The old school charm that Mytiburger (#1) exudes is appealing for a number of reasons: a retro interior frozen in time, prices that feel like foodflation never happened, and a simple, no pretense approach to comfort food. It hasn't been an easy road since the business began nearly 60 years ago. Current owner Shawn Salyers, made a plea on social media nearly 2 years ago that his business was on the brink of closing, which eventually went viral. For days the restaurant was packed with lines out the door, and the hype was enough for me to give it a try for myself. I wasn't disappointed and have been back several times since. The food is hardly glamorous and the presentation leaves lots to be desired. But in its visual flaws, there is a certain beauty to its simplicity, and this is perfectly captured in its Mytiburger classic burger. A signature beef patty with mustard, pickles, onion, with mustard and ketchup, there's absolutely nothing fancy about it. Throw in a cheese add-on with fries and it's a solid meal. Then there are the other options: chili cheese fries, stuffed jalapenos, and homemade onion rings. These all serve as quality complements to an otherwise otherwise hearty meal. Breakfast should not be slept on either, since their hash browns are crispy and buttery and has become a must-eat portion of my rotation. The service is friendly but not always efficient. Expectations should never be too significant, so keep it realistic. Cash only is better than credit card, and parking is rarely an issue. Myti burger as a kid I shared soo many memories here, I enjoyed coming back to my roots, but I must say the restaurant needs a upgrade. The mytiburger I knew always smelled like good food, but now it seems much hasn't happened since I moved on and traveled which saddens me. I think it's time for an upgrade with new appliances and the kitchen deep freezer is just unacceptable. The works smoke cigarettes, which lingers the smell in mighty burger. I enjoyed the food overall, but I do feel like it's a bit skeptical coming from a person. That's really skeptical about eating at certain restaurants. Old school burger place, it is so old that they don't have a handicap friendly entrance and restroom. They have a very simple menu. The restaurant feels like it is stuck in the 90s. When your food is ready, you go back to the counter and pick up the food yourself! The burgers are good, it has the nostalgia flavor. read more

The building itself is a little worse for wear but I was very pleasantly surprised with my meal. Just got a 1/2 lb burger combo with bacon and cheese. Everything was great, fast, and VERY affordable. My bill was $10 for everything, in 2025 that is a rarity, in fact it's less than you'd pay at McDonalds for a similar combo. The fries were crinkly which is a bonus, and the burger was fresh, hot and flavorful. I'll absolutely be back to try the breakfast and other menu options. I'm very glad I dropped in! Like many other locally owned businesses, they were not immune to the pandemic and economy slowing down business. A group of fellow foodie friends and I came here to check it out for ourselves. We arrived around lunch time, but it seemed like their breakfast was the popular item. I almost pivoted from lunch to breakfast, but decided to go with that I came to try. Per usual, I went with a pretty basic burger for my first try. I ordered a Bacon Mytiburger with fries and a fountain drink. The wait wasn't long, and the food was hot and fresh. At first glance it looked like a substantial burger, but upon close inspection, the bun was thick and the burger patty was somewhat on the thin side. That being said, throw another patty on there and this burger would've been perfect. The meat was seasoned to perfection and all the toppings were fresh. It had a wonderful, homecooked taste about it. The bacon gave it an extra pop of flavor as well. The fries were pretty plain. It could've used a toss with some seasoning but they do have those options on the table. It seemed like the rest of the crew liked their food as well. What I also loved about this spot was the super affordable prices. I thought my meal was a bargain. I'm more of a biscuits and gravy person now. I now live in the area myself at a much older age. My grandma and grandpa are no longer here. I went in for pure nostalgia and was just thoroughly impressed with how NOTHING has changed in like 20 years. If I could give this place a "0" I would. Just had the worst experience at Mytiburger. They got my order wrong yesterday, and when they told me to come back today, the owner refused to correct my order because yesterday's cook was not there to verify. Mind you, I asked to speak with the owner yesterday and leave my name, but he wouldn't come to the phone. He then asked the teenage cashier to call the cook at home. Why couldn't he (the owner) honor what his employee told me. ***HORRIBLE ***** I'm not understanding. All the employees use one glove , what it looks like only the right hand , and the left hand is bare. (No glove) and they grab the knife with whatever condiment you choose with the right hand (gloved) and then grab your burger bun with the left hand (ungloved) then they spread the condiment. Place the bun back on the stove top or placemat . Then they grab the bacon and other toppings with the left hand (ungloved) . Not one employee but all employees are doing this and the owner is not even wearing gloves to prepare food. And also they all have a bad habit of wiping there hands on either their apron or their uniform . And then when no food is being prepared they clean up the restaurant which is part of the job. I think ya get the point. And I haven't seen one person wash their hands. I was towards the middle/ end of my meal when I noticed this. So I stayed to watch other people's food get prepared. They need a drive thru so they can have more business. The mytiburger is better than whataburger hands down. Add a couple of french fries and ketchup inside it and then cut it in half. Two people can be full on it. The fries are fat and perfect. The breakfast meals are enough for two petite people. The place is clean and parking is easy. I swung by for dinner earlier this week. I have eaten here before but it's been a few years and I don't frequent this area often. I ordered their 1/2 lb. burger with fries and a soft drink. It was a slow night as there were only 4 other diners in the restaurant. The food came out about 10 minutes later. The burger was big, dressed well and a solid eat. The 1/2 lb. of meat consisted of two 1/4 lb. patties. I liked the sandwich and rated it as a 3.5. The fries however disappointed me as they were your basic non descript French fry that was boring and unfortunately is found at so many restaurants (2). Getting on my soap box for a minute I don't understand why so many restaurants like this that have french fries as such an important part of the menu don't put a little more time and effort into serving better fries...hand cut, double fried, skin on fries, etc. there are too many hamburger, po boy, fried fish, etc. restaurants that serve fries with the meal that skimp on the quality of fries. To me it is a very important part of the meal. Ok, one minute has passed.... I understand that Mytiburger is somewhat of a Houston institution. Like I said my burger was good and I would order it again. It looks like breakfast is popular here also. Another observation I had was that while this restaurant is old and a little worn, it is kept clean.
