What a cute and cozy spot in Houston! Came here with some friends on the weekend and the place was packed. We sat in the back while waiting, but the server was still very attentive to us. Despite how busy it was, we only waited about 5 minutes. The inside features a pizza oven and bar in the center, which gives it a really authentic feel. We started with the meatballs, super juicy with just the right amount of acidity, and the bread it came with paired perfectly. For the main course, we ordered the Di Campania and buffalo pizza. The Di Campania was a Neapolitan-style, with a super fluffy and soft dough. The buffalo pizza was a crowd favorite, with a thin, crispy crust topped with absolutely delicious buffalo chicken. We had a great time dining here and thought the food was amazing. Would definitely come back again! read more

I go to 8 Rockets games a year and always go to tiny champions in EaDo for my favorite pizza. Could not get in so tried coastline out. Right up there with tiny champions, as really good Houston Pizza. I am Ffom the northeast so I typically hate the pizza here (except for Tiny Champions, Romanos, Gypsy Poet and Home Slice). I gotta say this is good stuff and highly recommend. I will be adding coastline to my Rockets pregame dinner from here on out and the Houston approved pizza list. read more

I've lived so close to Coastline Pizzeria for a while and somehow never knew about it until a coworker suggested it for happy hour -- glad I finally checked it out. They have a great happy hour deal with half off all specialty cocktails, which is hard to beat. I stayed true to my roots and ordered an espresso martini, and it was absolutely delicious. We also really enjoyed the Caesar salad. They offer two styles of pizza: a traditional pie and one that's more flatbread-style. I liked both, but I'd definitely go back for the traditional pizza next time. Service was great, parking was easy (which I really appreciate), and it has a cute neighborhood feel. However, after finally stepping foot in and dining, I can say, that I am wrong and it's just as good as people say it is. Di Campania: - this was a summer menu and it and was so good! the flavor profile of this pizza blende so well together and crispy bites. OG Grilled: Mozzarella, yellow tomato "pizzutello", garlic, prosciutto cotto, stracciatella, pickled onion, basil - this was so interesting. What a really great neighborhood, pizza joint. It's very affordable for the family. We enjoyed the food and place so much. A very cool vibe while being approachable. Super cool and laidback. Option to get two types of pies here, Neapolitan or Grilled. We tried both in two different trips. Both times it came out incredibly good and hot. The former was nice and chew and the latter super crispy. We tried the meatball and the shishitos. Both solid choices for appetizers, but for me the meatballs won out. The cocktails are very creative and the happy hour list even shows the employees who suggested them. Plain old fun! Don't be afraid to try the zero alcohol options too. They are very good. Now the service was mixed. During the Friday night rush we had a server that was super nice but we were forgotten twice when we asked for things. Appetizer came out with pizza. Manager came out to apologize which I appreciated. However surprisingly he did not offer to comp anything. The next time I visited was on a Saturday afternoon and took my wife to try the crispy pizza. It was not very busy early in the day. The service was welcoming and attentive. I see what all the fuss is about about! I came here on a Saturday night with no resy, for a side quest from a bday party just a block away, with a group of some Yelpers. My first time. We were able to eat as a group at the bar. The place was kinda full, thats a good thing for business for a Saturday night. They have some tables for small and large groups. The place seems a lil cozy/close quarters. Maybe they have an extra back room, or a patio that I was unaware of? But the large pizza oven has plenty of space, and is worth it at a pizza shop. Service- was great. They asked if we were eating or drinking or both. I came to eat not drink. We were easily able to order. Pizza came out piping hot. Server didn't steer us in one direction or the other. I suppose to allow the customer to decide. But it's nice to hear what servers enjoy when going go a place for the first time, just for inspo. Our server made sure our waters stayed full, which I appreciated. I think his name was Derlin, or Derwin? I should have asked him to spell it for me. I hate not giving credit where credit is due. Food- we were torn between the grilled (round) pizza or there napoletana, which I assume is like the pizza in Naples, Italy. The grilled is the style of pizza the US is use too. We had the summer menu. It was perfect! - chili mushrooms were delicious. I think of myself as a pizza lover, so I was excited to try their grilled crust since it was new to me. I wasn't sure I