Was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this restaurant. It's got a nice vibe with dimmed lighting. The bread they give you is delish. They've got a bowl of butter at the table so it already softened for the bread. Our server was great, answering all of our first time questions. The chicken piccatta was alright. This was our first time to visit the Adriatic Cafe and the service was fantastic Dior was our server and he was phenomenal. Thoughtful, courteous, attentive and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more from our server. I ordered pasta and Italian sausage and the sauce was so watery that it wouldn't even stick to the pasta and it had a nonexistent flavor profile. The sausage didn't exhibit any Italian flavor either. The bread was oily and undercooked, making it bearly enjoyable. The restaurant was clean and had an appropriate amount of noise for a dinner crowd, however, when tables were put together for our party, I ended up sitting part way out in the main walking aisle, which was disruptive for me and people trying to get by. read more

I have been coming here for over 3 years and during Mother's Day weekend I had a very bad experience. We placed an order ahead of time the day before and we get there the next day by 1pm to pick up order and the gentleman helping us tells us that it will be a bit of a wait. That wait became, 15 min then increased to additional 15 min and then he came to tell us that our order was lost in the kitchen. We waited for over an hour and the manager that came out to tell us was never honest about it. Instead he got an attitude that they have a back flow of orders and that I need to be patient. They have pretty good lunch menu. But man, their garlic knots were the HIGHLIGHT!!! I ate 3 before my calzone came out. And honestly after the garlic knots, the calzone was underwhelming. Good location, next to Buc-ee's, ample place, good ambiance, terrific menu with all your favorite Italian dishes plus their unique twist, and the service is top notch. My Caesar was some wilted romaine out of a bag, bagged parmesan, some croutons and NO dressing. Their solution to the issue was for me to drive 20 minutes each way to get salad dressing, they told me they could not refund me or do anything else to fix their issue. $10 down the drain and into the trash. Wow, second attempt here. Look, if you want real authentic Italian food then this is it by far and I've traveled the world. This place is 10 stars, 20 stars. Everything made with love of their food and simply way over the top. The chicken Alfredo was so amazing with a beautiful creamy Alfredo sauce as if the cow made it itself with love for its calf. The lasagna, oh my, such a treat compared to the regular American lasagna, this is legit and you will think you are actually in Italy after first bite so make sure you have someone with you to remind you are still here. The garlic buns are incredible that come with your meal, not garlic bread or toast like here but soft buttery garlicy buns that are such an amazing side. This place is a gem in Katy. Ok so tonight was definitely the last nail in the coffin. First and foremost Houston does not have a large Italian community like other places in the northeast or Midwest so our good Italian food is basically a fusion so it's easy to get away with mid Italian food like whatever Sysco, Martin, Ben E. Keith, etc food distributors have to offer. So everything served here is basically frozen. Garlic knot bread comes frozen, the ravioli I ate tonight were definitely frozen, my wife's dish the Alex Special definitely had frozen chicken you can tell by the flavor and consistency it was rubbery. Now what I do like are the margaritas, they serve them strong, so good. read more

Nice staple meals, but thay bread is a great intro. The selection is ample and there is a gluten free option as well. In the handful of times eating there, it feels like a comfortable place to have a family meal. The service is consistent and once in a while you may find that outstanding character the elevates everything. Overall though, the service is typically above average. Even during busy times, the meals come out at a good pace. That certainly helps to keep you from overload on bread. The staff is quite aware of their surroundings and they support one another. Not sure how often I will be back there, but i am certain there will be several more stops. read more

Update: it's been about a year since I ate here. And I remember thinking it was really good, and we even got it to go one time and I think the bread is amazing. It's unique. But this last time we went on kids eat free day and when he brought me my ticket, the kids meal price was still on there. So I told him and asked for some bread to go, and he took the ticket away, but he came back and the price of kids meal was still on there. Like he hadn't changed it at all. But also, did not get my salad with my beef lasagna which is didn't realize until looking at menu later, it was supposed to be included. Just overall, not impressed with this trip. We moved to the area last year and had been trying out different places . Read all the good reviews so we decided to give this a go- very surprised but in a not good way. Pluses- It's an independent structure along side of freeway so it's relatively easy access with plenty of parking. We got seated right away during dinner rush and our wait staff was very attentive. The decor is very typical of like a casual dining place but doesn't feel crowded. Negatives- I am not sure how anyone can say that this is the best Italian food they have ever had. Maybe we went on an off day,however, we did not enjoy the food. We had calamari and fried mozzarella as appetizers, which I thought was pretty standard. However, the calamari tasted a bit like freezer burn and was very hard, not like a true tender crunch. We also had a kid meatball spaghetti, and 2 other pasta dish- they are decent portions and we took a lot home but they all tasted the same in the sense they you can taste clearly the tomato sauce ( duh) but don't have a lot of other flavors. Unfortunately, the verdict from us is that we would rather visit a chain like Carrabba's. Again, it can very well be what we prefer. read more

Got our drinks quickly and we were checked on consistently to see if we were ready to order. We ordered a garlic bread as an appetizer and I thought it was fantastic. For myself I ordered the penne alla vodka. It's not the best I've ever tried, simply put it lacked a bit in flavor. It's not unique enough for me to bring up if I were to think of vodka pasta that I've loved. It was yummy though, and seeing as the portions are huge I had plenty to take home for a late night dinner. I'd be willing to come back and try more of their menu though (they do have LOTS of options) since our friends have gone to this place atleast a few times and enjoy it. The grilled chicken I added to my pasta was very yummy though! All 4 of us did enjoy our meal. Waitress was really nice, checked on us every now and then. I've been here a few times and have really enjoyed the food. The pizza and calzone are my go-tos. My family had the Italian sub, chicken parmesan sub, and the lasagna. My son said the marinara taste was too much for the lasagna but the subs were good. The Italian margarita is a must have. Our server Yashar was great. Waitress disappeared, so I took it to the kitchen. Waitress came and said another server took mine. Manager shrugged and said people make mistakes. Three were made: 1 server took the wrong dish, 2d server brought the wrong dish, 3-the manager's vocabulary doesn't include the words, "I'm sorry." I owe Adriatic Cafe an apology. After flying and traveling from the East Coast all day, I was finally home. I was hungry. I ordered DoorDash from Adriatic Cafe'. Apparently, I did not read the menu closely. I was expecting just Marinara with Mushrooms but received got a meat-laden spaghetti, complete with meat sauce, a huge meatball, and sausage...and mushrooms. I was really disappointed. (Doh! The dish I ordered was called Spaghetti The Works!?!?) I will say -- once I picked out the sausage and the meatball -- I enjoyed the spaghetti. By the way, their garlic twist bread and the perfectly crafted Cannoli are heavenly! I probably will order again. This time I'll pay a little closer attention to the menu descriptions.
