So I've passed this place for more than 100 times in my 5 years working on this side of town. So I decided to try them out. My coworkers and I came here and order a series of platters. I ordered the 4 meat combo and doubled on the meat. Which is confusing. Why offer a 4 meat plate but only serve three meats (ribs, brisket and sausage) so I was curious to know what the single portion of brisket was so I convinced a coworker to order the 2 meat. So now to the part you're wanting. The meat is HELLLLLLLA dry and old!!!!! I understand a lot of the meats are prepped but it's been drying out toooo long!!! The ribs still had membrane on the back of the rib and the brisket was damn near an inner tube. The sausages were undercooked. More like all the meat was steamed and not smoked. This counter service bbq restaurant is located on Cutten close to the Beltway and Hwy 249. I've eaten there twice. First of all this is primarily an outdoor restaurant that has tables with umbrellas covering them in a rustic farm type setting. Fortunately there is a small house next to it that offers indoor seating and is cooled and heated along with restrooms. The exterior and interior decor is quite cute and is a major point for eating here. Whoever did the decorating did a good job. My first visit was for a brisket sandwich combo with chips and a drink for $10. This sandwich had plenty of sliced brisket on sandwich bread. The meat was a little tough but my biggest complaint about this meal was the bread. After adding some of their tasty table bbq sauce the bread gave away almost immediately and this became a knife and fork meal quickly. I am surprised that the chef would use regular white sandwich bread as it never had a chance. I wouldn't order a sandwich here again as long as they use sandwich bread. Big mistake. The price was right but the food wasn't (2). A couple of weeks later I returned to try a 2 meat plate of ribs and pulled pork with sides of beans and potato salad for $14. This meal was much better. The first thing I noticed was the quantity of meat as it was a very generous amount. The two ribs were large, meaty and tender. Also the pulled pork with their bbq sauce was good tasting too. The beans only consisted of the beans and sauce but had a pleasant taste and the mashed potatoes were of the mustard flavor but mellow in flavor. For $14 this was a lot food and I enjoyed all of it (3.5). The prices here are reasonable and serving sizes above average so there is value to eating here. The meats and sides are all acceptable just beware of ordering a sandwich. They should really consider going to hamburger buns or Texas Toast to solve that problem. The decorations are very rustic Texas theme oriented and you will enjoy them. However on both of my visits I sat inside due to the flies! read more

Everything was amazing from food to price to ambiance to customer service! We ordered two plates- one with brisket and one with brisket and ribs. The brisket was perfectly seasoned and juicy. This is my 3rd visit here and I have to tell you it is amazing. 1st visit ordered brisket and sausage easily one of the best BBQ meals I have had. 2nd visit I tried the ribs which were good but on the 3rd visit went back to the Brisket and Sausage absolutely top notch. The BBQ and Potato salad are excellent. It has a nice patio area where you can sit out and eat and there is a lady selling home made desert which I did not try but my friend did and he loved it. The portions are huge and the price is very competitive. If your in the area and your hungry try this place out you will not be disappointed I promise! read more

It wasn't terrible; the potato salad was the best part. The beans were more like chili beans instead of baked beans (which is what I was expecting). Hours are limited - 11a-3p on Wednesday - Saturday so plan ahead because it's worth it. Fantastic BBQ! We got the brisket, ribs, and sausage and all of it was perfect but our favorite is the brisket! Super low prices too- large portion of meat plus potato salad, beans, bread, and drink for $10! Sides are fantastic too. The woman who waited on us was so friendly -like visiting family. Food is delicious. Brisket was a little too fatty, but the sausage and ribs were great. We were early so it took only a few minutes to get our food. We finished our food by the time we got our drinks because the line got longer, and from what I saw there was only one person working. The man who worked here was friendly and helpful. I would give 5 stars if they had another person working to bring out drinks or if they had a self serve station for drinks. Overall, the place is very cute and the food is great. I stopped by this new gem today, and tried out the brisket and ribs. Both meats were incredible, with and without the sauce which complimented the meat perfectly. We met the owner Ed who is extremely friendly and just offered the warmest hospitality. They are open Wed-Saturday.
