This place was 20/10, and I will be coming back here again. Every single thing we ordered was great. If I had to rank the items, there wouldn't be a "worst" it would just be amazing to still great. We got the burrata and buttered beans for appetizers. The peppers in the burrata were so tangy and added a zing the same way the sauce and toppings in the buttered beans dish did. The fresh dill in the buttered beans took it to another level. Also, we got the risotto and greens pizza for our entrees, and both felt really rich and flavorful. I was truly impressed because the dishes all seemed to be done very simply and in a true Italian fashion without too much pomp or fuss but done so well and to the highest level. We also got brown butter cookies for dessert and they literally tasted like Christmas. The drinks were also solid - would recommend Nordic thunder for anyone who really likes guava. This is truly a gem because while it may look humble on the outside, the inside is popping, and lively, and way bigger than I thought. Once you enter, there's the main seating area, but you can go further back, and there's a whole separate dining area, and there's even a patio. You can tell this place is super popular because the earliest dinner reservation we could get was 8:45 pm on the patio, but someone cancelled their indoor reservation so we got to sit inside instead. First time trying this restaurant, I didn't make a reservation and it was packed so I dined in outside by the patio which was pleasantly welcoming. I was craving pizza so I ordered the Italian sausage pizza with no Italian sausage and added hot honey on the side. The pizza was amazing. Service was amazing as well. I would visit again just to dine in inside as I loved the open kitchen concept. I went after 8pm and found street parking, I can't attest to parking prior to that. I would visit again. It's been a minute since we've been here. We had a concert at Meow Wolf and decided to give it another try. We got the sausage pizza, quail, beet salad, ice cream with a shot, and the frozen cherry cola drink. Can I just say that the food was fantastic and the service excellent? Pizza was very very good. The winner out of the food items was the quail. It was juicy, perfectly breaded, and the ranch and dill helped to round out the dish. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Tiny chimps!! Always a fun treat to dine here. Starting off with the dreamsicle mocktail, this was sooo yummy and unique. Not too sweet either! As for pizzas, we decided on the greens pizza and the picante (no salami). Both were so freaking good. The greens pizza has so much garlic in it and the way the greens are CRISPY makes all the difference. The picante was also amazing, especially if you love the combo of ricotta and hot honey. Ever since I tried Nancy's Hustle, I have had my eye on Tiny Champions and I finally saw a dinner reservation and had to grab a spot. We came here Saturday evening around 7:30 and it was quite busy in the main dining areas and bar. Our server was Francisco and they were great through and through (even gave me a great drink recommendation/modification). We started with the Nordic Thunder and Train Hopper drinks and the fried quail. We also ordered the fennel sausage pizza (+ fancy ranch and hot honey) and the stuffed shells with seafood cream sauce. Everything we had was 10/10 AMAZING. I'm so so happy that I finally got to try this restaurant and add it to my list of favorites. As far as the decor and aesthetics, the interior front is quite small but the back area is actually massive (including the patio). I loved the art work on the walls, the gender neutral restrooms and the neon light at the front. It really set a very artsy-decco vibe throughout. Ordered the special pasta of the day. Wish i could remember the name because it was absolutely phenomenal. The pasta had crunch from nuts, stuffed with i believe delicious mushrooms. Very complex flavor profile. I got the hot honey pizza which was amazing as well. The only comment is that the hot honey gets a bit overwhelming in flavor as you get to the third slice. Service was great. I came in with no reservation and they managed to squeeze us in with the request that we leave by a certain time to accommodate those with a reservation. This is my favorite restaurant in Houston and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it!! Definitely recommend reservations because it gets busy! The staff are so lovely, the servers here are the best. I really appreciate how the menu changes with the seasons. Braised butter beans- these were a perfect app/side dish. The broth is very savory and the croutons are a perfect texture, crunchy but soft in areas soaking up the broth. The beans are a nice texture, maintaining some chew. The cheesy mixture on top adds some creamy component and the