I never knew this little gem existed. Especially for 35 years! The vibes felt like I was back in the 70s with the spaghetti western movie posters I ordered the breakfast burrito. Tasted wonderful, the grilled onions and peppers made it really stand out. The service was fast, like Fuddruckers. Can't wait to come back!! read more

On a business trip to Houston and needed to find a quick breakfast for six of us. I've always liked local diners so we stopped by. It's definitely got the local Dino frills diner vibe when we walked in. The prices are really good. Just about anything for about $10. I ordered the 2 egg, grits, toast and bacon for $9.99. Not a bad price but honestly not a lot of flavor. The grits were very bland. Had to salt and pepper the eggs. Not bad but it's very basic. read more

So I've been driving past this place for the last year and the reviews looked good so I decided to try it. I went in the afternoon for lunch and had a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. The staff was extremely friendly and it was country decor looking like it should be in a small town, so far I'm really enjoying it, when I got my food, I was a bit disappointed, first it was extremely well done and dry, which is a complete turn off for me. The flavor of the Mesquite was really good, but there was zero seasoning on it as far as I could tell overall the burger tasted like rubber meat, definitely tasted like it was a frozen patty. Now onto the fries, which tasted like they had been soaking in salt brine for a long period of time, I ate two or three of them and that was all I could take. I'm thinking I will go back for their breakfast because their breakfast seem to have the highest reviews, but I will not be ordering a burger there again. I hope to bring you some better news next time. read more

Food is great, awesome catering service. I use them for local corporate training meetings and they are unmatched with delivery, set-up, and tear-down. We went for lunch on a Saturday and tried the mesquite grilled chicken and mesquite grilled ribeye sandwiches. They were both really good and you could really taste the mesquite flavor. The seasoned fries are curly fries and are tasty. I really like the toppings area, so you can add your own veggies and condiments to the sandwiches. We met Marq, the owner, and he was very friendly and made a great recommendation for entrees. They also have lots of parking and are in a location that's easy to get to on Hempstead. read more

Came here for lunch with a coworker. Parking was easy! Pricing is excellent, and they have good options of food (chicken sandwiches, burgers, etc). I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and my coworker got a burger. It was basic, but hit the spot. They have a bar to get the salad, onions, condiments... The burgers/sandwiches came with curly fries and a drink. Fries were good for sure. Service was quick and would definitely recommend. read more

Super friendly staff. They made pancakes during lunch time. My boy loves this place and I do too. We will definitely be coming back when around the area. The menu has a good variety of items that we will be trying the next time we are back. And we were told they deliver too if you want to order and have them bring it to you. The prices will be different for delivery though. Great little place! read more

I had a great breakfast sandwich and really friendly service, can't wait to go back for lunch!

Stuck in a mechanic shop on a rainy day, it was suggested that Eats Mesquite will deliver. They were only a couple of blocks away so I gave them a try. I got my food pretty quickly. The burger was good! Plenty to eat with a generous portion of seasoned fries. My company had used them to cater a function a few years ago. As I recall, we had BBQ. I don't remember what I thought of it, but obviously there was nothing wrong with it. I would definitely eat there again. read more

I normally eat here on days I'm at work, but its soo good I had to bring my kids and they love their food and the staff. Update: Food is still as amazing as I remember. The owner and his adult kids that work there remembered me and my kids. Absolutely love my Eats family!! Don't forget to hit the if you find my review helpful. Thanks read more

I have eaten here a few times over the years and don't know why I don't return more often. It's a solid breakfast and lunch place that serves good food at reasonable prices. I think it closes at 3 p.m. Mon-Sat. Counter service has always been friendly. For lunch today, I took advantage of one of their standard lunch specials. It was the 1/3 lb. regular burger with fries and a drink for $7.39 or $8 including tax. A nice plus here is that they will grill your onions for free which I took advantage of. The dining rooms were very busy at lunch but I was still able to find a table quickly. This place caters to the numerous light industrial and commercial employees that work in the area. After getting my drink filled at the self service drink station, my food took about 10 minutes to get ready. Here they have a self serve fixings bar with lettuce, tomato, raw onions, etc for you to dress your burger which I did. My burger was very good in taste and the grilled onions only added to it. It was plenty large and with the hot and season coated fries was a filling meal and for a total of $8 an excellent value. Their menu offers other meals here for lunch including fajitas, steaks, other hot and cold sandwiches, salads, etc. along with a full breakfast menu. I must remember to come here more often and will! P.S. The Filet of Fish sandwich combo is $11 but the sandwich is large and the grilled fish very good in taste. read more

This is a real sad excuse for a buffalo burger. What's more ridiculous is that this is $15 for the meal. I mean look at this burger patty is smaller than my knuckle, and I have some small hands! What kind of nonsense is that?! The burger also tasted very bland just like the fries. Don't waste your money on this joint! read more

