This may be new favorite place. Came here Friday for happy hour with a friend. This place was bustling with ppl at the bar by 5. If you want to avoid the wait I'd get there closer to 3 when happy hour starts. I arrived around 5 and had to wait about 30 mins for a seat. Luckily I made it in time to try happy hour. I ordered two peach Bellinis and woah those things are deadly! Literally 1 will have you floating lol. Very good very strong! My happy hour burger was yummy as well, but the truffle fries really stole the show. My friend tried the Bellini too and was pleasantly surprised. After that round she ordered a Lemon drop martini & I ordered an espresso martini. My only gripe is my martini came out half full while hers was bubbling at the rim lol. What's up with that? We love Hudson House! This is our 4th time to eat here and the food does not disappoint! The Popcorn Chicken is seriously some of the best you will ever have. And the dynamite shrimp, certainly lives up to its name. The dining area is very beautiful and classy! It is very reminiscent of a New York restaurant- so nicely done. We went to celebrate our daughter's 28th birthday along with her friends. Everyone enjoyed it. Nina was our server and she was a delight! Very disappointed with this visit. The main reason to come here is for Happy Hour, but we were informed that Happy Hour is only available at the small bar area and not at the dining tables. This restriction wasn't made clear when we made our reservation through OpenTable. If this is a new or existing policy, it should be communicated much more clearly so guests can make informed decisions before booking. To make matters worse, the regular menu selection isn't particularly impressive, making the Happy Hour offerings the primary draw for many customers. Overall, the lack of transparency regarding Happy Hour availability and the limited food selection made for a frustrating experience. This restaurant was super packed on a Saturday afternoon, so I would definitely recommend making an online reservation. There is valet parking available, as well as two free parking garages on both sides of the restaurant, which is convenient. When my party first arrived, we witnessed an unfortunate incident. An elderly man missed a small step while following the host to his table, and it was easy to see how that step could be overlooked. He ended up injuring his face and bleeding quite a bit. Thankfully, it did not seem to be a severe injury, but I would strongly recommend that the staff make guests more aware of this step for safety. Our server, Dajiah, took great care of us. She was knowledgeable about the menu and kind throughout our visit. The food was also amazing. I had the Hudson Salad, which was a very generous portion and incredibly filling. It could easily be shared between two people. My friend ordered the Chicken Parm, and it was just as delicious. I would highly recommend both dishes. Our waiter was dry, rushed, and barely acknowledged us the entire meal. Very few things bring me as much joy as when I experience a new favorite happy hour spot for the first time. Hudson House has definitely creeped its way into my top 5 Houston happy hour spots. It's either you find a spot in the strip center and you have to pay for it or you valet, it was really busy though and the valet seemed backed up so I had to just park and wait for someone to help me and had my friends just go inside because we were going to be late for our reservation if we all waited. When we arrive, there were no seats at the bar so we had to put our name on the waitlist for a table. We were told it would take up to 45 minutes to receive a table. We took our chances and waited. HH does a good job of making sure there is good and consistent service. There's plenty of seating along the bar area and good variety for small groups and larger groups. All good fun. It was a cranberry mignonette sauce which we both have never tried before. It was light and acidic, perfect to top on oysters.
