I've been here multiple times and love it every time but I've only been for dinner twice. My second time was my 30th birthday with my mom and I had the redfish it was SO good and packed with so much flavor! Of course couldn't forget the BEST cookie ever!!!

Stopped by Tiny's No. 5 yesterday for a later Saturday brunch. The place was packed, so our wait was about 50 minutes--but that's to be expected on a busy weekend. I ordered the Mother's Breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage, a cinnamon roll, and the Lucky Burger. My absolute favorite part of the meal? The biscuits with honey butter and strawberry jam that came with the Mother's Breakfast. The biscuits were perfectly fluffy, and the honey butter + strawberry jam combo was honestly to die for--I'd go back just for those. The cinnamon roll, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown. It came out room temperature and the icing wasn't melted at all, which made it feel pretty "mid," especially knowing their pastry shop is attached. The Lucky Burger was solid, and the highlight was definitely the Lucky Sauce--that really made the burger. Overall, the restaurant has a cozy, inviting vibe. It was super crowded, but the aesthetic makes it a fun spot for brunch. I'd definitely come back for the biscuits and maybe try some other pastries next time.

We love the location of Tiny's No 5 in the heart of the West U neighborhood! We've been visiting the location for years for their bakery and had never actually eaten at the restaurant until yesterday for lunch. It's a very nicely decorated and laid out restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating options, and the staff was attentive throughout our visit. We thought everything we ordered was good, but if we were to return we agreed the only item we'd likely reorder is the burrata. Although the presentation made it a bit tricky to eat, we figured it out and really liked the flavor combination with the burrata, marinated tomato, olive tamponade, pesto and balsamic. My husband got the Bee Keeper cocktail and said it was refreshing, but much more suitable for spring/summer than winter. For his entree, he got the Lucky Burger and said he liked it but wasn't wild about the sauce that came on it, wishing that had come on the side instead. I ordered the Cubano with a side salad and thought it was tasty, especially with the homemade spicy mustard. The sourdough was tender and slightly crispy due to being buttered and pan fried. We ended by getting cookies to go since we were full from our meals! We always enjoy their cookies as a straight forward, basic chocolate chip. Given the service, ambiance and quite decent food we wouldn't count out a return visit, but we did feel like the prices were a bit steep, especially at lunch time, paying over $100 with tip for what is listed above.

I love this for a good outdoor experience. Great little neighborhood restaurant that is quiet. They do get busy at times.. but always has a relaxing feel. The food is so so good. My favorite has to be the sweet potato fries but also really really love the turkey club. Great dog friendly patio, I try to bring my dog Oliver when I can. I've sat inside at the bar as well - very clean and good service. Just a perfect little West U gem!

First time here having dinner, we loved it. We came here for a birthday party of 18 people and our waiter did absolutely amazing, and they found a table to fit all of us which was awesome! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, Everything we got was really enjoyed! They have an extensive wine and cocktail list. Lots of good red wine choices. We got the braised short rib and the T5 Burger both so freaking good and full of flavor. We definitely will be back for date night.

Entrance way from bar / stitting area to the dining room.

it is a nice modern feel inside and i felt high quality food. We had some sourdough bread to start and each had a cocktail from the menu you see in the picture. they loose the 5th star since said cocktails arrived after the mains arrived despite being ordered right when we sat down. I guess understaffed, but still.... Other mains ordered were teh lucky burger, some sort of pasta boulanaise, a chicken romesco. All good stuff but lots of flavor, spices etc. not for those used to eating more plain food. Did not see the wine list as , i mentioned, the cocktails came after the mains had arrived so not really time to order wine.

Anytime I come to Houston I make it a habit to hit up one of these locations for brunch. As usual I always have a pleasant experience. Rania was our waiter and she was great along with the rest of the staff. Everyone was accommodating and Rania made sure we were takin care of and everything was to our liking. The menu seemed to have changed a bit unless it's just this location, but I got the burger and sweet potato fries and delish! Of course I had to order a few cookies to go and a couple to eat on the spot.

I just came for their cookies and ice cream and it was really good! I tried their food before but I remember not enjoying it as much so this time I went back for their baked goods and it didn't disappoint! Definitely recommend cookies. I bought it from the little stall outside and it came out fast and the workers were nice and gave us recommendations.

I love the Tiny's restaurants. I have come here and to Tiny Boxwoods many times for coffee, brunch, and lunch/dinner. They have hosted private events for my family. I love the rustic farmhouse, outdoor garden ambiance. It's the best place for outdoor dining when the weather is nice. I wouldn't order brunch food unless you want to leave hungry and unsatisfied, but the lunch and dinner food is generously apportioned and tasty. This time we ordered the cubano sandwich (the sandwich and the sweet potato fries were terrific) and the turkey burger (was more of a miss, because the patty was sour from all the cheese in it, but the soup was good). Unpopular opinion - their cookies are overrated.

