I have heard of Lena's Asian Kitchen for years. But this was my first time set foot at the actual restaurant. In May 2024, I volunteered to hand out lunch boxes at Lena's Kitchen somewhere in SW Houston. Fast forward to now, I learned about this location and at 99 Ranch Market in West Houston. It's my goal to visit that location this summer. Coming to this location was a little tricky. I had to park on the top floor of the garage. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone from valet person to security guards to the moment I walked in. The employee gave me a quick introduction to the menu. It's fairly simple and I grabbed the lunch combo option: grilled chicken banh mi and vegetables potstickers. Everything was delicious including the water infused with cucumber and lemon. I had the roast pork belly today and it was one of the worst recipes I've ever had. The sauce tasted like nothing more than hoisin sauce mixed with some broth. The person behind the counter was absolutely awesome, but the food was just not there. read more

We recently had Lena's Cafe catering for our anniversary celebration, and the experience exceeded expectations. There was more than enough food for our group of 45 people, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared The Banh Mi Board was the perfect appetizer for our guests to enjoy while they sipped drinks--it was a huge hit and was completely gone! We also ordered the Huli Huli Chicken, Crispy Pork Belly (which was the favorite of the night), shaken beef, pad see ew and snow pea leaves. I would highly recommend the crispy pork, shaken beef, pad see ew and banh mi board. We did a tasting and the chicken was much better during the tasting then the celebration for some reason. All of it was a great choice. Lena provided two servers for our event, and they were both fantastic--professional, friendly, and attentive. There was a small miscommunication regarding the serving setup before our celebration started, but after the anniversary celebration, Lena took full accountability for what happened. She was genuinely sincere in her apology and made sure we understood what had occurred. The way she handled the situation meant a lot to both my husband and me, and we truly appreciated her thoughtful approach in making things right after the fact. It's rare to see such care and professionalism, and it made our experience even more memorable. Lena's Cafe truly made our event unforgettable with their outstanding food and excellent service. After driving past and noticing this new restaurant's signage, two friends and I went for lunch. We enjoyed chatting with Lena, asking her about her restaurant and what she'd recommend. I got 4 different meals, one for lunch each day, and they were all very good! 1) Matar paneer: Good flavor and if you love paneer gotta give this a try! 2) Tandoori chicken with black rice (one of my favs): the chicken was so flavorful and the black rice complemented very well 3) Baked fish and eggplant curry: the veggies were delicious! Unfortunately I did really enjoy the meals the 1st two times that I ordered. However, the last order I had I feel the quality has changed. Firstly, the nutrition information was not accurate. For a large meal that I ordered, the nutrition label had medium meal nutrient details. At first I really loved that the meals included asian veggies (napa cabbage, snow pea leaves, bok choy, yu choy etc) but now theyve mixed in american carrot, broccoli etc and some of my meals came with a lot of carrots! I was honestly disappointed. My last delivery was also late-- it came around 830PM and so we were not able to enjoy it for dinner on Monday evening as the meals normally arrive prior to 5PM. The meals are on the more expensive side for the size but I wanted to continue to support the business. When I mentioned the quality and the delivery, the owner did let me know that I was supposed to be contacted that the meals were not passed to the driver in the morning so they had to deliver them later in the day. I wasn't contacted so I was under the assumption I wasn't getting my meals that day and there was no tracking # to follow the status. For the quality, Lena only offered 15% off a future order which doesn't help too much because that means I'd have to put in another order again. read more

It's hard to tell with meal preps how much food is actually in the box so when we take it out and put a Large meal on a plate, it's a lot of food! That's one of the things we like about Lena's is that we'll actually get full from these tasty meals. We order pretty much weekly and easily meet the requirement for free delivery. The price, quantity, quality and convenience is a huge win for busy people! Our favorite dishes are the Kalbi Beef Bowl, Grilled Honey Lemongrass Pork, and Braised Pork in Caramelized Sauce. Saw an ad for this Asian meal prep on IG so I had to give it a try. Easy online ordering and free delivery within a certain radius if you order $100 or more. Meals are reasonably priced and there's options for medium and large portions as well as ability to substitute white rice for black rice or all veggies. All the meals taste great! I order delivery a lot so it's great to have healthy versions of Asian food (my fave) packed and ready to go for work. My only critiques are that the medium size meals for the shrimp dishes could be bigger (more protein and more carbs- or at least more carbs) because 200-300 calories isn't a lot for one meal. I also am not crazy about the use of Smart Butter. Lena said she uses it to make the meals dairy free, but I would prefer grass fed ghee (she said she would consider it). All in all, I've ordered twice and will keep ordering because they taste great and the customer service is amazing. They will text you to make sure your order is correct and remedy any issues promptly. Highly recommend! read more

We loved the option to substitute white rice for the black rice. The black rice made us feel fuller, healthier, and it paired so well together with the sauces and meats.
