I hired Events by Momo for my client appreciation event, and I was truly blown away. From the moment we started planning, Moon made everything feel effortless. She didn't just handle the drinks, she crafted a gorgeous, cohesive menu that fit our brand, matched the holiday theme perfectly, and genuinely impressed every single guest. The hot chocolate station was a huge hit! What I loved most was how prepared and adaptable she was. Moon had thoughtful backup plans ready for last-minute changes, and whenever anything unexpected came up, she improvised so smoothly that no one even noticed. Everything felt seamless. Her attention to detail is incredible, and she goes all out to make sure her clients receive a truly high-end experience. She was warm, friendly, and took such great care of my clients. It felt like having a partner who genuinely understood the importance of the event. The entire process was stress-free, organized, and elevated from start to finish. I honestly could not have done it without her. Moon is officially our go-to planner, and I'd recommend her wholeheartedly for any corporate event, team celebration, or holiday gathering. read more

I had Moon decorate and cater for Galentines and everything was amazing -- from the design details to the experience. The plated dinner was especially memorable. She was professional, organizes and made the event feel so special. I would highly recommend her! read more

Moon is AMAZING!!! She is an absolute godsend and made my Mehndi event an incredible success. I had been struggling to get vendors to respond to me and Moon was immediately on it. She worked with me on my vision and what she created was beyond my expectations. She was present throughout my whole event to ensure it ran smoothly and even led a mini dance class to teach the non-Desi folks some dance moves. Everyone had an incredible time and I am so thankful she was there. She was respectful of my budget and always ran things by me and helped me make the most cost effective decisions. I cannot recommend Moon enough and cannot wait for the opportunity to work with her again! read more

We hired Moon as our day of co-ordinator and that was the best decision we made. She is just amazing. She is responsive and detailed oriented. Moon is kind and interacted with all the guests and vendors politely inspite of tight timeline. Would recommend Moon to anyone who is wanting to make their dream wedding come true. read more

Loved working with Moon for an event at Brava. As a beverage catering company having a planner that knows what they are doing and asking all of the right questions is crucial-- it makes our job so much easier so that we can execute flawlessly! Highly recommended and can't wait to work together again! read more

Momo was amazing! She puts so much love into her work and it shows. She worked around my budget and ideas. Extremely satisfied!

Hiring Moon and her company "Events by Momo" to coordinate my son's wedding was the best decision I ever made! Even though we did not hire her as a full wedding planner (in hindsight we really should have!), Moon went over and above her role as Day Of Coordinator. She was responsive, professional and extremely helpful. She was always available to answer questions and to provide suggestions. Moon stepped in when we had issues at the reception to "rescue" a situation created by one of our vendors...she saved the day! I would recommend hiring Events by Momo for any occasion. My niece hired Moon for her backyard wedding a few years ago and it was a huge success! Thank you Moon for everything! read more

We hired Events by Momo for our wedding of about 150 people around November 2013. We did extensive research on about 30 caterers before we settled on Momo. We wanted unique food for the wedding that had a bit of an Asian flare. Even though Momo is a bit on the pricey side ($35 and up per person) the best thing is you can customize the food you want and she can pretty much make it. We had plantains, stir fried mixed vegetables, pepper beef and light creamy curry (vegetarian and with chicken and shrimp). As the bride, I really didn't get to eat much of the food but we had a lot of compliments from our guests about having non-standard wedding food. I was disappointed that the curry ended up being way too spicy when I actually asked for the curry to be milder pre-wedding discussions. The beef was also a little overlooked but not bad considering the quantity of people you are serving. The caterer showed up on time and to the best of my knowledge cleaned up and served everyone with efficiency. I also enjoyed working with Moon (the owner) as she was professional and responsive to all my questions. This is very important when choosing caterers. My last bit of advice is to double check with Moon if you have any special requests on the food a few days before the wedding. read more

