    Vegan Margherita pizza
    Lou C.

I came here with a group of friends who love to hit up happy hour and know exactly where to go. There is another On the Kirb not too far from this one on Kirby. It was on a Wednesday and I found parking on the street not far from here. First thing I noticed was the margherita pizza. I chose the vegan version with vegan cheese. Friends were looking at me crazy. Margherita pizza has no meat already. No, it's the cheese that I can't eat. I think it was very flavorful. I shared it with a couple of friends. Their reactions were opposite. I don't blame them. Vegan cheese is not really cheese. Hahaha. Mashed potatoes was pretty good too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the atmosphere and the restaurant opens til late.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was excellent. Service was pretty efficient. The waitress had a good memory when taking orders. I don't mind coming back.

I had never heard on On the Kirb prior to this visit, but I now understand how they've managed to quickly spread to several other locations around the city! We ordered the Brussels Sprouts, and Cowboy Burger, nachos, and a few cocktails. All were excellent, and the burger was exceptional! One of the best burgers in Houston, for sure! The waiter gave great recommendations regarding the burger and the nachos. Will definitely eat here again!

Wife and I come here when we are in Houston. This place is awesome. The Brussel Sprouts are out of this world delicious. I have them every time I come. We had the 1/2 priced Tuesday Taco special. Wife ordered the fish tacos. Huge chunks of cod. I had shrimp tacos. Flour tortillas are better choice than corn. The shrimp are by far the Best shrimp tacos I have ever eaten. Out of this world and filled with ample huge shrimp. We love On the Kirk! Staff are fantastic, friendly and provide great service. We have met the manage as well and he is fantastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great music is always playing to provide a great environment to enjoy great food and drinks![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

In town for medical center appointments. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Looked for a local place with good atmosphere and food. The Kirb didn't disappoint[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Sat at the bar and Payton gave me great service and a killer Whistlepig Rye Manhattan. Was Monday night and it was $10 build your own pizza night. Nice medium sized 14" pizza with great fresh toppings and tasty crust. Portnoy score of 8.4 Definitely recommend.

I've always drove past this place, and never thought to come here until I had a lunch meeting. Our server was so patient and sweet. She showed us plenty of photos of the food as we are visual people. We ordered the grill board, and there were plenty of meats. All good. I ordered the grilled salmon and asked for medium rare. Unfortunately, it was too dry for my liking. The side house salad was whatever. However, the others ordered the Shrimp Cavatappi Pasta with extra sauce and paprika on the side. It was shockingly delicious, and I would definitely come back for it. Wish I got the pasta instead.

Everything was great! I always drive by this place but never get a chance to go in until today! Our server, Nick, was so sweet and friendly. He gave us the best food and drink suggestions. The cheese board was so tasty and my husband enjoyed the kabobs. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

I enjoyed this elevated sports bar experience! Our waitress, Claire was adorable and had great recommendations! I was worried at first because upon entry, no one came to greet us at the door. I was thinking OK, not sure if this is a restaurant or a sports bar where we see ourselves. But thankfully, Claire came shortly after and got us taken care of. We were seated in a booth. It was cleaned right in front of us and we made sure to get waters and our drinks. The Mediterranean pizza, the buffalo wings, the brussels sprouts and the burger were all amazing! I was actually so surprised at how good everything was for being a sports bar. The prices were great as well. For myself and my partner we spent just under $70 for appetizers and full meals and a drink. I will be returning as I feel like this is going to be a nice spot to just grab some thing to eat and have a drink with a great atmosphere

Ducky's Pizza is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Houston. The pizza is…read morephenomenal--perfectly crisp crust, quality ingredients, and incredible flavor in every bite. Don't miss the crab ragoon bread--it's rich, unique, and an absolute standout. The space is clean and modern with a lively sports bar vibe, plenty of TVs, and a well-stocked bar. Service was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. For a newer spot, Ducky's is already setting a high bar. Great pizza, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere make this an easy five-star recommendation. I'll definitely be back.

