I don't recommend going to a restaurant on Valentine's Day as I suspected it was overpriced for what it is. The food was just ok and the service was slow and sloppy. They were understaffed for sure. Now - this is a review for Valentine's Day. Not sure if the service is Breyer all other times. Also - other than the salad - no gluten free options.

We visited The Nash based on reviews before a show downtown. The place was empty at 6pm on a Saturday but it was nice. Marco was our server and it was great. He gave honest opinions of the dishes and accommodated our needs. We did the pre fixe menu for Houston Restaurant week and it was terrific. $55 dor 4 courses is a steal. My young child also ate and really enjoyed the fish on a half shell. My mother who is a creature of habit and not one to try new places devoured her food faster than I've ever seen. So needless to say this was a hit. We had the Arancini (1st course), Caesar Salad (2nd course - good but a little too much dressing), Fish on a half shell and Blackened Red Snapper (3rd course), tiramisu & Blueberry Bread pudding (4th course - ice cream came out fully melted 2x so didn't eat it) At the end of our meal Marco helped me to bag up our leftovers on ice so it would keep in the car while we went to the show. My only issue is that the bag leaked all over the carpet in the trunk of my car and was soaking wet and now smells terrible. So Marco, your trick didn't completely work like you promised it would but I appreciate the effort. We should have double bagged it :-) Good experience overall and have recommended it to friends and family to try.

I was looking for a place with a good menu variety for a celebratory dinner. Typically we do steaks but I wanted to have some flexibility for the tastebuds and try to find something that served a lot of the things we like. Apps: Coconut Shrimp-I felt they were fried slightly too long because they were pretty dark but the crispness was nice. And the shrimp didn't taste dry even without the sauce. My companion wasn't a fan of the aioli sauce-felt it would have paired better with a traditional sweet and sour but I didn't mind it. Forbidden Eggs - I was intrigued especially when I heard this was one of the popular items. I specifically asked was it like deviled eggs and was told no because it was fried but still runny. But that wasn't the case -it was indeed a boiled eggs with some fry technique but the yolk was just boiled yolk and then had the accoutrements of the sauce and scallions. It was a unique taste but not as flavorful and not the experience I expected after the description. Pork Belly- liked the presentation of lighting seasoning underneath. This was consumed by my companion and he liked it. Dinner We both selected the field & tide. I subbed the pommes for a mushroom risotto because of my nightshade allergy. I think that helped make the plate more filling. The steak is a decent serving and it was cooked a perfect medium. The crab cake tasted slightly salty to me but overall light and enjoyable. The risotto had a pleasant density and I actually savored it for my last bites. Drinks: Foggy Fig -No complaints from my companion but I did notice he didn't drink it as fast as most drinks he tries at dinner. Raspberry & Lemon smash - this was my non alcoholic drink - - of which they have several to choose from - - it was good. I found most of the simple syrup at the bottom which made the last few sips very sweet. Dessert Pecan Pie + ice cream - I liked the rich flavor of the pie. It almost tasted like there was a touch of alcohol inside but I was told there wasn't. The pie crust was soft which I prefer. Ice cream scoop was just large enough to last for the entire piece and didn't take away from the flavor. Bread pudding - received no complaints Service - seems to be a team concept so we had Melina and Griggs both of whom were really pleasant and attentive. They kept our water glasses stocked which is not always a given. We came on a Saturday night and not even half of the restaurant was filled however it did seem that our food took longer than expected. Particularly for the drinks and appetizers. But the entrees came fairly quickly after we finished our apps and dessert came within five minutes of ordering.

