Came to Da Silva's for an anniversary dinner. Due to our work schedules, we typically eat dinner around 3-4pm. Our reservation was for 3:30 and the place only had a few patrons. It looks very nice upon walking in - low lights to set the mood. When we were seated, our server initially seemed to be overwhelmingly attentive. Standing there as we looked over the menu for the first time. A little awkward half way through our meal, her shift was over and we were introduced to a male server. He came to our table once maybe twice and had us waiting to get a beverage. I was planning on getting dessert but the change in service changed my mind. I surprised my fiancé for our anniversary dinner at this place since she had mentioned it a while back. Upon arrival I was just stared at with no initial welcome. It was a bit awkward to say the least. Once we got sat down, our initial service was great. She explained the menu and advised on some things to try. The food itself was pretty good but the prices for appetizers that looked pretty small were a little too much. After our food was brought out, she introduced another server since her shift was ending and at this point there was no checking back to our table to see if we needed anything. No drink refills were taken into consideration. It wasn't until the very end when we were all done with our meals that they asked if we'd like any dessert. Wow! I was genuinely surprised by how nice this restaurant was, considering the location. The inside is so nice! Beautiful wooden tables and colorful. I saw a stage setup, assuming they probably have live music on weekends? We came during lunchtime to celebrate my sister's birthday. It was busy but not too crazy. I will say, the service was pretty slow for the number of people in the restaurant. It took us a while to place an order for drinks and appetizers. I will break down everything we ordered -Pork Rinds: Very crispy, its tasty buy the portion size is a bit small for an app in my opinion -Calamari Rings: They were good, loved the dipping sauce that it came with - Beef Espetada: They bring out the beef on a big metal skewer. Once tableside, they spread garlic butter on the meat, remove it from the skewer, and serve it on a plate. This cut of meat was really tasty. It was my fav of the dishes I tried -12 oz New York Strip with fries and mashed potatoes: The steak is drizzled with chimichurri and a creamy white sauce. It's a good steak, really thick, so take that into consideration -12 oz New York Da Silva with asparagus and plantains: This steak is SMOTHERED in cheese. It was good, but its A LOT of cheese. The asparagus was yummy, I loved the taste of the sauce it was cooked in -Caesar Salad with Crispy Chicken: The salad was very fresh, very green. The crispy chicken is their chicken tenders, cut up. The salad and chicken were really good, but there was barely any dressing, and the way the lettuce was cut up made it very hard to eat with a fork. I would need to scoop my lettuce because the for wasn't picking it up. Definitely ask for extra dressing; they only drizzle the dressing on top of the salad -Homemade Quesillo: This is like a flan/cheesecake dessert. Textured like custard. This dessert was yummy -Da Silva Brownie: Nice and warm, solid brownie Carajillo: ¡BOMB! I love a good carajillo. I love how they added coffee beans to the ice, which makes the drink look so pretty Overall, I would recommend this place. I would recommend getting a reservation depending on the time of day. This shopping center gets busy in the evenings and on weekends. I have two complaints, however 1. Service was really slow. Even getting the bill took about 15 min after we finished eating 2. The charge for the birthday brownie, I would have thought the dessert would be free. read more

Not quite there ... Service and atmosphere: The restaurant looks very nice inside. Dark, modern decor with great layout and overall design. We had high expectations because of that. Service was okay. Our server was forgetful and we had to ask for what was ordered but not delivered. He was apologetic which was polite of him. Food and drinks: Menu items looked good on paper. Execution and taste wasn't there. The side beans came burnt and we had to replace it with other side. New York strip steak was cooked as requested but the texture of the meat wasn't good. $33 price point for the steak was too much given the quality and pricing from other restaurants around. Elegimos este restaurante para celebrar nuestro cumpleaños porque el lugar es precioso y la comida DELICIOSA. Y aunque fuimos varias veces con anticipación a consultar y todo fue aprobado, el día del evento el trato fue inaceptable. (Ventaja de que el mal trato y "show" en el momento fue para nosotras como cumpleañeras porque colocamos la hora de llegada de los invitados 30m después). No solo fue incómodo para nosotros, sino también para nuestros invitados, algunos de los cuales incluso viajaron para estar allí y fueron tratados de muy mal gusto, como si el personal estuviera obligado a atendernos o como si de hecho nos estuvieran regalando un servicio. Lo más contradictorio fue que a mí me trató medio bien el mesonero, aparentemente porque pensaba que celebraba sola (cuando en realidad somos gemelas y celebrábamos dos). Además, el personal se mostró molesto por preguntas normales, como consultar las opciones de sopas, (como si cualquier cliente no tuviera dudas entre opciones, sea una persona o 20), e incluso fue un tiempo después para la mesa a decirme "no podemos seguir esperando para ordenar la comida" cuando lit estábamos sentados esperando (y procesando el shock del mal rato que pasamos al llegar al restaurante), es evidente que mi cabeza estaba en otro lugar por lo sucedido, lo cual generó un ambiente tenso y incómodo para todos. Btw el centro de mesa era ALTO, más no grande en la parte de abajo y mucho menos ocupaba todo el espacio a la mesa, haciendo referencia a lo que nos dijo la chica en (pueden traer mejor centros de mesa, que si en algún momento se deben mover podamos hacerlo, lo cual fue muy entendible), unas "flores" pequeñas en la mesa iban a tener exactamente el mismo tamaño que las flores que dijeron después que hubiéramos podido llevar. Fue decepcionante guys. Un lugar tan lindo y con tan buena comida debería cuidar mucho más la coherencia, EL RESPETO y la calidad del servicio hacia todos sus clientes. Tienen un lugar con mucho potencial, y es muy lamentable todo. Tried this place twice now and ordered the same thing. Overpriced $82 ribeye. First time it was a 5-star experience and savored every bite of this rare steak. We also order rice, black beans, broccoli and asparagus. First time everything was absolutely amazing. Tried this place again with the same order and the steak was flavorless, not worth the $82. Broccoli was cold and lacked flavor, asparagus was hard and not cooked enough. Black beans were tasty and white rice was good. Not sure what the big difference between the first time and second time visit with the same order, but not sure about this place. I was going to give them a full 5 starts but the only thing that upset me in my visit was that the server was being sneaky about the service charge/ Tip being included. I work as a server and I always disclose that with my people because at times they might even give you more versus the percentage that they charge. Hands down THE BEST steak I have ever eaten, and I am 56 years old and have eaten a lot of steak. Initially I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the 30 ounce rib eye that comes on a flaming bed or rock salt. My salmon was good but I had one bite of her steak, (which every bite is perfect because you can heat it on the hot salt rock) and it melted in my mouth! I forgot all about my salmon and was grateful the steak was so big that she was happy to share with me!! The prices are amazing for this quality of food! The bar had four servers, Vincente, Jesus, Edy, Ramses, all were very friendly and on their game-simply put outstanding service as a team. Now the food.
