I got a huge bowl of janjjangmyeon (#4 Black bean Noodles/ $10.99) and the Mini portion of the pork tangsuyuk (Sweet & Sour Pork/$4.99). Both were served nice and hot. I felt like the noodles were overcooked and too soft. And they were a little heavy handed with the sticky sweet sauce for the pork. But everything tasted very good. And the "mini" portion of the pork was plentiful. I couldn't even finish the giant bowl of noodles. Would probably try some other items from them again in the future. We drove out to Katy because I wanted to eat at the Food Court in H Mart. I know from Austin H Mart that the Food Court restaurants are good, and overall, there's such a great vibe there. Plus, I could shop at H Mart after lunch and pick up my favorites like the Pink Pineapple and other items I can't find at the local grocery stores. But getting back to Chef Han! I was very pleased with my dish. It was just the two of us, but we ordered three entrees because we know the food is always good at the Food Court in H Mart. We got the Singapore Noodles, which were very good and very tasty with the right amount of spice, and the Stir-fried Glass Noodles with rice; this was delicious and my new favorite. Convenient enough to order Korean-Chinese cuisine here in Katy. I tried ordering the kkanpunggi (spicy garlic chicken) w/ less spice but the cashier said they couldn't adjust the spice level to it. I don't know if people who's been complaining have ever eaten Korean Chinese cuisine but some of these reviews are hilarious; we used to go to North China which was the only option to Korean Chinese cuisine near Katy and they are way more expensive and much smaller in portion. Chef Han's menu has been simple and cheap. We also got food from neighboring venues at the food court and they were more expensive. I really liked their Ja Jang noodle. I did not have high hope before I ordered, but when I tried their sauce, I knew the Ja Jang noodle had to be good. Reason for four star is because, when you have noodle and sauce together on first bite, you might think they are like separate food. However, as you keep eating it, taste comes along with it. Ordered it mild but it had no taste at all. Despite the red color, the soup base was incredibly bland. A large portion of noodles to a tiny portion of seafood. The saving grace of this dish was the few larger pieces of shrimp which were cooked perfectly. The rest of the plate tasted similar to the over starchy soup in which it was heavily coated. However, the sweet and sour pork was very disappointing. The pork was hard that it seemed like it was fried days ago and had very old oil taste for the batter. Today was the first time I ordered from Chef Han's, and it won't be my last! I decided to try a different stall for lunch and opted for Chef Han. I felt like eating Ja Jiang Noodles. It was fairly inexpensive. The quality of the noodles were fine. The black bean sauce with the pork and onions were good. Everytime we eat at Chef Han the food is super delicious. Me and my sons love their fried rice and the portion is enough for two adults to split. Their sweet and sour pork is quite delightful too. I love the amount of veggies that come in the sweet and sour sauce whenever I order it and the pork stays crispy even in the sauce. Their jjajjangmeun is right on the money too. We were there yesterday and ordered food to eat and wasn't made right so we asked them politely to remake it and had eaten it now family has food poisoning this morning. We tried the Kan poong chicken, jjajangmyun, chungdu tangmyun, and lo mein. And they are amazing! I had low hopes since it was part of a food court inside H mart but they totally changed my perspective. I love their food but their operating hours are never consistent.. some days I can come here and can get dinner at 7pm, I came in today at 3:45pm and no one is here. The menu is up on the screens, lights are on, but no one is up front or in the back and they look like they closed up for the night because they're tray return cart is tucked behind the counter.
