The sides didn't rescue the meal. The cornbread was dry, the mac and cheese was mediocre, and the atmosphere felt lifeless during our visit. The meat should have been the star of the show; instead, it was the biggest letdown. The staff, however, were wonderful--warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They deserve credit, and the service was easily the best part of the experience. This wasn't an inedible meal. It was an underwhelming one from a restaurant I used to enthusiastically recommend. Two stars reflects this visit, and I hope the kitchen gets back to the standard that made me love this place.

They checked to make sure there was not alcohol in the bananas foster pudding (I don't drink anymore), and there was, which I so appreciate. The gentlemen serving the meet was patient and really hooked me up! Most importantly, holy crap it was amazing. The ribs were so tender and flavorful. The brisket was moist with a great bark, and the sausage had an incredible snap, perfect heat and was so rich. The bbq sauce was so great I went home with some! I understand that I came close to closing time, but I still paid full price and should receive the same quality of food as any other customer.
