    Mexican Spiced Flourless Chocolate Cake
    Mykel W.

My husband and I were so excited for our date night so we could experience TT. It was an amazing experience. We loved the concept of trying different cuisines from all over the world. We tried a little of everything starting with he crab samosas, and crispy pork belly. I will have to say the crab samosas were our least favorite despite it being their top seller. We didn't really care for the curry aspect, it over powered the crab. Our favorite was the crispy pork belly! We tried the Suya, red snapper, Mexican chocolate cake. Everything was delicious! The service was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Still amazing food - valet available but street parking if you don't mind waking a few blocks. Nice open patio that is covered which was helpful during the rain tonight. Music was fine and not too loud. Helpful waitstaff. Pluses 1. Good drinks (spiced trader, Oaxaca chocolate, expresso martini) and good food like short rib and adobo snapper 2. Bread pudding Areas to improve None Short rib was good quality and quantity and very rich flavor that accompanied well with polenta and heirloom carrots. Weather was cool and we had the patio to ourselves this Sunday evening. Highly recommended!

    Lamb Shakshuka (tofu substitute)

I love the whole thing of travelers's table. I've been there twice now and it never disappoints. It's a great spot for brunch. The party I was with was vegetarian, and we split the meals together. We ordered lamb shaksuka and substituted the lamb with tofu. It was super flavorful and served with bread. Inside the shaksuka, there was a boiled egg, crumbed cheese, and cherry tomatoes topped with parsley. For those of you who have never tried this, think of a flavorful tomato soup, that you split over bread. We had also ordered the Ube pancakes, and the Ube pancakes were really famous for this location. I feel like I see online all the time showcasing these pancakes. There was a citrus, whipped cream, with fruit, Boba pearls and a caramel sauce drizzle. My only complaint about the pancakes were that they were dry without the drizzle. I wish that there was more moisture inside, overall the flavors were really balanced. They offer many drinks - alcoholic, mocktails as well as lattes. There's a versatile drink menu. Service was fast, and our waitress consistently checked up on us. The interior of the restaurant was also very fun and modern with glass panels for natural lighting. I would recommend you make a reservation online on the weekend because it gets very packed. When you pull up on the street, the lot is very small. There is valet parking offered, but remember to carry some cash with you. The valet is very friendly, and they handle everything pretty fast in the parking lot. But, if you don't want to use valet, there are more locations for street parking in the Westheimer neighborhoods. I parked around a four minute walk away in one of the neighborhoods behind the restaurant.

Gonna start off with the one single solitary bad, and then move on to all the good. Bad - valet was kinda rude. I wasn't aware it was only valet parking in their parking lot so I pulled in and parked. A few minutes passed and a guy walked over and knocked on my window and told me this was valet only. So I asked him "ok so if you don't wanna do valet where do you park". Guy couldn't have cared less and said "I don't know the street?" I just found his demeanor off putting and rude. He needs to work on his talking skills to people. Anyway.... beyond that - my husband and I are from Austin but we're visiting the area because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided here as the place to eat. We are both vegetarian and they have adequate veg options. I started with the watermelon lemonade and then eventually got a jasmine tea. We got the corn soup and the grilled bread and cheese plate as an appetizer (apologies I don't remember the exact name off the top of my head). For our entrees, both my husband and I got a Latin America dish. It was a pepper with cashew cream and quinoa, a chimichurrin sauce, etc. it was FANTASTIC. They don't skimp on the veg plates and I really appreciate that! Especially when a place isn't entirely only plant based focused. This place really take pride in their food and it shows. I watched a chef plate a meal (from my seat, I could see the kitchen) and he was so locked in and meticulous about it. We were checked up on constantly, our waters never ran out, and our waitress was so cool and down to earth. We tipped her well. At the end, our waitress brought us out two complimentary champagne flutes as a congratulations for our wedding anniversary. It was unexpected but so sweet! We really enjoyed it. We both left this place happy and very full. Def worth a visit if you're in the area!!

