I made reservations for my friends birthday brunch. Originally going to be 3 of us but a fourth lady joined and it was no issue. When we got there, it was empty. The Saturday morning crowd was not out yet but soon would show up. We had a great table, middle of the restaurant and Caleb helped us out. He was very nice and took care of us. Ivory also came out and greeted us. We chatted a bit about how we liked the food. We got boudin balls with fries. The fries were amazing, just regular fries. The boudin balls needed a little work but Ivory was very receptive to feedback. Mimosas were good too. I had the cranberry, it came in a carafe. We finished 2 of them between the 3 of us throughout our meal. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Grits were excellent, shrimp was a little salty but if I mixed with the grits, worked out well. We had the endless catfish and amazed that it just kept coming. Also ordered a special priced wing and waffle dish that was 2 wings and a waffle, a little snack. What can I say? If you make the trip you'll be glad you did. We did come right after a large group just ended a birthday celebration, so it was mad crazy and loud on arrival. However the owner and staff were apologetic and quite welcoming. Once seated, service was pretty quick. My friend and I actually were a little indecisive about what to order- so many great choices. We opted on the all you can eat (can't believe that's an option) chicken and chicken & fish meal, which comes with a side of red beans and rice & greens. My word, those greens were delish- red beans, not so much. The chicken wss delicious, and the fried catfish was ok. Some pieces had that "muddy water" taste I'm not quite sure the cause when I try it a various restaurants. We also ordered the martini flight, which is a cute play on words because it comes with oxtail meat and rice, shrimp n grits and a Cosmo all served in glasses. They also have bottomless mimosas for $20. Note: Happy hour (at least on Saturdays) is really just for the food not the drinks. If you opt for cocktails those will run you about $17+ , so it kinda forces you to get the mimosas. Another note, they're made with Brut champagne and not sparkling wine for those who might have a preference. All in all, a really fun spot. The music was AMAZING and the chef is HILARIOUS. I came for Sunday brunch, I came back again to try their oysters and then came a third time with my cousin for their fried pork chops. Baybehh when I tell you everything that I've put in my mouth at this establishment has been phenomenal! For Sunday brunch, we ordered the catfish and grits, oxtails, Now while the food is amazing, I have to be honest the service is not up to par. I've been here three times in the span of a month and the service is extremely slow. They appear to be short staffed most of the times which can be frustrating for customers. We went to CuVee's for Mother's Day Brunch, and it was DELICIOUS!!! It's located in a shopping strip so the parking is free. We were greeted when we first entered and showed to our table. Our waiter was very polite and explained the menu to us since it was our first time. He also explained that there was a 90-minute table limit. I ordered the Oxtails with red beans and rice and collard greens. My husband had the All You Can Eat Chicken with red beans and rice and collard greens. My daughter had the All You Can Eat Fish and Grits. Everything was delicious. The food was seasoned well and the portions were just right! We also had the Oyster Rockefeller and they were big and fully loaded. The service was excellent and the owner/chef came to the table to see how everything was going. The only drawback was the unlimited mimosas. Each person at the table had to buy their own unlimited mimosa package instead of being able to share one carafe. Also, I think they use half a bottle of champagne and fill the rest with juice, which makes them too sweet. Most restaurants use the entire bottle of champagne in the carafe. I found the restaurant on social media and was instantly excited about the menu offerings. I made a reservation on the easy to use and convenient app. I arrived on time and was immediately pulled from the line and seated. They came with 4 chicken wings (flats) which I appreciated because I don't like when the chicken is strips. The chicken wings were seasoned and fried to perfection, as were the catfish strips. Just the right amount of batter and seasoning to be crunchy but still flaky and melt in your mouth delicious. The greens were to die for!!! Cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I added a few dashes of hot sauce and they hit the spot. It reminded me of my childhood and I longed for some good cornbread to sop up the remaining pot liquor . But I digress lol. My girlfriends and I came here for a girl's brunch. I had seen some reviews on IG and I love trying new places. The food was very flavorful and priced appropriately. My favorite items were the fried fish and shrimp fondue. While there were some combo entrees not paired together, they had a la carte items avail. There was an in house saxophonist and he did an amazing job. The service was slow and they were understaffed. They also have a two hour time limit. This is the best Sunday Brunch spot! We got there at a perfect time (11:30 a.m.), right before the crowd rolled in and I'm so glad we did. The food was made to order, fresh, and absolutely fantastic. Stopped by CuVees for