Super chill place with a generous menu. Lots of free parking in a lot. Good seating with tables and booths. Our service was incredibly quick, and he checked in often. Truffle fries were mid, but the pizzas were perfect!

Went to Crisp for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious, and the restaurant has a spacious layout with both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a large bar area that's perfect for groups, they have a private room for parties, they offer happy hour, and a full bar with plenty of drinks and beer options. The service was friendly, personable, and attentive, making for a great dining experience. Although they give you a large amount of food some bites were a tad bit salty. I'd still recommend checking it out and I most definitely will be back to try out their pizzas.

Visited Crisp during Houston restaurant week and I really enjoyed my experience. As soon as I entered, I was greeted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's spacious with a patio, a private room and a wine cellar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried a beer flight, the crab bisque, and the pro figgy goat "wood fired pizza". The beer was just enough without being overwhelming! The crab bisque was a little salty for me but very flavorful. The pizza was my fav! It was cheesy with pecans and jam! A combination I surprisingly enjoyed. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. I'll be back!

    Chicken D'Angelo with spaghetti marinara

Went last night, ordered two chicken D'Angelo. The chicken was overcooked, we had a hard time cutting the chicken. We told the waiter and he didn't offer to remake or replace with something else. Our drinks were not refilled, just water and iced tea. We asked what they had for a birthday dessert and the waiter told us that he could give us a free scoop of vanilla ice cream and we replied no, we want to see a dessert menu. The cheesecake was not cold, it was room temperature.

Unfortunately, this establishment was mediocre in my opinion. Ambiance -3.5 out of 5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute place inside, but lacking something. The bar was huge and literally only a handful of people were there. The decor lacked charm and warmth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did not see the outside since the hostess kindly informed us that there were several children outside. But the pictures of the outside looked lovely. Service -3 out of 5 The server quickly greeted us but she was a little off. She stated her name but was looking away from us when she did it. She'd bring our food and then disappear for a while. Wouldn't be a huge issue if we had everything we needed like silverware, salt and paper shakers. Overall, she just wasn't pleasant. She wasn't rude but kind of serious. Perhaps she was tired. Food -2.5 Here was the biggest problem. The food was really just mid, basic, average, etc. we ordered the pasta Bianco with Salmon. Salmon was cooked well but was bland. The burrata pizza was also okay but came out lukewarm along with the pasta. This also contributed to the overall meh feeling with this food. Overall this place shows promise but it missed the bar. Unfortunately, for us, first impressions are vital since this city has so many good restaurants. So we likely will not be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely spot in the heights! I love the vibe here, the patio, the private room for large parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pizza however is just 'okay'. My party and I came here and found the pizza to be fairly mediocre. We had the Taleggio Florentine, Shady Acres, The Caliano, and the San Fran. Out of the four, we found the Caliano to be the best with the grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, smoked gouda all complimenting each other with honey siracha and home made ranch. Truffle fries and tipsy calamari were great shareables for us and we thoroughly enjoyed those. Our server was extremely friendly and very patient with our large group that walked in. I think for the pizza and the price, it's a okay place overall but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

    Chicken over pasta entree

Service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food not so much. Took a friend for her birthday and we ordered apps and chicken entrees. It was the first time I had ordered something other than pizza or salad. The chicken was so dry that it was curled up on the edges. If you look closely you can see the chicken was dried to the point that is was stringy. It was the texture of a dog chew and I considered bringing it home for my dog had it not had red sauce on it. We had to do a 'birthday do-over dinner' a few days later. I felt horrible. The place is great for pizzas, salads, calzones.. but steer clear from the dinner entrees.

    Sunrise sausage sandwich

The service was amazing. I was seated near the bar so the bar tender was my server but anyone who came by the table would ask if I needed anything or if I was ok. Now on to the food. I will say everything was a bit salty. But not so unbearable that I couldn't finish my food. I ordered off the restaurant week menu and got the crab bisque, sunrise sausage sandwich (no egg), and the brownie bites. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would come back to try their regular menu since the place was nice and not too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice outdoor seating allowed with dogs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Excellent pizza and the crust was crispy with a chew. We meatballs were a little bland. Fries were crispy. Calamari was crispy and the jalapeños had some def heat to them. Would def come back for more pizza.