dill adds freshness. It's really a great dish all around. Hanger with polenta- cooked perfectly. The steak was so flavorful and tender with slightly crispy edges. The polenta had a nice sweetness that paired well with the meat. It's 8 oz of meat which is perfect to share between 2 people while also enjoying other dishes. Potato puree pizza- all of the pizzas are great, this one is so fun and whimsical! The chips on top are a nice touch. The crust is perfection. Added chili oil on the side which gave it a nice little kick. Chocolate layer cake with chestnut hazelnut ice cream- oh my, I will dream of this dessert. The mascarpone frosting wasn't that sweet, the sharpness of the mascarpone helped cut through the sweetness of the cake. The caramel sauce, praline/nut crumbles, and candied kumquats created texture and extra flavorful elements. The chestnut hazelnut praline ice cream was truly remarkable, so fragrant from the nuts. The patio has a similar vibe to its sister restaurant, Nancy's Hustle - very open, fun, and well-lit. Like Nancy's, the food holds its own. We started off with the Cucumber Salad and the Braised Butter Beans. The salad had this crunchy sesame brittle on top which gave it a good contrast to the creamy tahini dressing. There was a little heat to it as well. The beans were excellent and lived up to their reputation. We got the Crab-Stuffed Shells and the Risotto also. My favorite was probably the crab pasta. For dessert we got the Coffee Sundae with hot fudge and little donut holes. The ice cream was great - not too sweet - and the fudge made it even better. As a tough critic of pizza, I was a little skeptical of tiny champions despite it's highly recommended reputation around Houston. But I have to say, Tiny Champions does indeed live up to the hype! The setting is a little more intimate and cozy, while still remaining classy. We came during happy hour - and WOW. What great steals during this time. I highly recommend you go. Not all the drinks are half-price, but most are, as well as glasses of wine and beer, and they are definitely worth the try. Also, the cheese, the greens, and the pepperoni pizza are all half off during happy hour. I enjoyed a glass of Riesling, and also really liked the ricotta dreamsicle drink (which is non-alcoholic). The orange tastes so fresh in the dreamsicle, and it kind of felt like a super fresh orange juice with cream and sparkling cider? Super good. The wicked game was also good (also non-alcoholic) and was the rest of my family's favorite. The old fashioned that my brother ordered was very strong if you're into that (I'm just not an old fashioned type of gal) but I think you would appreciate it if you're a fan of old fashioneds. For food, we tried the greens pizza, the cheese pizza, and the potato pizza here. All were great although my favorite was probably the regular cheese. The potato pizza was good too and a nice change from your standard cheese, but what can I say I still liked the cheese as my favorite. We also got the oysters as part of the happy hour deal, which were good and worth a try for me for the price, but maybe not my favorite appetizer to order for before pizza. We also got the baked feta and the mushroom lasagne with ricotta and pine nut arugula pesto to share. The baked feta was really good and you could tell the bread was freshly made, but maybe not great enough for me to order next time I come. The mushroom lasagne though, was SO delicious. The pesto also tasted incredibly fresh and wow it was such a good combination with the mushroom. Would definitely get that again. For dessert, we picked the coffee ice cream sundae and the brown butter cookies as per our server's recommendation. I had been eager to try Tiny Champions for a long time, and this past Sunday, I finally got the chance. With all the hype surrounding this place and countless recommendations, my expectations were sky-high. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to them. It was absolutely packed inside - the atmosphere was lively and very loud. We had a reservation for the patio at 7pm, so it was hot (no surprise), though the fans made it somewhat bearable. A server brought us water, and then it took nearly twenty minutes before another server came to take our order. We started with the baked feta in a tomato confit, which was so amazing I almost wish I had ended my meal there and left on a high note. Next came the crab-stuffed shells: tasty and flavorful, I'd give them a solid 7/10. Finally, we had the rigatoni--a dish so overwhelmingly salty that I could barely taste anything else. I couldn't tell if the bolognese had pork, beef, or neither, because the salt completely overpowered everything else. I'd give it a 1/10. By the time the server came back to check on us--long after we'd finished eating--I had to decline dessert because I felt