One of the best nice casual full service spots downtown. In the tunnel but has natural light, full bar, pleasant ambiance and really good food for breakfast and lunch. So glad Adair opened a downtown location. I go regularly for lunch and typically easy seating or a tiny wait. Service is always professional and on point. Very efficient but not rushed. Today I took two guests and everyone had my usual, fish tacos. They are great! You choose your own side and I love either the sweet potato fries or asparagus. Love the artichoke soup and power bowl too. Also a fan of their ice tea.

A group of coworkers and I are very new to downtown working. Downside - commute, upside - shiiiit all these restaurants! We were walking around the tunnels and happened upon Adair. It's in the Wells Fargo Plaza tunnel and is a cute sit down spot. It also has a quick to go section if you're on the move. I decided to go with the Blackened Shrimp & Goat Cheese Salad. I really enjoyed the meal, it was light and since carbs don't work well for me, walking back to my tunnel wasn't a chore. The only thing I didn't like was the salad came dressed. I'd request on the side if I get their salads again. They also offer bottled 20 oz for soft drinks...I wasn't expecting the 3.50/4 price tag but I guess girl! My coworkers ordered fish tacos and Prime Rib French Dip and had no complaints. The service was spectacular. Hispanic gentleman, I wanna say he said his name was Mike but I've been eating out so damn much, I might be wrong. He was funny, super helpful and friendly and when I told him I'm a foodie, we all started discussing good seafood and bbq restaurants in the city to try. Now I was trying to take my whole team back and couldn't find a way to reserve a table. Idk if you can through phone but when we got there, everybody and their mama and mama's mama was trying to eat. It was a rainy day with packed tunnels. Restaurant is rather small so party of 6 was estimated over 30 min wait. Lesson learned...

I was in town for the work week. My coworker suggested this place for efficient and good service as well as healthy food which is in short supply in work catered events. I started with a bowl of lemon artichoke soup. It was delicious with a light lemon flavor. Then I had the blackened goat cheese salad. It was delicious with pink in seeds and a light dressing. I highly recommend this place! The server was friendly and service was great! Window design makes for natural light.

Went here on a corporate lunch with my team, as it's located in the middle of downtown. The ambiance gives french cafe vibes and there is a Adair cafe located right outside for a quick drink to-go. The food here is always super fresh and the food is one of the top options in downtown. The fries have a nice crunch, and the burger is moist paired with the buns. The service is questionable to say the least. They need to hire more employees to keep up with the lunch rush. Our whole team had empty glasses that needed to be refilled (which were never refilled). Additionally, it took quite a while for us to even place our order. Overall, Adair is a solid 4.5/5 and would visit more frequently if the service was better.

Located underground beneath the Wells Fargo/PWC tower. It looks like a solid power lunch spot with a modern and clean interior that is located in a pretty good spot; downtown wise. We've come by for drinks and for breakfast; Pros: convenient tunnel access, modern interior Cons: Food is pretty average/ non extraordinary, service is very slow. Overall, there are much better and much less desirable breakfast spots. It's convenient in terms of tunnel access but I wouldn't recommend it for the food alone. Coming by with a group for a drinks would be the ideal spot.

We decided to go in the downtown tunnels on Friday afternoon, and not get lost.. lol. So we entered the tunnels at the Wells Fargo building. After wandering around awhile, we decided to have a snack at Adair Kitchen. We sat at the bar, and all ordered the lemon ice box pie. I also ordered a lemon drop martini, which competed with my lemon dessert. Both were very good, and we enjoyed talking to people who work there, a very nice Russian lady and a German lady: The restaurant is very clean and attractive. Give it a try.. they're not only in the tunnel; they have other locations.

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.

My actual meal was a bacon swiss and mushroom burger, which was excellent. Between the biscuits and the burger, I am forced to acknowledge that it was entirely too much food. Sadly, that did not prevent me from eating all of it anyway. Delicious! The restaurant, which is a diner with very basic decor, is on an approach road to IAH, and is open 24/7. Mr. Picky ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp while I opted for Veal Parmigiana, and we each stole a bite from the other's plate. Seriously, we hadn't expected much when walking in and looking around, but were pleasantly surprised at the kitchen's efforts. We finished lunch with an order of homemade bread pudding and tiramisu, the latter of which in 2012 won a chamber of commerce epicurean competition 1st place ribbon. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