would like it since I usually don't order a thin/crispy crust. But, surprise it was really tasty. Add to that, I enjoyed the uniqueness of the toppings, it just added to the flavor of the crust. The beer was bottle and/or can (no draft), but still worked well with the pizza, so that was okay. Although I didn't try one (this time), they do offer mixed drinks. Staff was friendly. The place is on the smaller size, and the parking lot is shared with several other businesses (signs indicating which spots are for which shop). Coastline Pizzeria has been on my radar for awhile and I finally got the chance to check it out. It is located on Houston Ave and easy to get to. We were enjoying drinks down the street and just made the short walk over. They do have a lot for parking as well. As you walk in, you will notice a narrow restaurant with a bar that takes up most of one side and minimal seating up against the other wall. In the far corner, you will see their wood fired over and prep area, so you can watch the magic happen. We came around 9pm and it was pretty full. My crew was lucky enough to get enough seats together at the bar. To reach the bathroom, you have to step outside to a small patio area, so you can almost say it's outside. Customer service was great. Since we had already been partaking in drinks at a birthday party, most of us just wanted food. I skipped out on cocktails, but from what I hear, their cocktail program is legit. They have a full bar as well with beer, wine and non alcoholic drinks. For food, they have a handful of appetizers as well as salads. I was here for some za though. They have two types of pizza which are the Napoletana or their signature grilled pizzas. Napoletana is the classic pizza originating from Naples, Italy. You get that thin, but soft crust that is slightly charred which gives it a unique flavor profile. I did try a piece of their Diavolo which was topped with San Marzano tomatoes, hot Soppressata, chili oil and basil. It would have been my first choice if I had ordered my own Napoletana pizza. The first bite with everything on it was everything. It was delicious. The pizza was a little floppy though. What I ordered and shared was their grilled pizza, The OG. Their grilled pizzas are essentially a flat bread style. It came with sauce, cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoncini, ricotta, habanero honey, and basil. This pizza was amazing. It was a good portion size to share. The crust had a nice, crispy bite to it. The toppings were distributed evenly and all the flavors worked in perfect harmony. Great pizza! Between the two of us, we ordered the Diavolo napoletana style and the OG Texas style. I fully expected to prefer the Diavolo with spicy soppressata and chili oil vs. the OG with pepperoncini slices and sausage. But it was hard to choose between the two! I might have given the edge to the OG for surprising me. We also started with a simple salad with the vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was honey and lemon flavored and definitely tasted homemade. A great pizzeria and bars for this neighborhood. They have Napoletana style pizza and Texas-Style Grilled Pizza, both are great. The Pizza Napoletana taste really authentic and delicious of course. First, I love they have a private parking lot in the back and there are plenty of parking space. You can enter for the back door instead of go around to the front. As soon as we walked in they greeted us bring us to a table. We looked over the menu and I pick two pizza, 1 Napoletana style and 1 Texas-Style Grilled Pizza style. We also got a new Summer menu item. I've been coming here routinely after their much anticipated opening last year. There are alot of great pizza spots in Houston, but this place just slaps. Armando, Cody, Jason and the entire team are showing Houston how it's done. There's a private parking lot behind the business with some spots along with street parking. If you're in the area, it's very walkable to get to. The layout, including the back patio, is similar to past establishments that called this location home, but the decor and furnishings are just the right feel between upscale and casual. Food Look, this place does some great appetizers and some fantastic pizza. From the apps, I highly recommend the shishito peppers and gulf shrimp. My personal go tos from the Texas style grilled pizzas are the Buffalo and OG while from the Neopolitans the Margherita or Fresca get chosen often. Order with confidence, there's a great spread to choose from! Beverages There's a good selection of wine to pair such Cabernet, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Chardonnay, etc. If you're here for the cocktails, there is a good mix. La Sandia, Liquid Gold, and Harmony & Tonic are all delicious. If beer is your choice, they have a few local crafts mixed with a few typical nationally distributed options. There's even some non-alcoholic options for those interested. Service Always on point! I've