Finally made it to their new location. Very nice upgrade. The menu is much larger now. We tried the Detroit dog and it was just the hot dog fix we needed.

Food was amazing! we will 100% be back!

Saw Pappa Gyros on the Texas Bucket list and had to give it a try. I got the lamb gyro combo and it was huge. Fresh ingredients and great service so I will definitely return

I've been here twice so far The first time we ordered out, got the gyro plate with lamb. Everything was great. The pita bread was fresh. The meat was moist. The rice was fresh and cooked perfect. 10/10 However, my second time here was a dine in and was not the best . I ordered the same thing...gyro plate with lamb. The lamb was cooked good however the rice was extremely stale and tasted old as goes with the pita bread. I was very disappointed this time. 5/10 My son got the Philly cheesesteak gyro he said it was bland. 6/10 The Taziki sauce was also very bland 4/10

Haven't been here in a while and came in since I was craving some basic American food. This is a Greek-owned northern style diner that serves both American classics and Greek options such as gyros, Greek salad, and more. Order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. We got a burger, hot dogs, and the loaded Philly cheesesteak fries. Everything was great and fresh. Not oily at all. The burger was my favorite. It has this unique texture that is hard to describe but it's really great for $8.99. You can get it for cheaper during their happy hour. The fries were really good, nice texture being crispy and fluffy on the inside. The hot dog was good but something about the chili was putting me off and I'm not sure what. Maybe a spice like nutmeg or something which I particularly hate in my savory food. There was also an insane amount of mustard that it was pouring off with each bite. I'd try another hot dog in the future but I really recommend the burger, fries, and their gyros. They serve off brand sodas. The interior is nicely decorated and very clean. Wish they would be open late some days for that true diner experience. Would also be nice to put in some booths. Check it out sometime!

SO MANY THINGS TO CHOOSE FROM!!! I've passed this place a couple times now and while I was in the area today I decided to finally try it out. First off, it smells delicious in here. There so many things to choose from and everything sounds good. I ordered the original papa gyro and the Philly gyro. Both were SO GOOD. I'm already looking forward to coming back here.

While visiting Houston on a solo business trip, I knew I had to take advantage of the freedom to pick my own meals and see what kind of hidden gems I could find. I first looked at the most recent Yelp 100 to see if anything was reasonably close to my hotel in Katy, and lucky me, Pappa Gyros wasn't too far away! The old school dinner aesthetic was welcoming and cozy. The laminated menu had so many items, front and back, that sounded delicious! I couldn't choose, so I asked the gal at the cash register what a popular chose is for someone who has never been. She recommended Taki's Combo Plate which had a little bit of everything--lamb, souvlaki, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), pilaf, and I chose to substitute fries rather than a salad. The food was so good--extremely authentic! Souvlaki is one of my favorite foods, and Pappa Gyro did not disappoint. The flavor and char was just right. I ended up eating nearly everything on my plate! I was also impressed their Koulourakia (Greek Easter Cookies). They were nearly as good as my mom's! Pappa Gyros is definitely worth going out of your way for a bite to eat! I am so glad I drove a little extra to be able to enjoy during my most recent trip to Katy. The food was stellar. The aesthetic was comfortable, and the service was welcoming. I'll be back--I'm sure!

    Onion Rings are the best!

We are midwesterners who are always looking for midwestern food, so when we saw Katy had some, we thought we would try it. The first impression was that it was very clean! The staff was very nice and friendly. They explained everything to us. We ordered some food to eat now and an order to go. They also had Hershey ice cream, which is my husband's favorite so I knew we would be getting dessert as well. I tried the strawberry cheesecake and it was really good! We ordered a combo (sausage and Italian beef) and a Chicago hotdog to go. We ordered a regular gyro, Italian beef (dipped), onion rings, and fries. I have to admit the onion rings stole the show! They were thick and crispy! The fries were good as well. The gyro had good flavor and the Italian beef was ok as well. Not what we were used to eating but good. If you want to try some Midwest food, give it a try!

Hello we are on our annual company vacation, every year around the 4th of July we take a week off so our staff can relax with their loved ones. We’ll be back on Monday have a great weekend.

Is the gyro meat lamb, beef or a mixture or both?

I believe it is both. But, you should also know that they season and make their own gyro meat. They do not buy it from a supplier.

Took an Italian Beef to go.... Need to reheat it or go town at room temperature? I'm sure it's all preference but is it best enjoyed hot /warm?

How long did you wait to eat it? While we live 15 minutes away or so, the sandwich is double wrapped in foil, put in a paper sack, and then put in a plastic sack along with the fries. The sandwich is plenty warm/hot and ready to go when we get home,… Read more

Are there any gluten free options?

I don't think they have gluten free entrées as such. Although they can definitely make a fresh greek salad 🥗 with their delicious gyro or other meats. Best wishes.

    Is this place halal?

Yes the gyro meat is halal. Although the owner has said there is cross contamination. So you can try as per your own discretion.

