    Shrimp Boil Experience
    Rosa M.

10000/10 Experience! From the start, Aaron was so sweet and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu for our first visit. We ordered a shrimp boil with potatoes, egg, mushrooms, corn, and sausage, it was absolute perfection! My husband ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo with shrimp. I'm not going to lie, when I first looked at it, I thought, "Ummm, no..." But after seeing his reaction, I had to try it. It was my first time EVER trying gumbo, and wow... 10000/10! Absolutely loved it! The kids got the fish, fries, and apple, and by the time we left, every single plate was completely clean. Not one single complaint. Everything was amazing, and my family and I went home completely satisfied. Thank you, Aaron, and thank you BB's for an unforgettable first visit!

I used to live in New Orleans, so I have a high standards for Cajun food. BB's Tex-Orleans does the classics well, with a Texas twist. I've lived in Houston now for many years and finally got the chance to visit to try their poboy, ironically for 713 Day (H-town represent!) A poboy is near and dear to me, the poor man's sandwich that continues to comfort and satisfy, time and time again. Shrimp is my favorite and this one gave me some major NOLA nostalgia. The bread was crispy on the outside, with a soft inside, it was stuffed with fried shrimp, and came fully dressed (IYKYK, don't skip on the pickles.) I will say that their fries were not my favorite, more of a shoestring style, while I prefer a thicker fry but came with a generous portion. During 713 Day they had a special for this sandwich for $7.13. While I only came for the sandwich, I did see that they have a number of other specials such as $5 frozen cocktails for the whole month of July, and happy hour Monday - Friday 3-6pm. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the service was top notch. I actually stopped by by myself and the server stopped by several times to check on me and even brought me some complementary chips and dip while I waited for my meal. Whether you're dining alone or with a large group, BB's seems like they are there to take care of you and show you what southern hospitality is all about.

First time at BB's this season - Crawfish if you don't know. We come here a lot. Service is friendly Ciara did a great job. We started with the Frickles and Smoked Boudin Link. Then on to the main event. Crawfish were good size for this time of year. BB's tends to start later than others to get the larger mudbugs. Beer is always cold. Drop in. We'll be back.

Ismael was our server today he was awesome attentive and the crawfish were awesome as well it's and of season so sizes varied

Just a little snack, this boil was just enough. 1/2 lb shrimp, crab cluster, alligator sausage, corn and potatos. The crab cluster was a little small, but otherwise all very good and with it. My partner had the crawfish boil which he tends to like each year, one of his favorite spots for crawfish. I'm not a crawfish person but he said they're pretty good size there right now too. Carla was our waitress and she was so friendly, great service!! Everyone there was and usually is super friendly! We sat out on the patio because it was nice weather, nice patio to relax, eat and have a drink!

Bb's cafe is in my rotation of restaurants during crawfish season. Currently (March 2026) they have a lent special with one snow crab cluster, 1 lb of crawfish, shrimp, 1 corn, and 1 potato for $29.99! What a steal! Other menu items I tend to order are the gumbo and fried platters! They have happy hour during the week, I believe 3-6pm

Fried pickles fried in fish oil... YUK!,
    Gold T.

Hey I ordered fried pickles app yesterday and thought they tasted weird. I warmed them up for lunch and again they tasted weird. I realized the fried pickles were fried in fish oil, YUK! Have you ever thought ppl have allergies and what if I had a reaction? This is advice to you as a restaurant, please don't fry everything in the same oil, French fries, pickles and fish, you will kill someone! I will not order fried pickles in the future.

I'm landing in Houston at 8:45 this Friday night, do I need to reserve for two or can I just walk in?

My 12 yr old son is just starting to eat crawfish. Can I order some with no heat (spicy)?

Yes. Just explain what need. You can get him his own pound or so.

I didn't see a drink menu. Do they serve beer there? If so, what kind of beer? Thanks!

Yes, they serve domestic and imported beer, some wine, and a few mixed drinks as well such as hurricanes. As for what kind of beers, think mainstream beers (Bud, Miller, Coors, etc) along with local craft selections and a few seasonal.

What's the price of the crawfish?

$9.99 last time I went. But you should call for a daily rate.

    Are they Sellin crawfish already?

