It is very difficult to serve below average crawfish in HTX because the competition is so intense but this place truly has the worst seafood boil I've ever had! Crawfish tastes like a combo of tap water and melted butter (and I got the Tex mex seasonings!), and the shrimp was salty and dry. We were so disappointed in this place. The shrimp and grits were outstanding. Loved the ingredients mixed in with the shrimp and grits which gave it amazing flavor. They have Crystal as well as Tabasco which really kicked the meal up a notch. We received our saladr and dinner almost at exactly the same time so it was a bit overwhelming and would have preferred to have had the items spread out a little more rather than everything at once and waiting for everything to arrive at one time. Our wait staff were very friendly and nice. super personable and could speak both Spanish and English. The atmosphere is a blend of Texas and New Orleans just like the name but it does lean on New Orleans Louisiana for atmosphere. There are regional drinks found in Louisiana that can also be found here. My spouse found that her Margarita was a little too sweet but not a real big problem. We got seated a little before 5pm on Easter. We looked around and didn't see any of the complimentary chips until 20 to 40 minutes after sitting down. The table near us (arrived around the same time) received two and another table that got seated after we received the our food received one. Every time we asked for a status update, the staff said they didn't see any. After a while, someone came by to explain how they've run out of chips. They were running a $35 for 5 lbs. of crawfish promotion, and it came out at 5:30pm. I ordered the super greens salad with the sauce on the side, which had to be remade because the waitress saw the sauce had been added. We asked for the salad order to be canceled, and the waitress said it depends on if they've made it already. A waiter came by to drop the salad off at 5:51pm. It did taste good and didn't have any wilted pieces. The salt from the blue cheese, sweetness from the minced candied pecans, and tartness of the dressing and sliced grape tomatoes melded well with the curly greens. There seems to be a bit of disconnect between what the kitchen has ready and when staff should come by to pick food up. Th crawfish were mostly medium sized with a few larger ones. The Bayou flavor feels powdery on the hands and light on the tongue. The rice is 50 cents a cup and was kind of hard, which was kind of understandable as it's usually for soaking in gumbo. One of the metal parts of the outdoor patio chairs was kind of sticking out, so it snagged on my pants. Sitting in the patio was kind of chilly. It was busy but only 2-3 small groups were waiting at a time. We had to retrieve a roll of napkins for our table when food finally arrived. When we asked for a fork, it arrived quickly in its paper bag. Upon opening it, it had caked on stringy remnants. The staff were friendly when you had their attention yet were inattentive while away from the table and only seemed to pay attention to their tables. read more

Service was lacking , the waitress never refilled our tea which is funny because it's $3.50 a glass .Had to wait for a box to go along with a tea Togo. Saw the waitress to order , deliver to food , another person dropped off the bill . When she came to collect the check had to remind her again about the container to go . Came her for a Saturday lunch with my husband. I had been to another location before and really loved their gumbo. We tried their boudin balls, a fried fish platter, and gumbo. Of course we also had to have a frozen beverage as well... Never pass up a frozen beverage... Anyway- the gumbo was not quite as good as I remembered, but everything else was super yummy and filling. I've been coming to the BB's Tex-Orleans location on 249 for over a year, but unfortunately this visit completely changed my opinion. I ordered the Bayou Blessing boil, which includes crawfish, shrimp, snow crab, corn, and potatoes. While eating, I discovered a snail sitting in the boil that clearly did not belong in the dish. Seeing that immediately killed my appetite. I brought it to the manager's attention hoping the situation would be taken seriously. Instead, he asked what I wanted him to do about it, and even made a joke saying that "everything here is edible and delicious." Finding something like that in your food is not funny and should have been handled more professionally. To make matters worse, the only thing taken off my bill was one $5 drink, even though I stopped eating the meal entirely after that. The response felt dismissive and did not reflect good customer service. After supporting this location for over a year, this experience was extremely disappointing. Been here a handful of times usually on the weekend for dinner. I went last night on a Saturday evening around 8pm. We stood there a while until someone seated us. The server took a while to get our order so they brought us chips and quest while we waited. The food is decent, but in my opinion overpriced. I never get the boiled seafood, but I hear it's good. Other than the boiled food, there really isn't a lot of options to choose from. The shrimp and grits is my favorite. The Texas Twister is my fav drink and strong, but in a good day. Service was very slow and was kind of annoying and we didn't get checked in until the end when we were ready for the check. They need more wait staff. read more

