So bad . The food is terrible and serves no good. They only do American business and do not want service for Chinese customers

KATY, TX 77494 / AMERICAN CHINESE / MULTIPLE VISITS / TAKEOUT DINNER +One of my little ones really like their steamed pork dumplings. +The shredded pork in garlic sauce is good. -Everything else is a hit or miss. -They do not use traditional yellow ("egg") noodles for their lo mein. Instead, they use flat flour noodles. -The orange beef and general tso's chicken are nasty. This Western Chinese restaurant used to be our go-to for takeout, but the last few visits have really gone down hill.

Real authentic Chinese food Definitely will come back again! The Pork Belly w. Pickled Veggies Clay Pot tasted exactly what I have expected and more than enough for one person to enjoy.

For Covid they are only doing carry out or delivery. I had the Mongolian beef which was fine. I just thought it was a small portion compared to other restaurants and not much beef. The complimentary Kimchi was a nice touch though.

Love the authentic food, great service and ambiance. The calamari is the best I have ever had

This place packs a one two. The food is flavorful, the decor is traditional and cozy, and the staff is very friendly. I recommend this place 100%. The parking is great and the location is right off of i-10.

One of the nicer interiors for a Chinese restaurant.

One of the nicer interiors for a Chinese restaurant. We have always had a very pleasant dining experience every time we stopped. The staff are very polite and the food very good. It has taken us a while to find a Chinese restaurant we both loved. We love the pan fried dumplings as an appetizer, and we usually get an order of the vegetable fried rice and General Tso's chicken to share. I love their vegetable fried rice and there is enough left over for lunch the next day.

Metal ball

Arrived about 230 for a late lunch. Still had two tables with dishes and food from lunch. One table was picked up. The other table still had dirty dishes when I left at 3:10 food was scorching hot from coming straight out of the microwave. Beef was chewy from being microwaved. Egg drop soup was still burn my mouth hot when I left. The only thing nice about this whole restaurant is the decoration and tables. Found this little ball in the picture in my food when I was doing and nearly broke, my tooth.

They served up brown, wilted broccoli in the chicken and broccoli.

We use to enjoy this place but the latest take out was awful. I ordered my usual chicken and broccoli and the broccoli was covered in brown patches ( how you know it's bad at the grocery store) and the entire dish was extremely oily and gross. Will not return.

Love the honey lime tea. Service and food are consistently very good. We especially like the hot oil wontons and tofu with spicy sauce.

Uncle Chin's Kitchen - Malaysian Curry Chicken

Two words: Absolutely spectacular! I hadn't eaten in a few days (long story) and I found myself in…read moreKaty on a Friday so I did a quick Yelp search and came upon this place. As I dug deeper, I read Jando's glowing review word-for-word and found myself salivating. Well, I ventured out to S. Mason for lunch, found the place easily, appreciated the ample and free parking, and walked in. I had read before that they used to be closed on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but now they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but open for dinner on Saturdays. (See my photos.) Anyhow, we walked in and found the place homey. Nothing fancy - just a nice, clean, homey Malaysian restaurant. Not too big, and not too small. We placed our order of roti canai, stir fried flat rice noodles, seafood sizzling tofu, and topped it off with a Malaysian milk tea. Oh my - we were satisfied and stuffed as a party of 2. We ended up boxing up almost 40% of the meal. The roti was near perfection - crispy, hot, flaky. The dipping sauce was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of heat. It included chunks of chicken and potato. You must absolutely order this one. I love me some stir fried flat rice noodles so we got that one with chicken. Overall, it was excellent. Portions were a tad smaller than I would like for the price. Also it could use a little bit of hot sauce so we asked for a side of sriracha which they gladly and quickly brought. The sizzling tofu - OMG so good. I can't even explain it. I just love it so much and the portions are huge. I'm not sure what the vegetable flavor would taste like but we tried the seafood one and have no regrets. Lastly the milk tea was just because we felt like splurging and it was also a great decision. The tea flavor itself is deep and the overall drink is very nice. We got it iced. And an honorable mention - we ran into Uncle Chin (at least we assume it was Uncle Chin) and told him his food was amazing. I think he really appreciated it. He seems like a super nice guy and I want his business to do really well. If that wasn't Uncle Chin then we talked to a random person and raved about the food... Many thanks for Jando for the raving review that convinced me to try this place. Loved it and would absolutely come back as soon as possible!