Yes! I had a couple of pounds last week!!

Do you serve crawfish right when u open?

    Yes Ma'am!

Does anyone know what they are charging this year for crawfish?

I ordered the Chimichurri Steak sandwich, which was okay but nothing super memorable in my opinion. My parents ordered the Seasonal GOAT with Summer Peaches salad, which was also just okay. My sister, however, ordered the Lemon Chicken and Farro soup, which was actually pretty yummy and is something I would definitely order for myself. In terms of parking, there's plenty of spots available throughout the MKT area, but you may need to park farther away to snag a spot. Overall, if you're in the mood for a healthier sandwich or salad option and are in the MKT area, this place is worth trying. Maybe I'll come back and try something new.

He was incredibly friendly and working hard, but because he seemed to be juggling so much on his own, service was on the slower side. For the appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Fried Oysters & Brussels, and I got the redfish for my entrée. The Brussels sprouts were flash-fried perfectly, and I loved the sweetness of the chili honey glaze. The oysters had a nice crispy coating, but I found them to be a little bland. The redfish, though, was absolutely the star of the meal. I cleaned my plate. It was served with Hoppin' John and a lemon butter sauce. I had never heard of Hoppin' John before, but it's essentially a Southern rice-and-bean dish, and paired with that lemon butter, it was so flavorful. It complemented the fish perfectly.

I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. We came on a Friday after work and it was packed! Parking lot full (they do valet as well) but we found street parking. Walking in, it was lively and fun and we were luckily sat at the bar. Our bartender, Robert, was awesome and really took care of us. He gave us a rundown on drinks, food, etc. We essentially ordered one of every item on the HH food menu except the plantain and dip (which we'll have to do next time). Their happy hour food menu is essentially a tasting menu, smaller bowls of their main dishes with some apps and test items. There wasn't an item I didn't like but the golden and the fried chicken bites were 2 standouts for me. The golden has perfectly seasoned and grilled chicken with a curry sauce, rice, and plantains. The mixture of textures and flavors is just great on the palate and each bite can be a little different keeping it interesting. Drink-wise, I tried the musa mule, redbush sidecar, and OGA palmer (NA). I really enjoyed the redbush sidecar, it was bright but still had the earthiness of a darker liquor. The musa mule was alright, I thought it was refreshing but not my favorite drink. The OGA palmer was also super refreshing and great if you don't want any alcohol. Overall, I really enjoyed ChopnBlok and am so glad its so close to me now. Happy hour or not, it seems like a great spot to eat, drink, and chill.

This place was super packed during Saturday lunch, so I highly recommend making a reservation…read more Luckily, the host was able to squeeze my friend and I at the bar. Despite how packed and busy it was, the bartenders were super attentive throughout our entire visit. I ordered the following: 1. Coconut Chicken Bites: There was barely any coconut flavor. I would say this appetizer can be skipped as there was nothing particularly special about it. 2. Golden Bowl: Super delicious and easily the best dish I had here. Every bite was packed with so much flavor. I would definitely order this again! 3. Greens & Tings: This had a very smoky flavor, and the chicken was incredibly soft, tender, and tasty. Overall, I'm glad I got to try this restaurant, especially since it was my first time having West African cuisine.

I ordered the Tejano Cesar Zepplin and added double chicken, pickled onions and halved tomatoes with a side of tomato, basil soup and it was all so good. I've never had a zeppelin until before now and it's the best way to describe it is that it's the cross between a sandwich and a salad. What it is exactly is a loaf of bread with the inside taken out so that it's like more of a shell and then it is a salad bowl like mixture stuffed in there. I feel like it's the perfect lunch because It's super filling, but also very light, and healthy! What more can you ask for. Wish I could even give this location 6 stars because I came about 40 minutes before close and he gave me 2 bread puddings for free because they were about to close.

They warm the bread, remove the inside and leaves the crispy outside to fill in with salad. Their salad recipes are good, especially the southwest one with avocados and black beans. Substitutions seem welcome and you get to choose your own sauce. Of course, let's not forget they offer Zapp's chips, which are delicious. Overall great and filling meal. Oh, so many tables to sit alone or as a group. Great place to be ! Leaving satisfied and would want to come back!