For me it's a no brainer ESPECIALLY with the price of crawfish, I'M NOT spending good money on flavorless crawfish. We were in the Willowbrook area and willing to travel, however there's always a BB's nearby and the vibes are always vibing! They are not just great for crawfish, Cajun food as well. This Tomball BB's offered a free appetizer of chili beans /salsa, I'm guessing that's what it was...shoots all I know is that it was free and saved us money on paying for an appetizer. I come here often, and lately, it's been super busy with an hour-and-a-half wait every time. The wait times have been insane, even though there are plenty of empty tables. I'd really like to understand why that is--I also see quite a few servers around, so I'm not sure how this system is working. I came into the restaurant to pick up my order of crawfish 7lbs total. I drove an hour home and the food was not correct. I called I did not initially get a positive response over the telephone and was prepared to get a full refund. The manager John not only remade my order he made it right. Then i watched him lick his fingers after placing a fruit garnishment on someone's drink. He didn't wash his hands and began to shuck oysters which SHOULD NOT BE DONE BY THE BARTENDER. Ended up using a reward for free boudin balls instead. I still have time to use my birthday rewards. I got the alert to pick up my food. The location was nice and bright, we should come here to eat inside sometimes. The bar was small and crowded but it was Friday afternoon. Food: I went away from normal and ordered the fish and shrimp tacos. They were good and had plenty of slaw which is how I like it. I did not like the boudin balls. Glad they were free. They were very fishy, almost like they were fried along with the seafood. The taste was very unexpected and I only ate 2 of the 6. They had a great deal and it was $35 for one crab cluster, 2lbs crawfish, 8 shrimp and corn and potato. Very flavorful but the crawfish are still small. It's Fat Tuesday, and I came here to celebrate. What a celebration it was; I enjoyed the camaraderie of the staff and patrons. I listened to the band on the patio and had a few drinks before deciding to head home. I must say that for a very busy evening, it wasn't a wait for tables or food. Of course, I ordered takeout on the way out. I decided on the fish fillet with shrimp, fries, and coleslaw. I added a bowl of red beans and rice, which had a lot of flavor, and huge chunks of sausages. You know most places you go to will give you red beans and rice without the sausages. My niece ordered the Shrimp and Oyster Po boy and was delighted, too. Let's say we will be back for the food and the place! It's such a cute restaurant. First time out in 3 months after having a baby and all I wanted was some crawfish! I absolutely am so picky about crawfish and this was THE best my husband and I have ever had. They had a special of 3lbs crawfish and 2 crab clusters with corn and potatoes for $45 and of course we were treating ourselves! I had a watermelon margarita...forgot the name of it but it was fantastic. Service started out spotty as multiple servers walked by us and we were left ungreeted. Only negative I have to say about this place is service could have a little more pep in their step when taking care of tables (as a fellow server/restaurant manager of many years) but Tiera (hope I spelled that right) completely made up for it! She was attentive and personal and took care of us even though we weren't originally her table. She noticed no one had greeted us and helped us get started but by then we were already ready to order so we told her to just keep us at that point. 3 out of 5 stars is the best I can give you. There was no cayenne pepper in that crawfish etouffee. I guess they ran out of it during the day, and subbed it for black pepper. If they did put it in, it was hiding from me like the Rougaroux. I'm sorry, but crawfish etouffee is my favorite Cajun dish, and it needs to have cayenne pepper in it. I would add some Louisiana hot sauce as well, just to add a little bit more flavor to the dish. The Caesar salad that came with it was good though, and I liked the complimentary beans and chips that came to the table. You have potential. Just put a little more hard work into it. read more

Was not sure about this place but It was great! Ordered take out fried shrimp for my sons and they were so pleased. When I picked up the service was really friendly and quick. I got home to very hungry boys who were very excited with their dinner...DAD DID GOOD! Fried shrimp, fries, hush puppies and coleslaw were all very good. Over an hour wait on Friday night, which I would be okay with if we hadn't been told 30minutes when we came in. Then to see people magically get sat when us and another couple, separate from us, started asking questions after the 45 minute mark. We were each told there are 2 tables ahead of you. But another miracle happens, and hostess is able to seat 4 more tables in that span of time. Stull not even the other couple just ahead of us. Now I start to look around the dining room, and there are so many empty clean tables, as well several dirty tables. This now appears to be a staffing issue. We are more than an hour into our wait and we are not leaving. We are sitting right behind the hostess stand and the irate customers are letting these 'children' know how unhappy we all are. Absolute catastrophe. They finally seat the couple immediately ahead of us, then guess what... you know it, they seat another table. Finally The hostess calls us up,we stand up