This was truly a wonderful experience. We went for brunch and not only was the food service and ambience. Excellent it was equally fun. Firstly, it's a very, very busy place. I would recommend if dining at peak periods that you make reservations. To the best of my recollection, I did so through OpenTable. True to their word when we walked in, they seated us at our prearrange time. The ambience I have already addressed. It is Lovely. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, we did not in any way feel confined. The service was by a young gentleman who had just started his service experience. I do not recollect his name, but he was one of the more courteous servers that I have had, and I was very, very pleased by how seriously he took the job of making sure his customers were well served understood what they were ordering and was very timely. The food is wonderful. I had brunch food, although I have heard that every meal is quite good and I can believe that. I will tell you I would highly recommend this dining experience. We have been to a few different Northfield italia locations but this one had the worst food. Many of the pasta dishes were undercooked and I am pretty sure I got food poisoning from the mussels there. We were looking forward to having this restaurant closer by but it's unfortunate that the food does not live up to the other locations. The food was also pretty slow to come out. read more

This place is relatively new in the La Centerra shopping center of Katy. I have visited twice for lunch and feel that they still need to get more settled into their operations. The service on the first visit was so incredibly slow. It took a good 15-20 minutes to get our drinks of water, beer and wine (not even cocktails that require a bartender to make, just pouring into glasses). And the food probably came out around 30-40 minutes after ordering. Lunch specialties: spicy italian grinder - delicious, tons of flavors, slightly spicy italian short rib dip - very messy, impossible to dip in the au jus roasted salmon (also in dinner menu) - crispy, fresh and light (the salmon was a bit overcooked for my preference but they never asked me how I liked it) The Chicken Pesto pasta was tasty but what I found interesting is that when I daughter order it, the waitress said that she'd have to check to confirm if their shipment of pesto had arrived. For an Italian restaurant, I would expect that they make their own pesto in house. The yellowtail crudo appetizer was a very light dish, which was perfect for my father in law who was looking to have a small meal. The prices are probably on par with the surrounding area. Portion sizes are more than adequate. The appetizers are OK to share between 2 people, but not really large enough to share for a full table of 3-4 people. read more

This review is specifically for logistics and customer service. I placed a to-go order on a busy night and arrived at the resturant shortly after the 45 minute estimated time needed to prep the order. When I parked in the to go spot I immediately called the number listed on the sign and was told my order would be out when ready. 30 minutes later I was still waiting!!! Called again but this time transferred to another line where I was notified that the same entree I had been waiting for was still not ready. While the team was apologetic, I was assured that the chef needed only 5 more minutes. At this time I was asked if I would like a beverage while I waited. Huh?!? I have waited over 30 additional minutes, and it's a situation you are notifying management about yet all you guys can offer me is a drink!? I do believe a more senior staff member should have adressed me. A comped meal, a couple future appetizers on the house, or the actual presence of management would have shown the team actually cared. Hopefully this review leads them to look at the process for their curbside orders. read more

First time to North Italia, service was good not a long wait for two got sat in 15mins. The place was packed so surprised we didn't have to wait longer. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer the Focaccia Bread with whipped ricotta it was great! We did have to wait quite awhile for drinks I ordered a wine and my husband ordered an old fashion we got our appetizer before our drinks. We ordered entrees of Chicken Parmesan and my husband ordered the Roasted Salmon. My husband did order another drink during his dinner and it came after the dessert which we had Tiramisu and it was good. Overall our waitress was great, food was good, but the drinks were slow to get to the table, in the end we had a good night. Thank you! read more

Walked in to bar area and was told bar was first come so we sat at a table in bar and didn't know it was reserved .. the boy at the front came over and said dramatically "you can't sit here cause we have a list !!"and was quite abrupt .. we said oh sorry and tried to move to bar but was told no we had to leave cause they were mad at us at the front desk! After reading several very positive and very negative reviews, my finance Kathy and I decided to try them on a holiday weekend (small crowd potential) at lunch. Could not be more impressed. Our waitress Monica besides being very attractive she was attentive to our needs. I had the lentil soup which beats Carabba's (pretty much my standard) as the flavors tasted fresh. She had the Short rib on lamache pasta (sort of a big macaroni) and I had the meatball appetizer. Wine was great. Only distractions were: 1. They need a system that tells the server who ordered what. Always had it backwards, 2. I think that they would raise their game a bit if they had more of an upscale attire for wait staff. I am ok with the blue jeans but make better more contemporary tops the norm and 3. Turn down the music, we struggled to hear Monica. We will return and recommend that you try them. read more

Our wait was a little over 45 minutes, even though we were initially told it would be about 25 minutes. However, we're not complaining they just opened, and it's clear the restaurant is already very popular. The food was amazing, just as we've come to expect from North Italia. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well worth the wait. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff worked hard despite the busy crowd. We will definitely be back and look forward to visiting again once they've had a little more time to settle into their new location! read more