It was a decent experience for a dear friend's birthday. 4 of us dined on the patio. The service was pretty good but not great. My water was never refilled but he did bring out food quickly. We ordered the provoletta cheese appetizer which was tasty. Imagine melted provolone cheese with peppers and a dollop of pesto. It was served with toasted bread. I'd get it again. The hummus with brisket. The hummus was good and the brisket was good. It was a good shareable appetizer. The snapper ponchatrain was delicious. I wish it was a larger potion of fish. I would order this again. The blue crab carbonara was delicious and decadent with si egg yolk mixed in. I would get this again too. The truffles flatbread was meh. I didn't care for it. They brought 3 scoops of dessert for my friend's birthday. Ube, vanilla, and matcha. It was ok. The bread pudding that we ordered was very sweet but tasty. Overall a 3.5 star experience but rounded to 4. Please see my pics and like my review and photos if you find them helpful.

This place is definitely a must try if you can. The restaurant and staff are very nice. I had an upcoming flight so I brought my luggage and they were able to hold on to it for me while I enjoyed my meal. Their menu has a good amount options to pick from. Salmon Tartare bites were great. The mix was subtle yet you can taste everything as well and a nice crunch from the rice. Soft shell crab fried rice. First the presentation was amazing having little crabs on the plate. It tasted great. A lot of crab flavor in this dish from the chips and the rice and the small fried crabs. The small fried crabs were very salty though.

Great food selection , trendy ambiance and great service . Would live to try more but maybe next time we come back ! So much dishes to explore still . Definitely coming back !

Natural light and plenty of plants makes the place feel warm and cozy.

It starts with the unique "ski lodge" type of architecture on the outside, and tasteful travel inspired decor on the inside. Service was great, and you could tell the servers enjoy working there. The food is also travel inspired, and there really is something for everyone on the menu. I believe this would be a great place to bring a group, and everyone could order plates from "around the world" and share the choices. We did brunch, and the drinks were complex and unique flavors, and my meal was jerk chicken and waffles, which I have never seen that particular combo anywhere else but here. The waffles were light and fluffy, the butter had a welcome hint of sweet, and the jerk chicken was spicy, but in a warm spicy way, and not a painful hot way. Would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Traveler's Table (TT) - where you're tastebuds are free to "move about the cabin", fly free, and explore a "passport" to international inspired cuisine! TT is magical. It's decadent. It's an explosion of flavors. You can take a trip without leaving the table! Beautiful. Simple. Delicious. Here at TT reservations are key. And it's best to make them in advance. You may luck up on a weekday night (like we did on a Monday) where there's plenty of time slots to pick from, but plan ahead if trying for a weekend. Parking is valet, but there is limited street parking available on the residential streets. Patio seating, bar, and indoor seating is available. I enjoyed the culture and the art displays on the wall or hanging, very nice! I've been hearing all about thus place all these years and I am just trying it. Shame on me, I can't believe what I've been missing. Shout out to our waiter Luis for his charm, knowledge and suggestions on food and drinks. He took amazing care of us, and made our experience that much more enjoyable. He suggested I try the Snapper on a bed of greens and red beans/rice which was "chef's kiss"! Absolute perfection. Served with the lightly crisped plantain that tasted like mashed potato...omg!! My friend enjoyed their short ribs and couldn't stop raving about it (I had a bite, I can see what the raving was all about. Tender and tasty). I was also recommended their award winning Flor de Amor cocktail, my friend had their bourbon flight. For dessert, Mexican Chocolate Cake. Listen! This was more than a meal, it was an experience! TT is the perfect spot to enjoy with friends, a date or anniversary, or solo...either way, it is worth the try. I can't wait for the next time. Definitely check it out if you haven't already. Enjoy!

