Honestly, the wait was worth the 30+ minutes it took to order and receive my food. I came back after trying Cheba Hut at work for lunch, and I enjoyed my sub so much that I had to come back. Now, I thought I could just stop by and grab my order in about five minutes... that was not the case. It took well over 30 minutes. However, I do want to recognize the customer service, especially the gentleman in the red shirt who was running the cash wrap. He was very attentive and made sure orders were moving and getting out to customers. When I followed up on my order (about 20+ minutes in), he let me know there were about 9-10 subs ahead of mine due to a lot of online orders. Once I got my food, I thanked him and let him know next time I'll definitely be ordering online. If you're planning to grab lunch and not dine in, I highly recommend ordering ahead to save time. Now, the food... the sub was 10/10 amazing. I got the Jamaican Red Buffalo Chicken. Highly recommend. The only thing I want to point out is there was a guy working with bell peppers who came to the front line and started handling food for customers. He had on gloves and headphones, but when a customer asked him a question, he used his gloved hand to move his headphones, then went right back to handling food without changing gloves. Other than that, I'll definitely be back!!!!

Sooooo we had to wait to race at velocity and decided to walk the strip and have a drink. I wasn't a fan of the fruit flies that abruptly greeted us at the bar. The bartender was cool and attentive, but I was just not a fan of the atmosphere. It's divey but dusty and I don't do dust. All I could think about is what could be in my drink, so we were one and done. Can't speak on the subs because we only had drinks at the bar. Enter at your own risk and bring them a Zevo or something....

Unfortunately, I was sober when I ate this so maybe I wasn't the target demographic. The sandwich itself (AK-47) was alright, but I wish they were less raw onions. It was also a little too salty with the French dip included.

What would you do if you find yourselves after a concert with your date, sitting around at 11 pm starving out of your mind, and all the businesses have gone night night? Do you just go home and let your stummy grumble? No of course not, you get yourself a hot, delicious mouth watering sub from Cheba Hut ofc. Look I'll be straightforward with yall. You know I'm not about cutting corners. The sandwich combinations and FLAVORS these artists behind the counter craft are seriously spectacular. Like the combinations of meat, veggie, sauce, spice they be building is off the charts. Ofc they got the Build-Your-Own-Sandwich but like they got researchers who have PLACED these carefully thought combinations together and honestly think it's better just to choose a prebuilt combo already crafted. I got the Thai Stick and that baby was loaded. I'm talking grilled chicken breast coated by that teriyaki sauce. Green bell pepper and a pickle giving me a little crunch. The pineapple and pepperjack tug of warring over here with sweet and salty. With a little blanket of lettuce and tomato. Dusted over with that shake & house dressing. It's making my mouth water typing this. It was gone in 4 minutes. Now the one thing I learned at going to cheba at 11 pm last night was that the had karaoke going on that night. No big deal, love karaoke and singing my little heart out sometimes. But as a personal preference I either like doing it in a private room or if the location was like a bar/club. So while I do commend the fellow patrons for singing their heart out to Drake and Megan Thee Stallion. I definitely would have preferred maybe some chill music vibes and to hear not only myself think but the conversation I was having. But all in all, did not ruin the overall experience. Look I'll end it on this: there's nothing quite like crushing a hot, delicious sub at 11 pm with a beautiful date across from you, fresh off an amazing concert. I'm sorry, but there's just not. But hey.....don't let me spoil all your fun, if you find yourself in a similar situation, go see for yourself!

My bf wanted to try this place after seeing it online. Plenty of parking and seating. Service was great, just a tad bit slow though. The interior is really fun and fit the theme really well. They also have a full bar and koolaid! I'm not a sandwich girl but really enjoyed the subs! It was really good and the bread texture was exactly how I like it. Slight toast but not too crunchy. My bf picked the toppings so I'm not sure what he ordered. We had two different sandwiches, and they were both delicious. The cookies were also baked in house since I saw some fresh ones in the tray. They were ok. I would definitely come back here if I'm craving a sub.

