Joey Uptown has been a regular spot for me for the past few years. What I appreciate and enjoy the most about this place is that its always warm and inviting. Be it grabbing a drink after shopping, a quick bite that doesn't have a rush behind it, to a cozy and luxe Friday Dinner; Joey has hit every note for me. Yesterday I decided to hit up happy hour after running errands and perusing the Galleria. The bartender, who's name I did not get (blonde hair with glasses... she was such a sweetheart!!), was excellent with recommendations and truly knew her wine and spirits. Went with the Burger and Wine Combo as well as a Sarti Spritz this time around. Burger was well cooked and flavorful, but I didn't care for the grilled onions (personal preference). On prior visits, I've had the Tofu Lettuce Wraps, the Chicken Satay as well as my hands down favorite white wine Garzon. Joey's will stay one of my favorite places as it has mastered the ability to be luxe and low key at the same time; casual luxury at its best. read more

Fourth dining experience at JOEY Houston in just 3 days, and somehow the team continues to raise the bar. The staff has been exceptional every single visit, but tonight I want to give a HUGE shoutout to two people who made our evening especially memorable. First, Bryte at the hostess stand deserves some serious recognition. She was so patient, kind, welcoming, and genuinely had such a beautiful spirit. Her energy immediately made us feel comfortable and appreciated. That first interaction sets the tone for the entire experience, and JOEY is lucky to have someone like Bryte representing the restaurant at the front door. And a big thank you to our server Tianna, who was fantastic this evening! Her recommendations were right on point, and she did a great job making sure we had everything we needed while keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable. After four visits in three days, the consistency of the hospitality at JOEY Houston has honestly been impressive. Great people, great energy, great food, and exceptional service. We had the steak and ravioli meal. It's was really good. We shared the plate. BUT it was good enough for us to each have one. We also ordered the fajitas. Those were also very good. Our server seemed a novice. But he was ok so I gave him a little better than 22% but not 25%. I probably should have based him at 20%.... Times are hard and I don't want to be a jerk. Had a great experience here while visiting Houston. Sierra exhibited a wonderful service and in her professionalism and friendliness made my time at Joey Uptown very pleasant. She was attentive in a balanced way where I was never waiting, but I also had plenty of space to enjoy the food and ambiance, and made great suggestions. I also really enjoyed the ambiance quite a bit, and the valet service is also 5-star - friendly, attentive, and fast. The food is as delicious as the presentation (very much so). The entrees are creatively and masterfully executed and are there to positively surprise you with exquisite flavor. I would definitely come back when/if I'm in the area again. read more

Everything was great (except the French fries, they were overcooked). Upon entering the building, the smell of food being prepared with fresh herbs greeted our noses. We received a complimentary glass of champagne while we waited to be seated (very nice touch), the greeter was very pleasant and helpful. Our waiter was Victor. He was so sweet, polite and patient with us. He made sure to make notes in reference to my allergies, he took our orders after providing several delicious options and we enjoyed all of them. This was the BEST experience AND the most delicious food we had our entire weekend! I love Joey. Everything from the aesthetic to the food is always on point. If you're boujie and love a good upscale dinner, this is definitely the spot. They even greet you with a complimentary glass of champagne as soon as you walk in which sets the tone for the whole experience. I brought my girl here for a anniversary date night and we had such a good time. Madeline was our server and she was amazing. I believe Monica was the manager and she made sure everything was perfect too. The food came out fresh, flavorful and every dish was delicious. First time visiting, and overall, it wasn't a bad experience! The decor was great, and the atmosphere was nice. However, the service could have been a little better, and the food was decent but nothing too special. Parking was terrible, which definitely took away from the experience. The drinks also need improvement--they were too sweet and didn't have enough liquor for my taste. Overall, it wasn't too bad, and I might give this place another try in the future. By far the best meal Ive had in a long time. Came here for brunch with my cousins after church and our meal was exceptional. We had the blackened chicken and the steak abd ravioli. Ive been here quite a few times so I will say Ive never had a bad entree here, but THIS TIME!! Yall if you've never had the blackened chicken, GET IT NOW! I feel like the pictures just dont do this dish justice compared to the amazing flavors it gives! We also had drinks. I had the frozen coffee drink, one cousin had the espresso martini and one cousin had the lemon drop martini. All the drinks were good and of course we were given the complimentary bubbles when we walked in the door. We had a reservation so there wasn't really much of a wait. It is particular place around Galleria. Valet parking is $12 plus. The food service is very fast. We order Mini Short Rib to share and had Crispy Nigiri ( sushi on rice cake instead of rice) and Tuna Poke Bowl as main dishes. The flavor was not exceptional and the portion was kind of small for the price you pay. The Poke Bowl had too much rice not enough tuna. It is a convenient place to dine. Finally made it to Joey Uptown and it did not disappoint. I ordered the steak and ravioli, and both were sooo good. perfectly cooked, flavorful, and honestly the kind of dish you keep thinking about after you leave. I also had a peach bellini and it was just as good--light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The vibe was