I came back to Adair today for a group lunch, and it was a lot better than I remember for breakfast. The line was long and does move a bit slow, and tables fill up fast. We split the chicken avocado sandwich and the French dip. Both were very tasty, but the French dip was hands-down the winner for me. First of all when they bring it out, it smells like garlic bread! It was flavorful, whether or not it was dipped in the au jus. We had the grilled chicken for the chicken avocado sandwich, and it was juicy. It looked like it only came with two slices of avocado though, which felt a little sad. Both sandwiches came with a ton of very skinny crunchy fries. I normally don't like shoestring-type fries, but these seemed like they were made in-house. My friend's salad with grilled shrimp looked so delicious. A lot of the others at our table also were pleased with the French dip. I would come back! read more

We live in the area and passed by this spot so many times without even knowing The exterior is appealing and eye catching. The whole section of restaurants has a trendy and family friendly vibe. It would be the perfect spot to enjoy some outdoor bites and libations if not for the insufferable weather we have most of the year, but luckily, the interior is just as lovely. It's immaculate, well decorated, and deceptively spacious. There's plenty of booths, tables, and there's even a fully stocked bar and takeaway area The menu offers a variety of delicacies from a french dip, to pecan crusted chicken, to enchiladas. They have lovely handcrafted cocktails to choose from - some classic cocktails and some signature concoctions Everything tasted and looked great. The pecan chicken was more sweet than I expected, but still good. All of the sides were great. The cocktails looked great and tasted good. I did order one cocktail that gave ingredients but mentioned a "thick pink juice" that is made in-house, and upon my initial taste I soon discovered they meant beet juice. It wasn't bad, just unexpected and a little overpowering Our sever was good. Our orders came out quickly and without any issues. We did have to wait a while for top-offs on water. Also, as I was taking photos of the food our server was behind me and I apologized and they said "phone eats first," and I hope that was only meant in jest and not throwing shade lol Some tips: These plates aren't the most shareable, but if in a group I would consider ordering a variety of entrees and sides and trying each others meals If you're feeling something sweet after your meal, consider walking next door to Milk + Sugar. I absolutely love this place!!! I drive a distance, but I don't care, it's so worth it. Everyone is wanting to serve you with excellence. I swear you get spoiled here by every person from the front where you place your order, to the waiter/waitress, to the server bringing out the drink and food, to the bus boy picking up. I ordered the salmon to go, and overall it was really good! The salmon was well-seasoned, flavorful, and cooked nicely, and I enjoyed it with the rice and sauce. My only regret is that I didn't realize when ordering that the meal didn't come with any vegetables. I definitely would have added a veggie side to make it a little more balanced. Even though we have many good breakfast places in the Heights, it's always worth the drive to Adair for a fantastic breakfast. It's my favorite. I always get an omelette and choose the black beans over hash brown and they're seasoned really well. There are just enough greens added to the plate to make it a well rounded meal. I always get a side of bacon too because it's really good. I love how at the self-serve drink station that there are mint leaves in addition to lemon slices which I always add to my water. I'm going to update my review for brunch - it's really great value we love their $10 chicken biscuit and their sausage biscuit. The biscuit is nice and fluffy. Also they give you a side with it so with the hash browns or a cup of oatmeal, it's tasty, filling, and great value! Service is friendly and casual ambiance. Highly recommended! We stopped for a light dinner after heading home. My friend loved her salad. I ordered the hummus because I had tried it at another Adair location. But the hummus was topped with mushrooms which I don't like. I had to scrape them off. Mushrooms have no business in hummus. I don't know if they add mushrooms in the Buffalo Speedway location. I didn't see any when my friend shared his hummus with us. The pita bread is delicious. Our waitress was friendly and serviceable. Service: they charge a service fee and/or a package fee. Then have the nerve to ask me to tip. Build the fees into your pricing if you expect me to tip on togo orders. Also need to advertise these additional fees ( if they don't already. I looked at a menu online). I get times are hard but I'm damn sick of being nickeled and dimed to death. Also what does this service fee go to? There are all kinds of reasons why these fees are unethical especially if your staff isn't seeing a cut of these fees. I hate to write this review, because the manager Hannah was empathetic, apologetic, and gave me a refund....but I dislike restaurants that advertise one thing on the menu, and then pull a bait and switch on what they think are unsuspecting patrons, by serving something else! This is the second time I've purchase the steak frites to-go at this establishment within a week, and they aren't serving what the menu states! Menu clearly says the cut of steak