It gives the place a very homey feel. The servers were all super friendly and attentive and the owner was also very kind and checked on us a few times. The food and drinks were all delicious, good portions, and prices were reasonable. Everything came out in a timely manner. The drinks took a little longer, but it wasn't a big deal. We also ordered a noodle dish that I forgot to take a picture of. One thing to note: I wouldn't recommend using the restroom if you can avoid it. My little one really had to go and it wasn't clean at all or well kept which was a bit of a downside especially with a kid. Overall, we had a great experience and I'm glad we finally tried it.

Food and drinks: This place has well designed menu that lets you easily choose from many different dishes. The food was very flavoursome, well seasoned and balanced. All foods had traditional flavours to them. You can choose flavoured green teas to accompany your meal. Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. We can't wait to go back, and Tiger Noodle will happily be in regular rotation for our family! You can't go wrong!

hunan kitchen has been a staple for yearssss, truly my fav restaurant ever and hands down the best…read morechinese food i've had!! the interior has plenty of seating, making it great for both family dinners and group gatherings. the owners are a couple: a super friendly woman and the diligent chef. the service is always attentive and fast and the food comes out SOOO quickly. portions are also huuuge at consistently high quality. what really sets this place apart is the depth of flavor, the spice levels are just right. you taste the chili, sichuan peppercorn, and mala fragrances, along with that unmistakable wok hei!! nothing feels muted or overly aggressive. - one must-order is the hunan bbq fish (君山烤鱼). at just over $30, ITS SUCH A STEALLL for what you get: an entire seabass served in a massive chafing dish, surrounded by a medley of vegetables like cauliflower, potatoes, lotus root, and peppers. the fish is tender and flaky, not overly salty or spicy, but infused with a beautifully fragrant mala heat. it's perfect for celebratory meals or sharing with a big group - the sautéed preserved pork with dried smoked bamboo shoots (烟笋炒腊肉) is an absolute classic. the cured pork belly has an intense smokiness that hits you immediately, with alternating bites of rich fatty pieces and deeply savory lean cuts. the bamboo shoots add texture and soak up all that flavor - their poached sliced beef in hot chili oil (水煮牛肉) is another standout. the beef is incredibly succulent, swimming in a chili oil broth that's bursting with aroma without being overwhelming. this dish can often be too oily or salty elsewhere, but hunan kitchen nails the balance! - the sauteed diced chicken with chili pepper (辣子鸡) is my all time FAVVV and something i've loved since growing up. the chicken is perfectly crispy and crunchy while staying juicy on the inside. paired with dried chilies and peppercorns, the numbing spice slowly creeps in and builds as you eat. its ADDICTING in the most dangerous way, and i genuinely cannot stop eating it every time - the stir-fried diced chicken with green peppercorn (青花椒鸡丁) offers a slightly different flavor profile that i really love. the chicken is tender, and the green peppercorn brings a refreshing, citrusy, almost electric numbing sensation that feels lighter and brighter compared to red chilies. it's bold and a really fun contrast to some of the other dishes - for something non spicy, the seafood and japanese tofu (海鲜玉子豆腐) is PURE COMFORT FOOD for me. the tofu is lightly crisped on the outside but sooo silky inside, topped with soft fish fillets, huge shrimp, and a rich, glossy sauce packed with umami. i ascend every single time i eat it LOL overall, hunan kitchen is insanely worth it for the price. the portions are massive, the quality is consistently high, and for how authentic and flavorful the food is, it's honestly such a steal. you get way more than what you pay for, especially when ordering family style, and they even offer lunch specials, which makes it easy to come back often for a quick meal. it's such an underrated spot in katy and i wish more people talked about it :') this place deserves way more love!!
