Incredible outdoor space filled with loads of greenery, seating, and all around great vibes for yapping. Came here with a larger party, and we didn't have an issue getting some seats in the nursery area. 100% this place will be a staple everytime we are in Houston. Highlights: -The butter croissant was flaky, the butter flavorful, and the jam was perfectly sweet -The cookies were out of this world. Perfectly gooey, crispy, and the right amount of sweetness. -the bacon scones were dense, flavorful, and sizable. They also were not dry like typical scones, it was a fan favorite -great wine list. We ordered a few bottles of their Sancerre and it hit the spot on a warm march day Tips: -they don't take reservations for brunch, but you can grab a drink and walk around the nursery -a few doors down they have a sister restaurant that serves ice cream, cookies, and some yummy dessert. If you can't get a reservation, put your name down and walk over there for sweets first

Tiny Boxwoods was absolutely fabulous. From the service to the ambiance, everything felt thoughtful and well done. The food came out quickly, portions were generous, and it was perfectly sized so we still had room to enjoy some of their cookies afterward. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time because it's a very popular spot and not a lot of seating (very cozy). If the weather is nice, I highly recommend sitting outside! Overall, a fantastic Houston spot with great service, atmosphere, and food.

On Saturday we went to brunch at this spot in Houston that everyone talks about. The place is absolutely beautiful gorgeous garden and great ambiance. But when we sat down, we were told they had run out of fresh juice, cinnabuns, croissants... and honestly the list kept going. This was a little disappointing. We ordered migas, burrata with bread, and a pastry basket. * Chocolate croissant -- very greasy, a bit too much for me. * Jalapeño scone -- really good. * Blueberry muffin -- didn't love it. * Migas -- eggs were good, tortillas greasy but tasty. The tomatillo green sauce was decent. * Burrata -- bread was great, but overall felt like it was missing something. Coffee was good, drinks were good (the paloma was nice). Service was okay . I know they were packed, but it took a while just to get water. I had high hopes, and while it wasn't bad, I did leave a little disappointed.

Ok this is a gem This restaurant is famous for their cookies and now has several locations, but this one just steals my heart because it has a beautiful garden and it has a nursery too! The garden has scattered tables for 2 for romantic dates and also a gazebo for larger groups or gatherings. They also have a covered patio in case you want to be outside but not be bothered by the sun. Inside has a charming touch, feminine , elegant, just beautiful! Their menu is not too big but not too small either, you will find something to eat here. Their bread and butter is literally heaven! Don't forget to get it. I got the Watercolor, a delicious combination of shrimp and crab meat over a bead or coconut rice with a spicy butter, very delicious but I'd order next time with less butter. My friend got the crab cakes and the grilled veggies, for me. The crab cakes had a strong horseradish flavor, but still very good. They have a wide selection of wine and cocktails which I appreciate, and the one I got was so tasty! Love that they offer brunch because in the nice weather days this is the perfect location for an amazing brunch. Coming back soon! Note:they have parking My only complaint: No WIFI

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston! The waitstaff is so kind and helpful. The food is always yummy. It's a bit expensive so be prepared for that. However, it's worth your money because of the ambiance of the restaurant and outdoor area.

I've been wanting to try Tiny Boxwoods for a long time, so I went with my siblings for brunch. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 30-40 minute wait, which we expected and were fine with. The host checked us in, took my phone number, and said we'd get a text when our table was ready. I even confirmed my number because I thought it was strange that I didn't receive a confirmation text for the waitlist, but he assured me he had it correctly. After about 40 minutes, we went back to check on our wait time. A different hostess was at the front and couldn't find our name on the list. The man who had checked us in was avoiding the front, which made the situation even more frustrating. We had waited all that time, and it honestly felt like we had been forgotten. Thankfully, a manager or team lead stepped in and was kind enough to seat us inside. Unfortunately, the interaction with the hostess already ruined the vibe, and our server was also very short with us. Overall, the experience was disappointing. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend this place. (10/04/2025)

While in Houston, I found Tiny Boxwoods. It was a quaint and charming breakfast and brunch spot. Though there was outdoor seating, we opted to sit inside. Hubby and I both had coffee while Dad had hot chocolate. Dad had the Mother's breakfast, which included scrambled eggs, white cheddar jalapeno grits, homemade biscuits, jam, whipped butter, and bacon. I had the Fruit & Yogurt Parfait, which included berries, labne, Tiny's house granola, and honey. Hubby had sides of sunny-side-up eggs, bacon, and a fruit bowl. Everything came out quickly and we enjoyed it all. Highly recommend this for a gathering spot!

Loved everything about this place! To start, the land and restaurants is so cute! Despite it being in August, we were able to sit outside for breakfast as it wasn't too hot yet. The service was fast and the waitress was kind. I had the Mother's Breakfast and was not disappointed at all. The food was great, their white cheddar jalapeño grits were so delicious and paired perfectly with their eggs. The biscuit and jam were so good. My friend has the lox bagel and the portion looked very generous. I love their cocktail menu, it has great options that pair well with breakfast. Despite their breakfast menu being small, I feel like the options are great and it seems like you can't go wrong with anything. As a bonus, the nursery opens at 9am, so you can take a stroll after breakfast and find a plant to take home!

