I was invited by a friend to try Harry's Restaurant for breakfast so we could catch up on life, and this was my first time visiting. Overall, it was a really nice experience. I ordered the build your own omelette with tomatoes, cheese, peppers, grilled chicken, and spinach. It came out hot, well seasoned, and cooked just right. It was very satisfying, especially the grilled chicken which was very tender and juicy. On the side, I had a biscuit and cheesy grits. The biscuit was soft and absolutely moist, and the grits were creamy with a good amount of cheese. My friend ordered the spicy fried chicken plate with a biscuit and also tried the sausage gravy bowl. I had a taste, and everything was flavorful but the chicken really wasn't that spicy at all. You can taste the spice, but it really didn't give a kick. The orange juice was absolutely fresh, which I really appreciated, it definitely stood out. Add ice thank me later that's just me. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the raspberry jelly, but that's just personal preference since I'm more of a grape jelly person. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance stood out immediately. They have a beautiful patio if you're into outdoor vibes, definitely a great spot for conversations , relax, and enjoy a slow morning with good company. Overall, I'd definitely come back. I loved everything about this place except the wait you can't make reservations in advance! Our wait was almost an hour but well worth it!! We made online reservations before going there and it was more than an hour before we got our table. The place was packed and had lines waiting outside the restaurant. It's a beautifully decorated place with bright colors that make you feel good. We ordered their Larissa plate, eggs Benedict, regular French toast, baklava French toast and some drinks. Everything tasted great but the best was their Baklava French Toast! What a great twist to the regular French toast. The server was good and very knowledgeable about the menu. When we complimented him about it, he said they have to go through a test to prepare themselves, which we've not heard of before. You cannot go wrong with any of the food options and if you want to try different options, the portions are huge so sharing is caring. Harry's Restaurant is know for their bread which is thick and fluffy. Personally, I think the best way to eat the bread is have them slice it in half and toasted. Mid. I live in Mexico and honestly food is better over there, fresher ingredients, vibes etc. Sysco + US foods provides lowest grade food for every single restaurant in America, and guess what? It all tastes bad. Maybe my standards are raised because Mexico buys from local farms (what the norm should be), but here ? I expected to get cherry tomato's for my eggs... bro. For our meal, we had the American Filet, crab cakes, filet tacos, and seasonal vegetables. The bread with rosemary to start was heavenly, and the dipping sauce for the steak was light and delicious on our veggies. For dessert, we considered the chocolate lava, carrot cake, Harry's cake, and homemade ice cream, which all looked decadent. We were then pleasantly surprised with well-presented cotton candy at the end of the meal. Luis and Danny were the dynamic duo team. Their service was 5 star! Came here for brunch with my girls and it was so good! On a Sunday afternoon there was about a 45 minute wait and I see why. I only ordered the French toast along with some mimosas (strong) and I loved them both! I absolutely love Harry's. Every single thing I have ever eaten from Harry's has been delicious. It is one of my favorite brunch places to go. There is a parking lot but on the weekends it gets very busy and you might have to park on the street across from the building. There is also a waitlist that you can join before getting there. I highly recommend this on weekends. The French 75 church service is one of my favorite things, but you can always get a bottle of Prosecco or champagne for mimosas. I finally had a chance to try this iconic diner in Houston. I came around 12PM on a Saturday and we got lucky to get a parking spot in their parking lot, I also love the fact this have a HPD office guarding the parking lot. Speaking of luck as soon as we walk in we were able to get a table for the two of us. The place is pretty spacious but they are always pack. Now let's talk about my waitress, Mac easily the sweetest waitress I've encountered in this city. The brunch menu is a mix of Americana with a lot of Latin options. Their spicy fried chicken sandwich was a surprise hit, as were the gyro feta fries. I enjoyed my churrasco platter with skirt steak and appreciated how wonderfully crispy my bacon and hashbrowns were. This one of the only places in Houston that serve Ecuadorian style potato pancakes (#2) and I'm all for it. The only letdown was the baklava french toast, which was nice from a presentation standpoint but a bit disappointing flavor wise. My waitress Vivian is outstanding. She was quick to remind me about the auto-gratuity policy and also provided an extra piece of bacon after noticing that one and fallen. She alone gets five stars. Lastly, I do love the metal cups they use for waters, which is clutch for hot weather months since it's ice cold. It's obvious that the food is good. We got there at 9:30 last Saturday and plenty of seats. When we left there were people standing outside waiting to get in. Here's the problem I have that was the deal breaker for me not to go back. There were Two couples and separate checks. When the bill came there was an 18% gratuity already added, and when you signed there were additional tips to choose from. Personally, I don't appreciate a tip already added. I can see that if there was a table of six a tip is built in... but not just the two of us. Too many other places to go!!!