Went for a quick dinner the night before the Chevron Half Marathon. Great place to carb load!! Wine was also great, decent selection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Gets a little noisy so not the most intimate place, but would recommended for a casual yet yummy dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was good, didn't have really any recommendations said everything was good.

    Lunch menu

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a lovely little spot to enjoy a lunch or happy hour in the heights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You cannot bit this spot for lunch. I enjoyed a very generous "personal" sized pizza and a side salad off of the lunch menu. It was tasty and I had some to take for dinner as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space -- casual, spacious dinning area with a large bar area that would be suitable for families or date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio also looked nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food - a great value for the price point. Parking -- a small to moderate sized lot but could also easily find street parking if full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, great lunch vibes. Happy to have found this spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The service was good here but the food and drinks were underwhelming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a party in the private room which was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They were out of some of the ingredients for my sister's drink so she had to get another option. She didn't really enjoy the second drink but did not want to bother the waitress. The drink i had was disgusting so I ordered a drink I typically drink at other restaurants. It was ok but I could have done without it. The chicken parm dish was sweet and had a nutmeg flavor which was weird. The shrimp and polenta was a tad bit salty but it was flavorful. My little cousin did not like her pizza and didn't get her nuggets until we were done eating. It was my sister's 50th birthday celebration and we now know why the minimum spend was so low.

We came in a big group of 4 families on Sunday around 11 am for brunch. The parking lot was spacious. It was my first time and we came for a Bingo event. The server was super awesome and patient with all the kids. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thankfully there is an outdoor patio area where the kids burned off some energy while waiting for the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the kids cheese pizza which was enjoyed by all of them. I got the Brewer's Breakfast with avocado instead of sausage and scrambled eggs. It was really delicious & finished the whole entree. The flapjacks were perfectly fluffy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The women's restroom was very clean and I saw private rooms that could definitely accomplished a gathering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would definitely come back.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! Parking/Service: There was a small lot on the side of the building, but other than that you might have to street park in the neighborhood right next to it. The décor, wine list, menu, comfortable seating, and cozy atmosphere make it such a special spot. They offer wines for every taste and budget, and the staff is knowledgeable when asked for recommendations. That's why this is difficult for me to write. Despite visiting frequently, I've consistently found the customer service to be unwelcoming. The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.

It's located right at 19th St. and Shepherd near the light. There's a small angled parking lot that can be tight when people park along the fence. It looks like a cute tiny A-frame home with a few patio tables in the front. The inner area has about 6-7 high tables. It's nice and clean inside. The vibe feels similar to H-Town Brewing Co. but on a smaller scale. You can also sit at the bar. I didn't really like the high tables/chairs. They're not as comfortable. It was hot out, and there are mosquitos, so we sat inside. I ordered the salmon plate for steak night. The drinks here are ok, and since I don't really drink, I was looking for mocktail options. In this era, most places have mocktail options with brand alternatives like Ritual, Seedlip and Lyre's or at the least, something with juice, Topo Chico and simple syrup. The female bartender made me a NA margarita which was great. I liked that she didn't make it too sweet or too tart which happens with mocktails that don't have alternatives and are mostly juice or lemon. On the other hand, when I ordered a second, the guy bartender made it too sweet. I didn't like his version. For the alcoholic versions, they seem to have good cocktails, wine, beer and flights. They also have daily specials. Aside from the steak night, they don't serve food here. It wouldn't be my first choice of bars in this area.

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

Colton behind the bar made the experience, he's extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk to; walking us through a thoughtful tasting of wines we'd never even heard of and helping us purchase a bottle from Mexico we never would've picked without his guidance. It's a nice lowkey neighborhood spot with a bar and outdoor seating as well. The ambiance was chill and casual which I am all for. They are pet friendly as I got to see some fur babies come in which is always nice. We started with some glasses of Cabernet and told our waiter we were celebrating my birthday. The food didn't take long to come out and was so darn good. It was probably one of the best steak nights I've had in a while. We had the ribeyes, mash potato, mac and cheese, green beans, and French fries. The steak was seasoned perfectly and grilled to the perfect temperature to my liking. We are still talking about it, I can't wait to come back and try their chimichurri sauce. We ended with the strawberry and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cheese cake. They weren't too sweet and just the right amount of richness. If they aren't on your list for steak night I definitely recommend!
