I really wanted to try the salad here. Saw a few folks with it and it looked delicious. Definitely something to visit later. But for today I tried the pepperoni pizza. For my dips I had the salami xo, fancy ranch and chili oil. This place opens at 5 and was totally full when I arrived at 5:20 on a Wed. They have happy hour for the first hour and the price for pizza and drinks is significantly reduced. So the crowd is understandable. I tried one of the happy hour drinks. Smoke Signal $6 on HH Mezcal, Citrus, Sweetener For the dips. The fancy ranch kinda tasted like ranch with dill and something else. It was giving thousand island vibes. But not. It was good. Great service and amazing food. We made a dinner reservation and were instantly seated. The only downside was the interior room had a bathroom odor as it was directly connected to the restrooms. Celebrated a birthday with a group of 7, so we recommend calling ahead! Heads up, bring your own cake is $5/head. Ordered a Ceasar salad, 3 Pizzas + 2 Pastas Sharing, this came out to: ~ 1-2 leaves of ceasar salad since it was whole romaine leaves ~3 slices of pizza per person, got to try all! ~0.5-1 pc of angolotti- delicious creamy filling, similar to ravioli but decadent ~2-3 noodle strands of bigoli, like a thick spaghetti in creamy, spicy tomato sauce and crispy guanciale. The restaurant was dark with nice ambiance and an outdoor section that wasn't used since it was so hot. Another 10/10 experience at tiny champs!! Service is always excellent. Love the vibe here because it can be a date night or a casual dinner with friends and the food never misses. I don't know what exactly it is about the braised butter beans but I love them so much. The sweet peppers are such a nice surprise with every bite. The oysters are also fantastic, and I don't usually like raw oysters, but the topping makes them addicting. I've never had a bad pasta here. The agnolotti is such a fun filled pasta, the sweet peas were delicious. The bicoli was perfectly al dente and the guanciale bits were so savory. The salami piccante pizza is a classic and the hot honey just sends it over the top. Big fan of all the cocktails too. The best dining experience of my trip to Houston! We visited on a Wednesday during happy hour and had an incredible meal from start to finish. The restaurant itself is absolutely charming, with a warm, stylish atmosphere and adorable decor that made the space feel both inviting and memorable. We ordered the carrot hummus, pepperoni pizza, bigoli with crispy guanciale, tomato, and pecorino, and finished with the vanilla ice cream sundae. Every dish was outstanding, and I would gladly recommend any of them. A special shoutout to Fran, our server, who was phenomenal. They guided us through the menu, provided excellent recommendations, and made sure our water glasses were never empty. Their attentive and friendly service elevated an already fantastic experience. Wowow! We came here on a double date and this place is so so delicious! The cocktails here the group said were very good. The appetizers were so good as well. Our favorites were the carrot and burrata dip (great flavor and love the focaccia served with it) and the arancini (delicious vodka sauce to pair). First time trying this restaurant, I didn't make a reservation and it was packed so I dined in outside by the patio which was pleasantly welcoming. I was craving pizza so I ordered the Italian sausage pizza with no Italian sausage and added hot honey on the side. The pizza was amazing. Service was amazing as well. I would visit again just to dine in inside as I loved the open kitchen concept. I went after 8pm and found street parking, I can't attest to parking prior to that. I would visit again. As for pizzas, we decided on the greens pizza and the picante (no salami). Both were so freaking good. Ever since I tried Nancy's Hustle, I have had my eye on Tiny Champions and I finally saw a dinner reservation and had to grab a spot. We came here Saturday evening around 7:30 and it was quite busy in the main dining areas and bar. Our server was Francisco and they were great through and through (even gave me a great drink recommendation/modification). We started with the Nordic Thunder and Train Hopper drinks and the fried quail. We also ordered the fennel sausage pizza (+ fancy ranch and hot honey) and the stuffed shells with seafood cream sauce. Everything we had was 10/10 AMAZING. I'm so so happy that I finally got to try this restaurant and add it to my list of favorites. As far as the decor and aesthetics, the interior front is quite small but the back area is actually massive (including the patio). The patio has a similar vibe to its sister restaurant, Nancy's Hustle - very open, fun, and well-lit. Like Nancy's, the food holds its own. We started off with the Cucumber Salad and the Braised Butter Beans. The salad had this crunchy sesame brittle on top which gave it a good contrast to the creamy tahini dressing. There was a little heat to it as well. The beans were excellent and lived up to their reputation. We got the Crab-Stuffed Shells and the Risotto also. My favorite was probably the crab pasta. With all the hype surrounding this place and countless recommendations, my expectations were sky-high. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to them. It was absolutely packed inside - the atmosphere was lively and very loud. We had a reservation for the patio at 7pm, so it was hot (no surprise), though the fans made it somewhat bearable. A server brought us water, and then it took nearly twenty minutes before another server came to take our order. We started with the baked feta in a tomato confit, which was so amazing I almost wish I had ended my meal there and left on a high note. Next came the crab-stuffed shells: tasty and flavorful, I'd give them a solid 7/10. Finally, we had the rigatoni--a dish so overwhelmingly salty that I could barely taste anything else. I couldn't tell if the bolognese had pork, beef, or neither, because the salt completely overpowered everything else. I'd give it a 1/10. By the time the server came back to check on us--long after we'd finished eating--I had to decline dessert because I felt sick. As a tough critic of pizza, I was a little skeptical of tiny champions despite it's highly recommended reputation around Houston. But I have to say, Tiny Champions does indeed live up to the hype! The setting is a little more intimate and cozy, while still remaining classy. We came during happy hour - and WOW. What great steals during this time. I highly recommend you go. Not all the drinks are half-price, but most are, as well as glasses of wine and beer, and they are definitely worth the try. Also, the cheese, the greens, and the pepperoni pizza are all half off during happy hour. I enjoyed a glass of Riesling, and also really liked the ricotta dreamsicle drink (which is non-alcoholic). The orange tastes so fresh in the dreamsicle, and it kind of felt like a super fresh orange juice with cream and sparkling cider? Super good. The wicked game was also good (also non-alcoholic) and was the rest of my family's favorite. The old fashioned that my brother ordered was very strong if you're into that (I'm just not an old fashioned type of gal) but I think you would appreciate it if you're a fan of old fashioneds. For food, we tried the greens pizza, the cheese pizza, and the potato pizza here. All were great although my favorite was probably the regular cheese. The potato pizza was good too and a nice change from your standard cheese, but what can I say I still liked the cheese as my favorite. We also got the oysters as part of the happy hour deal, which were good and worth a try for me for the price, but maybe not my favorite appetizer to order for before pizza. We also got the baked feta and the mushroom lasagne with ricotta and pine nut arugula pesto to share. The baked feta was really good and you could tell the bread was freshly made, but maybe not great enough for me to order next time I come. The mushroom lasagne though, was SO delicious. The pesto also tasted incredibly fresh and wow it was such a good combination with the mushroom. Would definitely get that again. For dessert, we picked the coffee ice cream sundae and the brown butter cookies as per our server's recommendation. The coffee ice cream sundae comes with donut holes, and this dessert was good just not my favorite. I do like coffee ice cream but it was nothing out of the ordinary for me. This place was 20/10, and I will be coming back here again. Every single thing we ordered was great. If I had to rank the items, there wouldn't be a "worst" it would just be amazing to still great.