really nice too, great for a night out or even a cute dinner spot. We came here for lunch on Easter. We were seated right away. You need to make reservations here as there was a wait This is a beautiful restaurant. Complementary mimosas or a glass of orange juice was made available to all guests - not sure if this was an easter gift or if this is done on the weekends; nonetheless, it was a nice touch. The server immediately came over with menu and spoke to us for a bit. The server had some recommendations, both yays and nays - I liked this when he suggested certain dishes and was not a fan of others. He also suggested side orders - we were receptive to his thoughts. Valet is a few steps from the front door of JOEY Uptown, which is super convenient because the Galleria is so huge. The place is open and airy with a garden vibe; lots of huge windows. Service was impeccable! The drinks are fantastic! My steak was cooked to a perfect medium. My husband's blackened chicken was super juicy and tender as well. Within walking distance to The Westin Hotel @ The Galleria, we choose this place over Del Fresco's because we are in Fort Worth and wanted something we could not visit at home. On Easter Eve, we were worried we would have a hard time getting seated. The wait for a party of 3 would have been about 30 minutes, not bad for 7PM. We requested the bar top in order to avoid the short wait and were settled immediately. The bar staff, as individuals were pleasant and stayed busy the entire time we were seated. Unfortunately the service was not so great. We ordered our initial drinks but seemed to wait a little long to place our food order. Service never came back to ensure our food came out correctly or to check on our drinks. My husband had to physically wave down one of the bar staff in order to order an additional drink. The chicken fajitas, lobster spaghetti, and steak & shrimp raviolis were thankfully cooked to order and were good. The lady sitting next to us ordered the steak & shrimp ravioli as well and requested sauce from the server. She waited for about 5 minutes before asking for the sauce again from one of the bar staff. By the time her sauce arrived, her entire meal for cold. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and has great patio type seating. The mixture of visitors were interesting. There were numerous groups eating at Joey's with what might be described as club attire. The lighting during our visit had a low setting that could create ambiance for dates and special occasions. As good as the food and the setting was, the low rating is a result of the lack of service we received after seeing the reviews posted here. I hope others have better experiences than we did. When these challenges were raised with the manager he was interested in hearing what improvements could be made and did not make excuses. read more

Even though Joey Uptown is a chain throughout the US, this Galleria location is always gonna be my favorite. I've celebrated special events and birthdays at this location, but this time around, I came in for a little happy hour with my mother. Right after checking in at the host's table, we were greeted with champagne. The wait for a table wasn't that long. My mom and I were able to order super quickly and we already knew what we wanted. We came for their espresso martinis and seared salmon sushi. Both of these two items are amazing here!! We also got the spicy crab dip. The spicy crab dip was meh but tasted so much better after we added some lemon and pickled ginger from the sushi on top. Side note: the cajun blackened chicken and butter cake are so bomb here. I want to say, this was a truly elevating experience for my wife & I. We went here for date night and have to say- it checks so many boxes that we didn't know we even had. Our server, Tirrell, was genuinely one of the nicest & kindest servers we've ever had. Gave good recommendations, brought our food out in a timely order and was simply a great guy overall. Definitely recommend sitting in his section if you get the chance! Food: We started with Bang Bang Chicken which was so so good!!! perfectly balanced sweet & sour and somehow still had a kick to it. For entrees, we got the Mediterranean Chicken bowl and the Blackened Chicken. I only have one thing to say for both: So. Much. Went here the other day and once last September for small birthday reservations. The service this time was really disappointing and slow. Sat at the table for 20 minutes before getting even getting water!! And then we had to wait another 20 minutes to get our orders taken. We were sat right by the kitchen so all of the servers passed us sitting with menus on the table for 40 minutes before being helped. Was a bit frustrating. Despite the terrible service this time, the food here is surprisingly good--which I would hope for given the high price point. The chicken on the carbonara udon wasn't as flavorful as the first time we went here though so I'm worried about inconsistencies. This lovely modern upscale Canadian chain restaurant came highly recommended by our Dior salesman and I can't wait to see him again so I can thank him profusely. This chain also has restaurants in California like Newport Beach, Miami and all over Canada. Wow, from the minute we walked in we were welcomed on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. We were offered a glass of champagne while we waited for our table!! What? Wow and Thank you!!! I have never ever ever been offered a complimentary glass of champagne at a restaurant while I wait for my table. It made the very short wait worthwhile! Our waiter was sweet and we ordered the most amazing delicious potstickers! We continued drinking champagne which was a nice celebratory festive way to start our meal. I ordered the lobster pasta and steak and WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW, OMG the most delicious meal I have ever had in a long time. Mr. G also had some steak with some mashed potatoes that were hidden inside an egg roll wrapper? What?!! Wow, so delicious! This was a really tasty dinner! J and I stopped by for his birthday during happy hour with a reservation. The hosts greeted us with