This is an unexpected find. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The inside was clean and open. We had the Gumbo bowl . It was good but a little on the salty side. On the other hand. I ate the whole bowl. Shrimp Po Boy sandwich; the shrimp was fresh, cooked well and tasty. The sandwich needed a bit more quantity in the condiments. Next time I will try the recommended etoufee. Overall I am giving this a 4 star due to the slight miss on the sandwich and the gumbo. I will try it again and hopefully raise my rating. read more

Son was hungry. He wanted a Catfish PoBoy. I really care for anything here, but first mistake was not reading my first review. I ordered very thing I said was great. Crawfish Pie and some sauce in a cup. I was raised in LA and I know good Cajun food. The pie lacked taste and that sauce taste the China crawfish without Crawfish. I had fried Boudin Eggroll. It wasn't bad at all. Can with a Sweet Sauce. Actually good, fried crispy with a great wonton type skin. The staff are so nice and they did have BBQ this time, but didn't read my review. Cajun Street is a Tomball restaurant that's easy to find and plenty of parking is available. Inside it's a counter service eatery that serves both Cajun and BBQ food items. Recently I have dined twice and here are my experiences. My first visit was to order the 3 fish and 3 shrimp meal that also comes with fries and hushpuppies for $16. After getting my drink at the self serve station my meal arrived about 10 minutes later. The fish filets were thick and well battered and along with the 3 big shrimp tasted very good. Their fried seafood here is worth the visit. Along with the fries and dense and flavorful hush puppies, it was a satisfying and filling meal. The next visit was for the shrimp etouffe' meal for $15 and this meal took about 10 to arrive. It was a large bowl with 8 large shrimp surrounding a portion of white rice with a milk chocolate brown thick roux. I didn't care for the appearance but the food was very good taste wise. The grilled shrimp and roux were delicious and I would order this again. During this meal an employee informed me that they actually sell more bbq here than Cajun. That surprised me since it appeared to be a much more Cajun oriented restaurant. She brought me a complimentary sample to try of sausage, brisket and a rib. I liked all 3 and may order some bbq in a future visit. However I really like the Cajun food here. Hospitality is also very good here with friendly employees. I will come back. read more

Came here on memorial Day to get some good sea food. We had heard great things and were super excited to try it. They were not busy at all, which I think was just due to the holiday. Everything we ordered came out fast and super hot. We got catfish, red beans and rice, gumbo,dirty rice, and fried shrimp. Overall-every was good, but my absolute favorite was the fried shrimp. I will definitely come back and order that again. The prices are really reasonable for seafood and we enjoyed everything! read more

Ok I'm giving it 5 stars because the food was good. But, I think it would be better with homemade sauces. The ranch and tartar needed help. When you have great fish and chicken and dip it into subpar sauce, it really takes away from the bite. The atmosphere was great, lots of tables and inviting. Cashier was really accommodating and she served the food and sauces. She might need an assistant!! Menus are already posted but I'll add the BBQ menu. Chicken and fish were good. My husband and I tried this place and were surprisingly delighted. They have both Cajun food (mostly seafood related) as well as BBQ. I got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was delicious and the grits were seasoned perfectly! We will definitely be back. A little pricey, but worth it! read more

Wanted to try a local place and fish sounded good tonight. It was close to my hotel so very convenient. I ordered the 3/3 platter which consisted of three fried fish and three fried shrimp. It normally comes with fries, but I substituted mac & cheese for a dollar more. The total was $15. The store was roomy and plenty of places to sit. The restaurant is well lit, clean, and music playing at a normal volume just for background noise. After looking over the huge menu full of inviting dishes, I decided to try a few items for my first time here. I ordered the fish and shrimp poboy, fries, a crawfish pie, and an order of boudin balls. The poboy came with what seemed like full servings of both shrimp and fish, stuffed and overflowing with expertly fried proteins, with the right amount of condiments and toppings on a roll the perfect size to hold it all in. The batter on the seafood was well seasoned and bold, but not overpowering, and the fish and shrimp were both pulled from the fryer at the right time to maintain their tender juiciness. The fries were great, battered and fried as most Cajun places do and lightly seasoned. The boudin balls were some of the best I've had. Crispy fried on the outside, and moist and juicy inside. The boudin itself was heavily seasoned and the sausage flavor came through everything. Etoufee came as dipping sauce for crawfish pie and it was a spectacular surprise that I dipped pretty much everything in. The crawfish pie itself was good but for me it was nothing spectacular. Not bad at all, but those boudin balls stole the show. The men's room was clean and didn't stink at all. They need Tabasco, only had Louisiana and Cholula. They did find one bottle that had just enough for my meal. But c'mon, it's TABASCO! Total bill for everything with a drink was just under $25. All in all, definitely worth a trip to try them out. First time here, and we had the two-piece catfish plate. The fish seasoned well and was very tasty. The hushpuppies were on the sweet side and also really good. I like that the fries were thicker than most fries. I also ordered an extra side of Cole slaw. The Cole slaw had more mayo than I preferred, but I didn't mind because it tasted good also. Most of time we can agree we get food delivered for lack of time and it's not always the best especially with having it delivered so temperature is off and depending what it's put in as well obviously effects the taste. The food we had here was great. I had the boudin balls with a sort-of southwest ranch dipping sauce and the shrimp Étouffée. Nice big Gulf shrimp grilled perfectly and just the right amount of rice. GF had the shrimp and grits, also very good. I'm not a fan of grits, but in this case, I was impressed with the amount of flavor in these grits. I would be tempted to order them on the next trip out here but have to try the BBQ ribs and a cup of gumbo. The garlic bread that came with the shrimp and grits was good and fresh. French fries come with a light dusting of Cajun seasoning on them that was way better than the expected plain salted fries you get everywhere else. The place looks small from the outside but is much bigger once you get inside. Very clean and the staff is friendly. It would be 5*s but they don't offer alcohol of any kind. It was lunch time and was wanting a beer, but no such luck. We will definitely be back and who knows, they may get a liquor license in the future. All we had to eat and a soda each (free fountain refills) we got out of there for $40. Cheap enough for the quality & quantity of the food. read more

Ordered take out. Had the grilled fish with shrimp and dirty rice. It was very good.. The fish had good seasoning and was cooked perfectly! The shrimp were the size listed on the menu, and the dirty rice (or "rice dressing" as we from Baton Rouge call it) was very good too! I ordered through Uber eats so I don't know nothing about the ambiance. When I called to find out about some menu items the lady who answered very helpful, she didn't rush to answer and provided good examples and shared her personal feedback which obviously helped. I ordered fish with dirty rice, and the creole candy wings with fries. The packaging was good enough to where my food was hot on arrival. The fish was light and buttery. I'm biased to straight corn meal breading but this fish was good enough that I would order it again. I wouldn't order the dirty rice, I'm not a fan or the target audience... I'm also biased to non breaded wings, but after speaking with the young lady who answered the phone I ordered them anyway. Glad I did.. they were heavily sauced (which I prefer) and still crunchy but yet tender on the inside.. I want to try other flavors to see if they are consistent. I saw on UE that there was a bogo offer on the fried catfish. For that reason alone I am giving 2 stars. My honest opinion of the catfish, they forgot the Cajun part. There was only parsley sprinkled on top of the breading. That is DECORATION!! The portions were wry disappointing. I had 2 orders and the 4 pieces that I had may have been the equivalent of 1 thinly sliced filet. The red beans and rice were literally black. The hush puppies were cooked way too hard.