sick. We were invited here for dinner with some friends, we came on a Wednesday night and they do deep dish by the slice with some crazy combinations. If you come on Wednesdays differently give it a try. The aoli was a bit salting and I honestly thought it was tartar sauce and had to check the menu again to see what it was. Mushroom risoto, $18: Moderate sized portion. The rice was cooked ok, but could have used a few more minutes. It was creamy but not overly so, about what I would expect from a risotto. Large nicely cooked pieces of mushrooms. The biggest issue with the dish was the amount of salt. It was very very salty. Because of this we did not even finish all of the plate. Sausage pizza, $20: Good size pizza that looked great. However the toppings were bit bland. Like there was not flavor coming through. In fact the only flavor that was coming through was salt. The sauce or cheese was extremely salty. The crust looked good, but did not have a great chew. It reminded me of flat bread. In general it was an OK pizza, not bad, just salty and nothing about it popped and made you want more. This was another item we did not finish and did not bring home. I had heard great things about Tiny Champions and was very excited to finely get a chance to try them. We came on a Thursday night and they were packed- thankfully we had a reservation! The space had that cozy, bustling Italian restaurant energy with tons of close tables. Our waiter greeted us right away, brought water, and walked us through the specials, which was a great start. We ordered the chicken Milanese, the tortelloni special, and the crab-stuffed shells. I'm not totally sure what all was on the tortelloni besides pistachios, good olive oil, and parmesan (possibly brown butter sage??), but it was phenomenal- rich, nutty, and definitely a standout. The chicken Milanese was thin and crispy- solid, but nothing to write home about. I did really enjoy the herby aioli underneath though! The crab-stuffed shells were the most filling and hearty dish. As one EaDo's most well known establishments, Tiny Champions has become a destination for quality cocktails, intimate ambiance, and excellent food. It is everything but tiny but most definitely a champion of the constant evolving Houston dining scene. The scene screams Brooklyn vibes, with a tinge of hipster mixed with the contemporary approach to food and beverage. It's a quality place for a date, a nice option for a group outing with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are in the gentrification range but most importantly, the execution is on point. Cocktails are a great way to start. The evil eye is my kind of drink, featuring hints of lime and pomegranate with a heavy dose of tequila. Cruise control has the best of both worlds in mezcal and tequila with a nice mix of carrot, coriander, and pineapple. When in doubt, their old fashioned is also an excellent choice. The food skews heavily towards Italian, but is a good mix of small plates, pasta, salad, and pizza. The radiator ($26) semi lives up to the hype despite the steep price tag but the octopus bits is what likely sets it apart from the rest. The bolognese features both beef and pork, with a good amount of rigatoni. The ricotta agnolotti is under appreciated with a really lovely lemon butter sauce. The pizzas deserve their own mention for being good and consistent. The benchmark for pizza in Houston is already lower than in most places so this is one of the better options that I've seen inside the loop. The crust has a nice bite without being too chewy or crunchy. The sauce to cheese ratio is also quite good, and the seasoning inside the sauce is on point. The ingredients are the best part and since most everything here is quality, it's really hard to score bad pizza at a place like this. I have no issues with the service. Bartenders are friendly and the hostess does their best to keep the crowd at Bay despite nightly waits and high demand. That's what happens when a place is doing well, which is why I think Tiny Champions deserves all the praise. read more

Omg I can't even believe my own review. I'm now so obsessed with tiny champions that once I uber parceled a pizza since they are pick up only. Everytime the pizza is just so good and baked to perfection. The side sauces like the fancy ranch, hot honey, and garlic chili crunch elevate it even more. When I say I'm craving pizza I specifically mean tiny champions. The staff is also just so cool and like hip. I want to be like them when I grow up. We got there without a reservation on a Saturday at 5:15 (they open at 5) and the bar was already full and there was a 1.5 hour wait for inside. It was a bit chilly but we were still comfortable outside with the space heater and they brought out our food one at a time so we could enjoy it hot. Ugh love this place read more