Firstly, the restaurant is extremely cute and is perfect for a night to dress up and dine! Secondly, all of the food was amazing. Everything was brought out in a timely manner and it tasted delicious. Here are food ratings of everything we ordered : 4/5 Meat & Cheese Board - The mustard cream was extremely tasty. 5/5 Crispy Brussels Sprouts - Whatever that sauce was on the side PLEASE give me more it was so good I started to take my fork and eat the sauce from the bowl. 4/5 Hamachi Crudo - Very refreshing! 5/5 Pesto & Mozzarella Pizza - I was a bigger fan of this pizza, reminded me of a Margherita pizza but the touch of pesto added that perfect slight nuttiness! 3/5 Fig & Prosciutto Pizza - It had an interesting flavor profile but I'd say it's worth trying. 4.5/5 A la mode - Personally the cookie was baked a little longer to my liking, but if you like a more solid cookie then I would highly recommend this. Lastly, I would like to thank Christie for such an amazing experience! She even gave the dessert menu a seat next to me so I could get a full look :)

A La Mode :mmmmmmmm

Pros: Food was pretty darn tasty. Service was great. Prices were decent. Cons: Outdoor chairs were horribly uncomfortable. No pictures of most of the dinner menu food on any websites or reviews online

I been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got to experience eating here. I enjoyed the food I had which was the turkey bacon sandwich. I enjoyed our waitress and had a pleasant experience. The ambiance is beautiful inside and it's kept tidy. I would definitely order their chocolate chip cookies because they are my favorite!

Overall, had a good experience. This place is beautifully aesthetic. It's a great place to bring your girlfriends for a cute brunch spot! Our server was phenomenal and so sweet. She provided great service and gave us everything we requested. I went with my girlfriends and they said the turkey club was good, but the turkey burger was okay. I got the migas and I thought it was very very tasty. I definitely recommend this place!

Ask the Community - Tinys No 5

Is Tiny's. A pet friendly restaurant?

Yes! They allow pets in the outside grass area. They also have dog bowls for water upon request

Is there a long wait for Saturday brunch?

Depending on when you go yes. Mostly because people tend to order slowly?

Do you order at register at Tony's #5 at night too?

Nope! Tiny's at night is table service. You're seated by a host and the server takes care of you.

Bradley was an absolute professional. While I was leaving, Johnny Carrabba came out and talked to me for a second. What a nice guy. Full of natural charisma. Reminds me of an old wise guy from casino or Goodfellas. We had a great conversation. I told him how my grandmother was born in Bryan Texas in 1927. Mother's Day Reservation @3:30pm…read more When I say OVER RATED....It is an understatement. Please don't let the hype fool you. Please don't waste your hard earned money on poor service and cafeteria food.....This place is a glammed up Luby's and should be an insult to French cuisine. "Fine dining" with 1 star customer service and poor food quality... Hot drinking water...This was the first sign that things would be terrible. We asked the waitress why the water was hot and she replied "we didn't have time to cool it." .....QUE, COMO??? We were all appalled when that came out of her mouth. At that moment we should have left...Our waitress gave us the impression that we were inconveniencing her. Inattentive, unwelcoming, and rude.... Table was improperly set, half of us had silverware and the rest of us had to hunt down the waitress to get more. Other tables had flower decorations while ours was missing....sign of poor attention to detail. Coca Cola was flat. We asked the waitress if she could check on the carbonation and she never did. She said she did but I know a lie when I hear it....If you aren't drinking alcohol, they don't care if your coke is flat. My sister's lemonade or should I say "lemon water" was never refilled despite the waitress having multiple opportunities to check in on us. There were also multiple tables that had issues with the service. A man at the table behind us received his food but it sat there getting cold as he had to track down the waitress for silverware. Another outside table left prior to receiving their meal and another table of 2 sent their food back to the kitchen. We saw the male manager come over to their table to attempt to rectify the issue....THIS IS NOT A MOTHER'S DAY ISSUE, THIS IS A SYSTEM'S ISSUE. While we waited for our food we saw 2 employees taking shots with customers. Wait, so you mean to tell me that you have time to take shots but y'all can't make sure our drinking water is cold???? LOL! Unbelievable... This type of behavior creates a tacky restaurant culture. When ordering our food the waitress got snappy with my dad when he asked what was in the seafood pot pie. She replied "It's a roux" with an attitude... This visit was so emotionally exhausting. I have been to sooooo many places and this visit has really done a number on me. I'm drained just writing about this. Sighs... Remember that hot water I mentioned earlier? Well she finally brought out some ice after she took the water jug lol. "Here's some ice..." we were all like ummmmm too late sweetheart. Food finally arrived....I will say, the food came out fast! That was the only good thing as we couldn't wait to eat and get the heck out of dodge!!! We had popcorn shrimp, baked oysters, airline chicken, stuffed salmon, steak salad and seafood pot pie. Meh...for the prices we paid, they should be ashamed. At the end of our meal, my sister felt water leaking on her from the ceiling. We looked up and they had what looked like a silver floor transition strip attached to a vent and the water was seeping from it. I can't make this up...And yes, all of the above occurred during the same visit. What this tells me is that the owners either lack pride in their restaurant or have become hands off for other reasons. The staff seem very disjointed and struggle working as a team. I spoke with one of the managers up front and let her know I would be writing a review due to our disappointing experience. She was kind and apologized. I asked if they were short staffed and she said no it's because it's Mother's Day. Mother's Day is on the calendar every year and the management team has 364 days to properly create a plan that mitigates risk, while enhancing the customer experience. Y'all are in reactive/ survival mode, just trying to get to the close of day.... As a result, your customers have become the recipients of paying the cost, not just financially but emotionally. Please don't use Mother's Day as an excuse to drop the ball.... If you properly plan you won't have to be in survival mode on days such as today. Again...THIS IS NOT A MOTHER'S DAY ISSUE, THIS IS A SYSTEM'S ISSUE.

