Honestly, the wait was worth the 30+ minutes it took to order and receive my food. I came back after trying Cheba Hut at work for lunch, and I enjoyed my sub so much that I had to come back. Now, I thought I could just stop by and grab my order in about five minutes... that was not the case. It took well over 30 minutes. However, I do want to recognize the customer service, especially the gentleman in the red shirt who was running the cash wrap. He was very attentive and made sure orders were moving and getting out to customers. When I followed up on my order (about 20+ minutes in), he let me know there were about 9-10 subs ahead of mine due to a lot of online orders. Once I got my food, I thanked him and let him know next time I'll definitely be ordering online. If you're planning to grab lunch and not dine in, I highly recommend ordering ahead to save time. Now, the food... the sub was 10/10 amazing. I got the Jamaican Red Buffalo Chicken. Highly recommend. The only thing I want to point out is there was a guy working with bell peppers who came to the front line and started handling food for customers. He had on gloves and headphones, but when a customer asked him a question, he used his gloved hand to move his headphones, then went right back to handling food without changing gloves. Sooooo we had to wait to race at velocity and decided to walk the strip and have a drink. I wasn't a fan of the fruit flies that abruptly greeted us at the bar. The bartender was cool and attentive, but I was just not a fan of the atmosphere. It's divey but dusty and I don't do dust. Man I'm so disappointed. For starters the person who took my order seemed like they didn't not want to be there and I felt like I was an inconvenience. Then the food comes and it feels like there's not as much toppings as there used to be. Was in the area looking for a quick bite so I decided to check them out. I was excited bc I've heard great reviews about this place. I ordered the Kali mist sandwich which I didn't know would be served warm. I thought it would be a cold sub on toasted bread. Overall it was good especially if you like spice. The customer service definitely could've been better. A lovely man greeted me once I walked in, but whoever the cashier was must be forced to work there. Usually when you walk up to a cashier they say hello. When I walked up, she just stared at me as I looked at the menu, and it's not like she smiled and stared lol it looked like she was irritated. Even when I walked fully walked up to the register, she just continued to stare at me waiting for me to speak. A simple "hi" or "what can I get for you?" goes a long way. It was my first time here so I didn't know that they called their sizes different names. When she asked me what size I wanted, I said "medium...I'm not sure what you guys call it here". They had a movie playing when we stopped by during lunch with lots of curse words, shootings and even naked girls. I mean, if you're going to play that sort of thing play it after 10pm maybe, but during the day? Really? And then there's like creepy paintings/pictures of satanic looking things, and lots of weed decor. Located in Sawyer Yard, Cheba Hut has a huge, shared parking lot, which is great considering parking is always a challenge around here. I love the vibe of this place, and you don't have to be into chronic to come here, and I am certainly not (but if you are, that's probably a bonus for you). You order at the counter, and the workers are always helpful and friendly. While I have had several sandwiches, and almost always get the 4" nugg size, my favorite is the Kali Mist. I have also had the Kind and the Jamaican Red. I am sure there isn't a bad sandwich here. I am looking forward to trying the AK-47, which is the French dip, too. Perfect lunch sandwich and paired perfectly with the jalapeno chips. They pack up the veggies and meats so you really get your moneys worth here. The sizes are 4'', 8'', or 12'' which is a little frustrating because in my opinion 4'' is too small and 8'' is too big LOL but I do like that they cut them in half so you can easily save half for later when it is too much. The place was packed during lunch time with only one available table open when we got there (it is also a small space already) but still was clean and staff was super friendly.
