This was a very cool place. The staff was extremely friendly. The decor was really nice inside. The food was a different experience of Korean barbecue than I've had before-cooking on a stone instead of a grill. I didn't take any pictures of the rice bowls, but they had a different selection and the kimchi one was really good if you want a different expense for Korean barbecue check this place out.

WOW!! We wanted to find a quality korean bbq place and this definitely met our expectations. It is a pretty expensive experience; however, I do think it is worth it for every once in a while!! The server was great and helped us with our choices for what to order. For appetizers, we got the gochujang fried shrimp, which was DELICIOUS. The shrimps were crunchy and HUGE. The sauce was a little spicy and sweet and perfect with the shrimp. I'd definitely get this dish again! The sotteok was equally as yummy but not as unique so I would only get it if I was craving it. The seafood pancake was super crispy and full of seafood! I always get seafood pancake with korwan bbq, and I'd get this one again. Now onto the star of the show, the meats! Since this was our first time, we got the chef's table which came with 4 preselected meats and 2 sides. We got the corn cheese and kimchi, which were both decent. Out of the 4 meats, our favorite was the unmarinated kalbi, which was probably the best kbbq kalbi I've ever had. It was soooo tender and delicious with all of the sauces included! We got 2 more half servings of it just because it was sooooo good. I'll be dreaming of this meat :-) The pork belly was also super goood as well and a nice contrast from the beef. All in all, I'd just get the unmarinated kalbo and pork belly next time if I were to go back, which I definitely will. Cooking on the stone is a fun experience but it does cool down quite quickly. We only changed it once during our meal but probably could have changed it once more since at the end our meat was cooking slowly and thus wasn't as hot and charred. Overall a cool experience and can't wait to go back!

Came in for a quick lunch with a friend. It was pretty quiet during early afternoon. Really great lunch options with affordable pricing. Service was great, swapping out our hot stone when needed. Always a pleasure dining here

Absolutely Amazing! A Hidden Gem of Authentic Korean BBQ! We just visited StoneAge Korean BBQ restaurant, and I had to leave a review because this place deserves all the love and more! As Koreans, we have high expectations when it comes to Korean food--and this place blew us away. First of all, the meat quality is outstanding. You can taste the difference--premium cuts, beautifully marbled, and the yangnyeom (marinade) was spot-on. Full of flavor without overpowering the natural taste of the meat. Every bite was perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. Even the side dishes (banchan) were done just right--marinated and balanced with that authentic Korean home-cooked flavor. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and nothing tasted like it was rushed or pre-prepared. It honestly felt like a meal made with heart. What really made this experience special, though, was the service. The couple running this place are so hardworking, kind, and welcoming. You can tell they really care--not just about the food, but about every customer who walks in. If you're looking for real Korean BBQ with top-tier ingredients, amazing service, and authentic flavors, you NEED to try Stone Age. We'll absolutely be coming back for sure and bringing friends!

Combo meat meal for 2

First time eating at StoneAge as we were driving through Houston. The meat and sauces were amazing.. The sauces are what made the difference, Including the salad dressing. We did the stone grill shareable combo meal to get to try four different proteins. Christian did a great Job explaining everything to us and gave us a great recommendation on which salad dressing to get. We will be back!!

Didn't like the egg but rice and meat were good.

I've been wanting to try a new type of Korean bbq, and liked the hot stone concept. Like the location, restaurant is nice inside and staff was friendly and helpful. We got the combo for 2 with garlic shrimp and pork belly. Seasame dressing salad , good. Bimbipap, average. Spicy edamame, awful. Kimichi, awful. Potato salad, no thanks. Chicken skewers, not good. Pork belly, delicious. Garlic shrimp, didn't taste garlicy at all, average Sauces on the side, good. We didn't get to try any of their soups or apps. Overall, if I came back again, I would only do the meat and stone, that part was good and maybe try one of their soups. But I will say, the prices for the meats a la carte are pricey. $45 for a plate of galbi is crazy, considering there are so many AYCE korean bbq restaurants for way less per person. If you go just for the experience, I'd suggest stick with meats a la carte and try the other options on your own.

I took my GF here for her birthday and I couldn't be happier. They were very welcoming and even had a lil happy birthday sign and flowers decorating the table. This was our very first time trying Korean BBQ and from start to finish it was a great experience. Our waitress was nice, personable and also gave us a lil cooking lesson. I honestly felt like we were having like a 10 course meal. The food was great, ( cooked by yours truly ) and survived to eat another day. The meatballs were my absolute favorite, I never had anything like this before. I could honestly sit down and eat at least 37 of them. All in all it was a great experience, something about cooking over an 800 degree stone that just ties it all together.

Absolutely amazing food and service, came with my niece and daughter and my friend and the atmosphere is great and I would totally recommend and come back for more!

