Two 2 Meat Dinner
Connor L.

I saw a flyer for this place at my job and I never thought about it again until yesterday I was craving a filling lunch. Looked it up and it wasn't that far, I was surprised to find it in the parking lot of gas station and the lot was full of cars. I stepped in and the line and staff were friendly and quick with the order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean and a decent space if you want to dine-in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the two meat plate, brisket and turkey with sides of Mac and rice. To be forreal, I came because I remembered they had dirty rice (think they call it jambalaya rice) and if a barbecue spot has dirty rice I'm gonna come try it out. The rice was my favorite part but the Mac was good and the brisket and turkey was hitting to. I'm more into the sides at bbq spots than the meats but this place was good already. Check it out if your near Little York and Hollister there is not much to eat out that way.

Chopped Brisket dinner and Brisket BBQ Baked Potatoe

The brisket here took me back in time -- the very first bite instantly reminded me of being 7 years old, sitting at the table with family and enjoying true Texas BBQ. Now at 40, that memory came rushing back, and that says everything about the quality of the food. The brisket was tender, smoky, and full of flavor, exactly how it should be. The mac and cheese was creamy and seasoned just right, and the mashed potatoes with gravy tasted homemade. The loaded baked potato was generous and packed with brisket, cheese, and all the fixings. Portions are big, everything was served hot, and the BBQ sauce tied it all together perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of the food, the service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming -- the kind of place you want to come back to again and again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're looking for BBQ that feels like a memory you didn't know you missed, Smokeroom BBQ is the spot.

Brisket nachos for $18.50.

Saw the reviews, thought I'd try it out. I was waiting for friends to meet me here, so I got brisket nachos for $18.50! Way too steep of a price for so little brisket. The most flavorful thing was the jalapeños. The brisket was tender but had zero flavor. This is not Texas bbq. I'd put my own bbq against this stuff any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I tried adding some of their sauce- mistake. It is not made in house. If it is, they need to stop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice people, loud country music; overpriced poor quality food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ooooo baby! This is the best BBQ I've had since living in Houston! The bbq sauce is given in the side which is very helpful. It's not overly seasoned and it taste just right! The meat was smoked well and wasn't gummy or anything! You can tell it's fall off the bone. I ordered through a 3rd party so I never spoke to anyone, which is a bummer because I'd love to tell them how good the food is. The only thing is that they are quite expensive, I paid about 14 dollars for just a burger! ‍ [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely would go back on my own and sit in just to see how the service and ambiance is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Brisket + Pork Rib
R H.

Tucked next to a gas station--though fully separate and proudly standing on its own--this Texas BBQ joint is the kind of hidden-in-plain-sight spot locals love to claim. Service is fast and friendly. The brisket is the standout: tender, well-rendered, and packing just enough bark to make you pause between bites. Ribs come seasoned to perfection, holding their own without a drop of sauce--though the house BBQ sauce is worth a taste. The sauce is balanced, not overly sweet, with just enough tang to complement rather than cover. Sides: The green beans are flavorful and cooked just right. The mac and cheese brings comfort food energy with stovetop nostalgia, though it leans heavy on the cheese--delicious at first bite, maybe a bit much by the third.

My first time trying smokeroom, highly recommend! Brisket - 4/5 could be more moist but I don't blame them, I ordered from Uber eats and there was a storm, so the brisket was cold from delivery but regardless it was amazing Chicken - 4.5/5 even when I rebaked, the skin was so flavorful, meat meat was soft Sausage - 4/5 just jalapeño sausage Corn bread- 4627281829/5 OMG THE CORN BREAD WAS SO GOOD I WILL ORDER MORE NEXT TIME. Also had dirty rice and potato salad, both were solid and flavorful. I'm very glad that I found this place, will definitely order again! *pictures are taken when there were cold*

Smoked Chicken

I ordered through uber eats. So nothing to review for the ambiance or the service. I ordered a rib dinner with Cajun rice and potato salad. The bad were the sides. The rice is bland and potato salad didn't have any love in it. The good were the meats. The ribs were tender and tasteful while the smoked chicken was ok. I would definitely order the ribs again, but will try different sides next time.