for the steak fries is ribeye, and this is absolutely NOT RIBEYE. The first time I ordered it last week, I let it slide because it was still tasty and this restaurant is in walking distance from my house so it's convenient...I just figured they ran out of the advertised cut of beef and made a one off substitution. Went in today and ordered the same dish and was served the same cut of beef, which is obviously a flank or skirt steak... definitely not what is being advertised! Called and spoke with the manager and she was apologetic and promptly gave me a refund. I'm only writing this review because it is a poor business practice to advertise one thing and serve something else. Either increase the pricing for what is advertised or change the menu to reflect what you're actually serving....It's just as simple as that! Transparency matters and this is very deceptive. The only suggestion is if you don't like any pink on your hamburger. Make sure you tell them you want it done all the way! I ordered the chicken and waffles to-go, and the ordering process itself was smooth. When I arrived, I saw a line and thought, "Okay, this place must be good." Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The server working the to-go checkout was very attentive to the women in front of me, but never acknowledged me once while I waited. When it was finally my turn, I paid, and he immediately tried to move on to the next person without even asking if I needed anything else. I had to stop him and ask for hot sauce before leaving. Once I got to my car and opened my food, I was even more disappointed. There wasn't even butter for the waffles, and nothing about the presentation or order made me excited to come back. The chicken was overcooked, tasted old, and was honestly inedible. It went straight into the trash. Between the poor customer service and the disappointing food, this was a complete waste of money. Enter: Adair Kitchen. Adair had been on my brunch list for a while, so I was thrilled at the chance to try it. The cashier joked along with us about our workout, and was incredibly friendly. I am partial to restaurants with an order-at-the-cashier set up, and Adair's ordering line moves quickly and efficiently. The baked goods looked mouth watering but we ended up not having room in our stomachs to try it. We were excited to try the new Adair Kitchen, but the experience was really disappointing. I went with my son and daughter. I ordered the chicken, my daughter ordered the pork chop, and my son ordered the steak. As they were serving my kids their meals, the server told me they were out of chicken and asked what I wanted instead. I ordered the steak and was told it would come out quickly. My kids finished their entire meals and my food still hadn't arrived. I finally asked them to box it up to go because I was tired of waiting and watching everyone else eat. Then the bill came -- and they had both the chicken (which they didn't have) and the steak that I had to take home on it. At the very least, they should have taken the steak off the bill, since I never even got to eat it there. No one offered anything while I waited or even offered refills for drinks or another glass of wine. Really disappointing service, especially for a new restaurant trying to establish itself in San Antonio. read more

Stopped in for brunch. It's a cute little restaurant with some outdoor seating directly in front. Seating inside is a bit crowded if you're not in a booth, but it's comfortable nonetheless. You order first, then head to your table and they bring your food to you. I wanted something light so I went with the two eggs any style that came with bread and has brown casserole. The wheat bread was okay, but the hash browns were a no for me. I was excited about the hash browns because many places don't have them on their menus these days and I was definitely disappointed. So, I stumbled upon this restaurant om accident. I will say I first went to their other location which is SOOO cute looking, but this location is the original and let me tell you, I sat at the bar and I LOVED the staff at the bar. They made me feel like I came to eat a meal with them and like I knew them my whole life. In a fast moving world where people just stay to their own, I really appreciated this on their end. The breakfast bowl is AMAZING and so is their coffee that I have had. They have it down with breakfast and lunch. I've looked over the dinner menu and it doesn't seem like I'd be to appealing to eat it or things I'm fully interested in... but they definitely have it down with breakfast and lunch. Great service and food! Even the customers are nice. We used to come here regularly but since we moved we come by wherever we're in the area. After we sat down Raul quickly recognized us and took our order. He always remembers us but not just us. I could tell who all the regulars were by how they were greeted and with the staff knowing their drink orders before they were ordered. One older gentleman told the barista that she was a rockstar, which sweetly made her smile. Both our lattes were very good so the compliment was well deserved. My breakfast was delicious. I usually get the huevos rancheros or the avocado toast and my significant other gets the chicken and waffles but today he tried a new item, the egg and bacon biscuit. We wanted a chocolate muffin but someone had bought the last one. Raul went to the back and found another one. It looks like now they're baking their own muffins. They are soo good!