said throughout and never had bad service. The only spot where it may fall a bit short at times is the back patio if the entire restaurant is busy. Pricing Always subjective, but they are fairly priced for the value and quality brought. Overall There are many spots in Houston to always try out, but this is one that I find myself returning to frequently for pizza. Ordered two: the first was a Neapolitan-style pie loaded with arugula, prosciutto, goat cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic. Super fresh, light, and flavorful. Terrible customer service. I ordered two pizzas for delivery and only one showed up. When I called, the person told me that they were sorry but whomever gave the delivery driver the order did not realize that there was a second pizza. I completely understand mistakes as they happen, but two things are problematic in this case. First, after I called, I learned that they immediately knew after the driver left but did not try to proactively reach out to me, instead waited for me to call. Second, they merely refunded me for the undelivered pizza and did not even offer to have the other pizza redelivered. The only option they gave me was to come pick up such pizza, but that obviously defeats the purpose of why I ordered delivery in the first place. Too many other quality pizza spots that will own up to mistakes and correct them, so I will never order from them again. read more

A small little pizzeria near just inside where I-10 and 45 meet. We had the strange idea to go there for dinner on a Wednesday night from southwest Houston. At the worst, it was going to take us 50 minutes. Thankfully, it shortened to just over 30 minutes by the time we finally headed out. I had emailed them to see if we could eat anything there before we made the trek out. As a family, we're allium-free vegetarians. On top of that, our youngest has multiple food allergies including wheat, eggs, avocado, peanuts, tree nuts, pineapple, and kiwi. We're on the hunt for a local pizza place that he likes. Right now, the only pizza he likes is in San Antonio and our goal is to find a place that isn't 3 hours away. I normally don't go to eateries with expectations, but as we're trying to find a pizza place for the toddler with food allergies, we compared it to the pizza he likes: gluten free pizza that doesn't look like or taste like gluten free pizza. I received an email back promptly from the owner that was very helpful, so we planned a visit and there we were. Big kudos to that! Most places ignore my requests to advise what we could eat at their establishment. The place is unassuming, located on one side of a small building, next to Brussels cafe. There is a small, shared lot at the back of the building and limited street parking. When we left, someone had temporarily parked in a handicap spot, waiting for a spot to free up. They only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. A busy bar is against one wall with enough seats for maybe 10 people. There are 3 tall tables (think counter/bar height) with bench seats and around 5-ish tables at regular height. In short: the capacity isn't large. Most of the tables were filled by the time we came and we were seated at the tall tables after we said it was okay as everything else was occupied. As it was a school night, I only ordered what we could order with no substitutions. That is, we got: Margherita Pizza - we got 2 and they had perfectly chewy dough with a crisp crust. The cheese was great and topped with basil leaves. No complaints! A classic that was well done. Gluten-free with cheese and the DOP sauce - this looked like a GF pizza. Completely flat but they did sprinkle with dried oregano on top, which is new to us. My youngest took one bite, ate the cheese, and was "done." He proclaimed he was hungry when we got back home. My husband, who is very "meh" about food agreed with me that the pizza was good. My toddler... was okay with it. My eldest liked it and ate one slice (she had eaten before we left and doesn't eat much so I count that slice as a win). Pricing was comparable with the pizza place in San Antonio. That is they were around $20 per pie, plus an additional $5 for GF. So we like them but what knocks off a star is the fact that our toddler wasn't as much of a fan. Service was fairly good but mostly concentrated at the very beginning and very end. They only provided 3 plates and didn't make eye contact and only checked up on us after we moved onto the second pizza. By that time, my husband (the one without a plate) was well into using his napkin as a plate and deemed it unnecessary to get an actual plate. We opted out of dessert due to the time and the kids were getting restless, which was dangerous with how high up they were. I'm short and it's a decent drop for me back down to the ground. There's a bar at the perfect height to rest my feet when you're seated though, so it's not at all uncomfortable. You also get great view into the kitchen and special oven