Pretty solid Chinese restaurant in the Katy area. + Good pricing + Peking duck available + Excellent decor + Lots of Chinese classics, too many to list, but my favorites would include the xiao long bao, crispy bottom pao, walnut shrimp, beef/fish poached in chili oil - Slightly a bit aways from the Katy Asiatown, so it does make it difficult to explore, e.g. grab a boba or shop. read more

Food was decent. They are new and have a Some work to go. I see high potential. Went here for their soft opening. First thing I ordered was an old Fashion and they ran out of the bourbon mid pour with no more in house. Second Ordered - Hot and sour soup and it came out cold. I think it was a simple mistake. They took it back and brought it back right and it was very good. Pecking Duck - was great tasting but came out cold also. The soup dumpling and red chili oil dumplings were great! Inside was nice and cozy. The far left booth by the windows rocks and is un level. I really had high hopes and hope to come back and all these things fixed. My visit a few days ago was less than desirable I arrived there at 11:15a it wasn't busy. I placed my order of appetizers and entrées. I waited 40 minutes to get my appetizer and then the server kept coming over. I know it's taking long. Please be patient in the meantime the restaurant was Getting full I saw patrons that came in way after I did get their food eat pay for it and then took takeout home my Entrées still never arrived at 1:15p. I said I had enough I'm leaving. The server came over to me and said he spoke with the manager if we wanted to wait and get our order that he would give us a small 15% discount that's absurd I didn't come to the restaurant to get a discount. I came to the restaurant to eat I most definitely won't be going back because what happened to me should not happen to any patron. read more

Everything was delicious. You can"r go wrong here. We ordered way more food than what was needed for 2 people. My 2 favs were the walnut shrimp and Peking duck. We drove from Sugar Land to Katy to celebrate my birthday and the food was worth it. I highly recommend and I'm quite selective about Chinese cuisine! read more

My husband and oldest son both have food allergies. I had to keep asking what is inside of the dumplings. We ordered Red Oil Dumpling and BBQ Chashu Bao. The red oil dumplings are served on top of chili oil and peanut sauce. The dumplings had a very good flavor but not served hot. Our server didn't come back to check on us. The baos came out steaming hot, fluffy and were good. Overall, the other staff checked on us and were nice and attentive. The only thing we would like to see is what kind of meat or seafood listed for the dumplings. Especially, if there's peanuts in the sauce. read more

Brand new place in this area. I must write that everything is above standards. The two lady hosts and the feel just going in. Very beautiful inside design and you can right away see the care they take in everything from decor to how the plating is arranged. The customer service was above 5 stars. Everything is. I ordered two separate steamed bao orders, the traditional steamed bao and right away I could tell is was hand made to order. Not sticky or falling apart like some places but very fresh and absolutely delicious. They supplied a wonderful sauce that is above and beyond what you have elsewhere. It was a very mild apple cider that was perfect mixed with the bao. Very light and complimented the meal perfectly. I will be back often and take pics of the food as I ate it all before taking pictures since it was amazing. Pricing is also phenomenal. The whole experience was top notch. read more

This little place doesn't look like much from the outside. Once you step in, it's a different story. High end feel the staff is friendly and helpful. We had almost one of everything on the menu. The oil dumplings, edamame, and crab wontons were good. I wish the dumplings would have been warmer but they had a good flavor. The dishes came out quickly and service was friendly. It's also decorated well and has a warm/ cozy vibe. The gold bao dessert wasn't good at all. I guess I was anticipating a chocolate flavor of sorts but it tasted like absolutely nothing. First Cyrus was AWESOME! Great service, gorgeous vibes, and really well done food. I am a huge fan of Singapore noodles; I doubt there's a restaurant in Houston whose dish I haven't tried. These were some of the best. The eggrolls were also exceptionally well done, light, crispy and flavorful. The glass shrimp Shumai were a little thick but quite tasty. The food is great. This is my first visit and the staff is so helpful when the menu and provided excellent advice for choices. Ambiance can be romantic and you can set your own tone. The price is reasonable and the presentation of the food was also great. We just stopped by and tried , surprised! Food on Chef's menu is authentic to Asia and yummy. Service is attentive and friendly. We orderee 3 dishes from Chef's menu Crispy chicken， 廣東小炒王 and Yangzhou fried rice all are fantastic. One dry stir fry flat noodles with beef and stir fry cabbage with chili. Both are great as well. Not sure about other dishes as their implied it might more tailor for western vs asian taste. Have one special cocktail with oolong tea and vodka (youthful journey) is good too. We came during their soft opening so it's not a full menu but it's sufficient with all the good eats available. Service was exceptional, on point, very attentive and the food was coming out as we were still ordering. Egg drop soup was full of flavor, the red oil dumpling stole the show with a sesame sauce at the bottom of the dish that mixed fabulously with all the flavors. Chefs kiss! They don't have an extensive dessert menu just yet but they have a custard and taro bao. We ordered the custard boa that was beautiful and good . Recommend this place . I ordered from this place on Uber Eats. It was pretty basic Chinese food. The crispy chicken was dry, and the wonton soup was nothing special. I've had better at takeout spots around Katy. They charged me 28$ for the chicken and like 5$ for the soup, I thought I was kinda a rip off tbh. read more