I've worked with Events by Momo for several events and enjoyed each experience! The biggest one was my wedding (175 people) that we initially hired Moon for catering, but fell in love with her so much we brought her on for event coordinating and day of coordination. I don't know what we would've done without her! She's incredibly detail oriented, a creative problem solver, and a joy to work with. She loves finding new ways to be creative, cost effective, and go above and beyond expectations. I'd highly recommend her for any event services you might need! read more

Let me start with I am not related to Moon or Claire, nor am I in a relationship with either. I say that because I sound like one if their parents! My experience with Momo Events was top notch! They were responsive, accommodating and exceeded every expectation. The food was wonderful, the service professional and execution flawless. I can not recommend them as anything but A++! read more

I was at a friends going away party and i distinctly remember the food. They had brought in several dishes from Momo Catering, which were all excellent. I was extremely full towards the end of the night because each item was not your typical finger foods - everything was really unique and substantive, which made me go back for more. After talking to the owner, it was evident that she was very professional, loved her job and can be creative/flexible to handle any event. Definitely would want to have Momo cater a future event. read more

This is the most amazing food I've had. I had Indian food, among other dishes served, but it's Momo's Indian food that I dream about at night. It was moist and cooked perfectly. The aromas were intense and mouth-watering. I ate until I was stuffed, and then some more. It made wonderful leftovers. The chef personally served us, and she was warm and concerned. Before cooking she asked about allergies and preferences. The whole ordeal made me feel like a queen. This was for a small group of people. read more

We initially wanted to hire Moon as a caterer for our wedding, but when we met for our first tasting, it was obvious that she did so much more. She was so organized and seemed to understand our vision for the wedding, so we entrusted her with doing everything from the table settings to the linens to the lighting. And, of course, the food. We held the reception in a 1920s fire station, and Moon created styling that was totally beautiful and matched the prohibition/vintage theme. When I was clueless at our meetings, she was full of ideas and helped me to brainstorm. She was very cognizant of our budget, and she asked for approval any time she considered making a purchase that we hadn't talked about. Our ceremony was fairly traditional in a church, and she honored our wishes to keep it really simple. She had lots of creative ideas, and she helped us to achieve the semi-homemade wedding we had in mind. She even made the bouquets and other floral arrangements all by herself after the florist fell through, and they were gorgeous. Moon was great at coordinating with the other people involved in the wedding (band, baker, venue) and was always professional. I knew that if I asked her to communicate with someone else for me in the planning, she would be an excellent representative. Her staff was equally professional, and guests even commented on the friendliness of her bartenders and waitstaff. And finally, the FOOD. The food was just delicious. Moon does amazing food with south Asian flair (we had chicken tikka wraps), but she also does regular-old-American comfort food (we also had amazing macaroni and cheese "balls" that she invented). Our food was kind of an eclectic mix, and she was very effective at helping us decide what missing pieces we had and making sure we had enough to feed everyone. I would recommend Moon and Momo Catering to anyone. She made the wedding planning process incredibly easy for me, which is more than any bride can hope for. Her knowledge and creativity are extensive, and her pricing is very reasonable. She will plan a beautiful event for you. read more

We had Momo's cater a corporate event for us, and we were blown away at how good the food and service was. Before the event the chef worked with us to pick out the perfect menu. She was extremely professional and attentive to all our guests. The food was a huge hit. We still talk about the sweet potato puffs she made. We can't wait to have another party just so we can have her food. read more

My husband's good friends Faith and John used Events by Momo to cater their wedding and recommended Moon and her team to us for ours. Poor Moon probably didn't realise what she got herself into as both my husband and I are based out of the Middle East. Moon both catered as well as planned our wedding. Moon organised absolutely everything from the invites, flowers, cakes, food, decor, gifts for our guests all the other vendors including transport company, hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids and the Moms, the fantastic band, and photobooth company. Neither my husband nor I have the slightest imagination when it comes to these things and Moon did not let us down - the decor was amazing, every single detail was taken care of, and the food...! Oh boy, the food! I was a little wary initially about the food. I mean, how good can food made for 100 people taste? It turned out super delicious! I was sad I only managed to snag myself one serving (given that I was busy talking to everyone etc) :(. All this was done while communicating with us solely by email - due to the distance, I only managed to meet up with Moon once in the whole lead-up to the wedding! Her response time was super quick (Moon, do you ever sleep??). We would definitely recommend Moon to anyone who needs an event planner or a caterer. PS: Our friends had their wedding at the same venue with Events by Momo doing the planning and I have been told that there was nothing same-ish about our 2 weddings. Moon came up with a completely different concept each time... except for the macaroni and cheese balls which my husband insisted on having on the menu after hearing rave reviews from John! read more

