I came here today on May 14th 2025 with my girlfriend after we were extremely disappointed in Luby's for not having the fried fish I ordered the brisket, the ribs and the sausage with mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and the Charles beans everything was spectacular. Delicious food great service incredible interior. I felt at home like I was in a laid-back Honky Tonk the music was great 10 out of 10 everything Hats off to management and to the owners Nothing more to say me and my girlfriend will definitely be back in the future Thank you, Harris County smokehouse for keeping it real . God Bless. -Santangelo Balli Gonzales

We had a great breakfast at Harris County Smokehouse! I ordered the pork ribs and eggs with grits and swapped the bread for a pancake everything was yummy. The ribs were a little overcooked for my liking, but still flavorful, and that sausage... perfection! My partner had the mac and cheese, and it was so creamy and full of cheesy goodness. The pancakes were on point as always fluffy, buttery perfection. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, and of course, we can't forget the free rolls and cornbread always baked fresh and a nice touch. Always a solid spot for a hearty, down-home meal!

A closer look at the left over "sliced" brisket, and store bought potato salad. (-_-)

Never in my life have I received sliced brisket from a dining establishment that looks quite like this. The audacity to serve my husband this leftover disaster is simply unacceptable. While he may not be well-versed in the BBQ scene--being from another country--I'm certainly no stranger to BBQ, and I must say, this is very disappointing. Especially when you consider the high standards of Texas BBQ! Won't be returning.

Ribs, brisket, Brussel sprouts, broccoli.

$50 for brisket that is incredibly dry to the point I can't eat it, veggies that sat in the dry pan so long they were brown and no cornbread muffins. Plus, poor customer service. My husband got snapped at when he asked for half brisket and half sausage and the guy heard 1/2 pound sausage. When my husband corrected him, he got rude. $50 wasted.

Free boiled peanuts, sweet rolls and cornbread with your meal. Very Texan vibes throughout. Food was great and staff was polite. Overall the food was decent for breakfast foods. they have very generous portions We both ordered the meat lovers omelette and the pancakes, they were good and I like that they have sugar free syrup also. the rolls and bread is complimentary and fresh I would definitely go back and try the bbq it smelled like goodness! Bye for now :)

Peach cobbler, 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket, fried okra, mashed potatoes.

We had to stop and get some bbq while in Houston and this place did not disappoint!…read more I loved the system where you would order at the counter and they would get your plate all ready for you in front of you. Very efficient and fast. We got pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken (my favorite) for sides we went with Mac and Cheese (extremely good) and their corn! We split the plate between two people and we still had leftovers so a great deal! Staff was friendly!

After the three-taco dinner, I honestly struggled to reconcile what was on my tray with its Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. The biggest problem was the one thing a barbecue restaurant needs to get right: the meat. It arrived cold and lacked flavor. The tacos fell apart as I ate them, and nothing about the taste made up for that. I've had considerably better tacos from food trucks. At a place with this reputation, I expected much more. The sides didn't rescue the meal. The cornbread was dry, the mac and cheese was mediocre, and the atmosphere felt lifeless during our visit. The meat should have been the star of the show; instead, it was the biggest letdown. The staff, however, were wonderful--warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They deserve credit, and the service was easily the best part of the experience. This wasn't an inedible meal. It was an underwhelming one from a restaurant I used to enthusiastically recommend. Two stars reflects this visit, and I hope the kitchen gets back to the standard that made me love this place.

They offered an assortment of goods and items that are great for gifts and for your own home. I can always find something of interest in the store. I also love that they tend to carry items that are a little more boutique and local which makes it fun to browse. A lot of people visit for the barbecue. If I recall, when they first were serving BBQ it was a smaller, more limited time and they've since extended those hours. When visiting there is plenty of street parking in the area. They have expanded the seating inside since when they first opened which is nice for those not looking to takeaway food. Food & Drink - 4.25* The counter for ordering is in the back. I definitely recommend getting an assortment or a plate. Sausage and brisket are both solid. The sides are good too. I did notice the quality maybe dipped a little as the hours expanded, but it's still a very good option to some of the nearby establishments down the road or over in the North Main area that tend to have giant queues. When I was working downtown we'd swing over here quickly for a lunch. Feel free to grab anything to drink from the coolers as well if it catches your interest. Service - 5* Solid. We've spoken directly with the owners when visiting and it's evident they care deeply about their store, their customers, and the community. Definitely support your local businesses!! Cost - 4.5* Always subjective. I think for what they offer, how clean and well organized the shop is, it shows. They keep prices approachable. Overall - 4.5* Personally, I think it's a great balance of quality, convenience, and an assortment of goods that make it interesting. If you're in the area or live nearby, walk on over and check it out.

I always had it saved on my favorites and kept it because I knew I would want to go to get the real experience of the location. I finally made the trek over to the actual location and they did NOT disappoint. They're not open everyday. I got here and the line was pretty long. The line was long, but they are literally making plates to order and really fast. Impressively fast. The brisket was a little over cooked, but the chopped brisket, ribs , sausage, potato , potato salad and green beans all were fire. Hence the review still getting 5 stars. The ribs were tender. Fell off the bone. Even at the moment I don't know why that potato was so big, but who am I to question such delicious foods. A note for me mainly and anyone else who enjoys sauce get the sauce on the food and some on the side. Or make sure you get extra on the side. In comparison to my meat portion I needed way more sauce. Maybe 2 cups instead of one. I didn't get sauce on my food. The customer service was good, the guys were helpful and made the food so fast. Definitely worth the trek over here. Thank you Triple J

It's really really nicely rebuilt inside this place, when it used to be a church. I do like their rice bowls, but it always comes with 6 bites of rice and 3 bites of protein. Service was quite prompt, since we were part of an event. Lastly, I disagree with their offering of their beer garden as a private event option when this place has 4 fans in each corner of the room, strong indeed, but better be strong because it has no AC. It's Houston, 90+° on average, 6 months of the year. Ugh.