Eats ok. I literally work a block from their place and rarely go there for lunch. I've tried their breakfast tacos, french toast and ribeye steak sandwich and the only thing I can recall being half-way decent is their ribeye steak sandwich. Their food to me, is real bland. Tacos are a no go to me. I rather go down the street to Marcos or the taco shop 1/4 mile down the street from them. At least you will taste a properly cooked tortilla. Lol. French toast was forgettable. The ribeye sandwich was ok, I had 2 thin ribeye slices with lettuce and tomatoes. Fries were ok as well. But that was it.. Just Ok. read more

worst ribeye i've ever had. crappy cut of meat. they should have left it in the street longer so at least it would have been tender. Service was good. read more

Stopped in today for lunch.... I'll keep it short and to the point, the service was quick, I chose the Friday special ( fried shrimp, hush puppies, fries and slaw) 9.99 it was really good the shrimp were large and lightly breaded fried crisp but still juicy and tender on the inside, the fries were hot and crisp also I will say the slaw was a bit bland but was definitely fresh, the hush puppies were probably the best I've ever eaten.... dont tell my mom I said that but they were seriously good. If your in the area give them a try.... I've eaten here several times trying several different menu items and have never been disappointed. read more

I pass this place on the way to work everyday and it is always busy so I decided to try it out on a Saturday around 11am. It is a family owned small restaurant with a great variety. We just came to Houston for a wedding and we stopped in here for breakfast. The spinach omelette was delicious. Fresh ingredients

Been here a few times for lunch. Food is always good. The burgers are well seasoned, bread is fresh, fries are very tasty. The grilled chicken sandwich is one of my favorites. My only complaint is the cleanliness, it would be much better if they put more attention to cleaning all surfaces, tables, soda machine, etc. read more

Had the spinach omelette. The veggies were very fresh, but disappointed when we asked for salsa and were handed a packets of La Victoria picante sauce. If there was a fresh homemade salsa- it would have been 5 star omelette. My husband had the breakfast tacos and the tortillas tasted like Mission tortillas. Nothing exciting with the tacos either. Fresh homemade tortillas make a difference. The staff and atmosphere was pleasant. Just think the food could use a few extra homemade things to be an excellent go-to breakfast place. read more

I wonder if these guys have any idea of just how AWESOME they are. I started eating here in 1999 (when they were in the old place) and it was delicious then...quality, taste, service, all as good as it has been if not better. I almost always get the sloppy baked potato with chopped beef. It's a meal and a 1/2 for like $8. Love it! Delivery is fast. I've only had one problem in 16 years of going here and the manager took care of it immediately. Haven't tried their breakfast but for sure they're great for lunch! read more

You want a burger and fries? You got it. While there are other good items on the menu, like the philly cheese steak, the lunch special of burger, fries and a drink for $7 (recently raised from $6) can't be beat. My second time here, in as many years. Had a burger the first time around and thought I'd bring my co-workers here for the Tuesday Special of Chicken Fried Chicken. It was OK, but I'm a lover of this dish and I've tried a lot of versions from various establishments. It wasn't bad, but I have had more memorable plates. The dish came with the entree, a side of fries, a bowl of corn, and a slice of French bread. French bread?! Are you kidding me?! I have never had French bread sitting on a plate of something that is supposed to be "country cooking". A roll, a biscuit, a slice of Texas Toast, some corn bread, but never French bread! That gets a thumbs down, indeed. It tasted just like what you would grab off of the shelf at your local grocer. It wasn't even dressed up with butter or garlic. The kicker for me and my brethren was the very think layer of batter on the chicken. The gravy overwhelmed the batter almost immediately, making it soggy. If you've ever been to Kelley's Country Cookin', you know what I'm talking about. I haven't been there in several years, but now I feel I have to be redeemed. Next time I'm just stick to the burger at Eats. read more

Chicken sandwich meal is awesome!! Very friendly family staff. Very consistent. Been here at least 30 years.

When coming here for the first time ever i was perplexed on the scenery, the inside was amazing and very clean. However when looking at the inside of the kitchen i saw all sorts of grease stains and black mold spots on the wall. Figured it was fine and ordered a burger anyway. The burger i got was completely undercooked and somehow still bloody on the inside. I asked for them to recook it and they refused until I asked to talk to mark the manager. Mark, was a huge jerk and insists i eat a undercooked bloody burger. I refused and left. From the couple of bites I did force myself to eat , I was pleased to find out that I received food poisoning and had to take a trip to the hospital. I am sure this place got me sick because this was my cheat day from my salad diet I have been doing. If I were you on your lunch break around here; steer clear, it will get you so sick you can't even return to work for days. Don't even risk it. read more

Great Food, for low prices. Loved it!. Good value & quick service, would definitely recommend.

Went with a large group for lunch when working in the area. We are on the early lunch crew so we got there at about 11:15 am and found easy parking, no line, and a large enough area for us to sit as a group. After our orders were placed it wasn't a long wait for our orders to come out of the kitchen. Service was very good. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. While not as cheesy as I'm used to getting up in the north east, it was still enjoyable. I would definitely get one the next time I'm in the area and it also would have worked well as a to-go item. Definitely filling. Also got an order of the fries. So good! Very crispy. By the time we left around noon the place was almost full. So it pays to eat early. read more
