I subbed the sausage for chicken. The garlic cheese bread was honestly a highlight...so good and perfect for sharing. We took the servers recommendation, and got a side of vodka sauce to go with the bread. I also had the Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp, and a great balance to everything else. I called to ask for a credit back to my card and they said they would. The bread with truffle butter was great, the beef carpaccio was good but a little heavy handed on the dijon. The eggplant parm was enjoyed by those who had it. The calamari portion was good and the pickled veggies that came with it were excellent. I thought it was well seasoned and executed, with nice texture from the pasta and pine nuts along with a great pasta shape to hold some sauce. The eggplant parm was probably the only eggplant parm I've had that managed to be crispy. If you enjoy eggplant, it's worth ordering. I was expecting their meat sauce to be unique since it's their specialty, but it was just a solid meat sauce pasta. The shrimp scampi was done well, nice and crispy, but not too greasy. Uptown North Italia! Love that there's free garage parking? North Italia always is a great spot for great food with great prices I think . My go to is always the spicy rigatoni vodka. It has a bit of a cake to it with the creamy tomato sauce. I personally enjoy spicy pasta with the Italian sausage. Service was great. Upon arriving, parking was no issue as we parked on the street but they do have a garage. The place was clean and aesthetically beautiful. Let me start by saying I like Italian food and I think North Italia is one of the best Italian restaurants in Houston. I put my money where my mouth is and we frequent this restaurant (particularly the Post Oak location) at least 6x per year, maybe more. Their food quality, ambiance, and service is consistently impressive. Their kitchen is viewable through glass windows so you can see all the cooking that's going on. Their pasta is freshly made from scratch, and my go-to entree that I order about 50% of the time is their House Speciality Bolognese. The only bolognese that I've tasted that comes close is homemade by my hot wife, but it's a ton of work so we just go to North Italia to get our bolognese fix. All (and I mean all) of their other options are quite good as well, so give them a try. We usually always get a pizza on the side as well and end up taking half of it home. Some tips: - Parking: there is a parking garage close by that is shared with The Original Ninfa's and other retailers. I usually have no problem finding a convenient spot, but I'm just pointing this out in case you're expecting free, surface lot parking. - Reservations: you may get lucky here and there and get a table quickly, but I make a reservation 99% of the time.