Lately I've been frequenting this spot for lunch and happy hour when in the area. There's a lot to…read morelike about this location. To start, there is a parking lot in the back, which makes it very convenient. The interior is laid out well, with the bar area to the right of the entry and dining to the left. The bar area has a few TVs, which is fantastic when trying to catch a game. Food & Drink - 3.5* There are daily specials, happy hour, lunch, and regular menus. I highly recommend the crab Rangoon cheesy bread for starters, and if you're not all that hungry, it can be made into a full meal. The happy hour menu is a little limiting, but there's enough to like. The pasta is fantastic and comes in a nice small cup portion. They offer a personal 6" cheese pizza that is quite good. Other options are Buffalo cauliflower, meatballs, teenie weenie mcshweenies (mini corn dogs), and a Caesar salad. At the time of this review, these were $5 each and smaller since it's happy hour. The HH drink options are wine by the glass, 22 oz St. Arnold Lawnmowers, an Aperol Spritz, and basically a margarita called the Quack-a-Lack. I don't recommend the margarita. It's not good--too much lime juice, not enough Cointreau, and what tasted like barely any tequila. For lunch, they have a pick two. Options are the Chicken, Italian Chopped, or Fig & Pig sandwiches, but the pizza offering is very odd and out of place. It's their hot honey and pepperoni, which is great, but it's only six inches. More on this later. For the other pick, options are a Caesar salad, garden salad, potato chips, and zuppa del giorno (soup of the day). I recommend the Caesar or the soup. The Montrose and Hot Honey / Pepperoni pizzas are also great options. They recently revamped their menu, and it's unfortunate to see certain options cut. They used to have a buffalo chicken pizza that I found quite good; it is no longer there. I won't go through everything that was cut, but if you've visited regularly, there is a good chance something you ordered is no longer an option. Overall, I find all of the food above average, but nothing is gonna have you thinking, "This is amazing." It is a great, convenient spot for the area that delivers a low-key vibe. Service - 4* The service has always been pretty good. They check in frequently, ask if you want to put anything else in, and know enough about the menu to make good recommendations. The one thing that strikes me a little off is that they seem quite transactional, which I get to an extent--they see dozens of folks a day. However, when someone frequents a place over a short period, that person typically gets recognized and there's a little more small talk with staff. Again, that's just my experience working in the industry; you do want to build a following and customer base. I did not notice that aside from one lady who must come here every day and orders a glass of wine at happy hour, since she was asked, "The usual?" If there were one word to describe the staff I interacted with, it would be "aloof." Pricing / Cost - 3.5* Always subjective, but here's where things just don't make sense, particularly with the lunch menu. They offer a pick two for $18. The regular price for a full-size hot honey and pepperoni pizza is $18, the Fig & Pig sandwich is $17, the chicken sandwich is $17, and the Italian Chopped is $16. So one would think, okay, I'm getting a small salad or soup as the discount. That would align if the pizza were bigger, but on the lunch menu it's a six-inch pizza. May I point out that during happy hour, the six-inch cheese pizza is $5? So somehow, some honey and pepperonis are worth a whole lot more? The regular menu pricing is about in line with what one would expect for apps, entrees, and drinks. I'll close this bit out by stating I have worked in this industry, and I understand that balancing thin margins while getting people in and building recurring customers is harder than ever, especially with rising costs across the board. Landlords want more, ingredients cost more, and retaining reliable labor that can show up and show out to help build the business is a challenge. All that said, they probably need to reevaluate a few things, and that seems to be the case since they just revamped the menu. It would appear they are still figuring it out a little bit. My recommendation: the pizza option on the lunch menu is a poor value. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone; just order a full pizza. Overall - 3.5* There's a lot to like about this spot, while there are areas that need some work. I love the vibe, the convenience of getting in and out, and some of the lunch options. I would recommend it in the evening to grab a pizza or full-size pasta, but I'd likely say skip the happy hour and go elsewhere if you're mainly looking to get some drinks. If you want a small taste of a few great items from the regular menu before making a full deep dive, it's worth a stop.
