I just catered breakfast for a family event with 20 people and spend $442 (including tip/delivery). The food was mediocre and the portions were so small. I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Completely impressed by this group. My office was wanting to mix things up a bit with a new caterer and thank you google and Yelp for coming through! I saw the reviews for this caterer and they were close to the office so thought I'd give them a try. First off, right off the bat the presentation was so pretty! We ordered charcuterie, crostinis, empanadas and meatballs and since I'm apart of the setup I got to sample all of the items. Turns out you can look good, and taste good too! Delicious! Hot foods were kept hot in a special container and the delivery driver so friendly! He said "anything else I can do to make you happy?" Love it! Lol. Who doesn't love when a man asks you that haha! Not to knock another caterer but I went from piping my own guacamole to this treatment. What was I thinking? Got kudos from my boss and now all I have to do is see what the others say. Thank you Uptown Catering for making our baby shower perfect! Our guests were impressed with the food, the presentation of the set-up, and the impeccable service from the on-site staff. Communication with Lindsay via Yelp throughout the whole process was great, she always patiently answers all of our questions and concerns in a timely manner. On the day of the event, the staff arrived 2 hours early, quickly and quietly set up everything. The chef, Daniel, was super easygoing, friendly, and professional, and he even brought us complimentary desserts, consist of macarons, white and dark chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies, all beautifully arranged on a tray and decorated with fresh flowers. We had three on-site staff to help pass the appetizers around during the first hour, serve lunch during the second hour, and then pass the drinks around for the toast. They followed our timeline and plan accordingly, made the whole process easy and stress-free. All the staff was so helpful and considerate throughout the event, and one of them even helped me (the host) get a plate of food as he saw I was too busy with the guests. After everything, they helped us pack the leftovers in boxes, cleaned up and quietly left without interrupting our event. I can't say enough positive things about Lindsay and her staff. I needed to find a place that could deliver 140 boxed lunches for a school field trip. Living 200 miles away, I used Yelp to locate businesses in the area and Uptown Catering sent in a bid. They worked with me to develop some simple menu options that fit our budget. When our trip plans changed, they easily pivoted to offer us a duplicate order on the previous day in a completely different location. Emails about our order were always answered in a timely and professional manner. On the first day of our trip, lunch delivery was exactly on time, complete, organized, and DELICIOUS. On the second day, I sent a last-minute request that our order have less plastic packaging (just as our speaker at Buffalo Bayou Park was explaining they like to minimize single-use plastics). Uptown Catering had already boxed up the lunches, but they took the time to remove all the food from the plastic boxes and repackage it. Talk about above and beyond! Great service. Wonderful business. Highly recommend. We ordered turkey sandwiches, ham sandwiches, and garden salads and I asked for "random sides." The sides were potato salad, Italian pasta salad, Greek pasta salad, and pesto pasta salad. We had arguments over which was the best. Uptown catering did an event for me Saturday, December 7 for 100 people and everything was perfect. We had the Italian pot roast and creamy Tuscan chicken. We were able to do a tasting in order to chose our menu. . The food was served hot, the servers were on time and pleasant, they cleaned up when they were finished.