This place has a really nice concept but it felt like a nice place that I'd go once for the experience and picture then never go again. The food was good but I decided on the rating because I could get better food for the price. Service: 4 We went right when it open so it may be different during rush hour but it was nice how the staff was attentive and would check in on us. However, I did wish that they explained how to prepare the stone for the meat. Food: 3.5 When the sotteok came and was amazing I had high hopes for everything else. However, it was the highlight of the meal. While components of the meal were good. There were small things that made the meal feel incomplete which left me disappointed at the end. Sotteok: 5 This was my favorite! The rice cakes were cooked perfectly so they were crispy and soft! Plus the sauce blended perfectly with the sausage/rice cake combo! Seafood Pa Jeon: 2.5 I was really shocked when it came out because there were large parts that were burned. Especially because older Asians and especially Koreans don't eat things that are burned to that extent since they believe it could cause cancer. Unfortunately I didn't ask for it to be recooked since I thought it a new concept that was suppose to add something to the pancake so I ended up just eating the pancake and tasting the char which overwhelmed the actual pancake. $10 wasn't bad for a seafood Jeon but it was half the size of one from other Korean restaurants and it had less seafood Stone grill NY strip: 3 Basically just Unami flavors and pinches of saltiness. If you are a meat eater this is probably perfect for you! While the cut of meat itself was worth 5 stars. The issue was that there weren't component of a normal Korean BBQ which caused the meal to be one dimensional since there was no complexity. For example, I would normally put pickled radish or some type of side to help cut that Unami taste to make it more lighter and so it would balance out the lettuce. However, there were no traditional side dishes provided and the lettuce wrap kit was very basic compared to what you could do with the side dishes at other places. Also, they didn't explain how the meat should be cooked but luckily the meat didn't stick to the stone without the oil that was provided in the side. I appreciated that they gave us rice even if we didn't pick it as one of the two sides! Korean fried chicken fried rice: 3.5 The fried chicken itself was good but it was mediocre compared to other Korean fried chicken I had.

A very nice Korean restaurant in Katy. They are known for Korean BBQ but on hot stone. The service was really attentive, even the owner chef Choi came out and walked around and check on the customers. It's nice to have a fancy Korean BBQ restaurant in Katy. So people who lives in Katy or further west don't need to drive too far for good Korean food. But it's still worth the drive if you live in Houston for this place.

Must try. Had a reservation for 3 for 6 pm on a Friday night. The parking can be taxing if you come later bc there are so many restaurants in this plaza. We opted for the stone age set for 2-4 people for $79 which included: Wings (4) House salad Spicy edamame Potato salad Kimchi Rice (2) Lettuce kit (wrap the meat) Bibimbap C.A.B flat iron top blade Pork belly Also ordered the japchae (cause it's my fave) The stone comes out hot. The pork belly is partially cooked (it's a thick cut of meat) and you cook it through on the stone. It was really tender, juicy and delicious. The top blade was silky and good. Everything was really good. The japchae and bibimbap were well so very good. There is also toppings like garlic cloves, peppers and dipping sauces like sesame oil + blk pepper and ssamjang. The service was top knotch. Our waittress.(don't remember her name) but was knowledgeable about the food and gave us great drink suggestions. She was also pretty and gave us some kbeauty product recommendations. There was also a guy name Ryo that was so nice and attentive. Before we even left, we all agreed that we'd def come back again even if it's a drive for us. Worth it!.

What should I say? Anything beyond this is just pure blissful mess talking. My wife had seen this place for a while and didn't think too much of it. We are slapping ourselves now tbh. The food was great. The service great. And the atmosphere is great! Everything we tried is below and ranked out of 5 (spoiler...the bulgogi Mac and cheese was freaking great! It got a 12 lol!). Overall, we loved it here and we are already planning on coming back. Some things about the food. And really there is only one. I am a big dude; let's just make that clear. And I even had to ask for a Togo box for my stone bowl. It was THAT MUCH FOOD! Bulgogi Mac & Cheese: 12/5 Steamed Egg: 5/5 Bulgogi Rice Stone Bowls with Fried Egg: 5/5 Corn & Cheese: 5/5 Kimchi: 5/5 Mango Parfait: 5/5

From the moment…read moreyou step into the clean, large restaurant, you get greeted by the loveliest Korean ahjummas and are seated at a table next to a TV playing some K-Drama. The menu is big, but every item on it is executed so well. The flavors are comparable to that you'll get in Korea, with the side dishes few but perfect (the kimchi, jjangachi, and radish kimchi). My favorite is the gamjatang---there is so much meat, the potatoes are piping hot, and the soup is perfectly seasoned and rich. The pancakes and blood sausages are also delicious. I love coming here whenever I crave authentic Korean food: everything from the service to the meal itself is top-tier. The prices are also very very reasonable, especially lunch prices! Parking is plentiful and it's right off the freeway. You have to come here for the best Korean food in the area---I drive all the way from the Medical Center to come here, and it never disappoints!

As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town.