Travels Table absolutely delivered an incredible dining experience from start to finish. Aiden was our server, and he was phenomenal, attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and on point the entire time. He made great recommendations and ensured everything came out perfectly timed. I ordered the Louisiana fried chicken, and wow crispy on the outside, juicy and packed with bold Southern flavor on the inside. The seasoning was spot on and the crunch was everything you want in fried chicken. My wife had the crawfish and grits, which were rich, creamy, and loaded with flavor. The crawfish was fresh and tender, and the grits were smooth and comforting without feeling too heavy. We also split the Japanese mushroom toast with shiitake peppers and smoked salmonand this dish was next level. The earthy mushrooms, subtle heat from the peppers, and smoky salmon created an incredible balance of flavors. Creative, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Between the amazing food, inviting atmosphere, and Aiden's top-tier service, Travels Table is definitely a must visit. We'll absolutely be back.

There's complimentary valet but it can get busy. Highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The service was great and the menu had a nice range of options. It's family friendly but not too loud or hectic and the server gave great recommendations. Kept it simple w/ a breakfast plate. Wasn't a fan of the sausage but everything else was tasty and it was a good portion. Def will come back and Try more

Came on a Sunday evening with my book club group. we had a reservation but I'm sure with smaller groups you could get a table. The parking lot is a pain in the butt but they have complimentary valet. we started out with some Drinks- I had a sunny place for shady people- I really liked the coconut cream and cinnamon flavors in this. Apps we had Argentinian provoleta (they didn't have pao de queijo that day) it was basically grilled cheese but with lots of flavor- a group favorite! I tried the crab samosas as well- they were OK if you like crab but our group was not big seafood fans. We all tried a bit of each others foods. The butter chicken is not the best one I've had it's a little too lemony for my liking. The dish I ordered was the Nigerian skewers- I reallyyyyy enjoyed these and would 100% order this again. The Madiera-braised beef short rib was a close second and the heirloom carrots with it was cooked perfectly! Overall the food and company was great! Our server was quick and efficient. I would definitely come back.

The place is really cute to eat out with a group of friends. This location has a small lot so valet is complimentary. All the food came out fairly quickly and the service was great. All the dishes were really tasty, they could've had a little more dash of seasoning but nothing you can't out a little hot sauce on. It's nice to come here and try different cuisines from different regions. With that being said I'd give it another try if I'm feeling adventurous

Ask the Community - Traveler's Table

Is it good for ladies lunch?

    ABSOLUTELY!!!

Is this restaurant/establishment allow dogs on a leash?

They have an outside seating area! I saw a couple with a dog last time.

Sitting at the bar for dinner?

Yes you can eat at the bar.

    What is the noise level?

Fairly quiet. We were able to hear conversations at nearby tables ( unfortunately).

Was this the place that was featured on DDD?

Yes. Worth a try. Nice craft cocktails.

Do you need to make a reservation for brunch?

Walk-ins are available, however for brunch this place is typically crowded. Sitting at the bar is always an open seating option.

How is parking at this restaurant?

    There is complementary valet

Is this a kid friendly restaurant?

I went for brunch on a Saturday. I can't say I recall seeing children but I don't think you're not allowed to bring them. Just more of an adults environment.

What is the dress in this restaurant? Is there a full bar? Do we need reservations?

I would say nice casual. There is a bar, about 8 seats (unsure if you can order food). Reservations are highly recommended - especially for the weekends.

If you had to choose between brunch or dinner, which would you choose? (Both isn't an option for now)

Have only eaten dinner but the brunch menu also look awesome!

    Do they have happy hour?

    No Happy Hour :(

    Is this restaurant halal?

    It is not

Is valet only tip or a set price?

    Tip only

I was thinking of going here for brunch. Well if be ok for me to bring my 3 year old?

I mean no one is going to stop you but I wouldn't consider this a kid friendly restaurant.

Is it good for big groups?

They're super accommodating so call and ask them and they'll advise you. I think 20 or so should be fine.

    What is the suggested dress?

I think smart casual is appropriate here!

Is the outdoor patio dog friendly?

Yes, page says dogs are welcome

Hello, do you offer any vegan options? If so, can you give some examples? Thank you.

