at our table. Overall just seems like it was a bit of an off day as I've heard great things from multiple people in the past. I want to come back for dinner and give it another shot! read more

My husband and I came here for a much-needed date night. We've been to their sister restaurant a few times before and is our first time here at their upscale one. We had a wonderful waiter and gave us a lot of recommendation. But the treatment kind of fell off towards the end when he was held up by a huge party for a good while to the point where we changed our mind about desserts and after dinner drinks and had to go. The cocktail "come and take it" was balance and flavorful. The crab samosa is a hit. It is crammed with crab stuffing. It is amazing and you get two different kind of dipping sauce with it, Tartar and butter. This was the first that any restaurant has ever done for us, but they actually split our soup in half for us so what's pictured is the half the soup. The duck pad Thai was amazing!!! I wish I had that instead. I had the Caribbean braised oxtail. I wasn't a big fan. I felt like I was tasting more of the sauce and carbs. I asked for the mango and spices on the side. The mango was a nice plate cleanser in between bites. The ambience was really nice , definitely upscale compared to their Travis's Carr location and something that you should dress up for. This is good for a nice formal celebration dinner or date dates. Or fancy Bestie night. There is complementary valet at the front. They have a sign that says do not park across the street. read more
