Went to On The Kirb to redeem a birthday coupon. Ordered a wrap and a burger. The birthday guest ordered a Caprese Burger. The beef burger was topped with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and sliced tomatoes with basil pesto and fig balsamic glaze. He loved it. Added tallow fries which were also good but seemed like regular fries. I had a Shawarma Wrap. The shawarma-seasoned chicken breast wrap came with romaine, tomatoes, pickles, and garlic toum in a spinach tortilla. It was served with hummus and tortilla chips. So yummy. Our server surprised us with a Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie. Loved the warm skillet pan chocolate chip cookie that was freshly baked. Topped with vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate drizzle and powdered sugar, it was the perfect way to end a nice birthday dinner. Service was great. Made a reservation, but they were not busy. Definitely a sports bar first and foremost. Enormous TV screens line the walls and sound is blasting pretty loudly. It can be a challenge to hear your dining companions and have a conversation. The food is alright, all organic according to their signage, and the vegetables were fresh. But the dishes themselves are just okay, unordinary and lacking in creativity. My avocado toast for instance came with toasted white bread. While On The Kirb was very generous with the avocado, they didn't think it necessary to upgrade the bread, which I thought was odd and slightly disappointing. I ate it, but it's a very forgettable experience. My husband's fish tacos were fresh but equally unremarkable, and the giant pretzel was humongous, but not really tasty. The sides of brussel sprouts and potatoes both were well cooked but lacked seasoning, including salt. The cheesecake my colleague ordered was also just okay, sweeter than expected, and not necessarily in a good way. This is a place where guys can bring their girls to watch the game. The menu is accommodating of organic, vegetarian, pescetarian and gluten-free diets. But it's not really a place for foodies. Well, this is obviously my bad thinking a sports bar that decides to serve cocktails could do it decently. I got a Rosemary based drink and my boyfriend got a thyme blackberry vodka drink. The herbs were so strong for both that they completely overpowered both drinks. I like strong tastes, but an entire drink that tastes entirely of thyme (including the woody stems because someone blatantly included them when making the infusion) is too much. We both tasted it and the boy tried to drink a bit more. I asked our bartender whether the thyme was normally this overpowering. She just said yes. Loooooong pause. Then asked if there was a problem, and I said it's a bit much- we don't really like it. And her answer was, you don't have to drink it. She could have offered to dilute it to make it palatable- if that's the recipe she's given- anything to make us feel welcome. But no, obviously my bad for ordering a cocktail at sports bar So don't order anything but a beer or a canned drink there. Nachos were good. Dropped in after work to try out the steak night special. I beat my friends so I indulged in a little happy hour snack. I got the pisco punch which is a cocktail made with a grape brandy made in Chile. My friends had some other cocktails and everyone enjoyed. My nachos came without the chicken my server was slammed with a 12 top so after waiting about 10 mins I decided to just eat them cuz I was starving. As for steak night it is truly smaller portions compared to other places. However probably a proper portion minus the veggies. We literally got 3 asparagus spears lol. We are thrilled to have found this organic food eatery. Its farm to table organic certified style is what attracted us the most. Additionally, they use beef tallow upon request, bye seed oils! Ample shared parking, lots of seating options (we do make reservations), tons of TVs and good food! Service has always been pretty good; occasionally they get slammed and it backs up a bit but overall no problem. Managers are usually helping and monitoring the floor regularly. On The Kirb has a fun, lively vibe that is great for brunch. The mimosa towers were enormous and served in a super tall, cylindrical pitcher. Usually, sports bar food is kinda meh. Low expectations, right? It's all about watching games? I tell you what - the one place that I know of that bucks this trend is On The Kirb. The food is LEGIT. My main go-to is usually the shrimp cavatappi pasta. Delicious. But I've also tried the pizzas before. They're tasty! And the wings! And the chips 'n queso? I recommend adding the ground beef in the queso. Yummyyyyyyy Service was also off the charts. I was there to watch a game of my friend's alma mater that wasn't on any of the TV's and was hard to find a way to make it work and not get some other customer there at least somewhat irritated. The manager, Gavin, kindly explained this to me but said, as soon as my friend arrived, he would try to find a way. True to his word, as soon as my friend arrived, there was Gavin coming to our table and he figured out a way for our game to be on one of the screens! Highly impressed by this service instead of the typical "sorry we just can't do this today" that I might get elsewhere in a similar situation. From a sports bar perspective, this is a good place if you have one main game that everyone wants to watch. It's become a tradition for me to watch Longhorn games here with my UT buddies. The food truly sets it apart, which is important because for all those coming to join who may not be as into sports, there needs to be more than just sports that appeals, and the food seriously appeals. It's smart to set a reservation ahead of time, if possible. Also, there is a good amount of parking, as this Greenway location is part of a bigger plaza. I'm also a fan of the Kirby location for the same food reasons, but Greenway has more parking. I'll be back! The piece is always good however, this time the pizza at the bottom was really flimsy so even when I warmed it up at home, it was almost like doughy .. I went during lunch time for some lunch with a friend. Service was friendly and pretty quick. We shared a chips and queso appetizer which was supper delicious. For entrees, we had the shrimp tacos, the chicken wrap and a side of fries, which all in total was decently sized and more than enough for us both. Showing a big game or tournament with no sound--because, as the manager said, it "kills the vibe"--completely misses the point of a sports bar. I legit just heard "We Built this City on Rock and Roll"--Rolling Stone honoree as the worst song ever--for the second time. Nothing current, nothing energetic, nothing that matches the moment. I love the space, it's big with a lot of TVs, a great place to watch a game. Server was really nice, but it did take a long time to get water, I think she just forgot the first time we asked. I ordered a caprese burger and requested it be cooked medium. The meat was definitely over cooked, there was zero red in the middle of the patty. The patty was kind of salty. I like the caprese toppings. The fries are tasty but the serving is kind of stingy. I think many other entrees are better, especially the pizzas. Overall, a little pricey for what I got. The grand opening is scheduled for January 10, 2025. Emily was our attentive server. I got a seasonal apple pie tini that she recommended. Good choice! Chips & queso, truffle fries, giant pretzels are some of my go-to-must-order items. This is in the old Cafe Express and Valencia's spot between Potbelly & TDECU. This location has the same great staff, same ambiance with the dark stained wood booths, and most importantly, the same great menu items & cocktails! Met some friends here on a Saturday evening. They have perfect tables for larger groups. This location is not listed on their website yet, but check them out on instagram. With the daily specials, great happy hour menu, and perfectly cooked pizzas, this is the place to go for fresh ingredients, organic options, and sports. For my meal, I had the chicken shawarma wrap. The thick pickles honestly through me off. The chicken flavor was great through. I ordered a beer and a Coke Zero. The Coke Zero was regular Coke, and the beer wasn't what I ordered. After that, the bartender disappeared. Four bartenders stood at the other end of the bar talking to each other while four of us sat there being completely ignored. I tried multiple times to get someone's attention and was ignored every time. After 15 minutes, I got up and left. We ordered the chips and queso with beef, and two kebab plates that our waitress mentioned to us that was off the menu. One chicken and one beef kebab. We did not order any drinks aside from one sweet tea and water. The food was good, fresh. However we were a little taken aback by the $110 bill at the end. It wasn't a problem but it would have maybe been nice to have been made aware the kebab plates were going to be over $40 each? That's wild considering the other prices on the menu being so much lower, even the filet mignon dish was cheaper! It was good food but given the lack of transparency and pricing themselves that high lost my desire to ever return.