Having ordered them once (to go) from this location as well as in-house at the Town & Country location, where they were very good both times, somebody was just a little off their game today. This restaurant definitely aims to please. I was being very specific about what I wanted for my ribeye steak tonight; waitress Jessie was awesome and listened carefully to my requests. And then to make sure that I was absolutely happy, she brought Chef Kenneth to the table to discuss what I was looking for. Kenneth returned from the kitchen with three beautiful-looking ribeye steaks and we discussed which one would give me the best dining experience. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. Overall, this was a really great dining experience and I'm so glad that bad traffic gave me the excuse to come here. Will definitely plan a return visit!!

While we completely understand wanting to protect expensive furniture, the tone and delivery came across as rude and made our entire table feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. On the other hand, I want to recognize our waiter, who was excellent throughout the meal. Raymond was attentive, friendly, and did his best to make us feel comfortable again after the interaction with the manager. His professionalism and kindness were the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, the food also fell short of expectations. In particular, I would not recommend the mussels. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. Unfortunately, the manager's approach, combined with the disappointing food, overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

I had been watching this one being built for a while and was especially curious to try it since this location has a full bar, which adds a really fun twist to the traditional coffee shop concept. I stopped in for lunch and decided to sit out on the patio which ended up being the perfect choice. The atmosphere was relaxed, bright, and inviting with a nice open feel that makes it easy to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. The cashier asked the manager and she was willing to accommodate me. That was nice of her because she could have said no. My order consisted of a tenders basket (Nashville HOt) and large kale salad. It arrived via door dash excellent delivery and kind driver. I opened my food and the SPICY SMELL was literally unbearable. I then started thinking maybe I am being sensitive. I cut a piece and tried to eat it and almost choked from the pepper. REMEMBER I am originally from NOLA so SPICY Is my forte. I immediately called the store and was asked if I wanted to come in or get a refund. I requested a refund than the cashier says " I don't know if we can do that so let me check. I waited a few minutes, then I continued to wait , then I hear staff laughing in background, then someone says "ISN'T THAT WHAT SHE ORDERED" at this moment I became frustrated. I had been busy all morning and needed to sleep for work that night. I headed to the store and you would not believe once I arrived at the store, the cashier was helping customers, and the PHONE WAS OFF THE HOOK by an unoccupied cash register. I immediately requested the manager in a calm tone. The manager VERENICE arrived at the front counter and greeted me. I was so furious so the first thing I did was show her my phone and the phone off of the hook. I was on HOLD for 24 minutes see picture below. She proceeded to apologize and attempted to explain they the call was missed. I further explained that DOOR DASH prices are higher so offering a person to come in the store is not the bet alternative. I ordered DOOR DASH for a reason and it is a huge inconvenience when I have to arrive in store to correct a worker's mistake. SHe understood exactly how I felt and offered a solution. I also requested for her to smell how hot it was as well. She proceeded to tell me they are using a new seasoning and she believes the person put too much. My rebuttal was you have to be more careful in preparing food like that for a customer knowing there is a difference. I know you may be confused at why would I still give them 4 stars because as the MANAGER she listened to constructive criticism, offered a solution and made sure I was satisfied. I believe it is very important as a REVIEWER to be honest and fair while also telling the truth along with offering a the solution. Whomever is the owner of this franchise I am sure you may be disappointed with the "24 minute hold time" but you should be more proud of having a manager in place who does damage control and encourages the customer to return for a better experience as well as fix the food again.

The waitress explained that prices have been fluctuating, but it did feel a little unpolished and confusing seeing gouged-out pricing on multiple items. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla, and my wife got the South of the Border omelet. We also had the roasted potatoes, which ended up being a very small portion. My main issue was that several items listed (or expected) didn't come as described. The quesadilla was supposed to come with sour cream and pico, but they weren't served on the side. We were told the pico was inside the quesadilla, which wasn't noted on the menu. Additionally, both dishes had raw, unsautéed onions mixed into the scrambled eggs. That wasn't listed in the description, and I personally don't like raw onions, so it definitely affected the meal for me. I think ingredients like that should be clearly stated. The cheese sauce tasted like standard heated nacho cheese and was very runny, not what we expected from a breakfast dish. The sour cream also tasted off. Friendly atmosphere and service! Great for both dates AND family (as seemingly only Greek and Italian places do best). Of course I can't go to a Greek restaurant and not start with appetizers. Their feta and olives are fantastic! For a main, try their lamb shank-- super tender and flavorful.

When the entree arrived I thought the lamb shank looked small. Taste wise it was good but I have had better. Also the potatoes were as advertised however their appearance and taste to me was average. If I ordered this meal again I would order another side dish perhaps the rice. This meal was a 3.5. Another visit was for dinner was to try the Kokkinisto entree for $21. Again this meal comes with the same enjoyable side salad with bread and I chose the Briami as the supplied side dish. The Kokkinisto (Greek beef stew) arrived on a bed of rice and covered in its herbed tomato sauce with garlic and onions. The Briami was in a separate bowl of stewed veggies in a light tomato sauce. I liked this meal better. The stew had good flavor with tender beef and a tasty red sauce. Also the veggies were good tasting too. I gave this meal a 4. Finally the waitress was very friendly. I believe her name was Jennifer? I like this restaurant and believe they serve good tasting and authentic Greek food.