they have if you sit in the tall tables! I wouldn't mind going back, but when we do, I'd definitely try their grilled pizza but with the DOP sauce subbed in... and more toppings. I noticed a lot of the other patrons ordered these attractive looking cocktails from the bar. My kids wanted "juice", too. Hahaha. I've never been to a place where at least one person at every table got something from the bar in addition to the people seated at the bar. I still remember: table to the left got a Bellini and the right got a Negroni. We don't drink, so I wonder if they have mocktails or if that would be frowned upon. Another thing to note: they don't seem too family friendly. No high chairs BUT they did offer plastic cups with lids for the kids after we ordered, which is good enough for a place that doesn't seem to get too many kids. Also, I did try a slice of the GF pizza. It was not bad at all! Pretty good as far as GF goes and I've sampled my fair bit at this point. Though flat with no rise, the dough did have a chew. If you're wondering what my toddler's favorite GF pizza looks like, it basically looks like the regular pizza... but he doesn't get an allergic reaction to it. Coastline Pizzeria is so great I am adding it to my unofficial Top 10 restaurants in Houston list. Everything I tried here was actually exceptional, near perfect. It isn't often I am this impressed with a dining spot, especially these days. Decor-wise, I love the abstract paintings hanging on the wall, the red pizza oven with the letters "HTX," the wooden tables, and the cool bar. One can tell much thought was put into the presentation and ambience. It really has a neighborhood feel, even though the surrounding Sixth Ward neighborhood is sadly mostly gentrified. This is the same exact spot once occupied by Cafeza coffee house, which I unfortunately never got the chance to visit. Regarding service, the front of the house staff here is really good. Everyone was friendly and professional. The waitress was on it, and made good suggestions. In terms of culinary and beverage offerings, EVERYTHING was awesome. I almost never say that about any restaurant. The Grapefruit Piña, a non-alcohol drink, is a reimagined piña colada with coconut, pineapple, mint, lemon and grapefruit. It's such a wonderful concoction! The Tomato Bisque, made with D.O.P San Marzano tomatoes, micro basil and croutons was so delicious I wasn't able to save it to dip my sandwich in (Haha!). As for the Meatball Sandwich on focaccia bread, this is just beyond any meatball sandwich I've tried. And the focaccia is the best! Usually, focaccia served at other places tends to be dry, almost like an afterthought. I stumbled along Coastline Pizzeria looking at other pizza places on Yelp near me. I looked up the directions and saw that I actually pass by it weekly. I've been to Cafe Brussels next door. I told my friend about it, so we decided to check it out. Our server was Jason, who happens to do the cocktails and drinks for them. He was pretty cool to talk to and shared that they've been getting new customers after it was featured on Eat Like a Local by Chris Shepherd. I've seen a couple episodes and love that show! I'm glad they were featured because they deserve it. Parking: We lucked out with one spot open on a Saturday night. It shares a lot with Cafe Brussels and another company, so some spaces are marked specifically for those. Otherwise, there's street parking down busy Crockett St. The entrance from the lot is actually for handicap and takeout, but we noticed people didn't really pay attention or read. Lol. The entrance is around the corner on Houston Ave. There wasn't a hostess, so we walked to the back towards the small patio area. Seating: There's inside and outside dining on the small patio. There's a TV to watch games, and they had college football on. Most of the space was a large open kitchen concept where you can see giant Napoli oven. We sat outside since it was such a nice day. Gotta take advantage of Cali-like weather. The seats are bar height overlooking the gas station on Crockett St. and parts of Houston Ave. Restrooms are in the patio area. I love the decor of black and white framed comedians from Zoolander, Dumb and Dumber, Austin Powers, etc. The food: I wanted to try one of their Neapolitan pizzas instead of the Texas grilled pizza. We got the margherita pizza and added pepperoni and ricotta. We loved the thin style pizza and the fresh ingredients. The San Marzano tomato sauce is so good. It really does taste like the pizza I've had in Italy. I added crushed red pepper and some parmesan just cause I like spice and extra cheese. The pizza had about 6 slices and was perfect for two. I wanted dessert and debated between the cheesecake and tiramisu. Jason helped me decide, so I went with the cheesecake for now. It was like the no bake kind that was more whipped. It had a good graham cracker crust. The mint olive oil and crushed pistachios gave it a unique flavor. The strawberry sauce