complimentary champagne which was a nice touch. We were soon led to our table - the restaurant is very spacious and includes a nice covered patio area. We were seated inside the restaurant at a table for two. Our server was kind and attentive throughout our meal. We decided on their regular menu as it sounded the most appetizing - we opted for the crab dip appetizer to share. J ordered the Joey classic steak and I got the steak frites. We also decided on the passion fruit and good life margaritas. Our drinks came first - we enjoyed the spice level and the presentation was really nice as well. They were quite well-balanced. The crab dip was good, but not quite the level we expected based on the price tag. It was creamy and the baguette slices were nice and crunchy. Now for our entrees - J really enjoyed his classic steak. I tried a bite and found it delicious as well. The potatoes were also cooked in a unique way and very tasty. My steak frites order was also tasty - the steak was heavily spiced which I didn't mind, though I think I prefer the Joey steak overall. The fries were lovely - perfectly crisp and the dips were also delicious. The side salad was nice as well. We enjoyed our meal here! Karla and the staff were fantastic. Can they bring a location to NYC please. The best comparison I can give it is Hillstone but more personality. They greet you upon arrival with a complimentary Procesco. World class service. I am not going to gatekeep - you must sit at the bar if you are going especially solo. Just incredible energy and perfect seating for people watching. When I tell you I was here 3 times for a 5 day work trip and it never disappointed with anything on the menu. The Chicken Parmigiana, the Joey Dirty Martini (it's massive) and the assorted sushi rolls were by far my favorite. My only regret was not going the other two days. Table for one on a Friday late night and wow, this is definitely a popular place! Nice vehicles pulling up dropping people off all dressed up, dark inside with lights and a huge screen. I waited for a bit then got seated at the end of the bar--I was initially concerned but the staff was so friendly and joked around with me since it was my first time. Steak and shrimp and ravioli-- what the heck? This is my dream dish because it combines several dishes I normally would have to order separately into one delicious combo. The steak and shrimp were tender, and the ravioli was so flavorful! I really enjoyed this dish and it was a very ample portion. The dumplings were a very solid and reliable appetizer, the chili crisp had a great kick. The French dip bites were just right. I love how small and cute they are! If I was at a big table and someone ordered a huge plate of these I would probably lose myself just having one after another because they have such a great kick and flavor combo. Love! Another star of the show was the crispy rice bites--I have had this dish plenty in Japanese restaurants or hip places in LA but this was particularly well made, and the small rice puffs were a great addition to balance out the mouth feel. Not my first Joey's experience so I knew what we were walking into. They do a great job with most of their dishes here. Almost a can't go wrong with what you order type of place. It's also still the only place I've been that serves you free bubbles when you check in. Which is such a killer idea. The ambiance makes for a good date night or could even be a work dinner event. Came in Saturday with a group of girlfriends (7) to celebrate our dear friends studio opening. Everything was going good, until it started raining. It started raining on one of our friends & we ended up moving.. just for the new spot to also rain on the same person + others. On top of that hazardous situation, the same friend who got rained on literally slipped & almost injured herself really badly. Thankfully all she did was stub her elbow (on table) & is a bit bruised on her shin (she hit the chair) because it truly could've been worse. The manager at that time (she had on a suit that was green I believe) literally saw it happened & said/did nothing. We wanted to be moved inside but no accommodations were made and I think we would've had to wait for space inside as well. As dinner comes to the end we thought the morning manager would at least make the evening manager aware of what was going, but she didn't. Normally if a table was having an "experience" such as ours, they'd come around and check up and see how things were going-- like if we rain dropped more-- nope! Nothing. By the end of the night we were all baffled by the lack of hospitality & care for us as guests and just people in general. I get it, it's a Saturday evening, it's busy but the least you guys could've done was check back in or act like we were getting rained on. Instead they gave us 2 bottles of the complimentary champagne given to guests upon entry. It was a group of 7 women at the table btw-- smart move . Very disappointing experience. And you guys should NOT have the patio open while it's raining regardless if the rain doesn't seep through in multiple places, all you need is one spot. This could've ended very badly for my friend & this business. Dorian was great though! I just really wanted some food and the min short rib french dips and farmer's market salad really hit the spot. Everything came out super fast too. Plus drinks were really good too. I've been to JOEY Uptown on several occasions over the past year, and on at least three separate visits, I noticed what appeared to be a pattern in the service. My female server would become noticeably less attentive and disappear for extended periods. I also noticed what seemed to be more attentive service toward male guests and tables that appeared likely to generate larger tips. I understand restaurants get busy, but experiencing this on multiple occasions made it difficult to view it as an isolated incident. Customers deserve consistent, attentive service regardless of gender or perceived tipping potential. JOEY presents itself as an upscale establishment, and I believe management needs to pay closer attention to the consistency of service and address this with the staff. read more
