Ok Katy, Texas what is going on??!! Let me just say a few quick initial words that come to mind... Wow! Hidden Gem! Unexpected! How have I missed this place for this many years. Throughout the time I sat in the restaurant I kept saying, "Am I really in Katy". I could have been in the downtown of any major city or any of the Houston districts like Upper Kirby or the Heights. It's so unassuming from the outside & then you walk in and 1st see the indoor patio seating & then you open the 2nd set of doors & you are hit with a dimly lit, lounge-like/chic-like restaurant. Food: Calamari - 9/10. Super tender. Seasoned. Served with capers & pickled onion on top. Garlic aoli & sweet Thai sauces on side. Both sauces were good but I give the edge to the aioli. Very decent portion size! Seafood stew - 8/10. This is a stew with rice & tons of seafood. It's a spoon, not fork dish. It's HUGE. I didn't even put a dent in it. It's served super hot. I mean 15 minutes after it had been on the table it was still piping hot! I can't believe how much I had left to take home. It was tasty, hearty, & plentiful! You have to see my picture of how much I took home!! Shrimp Bowl- 9/10. Very flavorful. I got it with lettuce, not rice. Maybe for $25 it may not seem like the best value, but flavor-wise, I did enjoy it. Drinks: - Katy's Finest - tasty mezcal & tequila drink. I felt like it had a hint of mint (which I don't prefer) but they assured me it did not. ‍ - New World Cosmo - deviations from a regular Cosmo are hibiscus & passion fruit added. It was a nice twist on the Cosmo & was more tart than sweet. Sidecar- their version deviates from classic by adding St Germaine. I asked for less sweet & it was an enjoyable cocktail. - Espresso Martini- just yummy! Nothing left to say. I've been twice now & will definitely add them to my local rotation. Servers are attentive. Staff is friendly. Bartender, Miguel, is skilled. Vibe is nice. Food is good. What else could you ask for? I highly recommend a visit! Tip: happy hour starts at 11am thru 5pm. Instantly becoming one of my favorite restaurants checking all my boxes pleasantly surprising me from the moment I walked in the door. The host was friendly and quickly responded by finding our reservation and getting us seated. Fusion Grill and Bar immediately gave me the vibe of a big city bistro with its decor and dimly lit dining room. The walls were covered with greenery and floral designs music filling the air but not too overpowering. Our server patiently answered questions and guided us through the very extensive menu. There was a plan to sample as much of the menu as our stomachs would hold. First, the cocktails before dinner were great and beautifully served. The bartenders are very talented with their creations filling a drink menu with something for everyone. My dining experience started with the calamari 5/5 which was plentiful, perfectly seasoned and tender. This absolutely killed my appetite before I could consider an entree but ordered a burger anyway. The burgers 5/5 are massive and a real challenge to consume after eating a starter. Parking was easy, and the host/server was friendly and helpful. The drinks were really good! The Oaxaca was refreshing with a little spice, and the passionfruit martini was fruity and flavorful. The loaded brisket fries were easily the best thing we ordered--huge portion and full of flavor. The red chili Brussels sprouts were also delicious! Unfortunately, the food was hit or miss. The mango habanero chicken had good flavor, but the mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes and seemed undercooked. The spinach chicken was a huge portion but needed more seasoning. A little salt and pepper would've gone a long way. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'd come back and try something else, but for me, it was a 7/10. Well for starters you need a reservation to get the good seats. We did not have one , so we ended up with a table on the addition that they added on the front of house. We ordered from a great menu selection but the food came out one plate at time, so not ok. Our group ate at staggered times. It was a shame because the food was good. No complaints on that part. I absolutely love this place. I always stop here when I leave Houston for the drive back to Austin. It's so dimly lit and cozy feeling. I ordered the Parmesan fries and for the entree I get a delicious shrimp bowl! The shrimp was crispy and full of flavor. The parm fries as usual were so good! I ordered the Coconut Seafood Stew, and it was incredible, rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It easily ranks among my top 20 favorite dishes I've ever had. The only thing that didn't quite match the experience was the interior. The atmosphere feels more like a nightclub than a restaurant serving such elevated cuisine. A more upscale, modern design would better complement the quality of the food and create an even more memorable dining experience. The drink menu was beautifully designed and I love the vibrancy of the images. I had the French 75 and my son had the Expresso Martini both delicious. Andrea is the worst server to have, she consistently ignored my wife when she was ready to order and needed a refill for water she had to follow her in the doors to get her attention, then when the bill comes she said that the bill came too included when she doesn't even deserve it then she was incompetent and over charged me a extra burger.. when i went over with her making sure she everything that was mine is on the tab.. the worst part is that the food was good service was terrible. I have not studied how long this restaurant