    3. Black Bean Noodles

We got the black bean noodles and it was soo good! The dish came out fast and I love that it came in a re-usable bowl instead of styrofoam!

Combo: jjamppong (seafood soup) and jajangmyeon
    Tiffany H.

I can never decide between jajangmyeon and jjamppong, so why not both?! I was surprised by the portion size for the combo option, and both were delicious! The jjamppong had so much seafood, and the black bean noodle is more on the sweet and savory side. The food hits the spot, and I would definitely order from here again!

Chef Han specializes in 중화 요리 Korean-Chinese cuisine; A hybrid of Chinese/Korean cuisine developed by ethnic Chinese people in Korea. The most popular dishes are the following: Blackbean noodles (Jajangmyeon), Seafood soup noodles (Jjampong), and Sweet & Sour pork (Tangsuyuk) With that being said Chef Han has the best and I mean the BEST 짬뽕 (Jjampong) Seafood soup noodles in Katy/Houston (imo) Taste identical to the ones I had growing up in Busan. I've tried many restaurant's Jjampong in Houston including Korea's favorite Chef Paik's Noodle house and they're just not as good Chef Han. The Smokey rich broth and their noodles (Which I'm a 100% sure they make themselves) put them at the top of my list of being the best in town. Diet goes out the door when it comes to Chef Han

Don't try the orange chicken (or General Tso's) which is soggy

Convenient enough to order Korean-Chinese cuisine here in Katy. I tried ordering the kkanpunggi (spicy garlic chicken) w/ less spice but the cashier said they couldn't adjust the spice level to it. I ended up ordering orange chicken which is not spicy at all instead along w/ my mom ordering the house special lo mein and Mongolian beef. I liked most of the food we ordered except for the orange chicken which was pretty soggy. The lo mein is good and the Mongolian beef was definitely better than the orange chicken, so next time if I do order from here, the Mongolian beef will be it then.

Very solid ja jang noodles! Was craving this because one of my favorite YouTubers, Mikey Chen, kept raving and eating it in Korea. I loved the thickness of the sauce and the chewiness of the noodles. I do wish there were more pork bits though. Hahaha I'm such a fatty! I was also overly thirsty afterwards too for a few hours. Must be the msg because the noodles didn't taste salty.

I don't know if people who's been complaining have ever eaten Korean Chinese cuisine but some of these reviews are hilarious; we used to go to North China which was the only option to Korean Chinese cuisine near Katy and they are way more expensive and much smaller in portion. Chef Han's menu has been simple and cheap. We also got food from neighboring venues at the food court and they were more expensive. Although we don't understand the complaints but we had another nice lunch at Chef Hans. Keep up the good work!!

I do not eat food well at the food court because of quality BUT Chef Han is different. I love there food especially jjam pong. I eat jja jang myun instead of jjam pong BUT i love Chef Han jjam pong. It's yammy~ I go there 2-3 times a week to eat jjam pong. They have high quality of food that hard to have at the food court. They make noodle, dumpling not buying. One thing that i also like, Chef's attitude toward food. He made an effort, has pride, experienced. I go there a lot and most of there food is good.

I really liked their Ja Jang noodle. I did not have high hope before I ordered, but when I tried their sauce, I knew the Ja Jang noodle had to be good. Reason for four star is because, when you have noodle and sauce together on first bite, you might think they are like separate food. However, as you keep eating it, taste comes along with it. I will want to try their Ja Jamg rice later and other menu as well.

Can't go wrong with a decently priced jajangmyeun or jjampong. Taste is great and you don't have to go to a chinese/korean restaurant to get it.

From the moment…read moreyou step into the clean, large restaurant, you get greeted by the loveliest Korean ahjummas and are seated at a table next to a TV playing some K-Drama. The menu is big, but every item on it is executed so well. The flavors are comparable to that you'll get in Korea, with the side dishes few but perfect (the kimchi, jjangachi, and radish kimchi). My favorite is the gamjatang---there is so much meat, the potatoes are piping hot, and the soup is perfectly seasoned and rich. The pancakes and blood sausages are also delicious. I love coming here whenever I crave authentic Korean food: everything from the service to the meal itself is top-tier. The prices are also very very reasonable, especially lunch prices! Parking is plentiful and it's right off the freeway. You have to come here for the best Korean food in the area---I drive all the way from the Medical Center to come here, and it never disappoints!

Tasty Ko is located further South of I-10 in an assuming plaza. As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town. Good menu selection for those who either want KBBQ or a la carte classic Korean dishes!

Watch your step! Floor is very slippery so walk carefully…read more I'll lead with the punchline which is if you come here, just get the meats because that's where they shine. We ordered the Chef's Table which comes with 4 preselected meats (all beef). My favorites were the unmarinated and marinated kalbi. It's actually quite hard to find Korean BBQ places these days that don't strictly follow the AYCE model with lower quality cuts. These were very good cuts of meat. I could've probably done without the other two cuts. They were good cuts of meat, but the kalbi really stands out. This Chef's Table set comes with 2 sides, but you should know before going that banchan does NOT come along with the meal like many Korean restaurants you might be used to. So don't expect kimchi, salads, or even the lettuce wraps to come along with the meat. You can still order them of course, but will have to be included in your choice of 2 sides. We also ordered: - Seafood Pancake - pancake itself wasn't bad, but not extraordinary. The sauce for this was a bit of a let down. It also didn't arrive until the end of the meal which is unusual. But the service itself while friendly and kind was incomplete. We had to ask for a bunch of things that normally is just considered without mentioning and we didn't see our waiter visit that much after the food was delivered. - Ja Jang Myun - This was quite honestly the blandest set of noodles I've ever eaten at any restaurant. Both my wife and I have never had something taste like nothing. Which was too bad because the noodles themselves were cooked quite nicely. Not overly soft. Very disappointing. So back to the punchline, come here for the meat and skip the other stuff. I will say, they have a lot of different specials throughout the week so maybe those might be worth checking out before coming here because it is a bit pricy for what you get.