was a little too tart, but the cheesecake balanced it somewhat. We parked in the lot behind the restaurant and came in for an early dinner on a weekend. It was just before 6 pm so we were able to walk in and get seated. We ordered the diavolo pizza, the tiramisu, and I got the Ghetto Bird (they brûlée a banana at your table!). We got to Coastline around 6pm, and found a parking spot easily. One thing, their signage is wrong. The back door by the parking lot states it's only for pick up and to go only, so I walked all the way to the front to only be led in the same area the back door leads to, lol. Put our name on the waiting list, and the waitress said 30-40 mins. They have a waiting area, and you're able to order appetizers and drinks. The drinks like the espresso martini were good. Not too bad. The wait was definitely longer than 40 minutes, we waited nearly 70 mins. I think they knew the wait was longer than expected so they gave everyone waiting complimentary champagne. When we finally got seated, we ordered so much to feed 6 people. Shisto Peppers- 5/5 Bolognese- 3/5, didn't think it was OG Pizza- 10/10, add pepperoni on it & it's amazing Burrata/ 5/5 H-Town- 4/5 has Khoi BBQ on it and it's okay, would not get again Bianca- 5/5 loved the crust! First I would give 5 stars to the staff. Service was excellent. They did messed up part of the order but were very responsive and the end experience was great. I was expecting the pizza dough to blow my mind bc the advertised long fermentation time but it was not impressive. Taste like dough that was made only a few hours prior. Went here for a double date! Had an amazing time. They had a seasonal cocktail menu along with seasonal bites. Each cocktail was inspired by one of their employees ideas ! That was so cool I love they include their employees in creating seasonal items. Pizza was BOMB! We all ordered a different pizza and then shared some with everyone so we could try it all. Why 5 stars? Because we had a million choices but were so happy we came here. --- --- --- After visiting the zoo, my wife and I *heavily* debated between about 10 different places to try for lunch. Oddly, several of them were pizza spots. I sent a bunch of options to her and let her make the final call. She said Coastline was a go, and off we went. We started off with the burrata appetizer and the server convinced me to try the watermelon cooler drink. These were the best two parts of the experience! The burrata was perfect with the warm bread, which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The plate was coated with a thin layer of olive oil. Do not come here without ordering this! The watermelon cooler was interesting, but I was a bit thrown off by the tomato shrub listed within the ingredients. The server let me know that you could barely taste it, and to be honest, I don't think I could taste it at all. This drink was unbelievably tasty. The only negative is that it was not a huge portion for $8, but I would happily order it every time in the future. For pizza, we went with the H-Town and the Margherita. Both were very enjoyable. Probably 4.5 stars each. I would have preferred to remove the lemon zest from the H-Town, but the wife was intrigued by it and wanted to keep it on. The margherita was just a high quality pizza that would hit the spot on any occasion. And for dessert, we went with the tiramisu. We weren't planning on getting dessert, but the server said that someone else who works here insists it's the best he's ever had in his life. These words worked perfectly to upsell us. Would I say it was the best I've ever had? It's hard to top what we had in Italy. However, it was very enjoyable, also of the 4.5 star variety. I was facing the wall at our table, but my wife was able to watch the staff the whole time. She kept commenting on how precise they all were with every single they prepared. Even down to when our server placed the parmesan cheese for our pizza in a bowl. And the bartender clearly took his role as a mixologist VERY seriously. It was obvious in the quality of everything we tried that the people who work here deeply care about their product. And they were all super friendly too. We were so glad we came here! read more

We came here for lunch on a Friday so we got to try their Texas Style pizzas - we opted for the Buffalo and OG varieties. The Texas style pizza is a long-stretched dough that has a nice crisp to it; more substantial than a flatbread but not quite as dough-y as a hand-tossed. The toppings were delicious on both, but we decided that the standout was the Buffalo - if you are a buffalo sauce fan, this one is a must-get as it pairs the kick of the sauce with the funk of gorgonzola and coolness of ranch dressing. Very good! Looks like they had a lot of cool cocktail options but unfortunately couldn't partake during the workday. Vibe is very laid back; it is a small place with great staff; feels like a place where you could easily become a recognized regular.
