Pretty solid Chinese restaurant in the Katy area. + Good pricing + Peking duck available + Excellent decor + Lots of Chinese classics, too many to list, but my favorites would include the xiao long bao, crispy bottom pao, walnut shrimp, beef/fish poached in chili oil - Slightly a bit aways from the Katy Asiatown, so it does make it difficult to explore, e.g. grab a boba or shop.

Food was decent. They are new and have a Some work to go. I see high potential. Went here for their soft opening. First thing I ordered was an old Fashion and they ran out of the bourbon mid pour with no more in house. Second Ordered - Hot and sour soup and it came out cold. I think it was a simple mistake. They took it back and brought it back right and it was very good. Pecking Duck - was great tasting but came out cold also. The soup dumpling and red chili oil dumplings were great! Inside was nice and cozy. The far left booth by the windows rocks and is un level. I really had high hopes and hope to come back and all these things fixed. This would be a great place in the Katy area and look forward to trying the again.

10 out of 5 stars ... Yes that good! Quite possibly one of the best Chinese restaurants I may have ever had period! Don't be fooled by the exterior, because you walked in you will be blow away with the incredible decor and ambiance Bao and Spices brings to the table, literally! Perfect for lunch or date night. The service was phenomenal. A huge shoutout to Dom and the team. Of all the things we ordered there was not a single miss on the table. Every dish hit. From the scallion pancakes to the Pekin Crispy Skin duck ... i was in heaven. If you are looking for an elevated dining experience with service and food that absolutely delivers, this is the spot.

My husband and oldest son both have food allergies. I had to keep asking what is inside of the dumplings. We ordered Red Oil Dumpling and BBQ Chashu Bao. The red oil dumplings are served on top of chili oil and peanut sauce. The dumplings had a very good flavor but not served hot. Our server didn't come back to check on us. The baos came out steaming hot, fluffy and were good. Overall, the other staff checked on us and were nice and attentive. The only thing we would like to see is what kind of meat or seafood listed for the dumplings. Especially, if there's peanuts in the sauce.

Brand new place in this area. I must write that everything is above standards. The two lady hosts and the feel just going in. Very beautiful inside design and you can right away see the care they take in everything from decor to how the plating is arranged. The customer service was above 5 stars. Everything is. I ordered two separate steamed bao orders, the traditional steamed bao and right away I could tell is was hand made to order. Not sticky or falling apart like some places but very fresh and absolutely delicious. They supplied a wonderful sauce that is above and beyond what you have elsewhere. It was a very mild apple cider that was perfect mixed with the bao. Very light and complimented the meal perfectly. I will be back often and take pics of the food as I ate it all before taking pictures since it was amazing. Pricing is also phenomenal. The whole experience was top notch.

We just stopped by and tried , surprised! Food on Chef's menu is authentic to Asia and yummy. Service is attentive and friendly. We orderee 3 dishes from Chef's menu Crispy chicken, 廣東小炒王 and Yangzhou fried rice all are fantastic. One dry stir fry flat noodles with beef and stir fry cabbage with chili. Both are great as well. Not sure about other dishes as their implied it might more tailor for western vs asian taste. Have one special cocktail with oolong tea and vodka (youthful journey) is good too. We will back again if we ever visit Katy again .

Everything here was delicious! Drinks were strong, portions were big and high quality. Is it too early to call this the best Asian restaurant in Katy? Maybe but we really enjoyed our meal here!

The food was pretty average overall. The only dishes I felt were worth the price were the crispy spicy chicken and the Peking duck. Portions were quite small for how much everything cost. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing--they didn't check on us during the meal, and when I asked for four to-go boxes, we were only given two.

We came during their soft opening so it's not a full menu but it's sufficient with all the good eats available. Service was exceptional, on point, very attentive and the food was coming out as we were still ordering. Egg drop soup was full of flavor, the red oil dumpling stole the show with a sesame sauce at the bottom of the dish that mixed fabulously with all the flavors. Chefs kiss! They don't have an extensive dessert menu just yet but they have a custard and taro bao. We ordered the custard boa that was beautiful and good . Recommend this place . We will come again to try their Peking duck.