I had big expectations and was very let down. Upon arriving I was met by three young ladies and promptly seated, being it was a Wednesday night around 9pm(they close at 10pm) I was surprised at full it was. I had three small requests. Do not seat me in the bar, by the restroom or by the kitchen. They sat me right in front of the entrance to the kitchen in front of the server station. The facility is pretty noisy but the server station and the kitchen traffic was horrible. My wait after being sat was pretty lengthy before a server passed and said I'll be with you shortly, apparently her idea of shortly must be much longer than my shortly as it was another 10 minutes or so before a menu showed up. After looking over the menu, there were few if any items under $25 that sounded even worth trying. I asked specifically about three dishes, she informed two of my three were pretty much hype where the crab and shrimp were concerned, so I went with the traditional "Sunday Night Lasagne". I asked if bread was included with the meal and she informed me bread was additional and could be added to the meal for a charged (she didn't charge me not sure if it was an oversight or her way of saying sorry for the long wait). The food showed up relatively quickly, presentation was disappointing at best(see for yourself in the pictures). I ordered a Sangria which was supposed to have Brandy, what showed up was more like a glass(they take the wine glass away and give you a thin water glass full of ice with an orange wedge and maybe 3 or 4 drinks before the glass is empty. The lasagne was warm not hot, and I had to wait on the butter for my bread after asking for it twice. The taste was very close to an individual stouffers lasagne from the frozen section at HEB, but less lasagne. I asked the family at the next table how the pizzas were as they had two entrees and two pizzas. The dad said so so nothing great for the price they're charging me. Thank goodness as I almost ordered a pizza. The ambiance is the best part of the restaurant, It seems to be very trendy but definitely not a place if you're looking for affordability or a good meal. They do not offer a military discount. In a good note everyone seemed friendly. read more

Hello the survey is not working for North Italia. We went to the Katy location and was seated without any acknowledgement from a server for 15 min. Our server actually started taking orders for a table which was sat right next to our table, 15min after us. We didn't even get water until we asked if she was our server. The host need to let these waiters know they have tables sat in their sections We ordered the Cavatelli and the Lumache, the Cavatelli was so salty it was not edible and the Lumache had absolutely no seasoning. We couldn't eat much and told our server these comments and they didn't even tell the kitchen or offer to bring a manager over. I tried to submit the survey on their website and it is unsurprisingly broken and I was not able to submit the survey using the number on my receipt. I instead also put in feedback with corporate. We visit multiple locations and North Italia is one of our favorites, but honestly this was a big disappointment. read more

Enjoyed dinner here on a Sunday evening on their outside patio area. The noise level was a little lighter out here than inside, while the ceiling fans and natural breeze kept it comfortable. This is a delightful replacement for the old Baker Street Pub that used to be in this location. A solid investment in this location is plainly visible to patrons. Really quite nice, clean, fresh and very new - June 202. Food and service is excellent, with a very balanced menu that offers good choice without overwhelming you. We felt like that we had eaten at the restaurant before many times which we hadn't and she made us feel like we were part of the family. We enjoyed this restaurant's City Centre location and were excited to try the new one. Despite reservations for six, we waited 35 minutes to be seated and were split between two booths. This was disappointing since we were hoping to enjoy a family dinner together, but we decided to make the best of it and move forward with ordering. Portions seemed smaller, and my grandmother's lentil soup arrived late, cold, and salty. Overall, the experience was disappointing due to the wait, seating, and food issues. The restaurant removed one appetizer from our bill, which we appreciated. We understand they recently opened and may still be working through some growing pains. We hope they can improve these areas because we'd love to give them another chance and return in the future. Until then, we'll probably make the extra drive to the City Centre location. read more

This is the best Italian food i have had here in Houston. The Chicken Pesto pasta was amazing and it tasted so fresh and light. The Salads were all very fresh and flavorful. We also tried the Margherita pizza which was so light and delicious. They also have the best foccacia bread i have ever had in my life. It was so light and fluffy while having a really tasty crust. It was so good we ordered 2 more. I have been to Italy and I have to say this is as close to true Italian food you will find here in the US. The ambiance and the vibe was really cool as well at this location. We will definitely be coming back again. We have been to the location downtown and was really good so we thought we would try the new Katy location at La Centerra. We shared the seasonal vegetable salad. The vegetables were fresh and good but a little bit of bad lettuce and the dressing was a bit tart. I would definitely try it again with a different dressing. I had the Ricotta Cavatelli. The flavor was wonderful and had lots of crab and the shrimp was cooked perfect. I was a little disappointed because I was told I would see the ricotta sitting in the pasta shells and I didn't. It came out swimming in olive oil. I will definitely try something else next time. My husband had the lasagna and really enjoyed it. We shared the tiramisu and it was delicious.
