    Oxtail Smash Burger
    Brett N.

Why 5 stars? Because my burger was absolutely delicious. --- --- --- I had my Dad meet me here for a pre-game dinner before we went to an Astros game and ended up really happy with this choice. I took one look at the menu and knew I wanted the Oxtail burger, so that was an easy decision. I also wanted mac-n-cheese, but they were out of that, so I ordered the fries instead. While I was bummed to miss out on the mac, the fries were awesome, so no regrets there. If you are a person who is a little weary of the "oxtail" part, I can assure you that you would never know the difference between a regular burger and this. I definitely couldn't tell anything out of the ordinary, other than the fact that it was extra tasty/juicy. My only gripe is that it was on the smaller side and I was in a face-stuffing mood. But you know what? It's probably better than Rado saved me from myself and my appetite of 7 men. Bonus points for a nice, large parking lot. We didn't know what to expect for parking because Google Street view wasn't updated, but parking here should never be an issue.

I've seen Rado Market pop up on some "best burger" lists in Houston, so with the day off for the 4th, I figured it was the perfect time to check it out--especially since it's just down the street. I love supporting places rooted in the community, and Rado, located right across from Emancipation Park, fully embraces that mission. The space is beautiful--bright, clean, and welcoming. You can tell a lot of care went into designing a place that feels good to be in, not just another restaurant. There's a small grocery section with locally made products, a café counter, books, wine... it really feels like a love letter to Third Ward. I came for the burger, and it did not disappoint. A burger from the team behind Lucille's? You already know it's going to be good. The oxtail smash burger might be one of the best I've had in Houston. The patty was rich and flavorful (you can actually taste the oxtail), and the tomato jam and garlic aioli gave it a perfect sweet-savory balance. The brioche bun was soft but sturdy--every element felt intentional. It's clearly a chef-driven burger. They were closing early at 2 for the holiday, so I grabbed my food to go and headed across the street to Emancipation Park. I found a table by the pool, where families were out enjoying the day--kids splashing in the water, everyone trying to beat the heat. It was the perfect setting to enjoy a great burger. Rado Market isn't just a spot for good food (though it absolutely delivers on that front). It's part of something bigger--celebrating history, investing in the neighborhood, and feeding the community in every sense of the word. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu... and maybe grab a bottle of wine or some local goodies while I'm at it.

Great brunch/lunch spot. I frequent the bookstore in the same shopping center and have been curious to try out Rado but am always short on time unfortunately. I went for an event and had the opportunity to grab a bit to eat after. The menu has some great offering but I was really in the mood for some fries and a burger. The fries and burger are fresh to order so the wait time is a bit longer but I'm willing to wait on good food. This is the type of place you order at the counter and get a number. It's a busy local spot but did not have any issues finding a seat. There is an outdoor patio area that has good shady spots and I really enjoyed eating outdoors! The staff was friendly and it was overall a nice solo brunch experience. As for the food I love the fries but was not impressed with the burger I'll definitely have to try some more items on the menu.

Hands down, best burger in Houston. I love it here. I love the collards in the salad. I love the smoky oxtail burger so much. I usually take friends and out of towners here to teach them the history of the Eldorado Ballroom, which is my absolute favorite place in Houston, TX and explain the history of it and Emancipation park. The food is just a great show stopper to top it all off. You can't go wrong with this restaurant group. They own Lucille's as well Late August, but this place and this burger- must try baby.

I came here for a Yelp event initially and returned because Kindred Stories moved next door in the El Dorado Ballroom. I had their Toast Crunch latte and it was SO DELICIOUS. The barista was super kind and came to find me and hand me the coffee once it was done. The place feels very historial and kinda has a diner aesthetic. It's attached to the el dorado ballroom and it's super spacious. There's plenty of seating and space; lots of decor and photos and I really appreciate that Kindred Stories highlighted some of their books in the market itself. I really love this place and I'll be back soon. 10/10 recommend for the food and the coffees.