However I thought the music was a little too loud, because I could not hear my party across the table. We finally determined we were sitting right under a speaker. Prior to this a manager did ask if we were comfortable at our table, due to my mobility issues. If mobility impaired it's best to sit on the main level, especially if the restroom is needed. Otherwise, there are about 4-5 steps, to go through the kitchen. The kitchen is a huge process!!! I was impressed!Service was pretty good. They were knowledgeable, and got our orders correct. At times I felt our questions were answered a bit snippy, but it didn't persist. My party did feel a bit rushed by staff asking to pick up plates in the middle of our meal. This was a bit disruptive, because I would move plates to the edge if I want them removed. The food was really good. The cons for me is the 1% cutlery charge to help tip the kitchen staff, in addition to the 20% regular tip. They apparently do this to not raise menu prices. It's not a make or break thing, I've never seen it before nor was I made aware of it. It might be on the menu somewhere...idk. Additionally, valet parking is available for a fee. Most restaurants offer a birthday dessert, but this one did not. I would return to enjoy a few menu items like the queso, G & G Salad, and the oysters! These were really good. So for me, it really depends on what one wants to experience.

He ended up being one of the best aspects of our experience that evening. Our waitress wasn't nearly as good. We started by asking for ice in the water from the waitress since they just give you room temp water. After 10 mins of seeing her serve other tables and ignoring our request, we then figured the water boy would make it happen...and sure enough he did. We then ordered the grilled oysters, which are very lightly cooked, almost seemingly steamed more than anything, but they were very good regardless of the cooking method with the sauces and garnishes and pickle juice added. Next up was ordering the entrees. The menu here is a little strange with numerous vegan choices with strange titles and only a few items with protein. To top it off, there are not many choices period. The waitress explained that the left side is basically the apps, and the right side is basically the entrees. I knew I wanted to try the wagyu flat iron steak which is priced pretty high here, compared to other wagyu flat irons I've had at other restaurants across the US. We couldn't really decide on a 2nd main dish then the waitress mentioned the off the menu special which was a scallop pasta so we picked that thinking it sounded delicious. The entrees come out about 15 mins later, and we take our first bites and we both thought, oh no, if we share the other person across from me isn't going to like this dish because it's too salty. I tried the steak first and noticed the sauce being extra salty, then I tried the pasta and the pasta was way worse, but the scallops didn't seem to be affected. We immediately told the waitress the next time she stopped by....and she just said okay, and walked away. I figured she would go get the manager....but nope...she just kept on serving other tables. At this point we thought to ourselves only the oyster app was decent.....and no reason to look at the dessert menu since we had already spent over $100 on food we could hardly eat. Sure enough, the waitress stops by a 2nd time and asks if we'd like to see the dessert menu. I couldn't leave fast enough and told her we'll skip. Needless to say we both left hungry as the portions were not only not edible, but also fairly small. The water boy also stopped by and offered to turn on the heater if we get cold. Boy, I wish he was our waiter instead. For a supposedly Michelin-starred restaurant, I feel they really got this one wrong.

Their chicken sandwich is a must try and has gotten well deserved accolades. Perfectly breaded, toasted bun, and very juicy. We paired it with the churro French toast, an almost cloyingly sweet (but perfectly cooked) dish that definitely needed a savory balance. Their bacon is delicious, super thick with a slightly herby flavor. The evening hours can get loud between the crowds and the DJ, but the vibe is still really cool and chill. Definitely one of the more unique, fun spots of the Montrose/Upper Kirby area.

The only unfortunate part of my experience was that the two of us at my table got the same dish - biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was dense but softened under the rich and savory gravy, and I got my eggs over easy to get the yolk mixed in. I also added some of their house-made habanero curry hot sauce, which is absolutely delicious. I'll definitely have to try a few other dishes next time! Their coffees are also great, with unique flavors for their lattes like spiced guava and molasses. Both of these were super tasty, hot and iced! Ultimately 93' Til is staying on my brunch list as a top tier choice, I can't wait to come back!

After entering, you are immediately greeted like family in a relaxing environment but with top notch food. It was my friend's bday so we celebrated with complimentary bubbles which was a nice touch. We enjoyed a large portion of their limited/rotating menu that did not disappoint. The tuna was my favorite. 10/10. A very extensive, higher end wine list complemented the meal nicely. Definitely need reservations -- book as early as possible. Seating is very limited especially for larger parties. Parking --- street parking around the block. Wasn't too difficult. Definitely a must try!