We reserved to celebrate Mother's Day with a party of 8 people. Service was great and there were several stand out dishes. Would recommend the popcorn chicken, crispy roast chicken, honey walnut with jumbo shrimp, salt and pepper squid, peking style pork chop, eggplant with garlic sauce, and peking duck. Peking duck was crispy and quick to arrive at the table. Calamari was crunchy with a nice hint of curry flavor. Xiao long bao had good flavorful broth and did not explode when handled. It had a good consistency with a well balanced ratio of meat to wrapping. The server was attentive and kept our glass full. The inside was clean with tasteful simple elegant decor. It's so upsetting. We stood up and left the store. 20 mins of wait to be seated and 50 mins still waiting to get food. Tables ahead of us are still getting serve one plate at a time. We didnt even get our appetizers. Just water and she came back to refill 3 times. Yes it was a soft opening for this facility and I guess they werent ready yet. Their service looks great and the shop is beautiful but food wise, it ruined it for all. Will I come back? Idk.. If i read review on improvements, maybe.. Not that will probably take couple months. This is a wonderful little gem in Katy. From the outside, just a regular looking restaurant in a strip mall. You walk in and it's transformed into a beautiful Asian atmosphere. We had several appetizers and each was fantastic. This is our new dim sum/chinese restaurant whenever we crave that. We have always loved dim sum box, and still do, but this restaurant is absolutely delicious and a nice ambience. The young man who was our waiter was pretty great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the red oil dumplings, crispy bottom pork xiao long bao, shrimp xiao long bao, pork belly buns and chicken fried rice. Everything was delicious but our favorite was by far the red oil dumplings - the sauce was INCREDIBLE! I'm a lover of Peking Duck and Bao Spices advertises their Peking Duck as one of the best. First let me say, the restaurant should be listed as Asian Fine Dining. It is cute, quaint, and a very pleasant atmosphere due primarily to the attention to detail of Afina(sp) the owner and manager of Bao and Spices. She truly puts her heart in ensuring that all the staff is attentive to the customers. Now I was fortunate to attend their "Soft Opening" and I have to say the experience was great. The food: I ordered the Peking Duck as my primary meal and an appetizer of fried dumplings. The dumplings were good, pretty run of the mill as dumplings go. Now the Peking Duck was good as well, you have to know it's not the traditional rendered down version of Peking Duck, while the staff saw me somewhat puzzled when it arrived, Ms. Afina, visited the table and asked for my honest opinion, now it was quite good, just not the traditional rendered down Peking Duck. It had more of the Fried Chicken appearance and as she stated they have one Duck they use for several dishes. It was very good and what I thought was the best selling point was that they serve buns and pancakes (you choose) to come with the Peking Duck. A point of concern is that I love to douse my Duck in lots of Peking Duck/Hoisin Sauce, when I asked for some additional sauce the waitress left, returned almost immediately and let me know there would be an additional $1 charge for the extra sauce, which I agreed to. When the bill arrived you can see from the pictures, it was $2.50. I expressed my concern with Ms. Afina and she quickly corrected the issue. I also ordered the Black Gold Lava Bao, these were a recommendation of Ms. Afina, a very good recommendation. They were the perfect example of sweet and salty. The meal was good, the service was excellent, all in all I give them five stars. They do offer a Military, Veteran, LEO, and Emergency Responder discount.