I feel like I needed to come back and give a more thoughtful review given I've been making the stop here every month or two since I stumbled in during a Yelp event a few years back. Houston might be a hoagie desert, but Cheba Hut is a full-on oasis. Safe to say, this place rolls up a good time with flavor, flair, and just enough munchie madness to keep things interesting. My go-to? The Spicy Cali on a nug. It's basically the avocado toast of subs--spicy, creamy, and hitting all the right West Coast notes. I pass on the garlic bread, though. A little too extra--like that friend who adds truffle oil to everything. Respect, just not my vibe. What makes this joint hit different is the bread-to-buzz ratio. They've nailed the carb craft: soft inside, crisp outside, not too dense. Houston doesn't play when it comes to tacos or brisket, but good sandwich bread? That's rarer than a brunch spot with no waitlist. The full bar deserves a shoutout--perfect for sipping a local brew or cocktail while your order slow-roasts its way to greatness. Pro tip: this isn't a grab-and-go spot. It's a stoner-themed shop that takes its time, and honestly, it's time well spent. Skipping the chocolate chip cookie or Rice Krispie treat? That's a real test of willpower. My sweet tooth usually taps out. They're gooey, nostalgic, and hit just the right level of indulgence. Bottom line: Cheba Hut is the stoner sandwich shop packed with the kind of puns younger generations roast millennials for. But with subs this good, I'll wear that stereotype with pride. Even if you're not on the toasted wavelength, the menu is fire, the bar is chill, and the snacks absolutely slap.

Cheba Hut Toasted Subs fits into the category of businesses I had known about for quite some time but only just recently tried. And having tried their sandwiches twice now, I can definitely state this is a really good sandwich shop, especially for inner loop folks looking for something unique. For my first ever sandwich there, I ordered the White Widow, which comes with grilled chicken breast, bacon, mushrooms and ranch. It was really delicious. On another occasion, I ordered a Bomb (Meatball) sub, which was good but not better than the one at Mony's in Midtown. Decor-wise, everything looks really cool inside the shop. I thought parking here was easy and the service was great, so overall, I would rate Cheba Hut a 5/5. Highly recommended.

Location is clean, staff is inviting, and the sandwiches are so good!! What I really like about this place thought is their speciality fountain drinks.

I've always wanted to try Cheba Hut and never got the opportunity to go until recently. I went to their Sawyer Yards location in Houston. This sub shop has creative creations, with a variety of options to choose from. I ended up getting a 4 inch white widow (chicken, bacon, and ranch). Although a little pricey, they are loaded to the brim. I got my sub on their most popular bread, the garlic herb. I had no regrets about my sub at all. I also got to try a bite of their pacific blue (tuna melt) and Thai stick (teriyaki chicken). Both were very solid as well. I feel like you can't really go wrong with any of their subs. It was pretty busy for a weekday lunch, most patrons didn't look like your typical office people either. They also close at midnight, providing a valuable late night option

Man I'm so disappointed. For starters the person who took my order seemed like they didn't not want to be there and I felt like I was an inconvenience. Then the food comes and it feels like there's not as much toppings as there used to be. Granted I haven't been here in like 2ish years so I don't know if something's changed or what but I got my usual and you can see with my past pictures and compare. And it did not taste the same which was incredibly disappointing. I don't know what happened it wasn't as a great as I remember. The bartender was super nice though he checked up on me even though I wasn't sitting at the bar and he took my trash. If I go back to Cheba Hut it probably won't be in Houston.

I absolutely love Cheba Hut sandwiches! This was my first time coming back after a few years and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Apollo 13 sandwich with chips and a cookie. They definitely take their time with each order and it shows in the quality. I highly recommend the garlic Parmesan bread, because it adds such an amazing added flavor to the sandwich. Be prepared with lots of napkins though, because it gets messy! The flavors of the Greek sandwich are so delicious and I love all the veggies with the delicious chicken. The staff is so kind there and definitely do an amazing job preparing the food.

