I found F.B Chefs through Yelp and I am so so pleased that I did. I emailed Lionel months before my husbands 30th birthday to coordinate a birthday dinner for 4 in our home. Throughout the planning process, Lionel was always quick in responding to questions and helpful in guiding me to a rental company for a beautiful dinner table set up of fine china, crystal glasses and sterling silverware. His menu options were perfect for my husband who can be a very picky eater. My husband and I are big foodies and have been to most of the top restaurants in Houston, Lionel's cooking was as good if not better than the best in town. Every course was absolutely delicious! The mussels were perfectly cooked, the caprese salad couldn't have been any better and everyone's filets were cooked spot on. He made a carrot purée that we have been talking about for days! On top of the amazing food, Lionel himself was as personable and friendly as he could be in addition to being extremely knowledgeable about the food he was serving. Each course came with an explanation of the ingredients and where they were from. I hope to have Lionel back in my home again soon and will be recommending him to everyone I know in the Houston area. Chef Lionel was hired for my sisters 50th birthday dinner. Him and his team did an amazing meal! During this time of Covid19, it has been hard to actually enjoy a "night out", much less a delicious meal. Chef Lionel brought that night and meal to us. First and foremost, him and his team followed all the safety guidelines and were masked the whole time. The food was EXCELLENT. From the very start of having light appetizers, refreshing salad, to fresh fish, Filet Mignon to the Lobster tail..........Chef Lionel ended this with a scrumptious dessert....Banana Fosters Creme Brulee! Wow where do I start?!?! Chef Lionel was SUPER professional, on time, and his food was AMAZING!!! I hired him to cook birthday brunch for my girlfriend and her friends (a party of 7) and everyone was pleased! Our menu consisted of shrimp and grits (the shrimp was super fresh!), lobster and waffles, fried chicken and waffles, and a fruit melody with this sherry based sauce (YUM!!!) Of all things I've paid for in my life this has been my favorite investment. I wanted to celebrate my 40th in a special way and bring the dining experience in home for my guests of 18. I interviewed several chefs but I connected with Chef Lionel the best and trusted his experience. He and his team were above and beyond, more like over the moon awesome. He hand picked an amazing charcuterie board. This was followed up by fresh red snapper ceviche, spring salad, grilled octopus tail, ribeye steak, and finished with bread pudding. I was even more impressed when I learned where he sourced all his food from locally, which was not a grocery store. He even catered individual meals to my chicken and veggie friends. The food was so fresh and delicious. My guests cannot stop talking about his food. Everything was cooked in my kitchen, he plated the dishes beautifully, and cleaned up. Chef Lionel is terrific! He helped us set up a surprise dinner for my parents' anniversary at their home, and it exceeded all expectations. Prior to the dinner, he offered up various options for the menu, all of which looked great - tough to decide. Arrived right on time, ready to go. The food was amazing, and Chef Lionel made it an enjoyable and memorable experience with his great personality. We enjoyed Maine sea scallops seared and served over a beet risotto, crab claws in a butter sauce, shrimp seared and served over a sweet pico de gallo, fresh fish with hand cut pasta, rack of lamb with potato squares, crackling pork served over sweet corn risotto, and then strawberry zabione for dessert. He was also terrific with our three kids, accommodating their less experienced (picky) food preferences with some tasty pasta. It was fun to listen to Lionel discuss the ingredients and their preparation as he prepared each course. Everything was fresh and delicious. At the end of the evening, he cleaned everything and left the kitchen in better shape than when he arrived. This is a great way to have a fun evening without going to a restaurant. In fact I think we all preferred it. It's been a while since we were visited by the Chef. But we had a wonderful experience with him. He came over and was willing to work with me to surprise my husband by updating me on his arrival. The surprise failed, but that was my own fault and he was a great sport. He has a great personality and is very knowledgeable about the food he brings and prepares for you. We learned a lot that night about meats and cheeses. One of the best things about the experience was how easy going everything was. There was nothing awkward about it. He came in and started talking to us and cooking and the time flew by. He is not only a chef, he's a hospitable server. He took care to refill our drinks when we were low and clean around us when we finished a plate. The portions he cooked were huge, and certainly enough for more than one meal. We had the lamb and cracklin pork chop. Both were very good. And for dessert he made bread pudding. Everything tasted delicious and it was really a wonderfully pleasant evening.