We made reservations several days in advance and still were only able to get patio seats. The vibe of the place is so Houston. It's a really nice restaurant - inside is small and cozy, decorated beautifully. The patio only has 2 tables but it's elegant. And it looks out at the highway, billboards, downtown, and abandoned homeless encampments. During dinner, we had a bachelorette party bus park beside us and a couple shirtless guys come up from the bayou with fishing poles. But it works - that's Houston! Food itself was good, but not great. I'll give it 5/5 stars for originality - each dish was unlike anything I've had elsewhere. - ratatouille- 4/5 - it was interesting, and mostly loved that it was soaking in some delicious olive oil. - broth- 4/5 - a nice little spicy kick, but otherwise was just okay - Tuna sashimi - 5/5 - fish was fresh and tasty! Appreciated the crunch between the layers of tuna. - French cheese pancake - 4/5 - generally can't go wrong with bread and cheese. It's interesting, and I liked the green onions topping it. - Fried shrimp and shiso- 4/5 - didn't love the sauce this came with, but otherwise this almost tasted like a jalapeno popper with shrimp. - snapper - 3/5 - poached, and pretty bland. Came with a very fishy seaweed reduction on the side. - potatoes side - 2/5 - don't get these unless you're looking for just boiled potatoes. They're pretty flavorless. Overall, interesting food for a one time visit, but unlikely a place we'll return to.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

Parking is pretty easy, there's a big garage that is pretty cheap, or you can park for free in the neighborhood. They have patio seating available if you wish to sit outdoors. This is a Spanish tapas restaurant, and their menu is very big it was pretty overwhelming to look at. Luckily for us, Richard locked in and ordered everything for us. If we were able to come a bit earlier we could've ordered during happy hour which has a lot of good discounts on their tapas What we ordered: - patatas bravas with chorizo - by far our fav dish of the night. The sauce is so so good. It's a must get, but I would pass on the chorizo next time - albondigas morunas - I enjoyed the lamb meatballs with cinnamon onions, couscous was good too - Plato de jamon Serrano - good app, love how you can customize it any way with the cheese, fruits, and olives - gambas al ajillo - shrimp in lemon garlic olive oil and red chili peppers, solid but not anything life changing or a must order - calamares a la plancha - grilled squid with roasted garlic and olive oil, very citrusy and unique - pemientos de padron - tasted just like air, really is just a Carrie for the lemon aioli which was really good - pescaditos Fritos - same as the pimento peppers. Came with harissa aioli and spicy tomato - sangria - we got some kind of jumbo size for a good deal. Good for sharing

Our server Ray was really kind and explained the menu concept to us and was so helpful in pointing out some delicious orders. We decided on several happy hour offerings - the chicken and beef empanadas, croquetas de patatas, bombas de queso, toasta de lengua, and a full order of the raba de toro (oxtail). For drinks I had the happy hour house sangria and piña loca. The sangria came out first and was so refreshing and with such a lovely aroma and spice. The piña loca was more of a miss for me - it tasted a bit like pineapple candy and was overly sweet. We had all our happy hour appetizers next. I was a bit surprised at how small the portion sizes are - keep in mind that the happy hour orders are half of the tapas plates, which are already small and designed for sampling. We split the empanadas and I adored the beef cheek empanada - the meat was seasoned so nicely and was deliciously soft. I also really liked the flavoring of the toasta de lengua. The croquetas and bombas had a lovely crunch to them. The oxtail came out next and the meat really was coming off the bone - so deliciously soft and well seasoned. It came with a side of bread and dipping oil that was a fantastic complement. We were amazed at how fast the service was. The staff were quick to fill up our waters and Ray checked on us the whole time we were there and took trouble to make sure we had a great experience. It's quite spacious with both an indoor area and relaxed outdoor patio. Overall this was a really tasty restaurant and I'm glad we got to try it. I would just keep in mind on your visit that it is on the pricey side, though the happy hour lets you get a nice sampling of their extensive menu. Till next time!