I feel really rushed. Im sat at the bar. My food came out way too quickly which makes me think it was microwaved. I barely got my coffee and the food arrived. It is a shame as my migas eggs are good ish. Bit flavor less. The coffee is good. But I feel rushed and not relaxed.

    Salmon Provencal

I ordered the Salmon Provençal from the afternoon menu and was honestly disappointed. The description sounded thoughtful and composed -- "goat cheese baguette" especially made it seem like an actual prepared element of the dish. What I received instead was a very dry plain salmon salad with a random slice of baguette topped with a chunk of goat cheese. That's not the same thing as a "goat cheese baguette." It felt misleading and poorly executed. And not fresh greens. The dish overall lacked creativity, balance, and attention to detail. For a $25 plate, I expected something more intentional than what looked like a quickly assembled salad. If you're going to use elevated language on the menu, the food should match it -- otherwise it just feels like false advertising.

Decent place for an upscale vibe of the city to eat breakfast/brunch. It can get busy on the weekends so expect to have a short waitlist. The only negative thing I would say is that it used to been more humble but over time more and more people come here very stuck up. But overall, the experience still is nice. I do enjoy also walking the garden they have and window shopping there, but some of the things are outrageously overpriced.

Go and see for yourself - This cute trendy restaurant is sure to surprise you and any guests that come with you! Outside seating emmaculate & there is also a garden attached (everything locally sourced from their menu) Service was very attentive and patient! Food was well seasoned and fresh 10000000/10

Tiny Boxwoods is such a cute and quaint spot perfect lunch. I absolutely loved the ambience, it is charming and cozy. The lemonade a good balanced and not too sweet or too sour. The fried green tomatoes were amazing and definitely a must-order. The lunch menu is very limited, but the turkey club was good. I also grabbed a coffee to go and loved it just as much. The service was great at first, though it dipped a bit once they got busy, but overall still a decent experience. I've had their cookies before as well, and they're really good.

Do you offer brunch every morning or only on weekends?

Brunch is open on the weekends. Saturday they'll be open for brunch from 8 am to 3 pm, and on Sunday's they'll be open for brunch from 9 am to 2 pm. They're open during the day as well during the week but it's for lunch from 11 am to 3 pm. :)

The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. He ended up being one of the best aspects of our experience that evening. Our waitress wasn't nearly as good. We started by asking for ice in the water from the waitress since they just give you room temp water. After 10 mins of seeing her serve other tables and ignoring our request, we then figured the water boy would make it happen...and sure enough he did. We then ordered the grilled oysters, which are very lightly cooked, almost seemingly steamed more than anything, but they were very good regardless of the cooking method with the sauces and garnishes and pickle juice added. Next up was ordering the entrees. The menu here is a little strange with numerous vegan choices with strange titles and only a few items with protein. To top it off, there are not many choices period. The waitress explained that the left side is basically the apps, and the right side is basically the entrees. I knew I wanted to try the wagyu flat iron steak which is priced pretty high here, compared to other wagyu flat irons I've had at other restaurants across the US. We couldn't really decide on a 2nd main dish then the waitress mentioned the off the menu special which was a scallop pasta so we picked that thinking it sounded delicious. The entrees come out about 15 mins later, and we take our first bites and we both thought, oh no, if we share the other person across from me isn't going to like this dish because it's too salty. I tried the steak first and noticed the sauce being extra salty, then I tried the pasta and the pasta was way worse, but the scallops didn't seem to be affected. We immediately told the waitress the next time she stopped by....and she just said okay, and walked away. I figured she would go get the manager....but nope...she just kept on serving other tables. At this point we thought to ourselves only the oyster app was decent.....and no reason to look at the dessert menu since we had already spent over $100 on food we could hardly eat. Sure enough, the waitress stops by a 2nd time and asks if we'd like to see the dessert menu. I couldn't leave fast enough and told her we'll skip. Needless to say we both left hungry as the portions were not only not edible, but also fairly small. The water boy also stopped by and offered to turn on the heater if we get cold. Boy, I wish he was our waiter instead. For a supposedly Michelin-starred restaurant, I feel they really got this one wrong.

