What a great find. I was in town for business recently and several people locally kept recommending this place for great barbecue. It definitely was amazing. I guess they are known for their chicken fried steak.. and full disclosure if I ever see that menu, I'm always gonna get it. The problem with getting chicken fried steak usually is once it gets hit with the gravy. It becomes kind of soggy.. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case here every bite it was as crispy as the first it was perfectly cooked.. The food came out amazingly quick for to go order and the person working there was extremely friendly.. I had the 2 meat plate with moist brisket and ribs. The brisket was tender with a hint of smoke. The ribs were huge and also very tender with a nice light rub. Don't expect deep smoked meat. It was tender and the breading was good, but the gravy didn't hit like I wanted it to. The brisket is a hard pass. It needed the sauce or gravy (almost pot roasty). I ordered a size that looked appropriate for me but once I got it to the table it was a huge disappointment. I went back and order a cheeseburger and two more sides just to have enough for lunch. Some say that's the best part, though the "steak" inside is super thin and some parts barely had any. So looks could definitely be deceiving because it looked large but there wasn't much substance inside to fill you up. Bf actually ended up eating most of the whole thing. The batter was seasoned well - but the gravy was definitely what made all the flavors. The hot tots were good - though I would've liked to see them a bit crispier and less mushy inside?
