Food was decent. They are new and have a Some work to go. I see high potential. Went here for their soft opening. First thing I ordered was an old Fashion and they ran out of the bourbon mid pour with no more in house. Second Ordered - Hot and sour soup and it came out cold. I think it was a simple mistake. They took it back and brought it back right and it was very good. Pecking Duck - was great tasting but came out cold also. The soup dumpling and red chili oil dumplings were great! Inside was nice and cozy. The far left booth by the windows rocks and is un level. I really had high hopes and hope to come back and all these things fixed. This would be a great place in the Katy area and look forward to trying the again.

10 out of 5 stars ... Yes that good! Quite possibly one of the best Chinese restaurants I may have ever had period! Don't be fooled by the exterior, because you walked in you will be blow away with the incredible decor and ambiance Bao and Spices brings to the table, literally! Perfect for lunch or date night. The service was phenomenal. A huge shoutout to Dom and the team. Of all the things we ordered there was not a single miss on the table. Every dish hit. From the scallion pancakes to the Pekin Crispy Skin duck ... i was in heaven. If you are looking for an elevated dining experience with service and food that absolutely delivers, this is the spot.

Delicious Chinese Restaurant with great service, clean facility, distinct flavors and delicious! It came out fast and hot. The servers were friendly and helpful on our big party of eight on a Monday night. Would recommend and look forward to coming back.

My husband and oldest son both have food allergies. I had to keep asking what is inside of the dumplings. We ordered Red Oil Dumpling and BBQ Chashu Bao. The red oil dumplings are served on top of chili oil and peanut sauce. The dumplings had a very good flavor but not served hot. Our server didn't come back to check on us. The baos came out steaming hot, fluffy and were good. Overall, the other staff checked on us and were nice and attentive. The only thing we would like to see is what kind of meat or seafood listed for the dumplings. Especially, if there's peanuts in the sauce.

Brand new place in this area. I must write that everything is above standards. The two lady hosts and the feel just going in. Very beautiful inside design and you can right away see the care they take in everything from decor to how the plating is arranged. The customer service was above 5 stars. Everything is. I ordered two separate steamed bao orders, the traditional steamed bao and right away I could tell is was hand made to order. Not sticky or falling apart like some places but very fresh and absolutely delicious. They supplied a wonderful sauce that is above and beyond what you have elsewhere. It was a very mild apple cider that was perfect mixed with the bao. Very light and complimented the meal perfectly. I will be back often and take pics of the food as I ate it all before taking pictures since it was amazing. Pricing is also phenomenal. The whole experience was top notch.

We just stopped by and tried , surprised! Food on Chef's menu is authentic to Asia and yummy. Service is attentive and friendly. We orderee 3 dishes from Chef's menu Crispy chicken, 廣東小炒王 and Yangzhou fried rice all are fantastic. One dry stir fry flat noodles with beef and stir fry cabbage with chili. Both are great as well. Not sure about other dishes as their implied it might more tailor for western vs asian taste. Have one special cocktail with oolong tea and vodka (youthful journey) is good too. We will back again if we ever visit Katy again .

The food was pretty average overall. The only dishes I felt were worth the price were the crispy spicy chicken and the Peking duck. Portions were quite small for how much everything cost. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing--they didn't check on us during the meal, and when I asked for four to-go boxes, we were only given two.

We came during their soft opening so it's not a full menu but it's sufficient with all the good eats available. Service was exceptional, on point, very attentive and the food was coming out as we were still ordering. Egg drop soup was full of flavor, the red oil dumpling stole the show with a sesame sauce at the bottom of the dish that mixed fabulously with all the flavors. Chefs kiss! They don't have an extensive dessert menu just yet but they have a custard and taro bao. We ordered the custard boa that was beautiful and good . Recommend this place . We will come again to try their Peking duck.

I didn't take pictures of everything bc it was too dang good. I could live off the stir fry green beans and the red oil dumplings. Xiao long bao on point too.

Perfectly roasted Peking duck with crispy skin and tender meat. Served with thin pancakes, fresh cucumber, scallions, and rich hoisin sauce. Absolutely delicious!

Everything here was delicious! Drinks were strong, portions were big and high quality. Is it too early to call this the best Asian restaurant in Katy? Maybe but we really enjoyed our meal here!

Second visit here! We had the spicy edamame, barbecue, bowel buns, and the crispy bottom dumplings. Everything is so good. I did get a few pictures, but not all of them. The spicy dumplings in hot oil is a MUST!

Time to Order: 20-45 minutes? We were in a group so maybe that's not accurate, but we also ordered a lot. Roti Canai (5/5): One of the best roti Canai I've ever had. The curry is thick with potato and super tender chicken and the roti canai bread is chewy but somehow still flaky and flavorful at the same time. It was so good that I ordered another one for myself to go to let my partner try it at home. Malaysian Chicken Satay (5/5): You will read "tender chicken" in my review several times. It's not a joke. The chicken nearly melts in your mouth. The last time I had meat this tender it was a filet mignon that was 6x the price of this dish. Char Kuey Tow (4.5/5) and Mee Goreng (4.5/5): Yeah we got both the flat noodle and the mee goreng. Because both are awesome. Noodles stayed chewy, beansprout and veggies were great, proteins were great. Not too saucy. Solid. Uncle Chen's Sizzling Tofu (4.5/5): We got this seafood style and it comes loaded with shrimp, calamari.. fantastic. Great by itself or on rice. The middle gets a little soggy if you let it sit too long, so chow down on this whole it's hot! Roasted Hainanese Chicken (4/5): Nothing against the dish itself, I just don't like all the bones. Yes, the chicken was beautifully tender. Chicken rice, also fantastic. Curry Chicken Puff (4.5/5): So this was way more filling than I expected. It's like an intense Asian empanada? Totally worth it. Comes out really hot. Lastly, we got a serenade from the man himself. Yes, he pulls out a mic and sings. It's his break from cooking during the dinner rush. So, you might indeed get dinner and a show! It's beautiful to see someone who enjoys what he's doing - and his voice is such that some people think it's a song over the intercom instead of live music, take that how you will :) TL;DR: Absolutely contends for Best in Katy. Yes, it lived up to the hype. Come and eat family style and you won't be disappointed!

Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. We can't wait to go back, and Tiger Noodle will happily be in regular rotation for our family! You can't go wrong!

So in all, I did not love these dishes, they were just average tasting but the prices were high for such average to below average taste. There are other choices within walking distance for better tasting food that cost less.
