The service here was amazing, we ordered the Your Favorite Combo and Dakgalbi. Everything was delicious and fresh, and we were offered free banchan refills. I will definitely come here next time I am in the Katy area and would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Korean food.

Tasty Ko is an amazing neighborhood Korean spot. They offer both Korean bbq and traditional dishes that are great to share. They have tables for grilling and ones without. The staff are all friendly and the place is clean and simple. This occasion, we shared the spicy chicken dish and bulgogi bibimbap. The chicken was quite spicy and I enjoyed the addition of cabbage and rice cakes in the mix. The banchan or side dishes are all very flavorful and accompany the meal well. My favorite is the bean sprouts. Definitely check out this spot if you're in Katy!

this has to be by far my most favorite Korean BBQ restaurant in Houston! Not even BORI compares to this family owned restaurant. They have the best kimchi chigae, mandus, and meats. Also, their banchan is delicious! The owners are very sweet and hospitable. Every time I come see my parents in katy I stop by to eat.

The service is great. A good place to get your korean food fix. I've tried the kimchi jiggle, gamjatang, oyster pancake and kimchi pancake.

Spicy Cold Noodles: These were really good. Loved the noodles that they used... great chewy texture. Sauce was sweet and spicy & the vegetables added a refreshing kick. Seafood Pancake: Good amount of seafood but I wish it was crispier! 3.5/5 Galbi: A bit underwhelming. Could've been more tender and I wish it had more of that marinated flavor. I quite like the side dishes though, especially the jelly one.

Service was a 5/5, very attentive and caring staff! I ordered the seafood pancake, galbi and bibim naengmyun. The seafood pancake flavor was good, but a little doughy. I would definitely request it to be extra crispy next visit. The galbi flavor, consistency and quality were all good! And the bibim naengmyun was also delicious.

My wife and I love visiting this neighborhood joint whenever we want Korean food and don't want to drive far. The owner and workers are very nice and attentive. The food is great and fairly priced. We usually get the seafood pancake (extra crispy), japchae, and the donkatsu. We usually view the japchae as a side, but here it's delicious enough to be main entree. The donkatsu is one of our favorites in town. It's a huge portion that's flattened very thin and fried to extra crispy perfection. My wife always has leftovers for another meal since it's a big portion. Their katsu sauce is the best. I want to assume it's made in house because it tastes different from what you usually get. It tastes like there's tomato sauce in it so it has a tangy aspect vs your usual sweet sauce. It also comes out warm.

Not sure what happened to this restaurant but used to be good. Servers are still friendly like usual and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. Ambiance is still clean and adequate space while having that Korean restaurant vibe to it. Food are very oily and salty. Seafood pancake ($14) used to be so crispy yet soft. It was oily and soggy last night. Also, they no longer serve it on a hot clay plate. Galbitang ($23) wasn't bad but saltier than I have anticipated. Bulgogi bibimbap ($16) was oily, even oilier the day after. I mixed in white rice at home to try to tame the oiliness. Side dishes was just meh, more in the vinegar side. Overall, it's okay - not bad but not great. By the way, they close at 10 PM, not 11 PM.

Sweet service, good food, and vast menu. I stick to gamjatang and it's quite filling for $14. The jjajjangmyun is similar to that of h-mart, and the Mandoo guk is warm and great to eat during a cold night. Cheers!

Hae Mul Pa Jun:" The seafood pancake " it's a little smaller than the typical size at other Korean restaurants. The pancake a little greasy and slightly burnt . The Army soup : a little sour because it is more kimchi in it. The fish cake: slightly sweet but tasty . Extra caramel taste to it . Black bean noodles: A good combination savory and sweetness packed in the black colored noodles . Environment: it was hot today inside the restaurant. It's not good for business when the customers are sweating and trying to enjoy their food.

KATY, TX 77450 / KOREAN / 07-31-23 / DINNER +The mool naeng myun (noodles in cold beef broth) was pretty good. +They have a 12-and-under rice and protein offering that's $8. -The ojingeo dolsot (spicy octopus over rice in hot stone pot) left a lot to be desired. There wasn't much flavor to it except for loads of red pepper flakes. -The jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) was extremely salty. -The kids bulgogi (marinated thinly-sliced ribeye Korean BBQ) was extremely salty. -The decor is a bit dated and could use some renovating. -The restrooms need to be cleaned and remodeled. -Like other reviewers, the owner/managers were not friendly or customer experience-oriented. -It looks like they have an old school point-of-sale system, as we were given a handwritten check; see the attached picture. -No loyalty rewards program. There's over 80 items on the menu to choose from, which doesn't necessarily equate to everything being good. I asked for their best, most popular dish and our waitress recommended that we order the soups and BBQ dishes. Overall, I am not sure I would return but the Korean cuisine options are so limited in Katy/Houston.

