The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, not dry at all. You can tell it was made fresh. And the katsu sauce? Absolute perfection. It's located in a strip mall with ample parking. When you walk in, you order from the counter, then you sit down, and they bring it out for you. We got the family meal that feeds 4-6. It comes with white rice, macaroni salad, crab rangoon, and you select 3 kinds of meat. We chose bbq chicken, kalua pork, and kalbi short ribs. We also got spam musubi. Service was excellent. The staff was really nice and attentive. Bbq chicken was flavorful and tender. Very little chew. Kalua pork was moist and bursting with flavor after that first bite. Highly recommend. Kalbi short ribs was perfectly cooked and juicy. Spam musubi you have to eat it together because spam itself is salty. The rice and seaweed evens out the saltiness. The flavors were very good, but the beef felt a bit over cooked. I especially liked the special katsu curry sauce. The macaroni salad was also pretty good Also - the spam musubi was a highlight! It's been a long time since I've tasted a Chicken Katsu sauce that reminded me of my time in Hawaii. Thankfully the rest of the food did not disappoint either! This was a to go order for a small family get together and it not only made my wife and I extremely happy but also my cousin who reminisced about her honeymoon in Hawaii as well. The macaroni salad was superb as was all of the meat we ordered. The only thing I was not particularly fond of was the Crab Rangoon but I still ate a few pieces. We also ordered some spam musubi and some POG juice to wash it all down. All of it was great. I would be one of their best customers if this place was not 45ish minutes from my house. The combos come packaged in to-go ware even for dine in. I picked the Hawaiian BBQ combo (H2) came with bbq chicken, bbq beef and Kalbi short ribs. The chicken and beef were tender and flavorful, didn't need to add any teriyaki sauce or anything to it. Now the Kalbi ribs :( I feel like there was more gristle than actual meat so it was more chewy, not my fav. The combo came with rice, Mac and cheese and these cabbage underneath all the meat. All the side were great! The picture of the loco moco was my husbands, he devoured it. I'm not a fan of loco moco anywhere, so I'm leaving it out the review. I'm actually never had Lumpia at a Hawaiian spot, only authentic filipino. So, I wasn't sure what to expect. They were hot and fresh, but the flavor wasn't there for me. I'd pass on them if I ever came back, however I'm not sure how Hawaiian Lumpia is expected to taste. They had specials on different days of the week. The food here is consistently amazing! We travel to Hawaii and I would said it tastes close to several places I had there. The food portion is adequate and all the ingredients are always delicious. This food is the closest to local Hawaiian bbq plates in Hawaii. This is the real deal, unlike Maika'i Bbq which is crappy wanna- be island food. I enjoy coming here to eat. Service is always friendly and the cashier always greets you by saying, "Aloha." The atmosphere is very island style with bright colors and a Caribbean type of look. Mind you, most island local restaurants don't look like this but it's trying to portray an image which is very island-like, so it's cool to me. Best Katsu I have tried in all Houston! It was fresh and so crunchy. The Katsu sauce is not what you're use to but definitely as delicious! The place is clean and has a cute set up.