has been around however, I must tell you I missed an absolutely wonderful experience, caught up yesterday, and it was well worth it from every single aspect. The ambience is wonderful a bit close together. I will be honest, but it adds to the intimacy. I would not call it romantic but I would call it extremely social and a pleasant, pleasant experience. Next is the service and Isabella was our server and she was spectacular. Very patient providing explanations of things, providing an opinion when asked hustling and simply being a pleasure to deal with. I really can't say enough good however I will tell you that this is what you belong for when you pay for food and drink at a restaurant. Next, of course, was the food and drink. Let me just go to the bar which was absolutely perfectly executed. I had old fashions with bullet rye, and I had a pistachio Carajillo for dessert. Every drink was perfect. Then there was the food, which in my case was an Asadero burger, which Isabella described as spicy and she was correct but what a wonderful wonderful hamburger. We didn't go specifically for hamburgers however, that is what I ended up with and I'm very pleased. It makes me know that I will return for other entrées. On top of that I had truffle Parmesan fries, which were spectacular. As I say, I don't know how long this restaurant has been around, but as crowded as it was, I can only hope that it will remain for very very long. Wife and I tried Fusion for the first time Friday evening. We sat at the bar and we had to amazing bar tenders as severs. They were great and made the experience even better than expected. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked and the flavor of each dish was perfect. You have to try the spinach artichoke dip. Nice the jam on top into the dip real good. Today, we were looking for a burger place to celebrate two birthdays & decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! This place is totally underrated and you can't really see how truly awesome this small restaurant is from the street. The ambiance is really cool as soon as you go in. The staff are very friendly, the menu is pretty outstanding, including the drinks menu and the food.. the food is TOP 10! Totally underrated. We ordered a lot of food. The ribeye, the chips & queso, the coconut seafood casserole, the creole seafood platter, the Goat burger, the kids cheeseburger & the molten cake. All tasted fantastic! The place was packed on a Sunday and there were large family groups, couples & even singles just eating at the bar. Totally suitable for all party sizes but I would highly recommend it for dates. The food was overall very good. Visited w a few girlfriends last weekend and it was packed on a sat night. The crowd was a mix of all ages and groups, including families with kids. We were seated right next to the dj table but it was actually fine. I'm sensitive to loud places and I could tolerate it. We tried a few burgers and their signature bowl. The burgers are huge but don't come w sides. The steak in the signature bowl is delicious! Well spiced. We tried the biscoff cookie for dessert and this was too sweet for us but can see how it's a favorite for others. Service was overall great. Why 5 stars? Because my burger was hot fire emoji on a bun. --- --- --- After taking my nephew and son out to Katy for some fun, I needed to find a lunch spot that was at least semi kid friendly. I came across Fusion Grill and was sold pretty quickly based on the reviews and the fact that they had burgers, fries, etc. Before I get to the food, I was really impressed with the look and vibe of the place. They really made you feel like you were in a trendy urban setting, and not Houston suburbia. There was a lot of green on the walls, but in a classy way - it wasn't overwhelming, or anything. I also appreciated that the menu was pretty vast - you kind of felt like you were at a higher end establishment, but again, they had burgers, fries and wings on the menu. They just do all of these things in an elevated fashion and seem to be kind of trailblazing, rather than following the lead of other places. As for the food.... We started off with some chips and queso. This queso was a bit of a higher quality than most with a bit more thickness to it. It had almost a grits-like consistency, which was enjoyable. I heavily debated what to order myself, and ultimately just settled on the Mr. Fusion Burger. I felt like it was going to go one of two ways - I would love it or have severe regret about passing on the lomo saltado. I'm here to say: absolutely no regrets - I loved this burger. It was also m-a-s-s-i-v-e, by the way. After enjoying this for lunch, I definitely did not need to eat dinner. But every bite was heaven, so don't make the same mistake I did and fret over the rest of the menu. Just order this burger and thank me later. We also ordered some parmesan truffle fries to share and they were very, very truffley. To be honest, I'd probably opt for a different type of fry next time, but it's not because I didn't enjoy these - it's just that heavy truffle is best enjoyed in a smaller portion. I was referred to Fusion by one of my friends. My wife suggested to stop when we passed last night. After parking, it seemed like there would be a short wait but we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered two sangrias, which were very good spinach dip, which was also very good and lastly, I had Mac & cheese which was excellent. Service was great and there was upbeat music playing somewhat loud but still we were able to have a conversation. They also have a small patio when you enter the front door area.