    Red oil dumplings--to die for!

I didn't take pictures of everything bc it was too dang good. I could live off the stir fry green beans and the red oil dumplings. Xiao long bao on point too.

It doesn't feel overly greasy at all either. ***Cilantro sauce --- this is a very noteworthy sauce here. This is honestly one of the best rides I've ever had. It's well seasoned and not overly salted at all. The crunch on every bite is amazing! It could not get any better. ***Sandwich (level: honey butter) --- honey butter was a bit lackluster in flavor and texture. Of note, the Whataburger honey butter sauce is much better. The staff here are extremely friendly. Elizabeth was very cheerful and helpful. This added to our pleasant experience and energy. Parking may be a bit tricky depending on what time of the day you go. "DAMAGE CONTROL" On…read moreyesterday, I placed an order through Doordash and requested no bread but called and asked if I could substitute for more pickles. The cashier asked the manager and she was willing to accommodate me. That was nice of her because she could have said no. My order consisted of a tenders basket (Nashville HOt) and large kale salad. It arrived via door dash excellent delivery and kind driver. I opened my food and the SPICY SMELL was literally unbearable. I then started thinking maybe I am being sensitive. I cut a piece and tried to eat it and almost choked from the pepper. REMEMBER I am originally from NOLA so SPICY Is my forte. I immediately called the store and was asked if I wanted to come in or get a refund. I requested a refund than the cashier says " I don't know if we can do that so let me check. I waited a few minutes, then I continued to wait , then I hear staff laughing in background, then someone says "ISN'T THAT WHAT SHE ORDERED" at this moment I became frustrated. I had been busy all morning and needed to sleep for work that night. I headed to the store and you would not believe once I arrived at the store, the cashier was helping customers, and the PHONE WAS OFF THE HOOK by an unoccupied cash register. I immediately requested the manager in a calm tone. The manager VERENICE arrived at the front counter and greeted me. I was so furious so the first thing I did was show her my phone and the phone off of the hook. I was on HOLD for 24 minutes see picture below. She proceeded to apologize and attempted to explain they the call was missed. I further explained that DOOR DASH prices are higher so offering a person to come in the store is not the bet alternative. I ordered DOOR DASH for a reason and it is a huge inconvenience when I have to arrive in store to correct a worker's mistake. SHe understood exactly how I felt and offered a solution. I also requested for her to smell how hot it was as well. She proceeded to tell me they are using a new seasoning and she believes the person put too much. My rebuttal was you have to be more careful in preparing food like that for a customer knowing there is a difference. I know you may be confused at why would I still give them 4 stars because as the MANAGER she listened to constructive criticism, offered a solution and made sure I was satisfied. I believe it is very important as a REVIEWER to be honest and fair while also telling the truth along with offering a the solution. Whomever is the owner of this franchise I am sure you may be disappointed with the "24 minute hold time" but you should be more proud of having a manager in place who does damage control and encourages the customer to return for a better experience as well as fix the food again.

I love the pickled radish though be forewarned if you're not used to them. They will stink but trust me. They taste better than they smell. One important note about Korean wings: since they're double-fried, the bones will break and splinter pretty easily so BE VERY CAREFUL about giving them to younger kids unmonitored. Other items I've tried and while good, not what I would drive here to get (especially with how expensive the wings are). Traditional Original: Reminds of me Hooters wings a little. A bit too plain for me and while they're good, the flavored wings are why I come here. Boneless wings - Tried a couple and while they're good, not worth the price. But we do get these for the younger kiddoes. Secret sauce wings: I'd skip these. Flavor isn't bad, but way over-sauced and the wings are borderline soggy. Needless to say, they don't have the same crisp the Soy Garlic and Honey Garlic wings have.