Really glad we decided to try this place today. Place was clean and busy but not so busy it felt crowed. Stupid point to mention but the booths were really comfortable. I hate sitting in a booth where the table seems like it's at your chest..., anyhow I ordered the Kali Mist...had a bit to many jalapeño for me, but that's not an issue. My friend had the La Canna. Bread was perfectly toasted veggies were fresh. We got the combo with chips and drink, farmers punch was good asf. Forgot the chips tho...:( they are behind you when you order and we walked away....maybe have the cashier point them out. Definitely be back.....good job guys!!!

I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. When our food was brought out and we had questions on some of the ingredients, the staff was very knowledgeable and knew right away what everything was.

Upon delivery to our table (you order at counter) I was pleased to see the generous portion sizes then as we dug in, the flavors were yum! Even though there with many people there, there was plenty of seating and a nice sized patio we should have sat and enjoyed the cool breeze as it's on the East side of the restaurant. I don't think beer/wine or available so it's probably BYOB, didn't ask. The sweets looked really good. Abddallah's will certainly be one of our regular dining spots from now on. Had a small menu, but what I tried for happy hour was very appetizing. I stuck with the hummus, I'm not a meat eater and couldn't do the dairy in the Beet Labneh. The hummus was AHMAZING. I could have licked my plate. Where am I? Heaven. Staff is super nice and attentive. Owner or Manager (?) came out several times for small talk. Anyways. I will be back. With friends. Before I wrote this reviews I checked in with friends and let them know how my adventure went. We are securing dates and times. Do yourself a favor and just visit!

My order is perfection: Italian with vinegar & oil, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and hot peppers. The Italian comes with prosciutto, hot capicola, genoa salami, and provolone cheese. The signature seeded bread is tasty all on its own, but also crusty enough to hold up to the mayo/vinegar/oil situation happening inside. Adding hot peppers gives it just the right amount of kick to keep things interesting. And even though the sandwich is basically as long as my forearm, it never feels overly heavy or dense while you're eating it. I always tell myself I'll just eat half. Next thing you know, I've devoured the whole thing and I'm sitting there pretending to be shocked. Their sandwiches are simple in the best way. No gimmicks, no unnecessary frills, just good bread, good meats, and the right balance of oil, vinegar, crunch, spice, and salt. Houston has plenty of great food, but a proper hoagie is not always easy to find. PrimoHoagies scratches that itch perfectly. If you're in need of a proper hoagie, how can you go wrong with a place literally called PrimoHoagies?

This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). The service is typically quick, efficient, and friendly. There are more than a handful of tables inside and some out on the patio. The shared parking lot can get very crowded as it is packed with lots of other businesses.

Here's a polished Google review version that keeps it honest but ends strong:…read more Review: I've been an occasional customer since this place first opened. Honestly, in the beginning it was pretty rough, slow service, incorrect orders, and the sandwiches just weren't as good as what I was used to getting in California. That said, I kept coming back every now and then hoping things would improve, and I'm glad I did. My last few visits have been great. The sandwiches have been fresh and really tasty, and the customer service has been solid. I also spoke with Jose, and he mentioned he's been working hard to turn things around, and it definitely shows. Not sure why they don't have more locations yet, but I hope they expand soon!

I ordered the Tejano Cesar Zepplin and added double chicken, pickled onions and halved tomatoes with a side of tomato, basil soup and it was all so good. I've never had a zeppelin until before now and it's the best way to describe it is that it's the cross between a sandwich and a salad. What it is exactly is a loaf of bread with the inside taken out so that it's like more of a shell and then it is a salad bowl like mixture stuffed in there. I feel like it's the perfect lunch because It's super filling, but also very light, and healthy! What more can you ask for. Wish I could even give this location 6 stars because I came about 40 minutes before close and he gave me 2 bread puddings for free because they were about to close.

They warm the bread, remove the inside and leaves the crispy outside to fill in with salad. Their salad recipes are good, especially the southwest one with avocados and black beans. Substitutions seem welcome and you get to choose your own sauce. Of course, let's not forget they offer Zapp's chips, which are delicious. Overall great and filling meal. Oh, so many tables to sit alone or as a group. Great place to be ! Leaving satisfied and would want to come back!