Bottom line is that Milton's should be your go to place for just good old Italian fare but in an upscale but not stuffy atmosphere. We were served 9 courses family style including a couple of cold plates, a couple of salads, a couple of pastas and a couple of entrees along with a dessert. Everything was fantastic and Mark did a great job of hosting and explaining the wine pairings. The best of the apps was the Sicilian Tar tar. Tuna, scallop and salmon perfectly marinated on crostinis. The Hearts of Palm Salad was excellent, and they are definitely sharable, probably made for 3 - 4 guests to share. Of the two pastas the Cresta De Gallo stood out the most, but the Bolognese was also virtually perfect. Of the two entrees we enjoyed the Chicken Piccata slightly more than the Hanger Steak. On our second visit, Ryan was our server. He had been our server at Underbelly, One Fifth and Georgia James in the past and remembered us immediately and was a wonderful host for the meal. This time the table enjoyed the Chargrilled Oysters and the Parsley Salad to start. We also sampled 4 pastas - The Cresta De Gallo again, the Chitarra with Scallops and Uni, the Lumache with Vodka Sauce and the Sourdough Tagliatelle. All were fantastic. My personal favorite was the Chitarra. In the end we finished off all 4 so no leftovers. We then shared the Chicken Piccata as our only entree. This dish is so good. Juicy Chicken, flavorful sauce, and the Sourdough Tagliatelle was the perfect accompaniment. We also enjoyed two desserts - The Budino (which is more like a chocolate tort than a pudding) and the Tiramisu. Both wonderful. We got the corn soup and the grilled bread and cheese plate as an appetizer (apologies I don't remember the exact name off the top of my head). For our entrees, both my husband and I got a Latin America dish. It was a pepper with cashew cream and quinoa, a chimichurrin sauce, etc. it was FANTASTIC. They don't skimp on the veg plates and I really appreciate that! Especially when a place isn't entirely only plant based focused. This place really take pride in their food and it shows. I watched a chef plate a meal (from my seat, I could see the kitchen) and he was so locked in and meticulous about it. We were checked up on constantly, our waters never ran out, and our waitress was so cool and down to earth. We tipped her well. At the end, our waitress brought us out two complimentary champagne flutes as a congratulations for our wedding anniversary. It was unexpected but so sweet! We really enjoyed it. We both left this place happy and very full. Def worth a visit if you're in the area!!

The drink and food menu has a alot of selections. Started with the come and take it cocktail and espresso martini. The come and take it was nice cause it wasn't harsh but a little sweet. The espresso was a lighter version more of a flavored coffee than a strong coffee taste. We got the butter chicken, crab fried rice and the ribs. The butter chicken was bomb I heard and the ribs were flavorful and moist. The crab fried rice was a huge portion, soft shell crab was fried perfect and the egg topped was a nice touch. The old fashioned try is legit, pretty much get 3 full old fashioned for the price of 2. Overall wish we tried some apps but definitely somewhere I would go back.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

The ambiance and service is absolutely phenomenal as well! We started off with the Green Flag, a basil based French 75, and a glass of Tempranillo. Sooo good. The infamous Nancy Cakes definitely met my expectations as well. Somehow they're light and dense at the same time, and the butter and roe are so flavorful with the light cakes. I loved them! The most memorable dish was the lamb tartare. I was blown away by the absence of the usual gaminess of lamb meat, which always scares me with lamb dishes. There was a bit of spice with the base sauce as well, and the charred sesame naan on the side was amazingggg. Definitely a favorite! The yellowtail crudo was a little bit spicy, a little more smoky, and very deep in flavor. Unfortunately we got this dish a bit later in the rotation so we were super full at this point, but I would definitely order again!! The uni crudo was definitely memorable, but probably my least favorite bite of the meal. Everything meshed together nicely, but honestly nothing really stood out within the bite. Probably wouldn't get this again, but I did enjoy it! The beef sticky rice was a side dish that surprisingly stood out! The toasted shallots and onions on top were delicious, and the rice was a perfect chewiness. It came with a fermented chili beurre blanc sauce that paired nicely as well. It helped that the sauce came in a cute little cow container! Finally, we had to get a unique dessert to finish off the meal. We got the Parmesan cheesecake with honey and pepper - this will live in my head forever. An unexpected savory sweet combination in a crustless cheesecake, with plenty of honey drizzle and peppercorns that balanced everything out. The drink pairing was super sweet but a great balance to the dessert! I will never forget this meal. I cannot WAIT to come back to Nancy's Hustle!

The restaurant is connected to one of the main parking garages. The first two hours are free which is convenient. It has a more casual feel because of the counter service setup. I like that they have a large menu. We visited on a Sunday afternoon which meant we had the option to order from the brunch menu. The dining area is a good size and they also have a nice patio which is where we sat. The staff was nice, but they were slow at times. The biggest issue was with the food. I ordered the Chicken Tenders which came with Fries and Honey Slaw. I also ordered a side of Broccoli. The Fries and Broccoli were cold while the Cole Slaw was too salty for my taste preference. The Chicken Tenders and dipping sauces (Cayenne Ranch and Honey Mustard) were tasty. One of my dining companions sent some of her food back because it was also served cold. One of the employees was going to reheat her food, and she had to ask for a new order to be brought out (which they reluctantly did). For my beverage I had the Blueberry Spritz which is a mocktail. It was very good and refreshing, but took quite a while to be brought to the table. The staff was nice enough to grab extra napkins and utensils for us when we asked which was very nice of them to do. Maybe it was just an off day for the staff and hopefully they have fixed the issue with serving cold food that is meant to be served hot. I'll wait a little while longer before returning.
