Stuck in a mechanic shop on a rainy day, it was suggested that Eats Mesquite will deliver. They were only a couple of blocks away so I gave them a try. I got my food pretty quickly. The burger was good! Plenty to eat with a generous portion of seasoned fries. My company had used them to cater a function a few years ago. As I recall, we had BBQ. I have eaten here a few times over the years and don't know why I don't return more often. It's a solid breakfast and lunch place that serves good food at reasonable prices. I think it closes at 3 p.m. Mon-Sat. Counter service has always been friendly. For lunch today, I took advantage of one of their standard lunch specials. It was the 1/3 lb. regular burger with fries and a drink for $7.39 or $8 including tax. A nice plus here is that they will grill your onions for free which I took advantage of. The dining rooms were very busy at lunch but I was still able to find a table quickly. This place caters to the numerous light industrial and commercial employees that work in the area. After getting my drink filled at the self service drink station, my food took about 10 minutes to get ready. Here they have a self serve fixings bar with lettuce, tomato, raw onions, etc for you to dress your burger which I did. My burger was very good in taste and the grilled onions only added to it. It was plenty large and with the hot and season coated fries was a filling meal and for a total of $8 an excellent value. Their menu offers other meals here for lunch including fajitas, steaks, other hot and cold sandwiches, salads, etc. along with a full breakfast menu. I must remember to come here more often and will! P.S. The Filet of Fish sandwich combo is $11 but the sandwich is large and the grilled fish very good in taste. read more

I'll keep it short and to the point, the service was quick, I chose the Friday special ( fried shrimp, hush puppies, fries and slaw) 9.99 it was really good the shrimp were large and lightly breaded fried crisp but still juicy and tender on the inside, the fries were hot and crisp also I will say the slaw was a bit bland but was definitely fresh, the hush puppies were probably the best I've ever eaten.... dont tell my mom I said that but they were seriously good. When coming here for the first time ever i was perplexed on the scenery, the inside was amazing and very clean. However when looking at the inside of the kitchen i saw all sorts of grease stains and black mold spots on the wall. Figured it was fine and ordered a burger anyway. The burger i got was completely undercooked and somehow still bloody on the inside. I asked for them to recook it and they refused until I asked to talk to mark the manager. Mark, was a huge jerk and insists i eat a undercooked bloody burger. I refused and left. From the couple of bites I did force myself to eat , I was pleased to find out that I received food poisoning and had to take a trip to the hospital. I am sure this place got me sick because this was my cheat day from my salad diet I have been doing. My second time here, in as many years. Had a burger the first time around and thought I'd bring my co-workers here for the Tuesday Special of Chicken Fried Chicken. It was OK, but I'm a lover of this dish and I've tried a lot of versions from various establishments. It wasn't bad, but I have had more memorable plates. I have never had French bread sitting on a plate of something that is supposed to be "country cooking". A roll, a biscuit, a slice of Texas Toast, some corn bread, but never French bread! That gets a thumbs down, indeed. It tasted just like what you would grab off of the shelf at your local grocer. It wasn't even dressed up with butter or garlic. The kicker for me and my brethren was the very think layer of batter on the chicken. The gravy overwhelmed the batter almost immediately, making it soggy. If you've ever been to Kelley's Country Cookin', you know what I'm talking about. I haven't been there in several years, but now I feel I have to be redeemed. Went with a large group for lunch when working in the area. We are on the early lunch crew so we got there at about 11:15 am and found easy parking, no line, and a large enough area for us to sit as a group. After our orders were placed it wasn't a long wait for our orders to come out of the kitchen. Service was very good. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. While not as cheesy as I'm used to getting up in the north east, it was still enjoyable. I would definitely get one the next time I'm in the area and it also would have worked well as a to-go item.