After planning my wedding for 11 months and doing a lot of DIY stuff, I wasn't sure if it would be executed correctly without me there on the day of. Moon was my caterer so she suggested she take on the last leg of it all. SHE WAS FANTASTIC. Her food was exceptional--she mixed American flavors with South Asian ones for our fusion wedding so we had excellent prime rib and potatoes as well as samosas and butter chicken. People are still telling me how good the food was. She also made sure everything looked perfect and was executed perfectly. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. read more

We choose Events by Momo after doing some research and final tasting with Moon. My husband and I were so impressed with their tasting that we cancelled the rest of our tastings with other vendors! Their menu was catered to us, and definitely unique! We choose to do 3 apps, 2 entrees, 1 vegetarian option, and also dessert. I will say that the food presented at the time of our tasting did NOT match the food that was served at our wedding on August 29, 2015 - that was a bit disappointing, but it wasn't that big of a deal for me. Here's my review: 1. Food - we had Roast Beef, Crawfish Étouffée, and Vegetarian lasagna. My husband said that the crawfish étouffée was the best that he's ever had, and he's from NOLA. He definitely said that the quality of Crawfish wasn't as good at the wedding, but I guess when you're trying to serve 150 people, something has to give. I can't tell you about any of the rest because I didn't eat anything that night...BRIDES make sure that you force yourself to eat! 2. Service - very good. Moon and Claire were very accommodating and helped us a lot with the process. They were always very polite and prompt with their email replies, which is GREAT for an OCD bride. I did have some issues when I tried to take off the dessert portion of the meal 10 days before the wedding and was told that I would be charged a penalty for that, that was disappointing since I didn't see that in the contract. I decided to keep the dessert because of that. Some vegetarians complained that they didn't have enough food when I placed an order more than what was necessary for the amount of people, but Moon was able to take care of them at the reception - way to go! All in all, great experience! Top notch people, and a joy to work with. 1 star knocked off for the surprises on the food at the actual event, but other than that, I would use them in a heartbeat! read more

I sought out Events by Momo as a catering resource for our cocktail party for about 60 people, but her role expanded into full-service event planning. Moon proved to be a great resource. She provided not only an event-appropriate menu, she also helped us find an excellent venue and the right entertainment (both an acoustic guitar player and a DJ). She was easy to work with, she stayed within our budget, and her food was incredible. We were impressed with her responsiveness and her professionalism, and I would recommend her highly for your event. read more

My fiancé and I attended MomoPOP, an event hosted by Events by Momo at the Bisong Art Gallery. Everything was phenomenal. The food and wine were superb, the ambience was beautiful and the attention to detail on service/timing was flawless. MomoPOP is a wonderful experience that is unlike anything else in Houston, emphasizing "shared dining." Guests get to enjoy a wonderful dining experience while also meeting new people. Moon is so sweet and put on such a wonderful event - we can't wait to enjoy more events by her in the future! read more

Hired Momo Catering VERY last minute for a party we hosted for my husband's client. I do a lot of entertaining but did not have any time to spend on this dinner. Emailed Momo Catering 48 hours before the event, told them generally what we were trying to do, and asked if they could possibly help us. Thankfully, they could, they did and it was fantastic. I asked them to suggest the menu and went w/all their suggestions. All I had to do was write the check at the end of the night. Our guests really enjoyed themselves and the food. I happily recommend these folks for your catering needs. read more

My wife and I were given the recommendation to cater our wedding with Events by Momo through a friend. We did our homework with other caterers, but decided that Momo was the best bet. The pricing was very reasonable and the attention was unparalleled. Moon was so helpful with everything, from the delicious food options to the day-of coordination, and made sure every detail was taken care of. We had the exact food we wanted, the cake we wanted, the decorations, floral, hair, makeup, everything was perfect. Moon made the whole day so easy. And everyone was blown away by the incredible food. We recommend Events by Momo to anyone looking for a caterer or coordinator. Moon is the best. read more

Moon's attention to detail is phenomenal. she is quick on her feet and works well under pressure. I would definitely recommend.