Saturday brunch after an event at a nearby church. Someone else made the reservation (which I recommend doing because it's an intimate restaurant with good food). A bit of housekeeping: located in a center with lots of options for parking. The restaurant is cashless with the exception of tipping your server. Cuvées has a wonderful brunch menu with options that offer unlimited servings (at the time of this review). They also offer mimosas and cocktails. Several of us ordered a carafe of mimosas. As an appetizer we tried the chargrilled oysters--they were delicious! I tried the Chilean sea bass with Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. A Caesar salad preceded the main course. Everything was seasoned. The sea bass was decadent and rich topped with shrimp and butter. Everyone enjoyed their food! I'd definitely return and come hungry. Jackson lost his battle to lymphoma on October 11, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. This is why it has taken me some time to review my experience with CuVee's and Chef Ivory. As a Yelp Elite Gold Member and attorney, I take feedback seriously. I aim to be fair, honest, and accurate in recounting what transpired. For my 40th birthday, I planned a large celebration with a live wrestling show at my home on October 12. I invited 50 friends and family from across the country to mark this milestone. I requested quotes from local caterers on Yelp, and CuVee's responded on September 4, asking me to come to the restaurant for a consultation. I was simply seeking catering options and pricing, but Chef Ivory insisted we meet in person. I scheduled a consultation for September 5 at 1 p.m., despite the two-hour round-trip drive from my home in Champions. When I arrived at the locked restaurant at 12:55 p.m., I called the number on the building. No answer. I left a voicemail, sent a message through Yelp, and eventually found another contact number online. Chef Ivory finally answered and directed me to a side door. This lack of preparation was frustrating and should have been my first warning, as it was the first of many such instances leading up to the week of the party. During the meeting, Chef Ivory sketched ideas on a notepad and assured me he had a large, capable team to deliver an amazing experience. His pitch included two action stations--pasta cooked to order and Philly cheesesteaks featuring authentic Philly buns--during the wrestling show, followed by a dinner buffet with fried catfish, wings, mac and cheese, greens, cornbread, and funnel cakes for dessert. Excited by the menu, I wanted to sample the food. Chef Ivory invited me to brunch, advising me to come early at 10 a.m. before it got busy. He promised to arrange a reservation for me and friends, asking me to text his personal number. That afternoon, I texted him as instructed, but received no response. After following up on Yelp, he finally confirmed a reservation for September 14. I attended the brunch with two friends, including one who is a well-traveled foodie. We ordered fried catfish, wings, red beans and rice, greens, mac and cheese, mimosas, and oysters. The fried catfish and tartar sauce were outstanding, and the mimosas and oysters also stood out. The greens, beans, and cornbread were average, while the mac and cheese was solid. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and spent about $250. Chef Ivory checked in on us a few times, and I reminded him I still hadn't received the catering estimate. He apologized, citing a last-minute Prairie View event for 800 people. Despite multiple excuses, I finally received the estimate on September 18 after persistent follow-ups. I immediately confirmed CuVee's for my party and ordered custom Philly rolls from a friend in Philadelphia for the cheesesteak station. Chef Ivory emailed confirmation the same day, stating my event was on the calendar. Based on this, I finalized other party details while caring for Jackson, whose health was rapidly declining. The week of the party arrived with no updates from CuVee's. Concerned, I emailed on October 9 about logistics. His response was devastating: "Justin, when I didn't hear from you, I thought you went in another direction. This late of date staffing is almost impossible. If you can possibly move your time back, I may be able to work something out. Or maybe even drop food off. My apologies for the confusion. Hope things work out." I was shocked. He had confirmed my event weeks earlier. His failure to follow through left me scrambling for catering just two days before my party. I rushed to various businesses, trying to piece together a menu while spending less time with Jackson, who passed away the night before the party. The stress and heartbreak of losing my beloved dog were compounded by this unnecessary chaos. Ultimately, CuVee's sold me a dream for my milestone birthday and failed to deliver. Chef Ivory's poor communication, repeated excuses, and apparent prioritization of higher-paying gigs caused immense stress and disappointment. I was so excited to try this place. The staff was really nice and helpful. But the food service wasn't as good. It was about 7 of us and we all ordered at the same time. But the food came out all over the place. The wings weren't cooked all the way and the fish and grits took almost 45 minutes to come out. Everyone else had their food and ate but two of us only received our side of potatoes no fish and grits, which shouldn't take any time to make.