For someone not from the area, this was in a very unexpected area at the corner of Alabama and Saint St., hidden from the street. I was lucky to find a spot right by the door, but as soon as I got out of my car, the rain started to fall. I made my way quickly to the hostess stand (who were in the process of moving indoors) and they said the bar was open/seat yourself. Found a perfect spot right inside, and was given a menu by the nice bar staff. I had a few things in mind, but I decided on the lunch risotto. This arrived quickly, and I dug right in, especially enjoying the roasted carrots with the lemon parmesan risotto. There were other vegetables-some I couldn't even identify-but the ones I did try all blended together nicely. Being a lunch dish, the size was smaller which was perfect for me. Bar area became much busier since some parties from outside came in due to the downpour, so the establishment went from somewhat quiet to much louder, but everything still seemed to be running smoothly. Parking can be tight depending on the time/day. This location feels like it has more indoor seating and a better patio than The Heights which is more exposed to the outdoor elements off the trails. I couldn't remember if I'd been here before until old photos I posted showed. I'm used to The Heights location which is closer to me. It's been about 5 years when I first moved to the loop that I went here with a friend. I had the OG Brussels sprouts which were my favorite when they still had Benjy's in Rice Village. It was a staple for 25 years. They closed in 2020 to expand Local Foods. Pretty bummed because Benjy's was great and had an amazing pecan-crusted goat cheese appetizer with pita. It had more of a cocktail lounge vibe that my friends and I would frequent back in grad school for HH. They had another location off Washington, but that is also closed and is now Forget Me Not. Anyways, the Brussels sprouts were amazing, and I always loved them. I'm glad that Local Foods occasionally features it as a special. I usually gravitate towards the crunchy chicken sandwich. The pretzel bun is everything, and the filling is loaded. If you have a bit allergy, this is not for you. It has pecans in them. I like the added potato chips, too. This time I tried the tacos de camote which was a sweet potato taco. I couldn't find any photos of it on this Yelp page, but I've had sweet potato tacos before in Scottsdale and was hooked. I didn't expect two large wedges on sweet potato lodged in a taco shell. It was delicious and carmelized. You could hear the crunchy outside texture. Loved that. What I didn't love was the difficulty of eating it. The wedges were huge, and the sweet potato was too hot and steamy. It would've been better had they been diced. The pumpkin seed mixture was good but too spicy with the jalapeños. I like spicy food but didn't expect that. The tacos needed salsa or crema to cut through the heat. I picked off the jalapeños and fork and knifed the sweet potato after a few bites with the taco shell. The taco itself is a blue nixtamilized corn tortilla. It held up the taco filling fairly well considering the huge wedge of sweet potato. It also dripped the oil off the sweet potato. I couldn't taste much of the refried beans. I liked these tacos, but it was a little too spicy and didn't have the acid it needed to make it better. I ate the sweet potatoes and nixed the tortillas. As for the sides, I usually get the kale salad because theirs doesn't taste like dirt. Lol. They add enough lemon, pine nuts, golden raisins and Parmesan cheese to make it taste better. I could eat a bowl of that. It's always served in a tiny container. I also get their homemade potato chips. It's dusted with Old Bay seasoning. It can be oily at times, though. This time, I tried a seasonal side of strawberries that was recommended by the guy at the register. It was delicious. The strawberries were soaked in a slightly sweet simple syrup with chopped basil. They have a variety of lemonades, tea, fountain drinks, cocktails and refrigerated beverages to choose from. Lemonade can be too sweet, so I dilute it with ice and water. I like that it's open with the cups and plastic to-go cups if that's your preference. I've always enjoyed what Local Foods offers and like that they offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Service is friendly, and it's a nice, casual place to dine in or on the patio.