I would not recommend this restaurant if you ego is bruised easily. This was my favorite meal while visiting Houston and it humbled me as a mediocre cook. There wasn't a single thing out of place or distasteful. I had lunch at The Nash about 10 minutes after they opened on a Tuesday. I was the first one there, but it began filling up fast after 11:30am. Corrie was my waitress and she was amazing. She gave me plenty of time to look over the menu and enjoy my meal when the food came. I ordered the short rib pappardelle and the chocolate banana cake. The short rib pappardelle was great. It was cooked perfectly and the short rib was tender and juicy. I was surprised that I ate all of it. I usually stop halfway to leave room for dessert. I've never had a chocolate and banana dessert from a restaurant before. The profile makes sense, but maybe it's a little risky for some. The chocolate banana cake was so good. The softness of the cake, creamy banana sauce, and crunchy nougat pieces combined with the ice cream was an insane bite over and over again. This is one dessert I will remember for a long time. I loved the open concept, even seeing into the kitchen and the wood tables and chairs. It felt airy and welcoming. The open concept also applied to outside the restaurant with its floor-to-ceiling windows. If you're walking by on the sidewalk it's hard not to notice this restaurant and the level of posh it gives off. They have potter greenery on both sides of the corner and it's a standout compared to other businesses in the vicinity.

Came for houston restaurant weeks 2022. Place was pretty empty. I made a resy prior to. I found street parking, it's metored parking during the day, there's also a parking lot up the street. I didn't see valet. Cassie I believe was our server she was attentive. Drink- I had the sunrise or sunset drink. It was good, not too sweet, it had mango brandy in it, which I never had before. Food- first course I had the mushroom toast. I liked the ingredients of it, but toast ended up soggy, should have gotten the yellowtail crudo. 2nd course I got the short rib paperadelle pasta, it was large portion. I wanted more cheese on it. Flavors were subtle, I think it needed more herbs. It had real potential. Last course I had the lemon basil cheesecake. I love cheesecake, it was a bit salty. Couldn't tell if it was salty because of the crust, the cake, or the Carmel sauce? Anyway, overall nice service, spacious place, nice decor. Would have to come back to say and see if the food is good. It was alright this visit.

Best menu we ate in Houston. The appetizers were outstanding. The toys and bacon are a must try! The Short rib Pasta was next level. I was sad when I was full and could not finish it. The atmosphere and service were both great. Until next time.

HRW! The Nash was welcoming and our waitress was on point. First Course with three in our party: Korean BBQ, mushroom toast, and yellowfin tuna. The yellowfin tasted fresh, but there was something missing...elusive...mysterious...incomplete. The Korean BBQ sauce was something out of a dream...the sauce immediately induced more salivating and I knew in that moment that my life might be utterly completely. The kimchi added a delightful burst of spice...but the BBQ sauce was...otherworldly. The mushroom toast had an earthy taste... Wait. I was interrupted by the prompt delivery of our second course so I can't comment on the mushroom toast. Second Course: salmon, cauliflower curry, and braised pork parpadelnfnf(flat fat noodles). (I also realize that my inability to spell that particular noodle decreases my street cred.) The curry flavor was sublime but the naan was chewy and obscenely offensive. The rice was a little gummy. The salmon...oh, my. A perfect blend of awesomely cooked fish and decadent broth. Wow! The braised pork had a great spicy flavor and the noodles were okay...not great...but, okay. The Lemon Basil cheesecake is freaking phenomenal. Y'all: I'm not a dessert person. BRING ME THE ENTIRE CAKE. Overall, I would definitely come back, but I felt incredibly rushed through dinner.

Sat at the bar. Corrie was fantastic. I was just going to order a beer (Crawford Bock and Art Car on tap), but the service was excellent so I decided to stay for dinner. I had the butternut squash soup which was delicious but would have loved to have some bread or crackers to go with it. For my main dish, I had the flat iron steak. Very tender and cooked to perfection. They didn't have the key lime pie so Corrie suggested the Coconut Carajillo. I was worried there would be too much coconut or that it would be too sweet but with the espresso over ice, it was just right. I'm not usually a fan of the high-ceiling downtown scene but Corrie made this one feel like a neighborhood bar. I stayed well past that first beer and will definitely be back. Pro tip: If you like gin, get the Spicy Gimlet.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.