Ms Moon from Momo Catering was the perfect find for our celebration. I could tell that Ms Moon was passionate from the moment I spoke on the phone with her. I didn't have a great idea what I wanted for the party's theme and ambiance, but Moon know how to draw out my ideas and develop them. She was a great resource and connected me to many other vendors, including music and valet. She handled everything for us and made payment easy and simple. The only thing I would have changed about the evening is I wish I would have eaten more of the delicious food made by Momo's in house chef. I would certainly hire them again! read more

I have used Momo for five different events over the last two years and have always been very impressed with the quality, ideas, enthusiasm and professionalism. The non-profit I work for brings in 70+ guests from over 30 countries and Momo manages to pull off the impossible by catering to all the different tastes. Whether it be buffet lunches, or themed dinners, guests have always been very complimentary about the food. We have also used Momo for a Reception for 200 guests. In addition to the food, they provided the bar and the whole decor for the night. Moon (the owner) and her team are a delight to work with and when we return to Houston next year I look forward to working with them again. read more

I went with Momo catering for my husband's 40th birthday party because of the great reviews on yelp. However, I was very disappointed. Moon is professional and pleasant to work with but in the end, the services provided were far below my expectations. To begin, the party started at 6:30 and they didn't arrive til 6:40. This of course, made my party seem unfinished when guests arrived. The passed hors d'œuvre didn't greet my guests on a timely manner and were cold. I feel I overpaid for the amount and quality of food provided. Portions were small. Our agreement was to have a carving station for the prime rib but there was none. In addiiton to the regular service charge, I paid extra for servers for the passed hors d'œuvres and carving station. There was one less staff present than I paid for. The food quality and taste was average. I won't be hiring Momo catering for future special occasions. Update: they gave me a partial refund. I went to cash the check and they put a stop payment on the check. Now they won't respond to my emails. Not very professional at all. read more

I was referred to Events by Momo for my wedding and I am SO GLAD I called! I had an untraditional (tricky) situation: no wedding ceremony or wedding party (just our 5 kids), an evening reception in Texas, a brunch reception in Pennsylvania about a month later, each event with their own feel/theme/ local and out-of-town guest lists- to say the least, I was in over my head from the get-go! We knew what we wanted, and what we didn't, just didn't know how to pull it all together. From the first call, Moon listened to our ideas and concerns offering creative suggestions and effective solutions. She outlined a plan, then made sure we were well informed of the options available and we were comfortable with the final decision as we moved along. She kept us within our budget as well, prioritizing our wants and reallocating funds accordingly. At one point, and you can imagine a full time job with 5 kiddos, I handed the reins over to her completely- WITH FULL CONFIDENCE! And I'm so glad I did. Each event was executed flawlessly. I didn't stress. Everything was so enjoyable. She was such a lifesaver!! Moon is professional, creative yet sophisticated, edgy yet super sweet. Whether you want to be in the mix for EVERY detail or just hand it ALL over, she's your girl. read more

We sampled the whole menu at the Houston Wine Festival and everything was DELICIOUS!!! The braised lamb wraps were my favorite and I can't say I've ever had anything quite like them. She was quick to identify my needs and wants with equal parts professionalism and creativity. She has an eye for presentation and a palate for phenomenal food. I hired Events by Momo for my last minute wedding reception for about 90 people and they were great. Moon had about two weeks to get an idea of what I wanted and get organized. As the day got closer she also took on day of coordination. She communicates well and was cautious to get what I wanted and within our budget. Guests still rave about the uniqueness of the food.