Recently, after visiting Kindred Bookstore, I decided to finally check out The Rado Market -- both housed in the historic Eldorado Ballroom. There are numerous restaurants I enjoy in Third Ward, but The Rado Market is unique and has a diner/café feel. The lady who helped at the counter was very friendly and professional, even making solid suggestions. We ordered around 30 minutes within closing time, but were still accommodated. That's cool! I tried the Oxtail Smash Burger with a side of potato salad. The burger was great. Having asked someone beforehand if it had more of a Jamaican jerk essence, I was advised it did not have this flavor but was still good. I thought the flavor of the burger was great, and it might have had arugula on it, if I remember correctly. Wasn't a fan of the potato salad but did get to try some fries and those were awesome (the tiny bit of catfish po boy I tried was excellent). I thought the lemonade was really good. Several different parties dined in the restaurant, but since it was near closing time, we dined outside. Great experience overall. 5/5

I love this place! We had a late lunch on Saturday. A few lively patrons were there. Our food was delivered quickly. And most importantly the food was delicious! We split the grain bowl with chicken and the fried green tomato sandwich. They were both amazing. I forgot how much space is in the back and the patio area. It is a great place to study or work as well. I love that they have books from the next-door bookstore. Highly recommend!

I had the T'B.A.E sandwich & a side of grits. The sandwich isn't nasty -- it has lots of potential but I ordered via door dash which may have affected the quality of my experience. The sandwich is dry and a tad bit salty. There were no condiments included nor offered as an add on option which would've taken the sandwich to a 10 easily. I see the potential, but these minor changes could make it better. I'd eat here again but in person this time, for the full experience.

    "Turkey Melt"

I'm not coming back here. We waited 45 minutes & paid $60 for a "turkey melt" , grits & 4 eggs. The turkey melt barely had any turkey or cheese on it, the bread wasn't as advertised, and nothing about it felt like a real turkey melt... just ridiculous.

Outside of being a bit too salty on the sandwich and a slight pool of oil at the bottom of the mac & cheese everything was quite tasty and filling. Spicy Turkey sandwich is what I ordered. Love the toast in the bread and some chips added to the inside for a little extra crunch. The sandwich came with 2 sides which I ended up splitting into 2 meals. The fries were perfectly flavored and crispy on the outside soft on the inside, just how I like them. Great addition to this neighborhood. Tone back on the salt, as I have seen in other reviews as well, and this could be a 5 star review for me. Customer service was excellent.

You already know what I'm starting with. Parking. No problems here. Huge spacious lots with many options and ample sized parking spaces. We love the Rado Market and have been coming here since after the Yelp event a few months ago. Food is on par and reasonably priced with great flavor. The market is super cute with a lot of choices too. We especially loved the outdoor area and the upper deck patio. It was a bit warm even at 9am so we opted to sit in the downstairs patio. Staff was really nice and they were nice to my child, something you don't get a lot of here in the United States. We ate our food completely up. Wish they had offered some butter for the grits but overall a tasty meal. We both got chicken sausage and you could tell this sausage was house made. Can't wait to go back and try other items and the drinks.

Review is a little overdue, I went to Rado Market for the first time in September courtesy of my lovely colleagues. I'd been in before to look/tour but this was my first time eating. We dined in. I ordered the catfish Poboy with mac & cheese and sautéed greens. Both the catfish and the sautéed greens were so salty. The mac was really good, I was able to get through the greens by eating them with the mac. Thankfully I could, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish them. So imagine salty food with no flavor. Those that I dined with ordered the following: -Southern Classic with buttermilk fried chicken, white rice, sautéed greens, black eyed peas, cornbread muffin -Blackened Catfish with mac + cheese, sautéed greens Both shared that their food was salty as well and that the chicken was overcooked. Two of us ordered the house lemonade, I added lavender as a flavor. The lemonade was incredibly sweet! No for me. I'd definitely return to Rado Market but I'd order something completely different. The service was good, and the space is spacious. I imagine people pop in to eat, drink, and/or get work done.

    Beautiful patio area.

What a wonderful peaceful experience. I have found a new favorite spot to chill, work, support local vendors in an amazing atmosphere. I stopped in after church to grab a bite to eat with family. I opted for a pumpkin spice latte made with almond milk. Let me tell you! It was perfection!!! Service was unmatched! I was promptly greeted and assisted, and also received an educational tour about the local vendors, and their history. So informative. For those with mobility challenges, ramp is available on the front, and an accessible entry is on the back. Seating inside was comfortable as plush chairs were available, along with cushioned chairs. Very nice ambiance with great music. Upstairs is an event space that offers donation jazz, on Sundays. Not sure about other days. Can't wait to try more good and desserts . I will be stopping in more to get a mental break.

Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.
