This restaurant was super packed on a Saturday afternoon, so I would definitely recommend making an online reservation. There is valet parking available, as well as two free parking garages on both sides of the restaurant, which is convenient. When my party first arrived, we witnessed an unfortunate incident. An elderly man missed a small step while following the host to his table, and it was easy to see how that step could be overlooked. He ended up injuring his face and bleeding quite a bit. Thankfully, it did not seem to be a severe injury, but I would strongly recommend that the staff make guests more aware of this step for safety. Our server, Dajiah, took great care of us. She was knowledgeable about the menu and kind throughout our visit. The food was also amazing. I had the Hudson Salad, which was a very generous portion and incredibly filling. It could easily be shared between two people. My friend ordered the Chicken Parm, and it was just as delicious. I would highly recommend both dishes. HH does a good job of making sure there is good and consistent service. There's plenty of seating along the bar area and good variety for small groups and larger groups. All good fun. The dishes I would routinely eat and recommend is their FISH TACOS blackened white fish, mild cheddar, coleslaw, Jack's salad, chipotle remoulade; FRENCH CHICKEN sous vide & thinly sliced, cajun spices, herb blend, skinny fries, arugula salad, lemon beurre blanc; THE CHEESEBURGER double thin patties, American cheese, sliced pickles & minced onion, Hudson sauce and their HH East Coast Moonpoint Oysters. I arrived for good food and fun but left with an injury due to the restaurants negligence. They have an extremely dangerous and unmarked step that leads into the dining area. It is a dark colored step with no tape or markings highlighting that it's there. There are small signs on the wall, but they are barely noticeable as they are gold and do not stand out. It is further made unsafe by host staff and patrons standing directly in front of the step and signage due to the small entryway. After I tripped over it (because I didn't see it), fell on my knee and into a passing waitress, I asked why the step is not clearly marked. I was told by the manager that they "train their staff really well to tell people about the step" but that clearly didn't work in my case. I was given an ice bag for my knee by the manager but she never came to check on me after that. And for those wondering, no, they didn't comp my meal. Never going back. read more

I've been to Hudson House once before and I absolutely love the salads. However, this time I came in for happy hour and I wanted to try that lobster roll that everyone is always raving about. So, happy hour is only in the bar and the bar area but then they also do this weird thing where they reserve the bar area for large parties coming in due to the layout of the restaurant being all booths. So when we arrived at 5 and tables in the bar area were getting up by 5:15, they were telling us that the bar area was reserved for 6 PM reservations. We asked them if they could honor the happy hour in the section that we were in since we couldn't sit in an open and available table that was in the bar area and they wouldn't. Just left a bad taste in our mouth because that's not good hospitality. Lobster roll was just eh and fries could have used salt--no aioli. I was drawn in by the beautiful & delicious Hudson Salad, my only wish going in was that the salad tasted as good as it looked and let me tell you, it certainly was!!