Greet as I walked in. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's and open area with partitions. Family friendly and clean. Normally, I don't comment on the water but for some reason the water was crisp, clear and refreshing. We started with a Seafood Pancake - crispy and delicious Budae Chigae Spicy stew of marinated pork, sausage, kimchi, onion, carrot, zucchini, green onion, spam, cheddar cheese, rice cake, and ramen noodle. So delicious I almost finished the whole thing, comfort in a bowl. Spicy but not too Spicy, the whole stew flavor bombs with ever bite. The sides were ok. If you are in Katy, stop by TastyKo.

The menu is big, but every item on it is executed so well. The flavors are comparable to that you'll get in Korea, with the side dishes few but perfect (the kimchi, jjangachi, and radish kimchi). My favorite is the gamjatang---there is so much meat, the potatoes are piping hot, and the soup is perfectly seasoned and rich. The pancakes and blood sausages are also delicious. I love coming here whenever I crave authentic Korean food: everything from the service to the meal itself is top-tier. The prices are also very very reasonable, especially lunch prices! Parking is plentiful and it's right off the freeway. You have to come here for the best Korean food in the area---I drive all the way from the Medical Center to come here, and it never disappoints!

Every single dish was spot-on and the portions were quite generous. If I had to pick, the Japchae, Jajang Myeon, and Spicy Seafood Jjampong Soup were especially memorable. A thick noodle is used for the Japchae which held on to the flavor really well and provided more of a bite. The Jajang Myeon and Soup were absolutely bursting with flavor - bold, rich, and truly satisfying. They perfectly captured the essence of what these dishes should taste like: delivering a home-cooked taste at restaurant quality. As typical of Korean restaurant, every meal comes with an assortment of banchan. The kimchi was perfection and it seems like there are unlimited refills for the banchan. Let's not forget that this is a Pocha! There are lots of drink options and they are open late. This also makes for a great place for large groups and seating ranges from open tables or private booths for those looking for something more private. There is an open stage where I suppose open-mic karaoke used to take place, but as of 01/2025 management has put up signs stating it's currently not in use due to noise complaints from the neighbors. Still, there are plenty of private karaoke rooms to be put to use. This place is a hidden gem - it seems like a well-kept secret tucked away in this little neighborhood. I really hope the place gets more traffic in the future. They really deserve it! Overall really great place to come chill at with friends they've got the food, drinks, and karaoke covered.

The other thing was that our server was way too busy and focused on other table or they were short staffed during afternoon and the place was empty not packed nor busy. They typically speak English, are friendlier, and address you as sir or ma'am. The young staff are the ones hosting, ordering, and handling the bill. The older staff are the ones cooking your meat in front of you. It's a hit or miss as I have been here and another location multiple times. Not all, but some of the cooking staff are very hasty to cook as they jump from table to table. They splattered oil (which can happen) and didn't apologize about the incident. No acknowledgment. The older staff are not as friendly. But again, I have seen moments, where they are so considerate, and cook at another table (other table was empty). Could be a language barrier thing also. I prefer that they slow down on the cooking, or even allow me to cook myself. 2. Price - we roughly paid $90 for 3 people. 1 meat dishes is roughly $30. 3. Haha. Instead they have KPop music videos playing on tv. Dress code here is casual. Table is small for this type of food. 4. Food - They have combination deals, but we opted to order individually. We decided to add as we needed more. For a party of 2.5, we had about 3 meat dishes. That was more than enough. If this is your first time, I recommend to get their BEEF BRISKET, PORK GALBI, and THINLY SLICED PORK BELLY. You get one bowl of rice per order of meat dish. You have to pay extra for any extra bowls of rice. The meal was good each time we come! 5. Cleanliness - dining area and restrooms are clean. SUMMARY: I do recommend this place for Korean BBQ.