and they grab the menus to seat us, but not before another lady comes storming up and makes a big deal of her and her party's 'over an hour 'wait. Just like several others, But this lady, obviously more important than the rest of us,makes such a huge scene that the hostesses (2 of them, ) panic and leave us standing there and seat the loudmouth. I am not a scene maker, but come on... really? The two hostesses realize what they did, offer ZERO apology and try to find us a table. We are sat outside, it's a nice night so no issues with that, but service is slow tonight. Again I think staffing issues. At least our server, Bryson, looks to be a seasoned server and on the ball, and probably even more stressed about how downhill his night is looking to be going. We order our drinks and appetizer, and thankfully Bryson is what I originally observed, on the ball. He takes our order and we chat up a bit about one of their side dishes, a very strange sounding Mac and cheese. I am hoping the food and Bryson can turn this very negative review around, at least bring it up from its pending 1, only because zero is not an option. As I sit here though, I notice the couple that were right before us are still sitting at their table looking around, and no food. Not necessarily a promising sign because even though they were technically right ahead of us, another table and the loudmouth table got sat too. So it's been a hot minute since they have presumably ordered. Ope ! They are complaining to their server right this minute, ticking off the very valid reasons they are pissed, I don't blame them one bit. I also don't think it's being handled by anyone, there does not appear to be a 'manager" type around, if there is a management team on site, they are pretty bad at their job. This is the part where a decent manager would be making the rounds trying to at least acknowledge and make right whatever terrible excuse they have for tonight. Well, that couple left, that's a shame, they put their name in at 6.23pm, I know this because we were 6.25. It's now straight up 8pm and they are over it. I'm also secretly also hoping that loudmouth and her party are getting lousy service, I should take a stroll thru the dining room and check, but why? It's not like I have anything to gloat about, we still haven't gotten our appetizer. The boudain balls arrived and they are good, . I could use more heat, but they are a nice mild spice for my hubby (he can't can't handle a smidgen of spice.) We enjoyed them. So the food arrived correctly (again. Thank you Bryson) it was just fine/good. Nothing that would bring me back, but I also didn't order anything hard to prepare, just fried foods. Bryson did a better job than this restaurant deserves, I don't imagine he will stay there long if this is how the average Friday night goes. So, because of all that, they should get a zero, but because of Bryson, AND ONLY because of Bryson they barely eek out a single star. My wife and I visited this location, and unfortunately, our experience was far from great. We waited an hour just to be seated, and once we were, our assigned waiter never acknowledged us--not even to introduce himself--despite actively serving the four tables around us. Thankfully, a young lady noticed us waiting and took our drink and food order, assuring us that our waiter would follow up. That never happened. After another 30 minutes of being ignored, I flagged down the same young lady to cancel our order and explain our frustration. She called the manager over, who was very apologetic and even offered to comp our dinner. However, by that point, we were uncomfortable staying, especially after having to complain about the waiter. In the end, the manager could only offer a free appetizer voucher for our next visit. Given the circumstances, I feel a comped meal for a future visit would have been a more appropriate gesture. Needless to say, this experience left a bad impression, and I don't think we'll be returning to this location. read more

While we waited we were not greeted by manager, nor given any explanation as to why it took so long. While waiting we had to listen to yelling between servers in the kitchen area. Also, when I was given food, there were there was no silverware on the table and the waitress disappeared for over 10 minutes, so I got up and went to the bar to ask for silverware and the bartender handed me Plastic utensils. When I went back to the table, our server was there so I thought I'd ask her and then she comes back from the kitchen and hand me another set of plastic utensils. Imagine it being your birthday and ordering dinner which was over $30 now is cold and having to eat with plastic utensils. Inside of the building is hot and sticky. It seemed as though the staff wasn't getting along and it clearly showed to the patrons. It seemed like forever for us to get waited on, and it started when we walked in the door. No one wanted to take responsibility for seating us much less getting us water. The waiter finally came, then disappeared. It was very unorganized. I have been to this restaurant before where it was great. However, even the food wasn't up to what you would expect. It was not a good experience at all. Messed up my order and the day after I realized I never got my hush puppies. The cost for the food was not worth it. The shrimp I ordered was grayish color and had a hard fishy smell. I was extremely concerned because I was in town and the Bestman for my friends wedding and was praying that I didn't get sick. I feel like I was robbed.