Got the 4 meat with pulled pork (B), Turkey(C), ribs (B) and sliced brisket (C). Mac'n Cheese was ok and Beans were ok.

Since we're big fans of Texas BBQ, we were excited to have dinner there and expected a great experience. The atmosphere was what you'd expect from a traditional Texas BBQ restaurant. However, there were quite a few flies around, and we had to constantly keep them away from our food, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. The brisket was extremely dry and lacked the juicy, tender texture that good Texas brisket should have. The pork ribs were also underwhelming--they mostly tasted like black pepper, with very little smoky or savory flavor coming through. We've eaten at many BBQ restaurants, including Hutchins BBQ in the Dallas area, and we've never had brisket and ribs this disappointing. I rarely leave one-star reviews, especially based on the food alone, but this meal was honestly one of the worst BBQ experiences I've had. The only positive part of our visit was that the service was fine--the staff was polite and the food came out promptly. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend this place, especially considering its reputation and high ratings. We left wondering how it earned such glowing reviews.

The way the place is laid out, you go in, hop in line, and then claim a table after paying. A science specifically says not to hold the table before paying because it's unfair... First time I have seen a sign like that, but I get it. Honestly I was expecting just a sprinkle of brisket on top of the mac, but it was a hefty amount, and WOW WOW was it good! I added both of the homemade sauces to my food so I could taste the differences. The kick was nice, but I really did love the sweeter one. The sausage was good too, but I wish I got the jalapeno cheese one. I had opted not to since I already had so much mac and cheese. As if the barbecue wasn't good enough, they had a bar with a really friendly bartender who is eager to give city recommendations. It was thursday, and they had tequila deals, including some very strong $6 margaritas. We only did one round, and that was all we needed. We were also able to watch the World Cup game there. It was a total vibe and I know I would go back whenever I visit again. Geez, what is the other BBQ like in the city?!

A 2-year Michellin star BBQ joint was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My friends and I got there around 10am and were lucky enough to grab a number. The number secures your spot in line but don't worry if you show up and they run out, there's a spot on the porch where the non-number line starts. We ordered moist brisket, garlic sausage, and the beef rib. For sides, we went with mac and cheese and beans. Everything was superb! The brisket melted in your mouth, no knife needed. The sausage had a nice snap to it and get great flavor. The bark on the beef rib was *chef's kiss*. The mac and cheese was creamy while the beans had a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The service is also great! While we were eating, staff would regularly check all of the tables to check if anyone needed anything. The staff taking our order also chatted with us about other BBQ spots we've been to. Everything was such a great experience and the quality of the food is 100/10!

When we got our order to the room we were missing one side that we ordered. We got Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad with a brisket/smoked chicken combo and a brisket/ribs. I was shocked to see two pieces of brisket and a chicken breast for $28. Maybe it was an off night but the quality just wasn't there. All the food was cold (our fault bc we ordered it for delivery) and was lacking flavor. Killen's never disappoints…read more Their beef ribs were just short of amazing. Juicy, succulent, tender. For a giant piece of meat on the bone, they worked wonders. You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

Hello, I am writing…read moreregarding an unpleasant experience my family and I had on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Our party consisted of nine adults and two children, including a baby. We had already begun placing our order, and since only one person was paying, there was no reason for every member of our group to remain in line. Additionally, one of the adults in our party is legally blind, and we also had a baby with us, so a few family members sat down while the order was being placed. We understand your policy regarding not reserving tables, and we were not attempting to reserve tables. We were already ordering our food, and there were plenty of available tables throughout the dining area. Even other customers nearby were kind enough to help my family get situated. Unfortunately, the employees at the register and the employee who was cleaning tables approached us in a rude and unprofessional manner. The employee cleaning tables came to our table and stated that table reservations were not allowed, despite the fact that we were already in the process of ordering. The way they addressed my family was unnecessary and lacked basic courtesy and understanding of the circumstances. I would like to point out that the employees who actually took our order were polite, professional, and provided excellent customer service. My concern is specifically with the employee at the register and the employee cleaning the tables, whose behavior reflected poorly on your establishment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. A customer service refresher or additional training on how to handle situations with empathy and professionalism--especially when families include young children or individuals with disabilities--would be beneficial.
