I've been here several times and I finally have to say this is my favorite place for fried fish! I love the fact we can pick between catfish or tilapia. The staff are always nice and friendly. The menu is easy to navigate and if you have any questions or concerns they are more than happy to answer and help. The location is in a strip mall and please don't let the area or outside fool you. Apparently the manager is also not available (as in staff wont even give the name of the manager) This will be my last time which is sad bc the food is good.. I called ahead two combo meals, they told me 10-15 mins. I get there and they tell me that one of the combos i ordered i cant order the way i did so they hadn't even started my food.. then they charged me 6$ more for the exact same combo i always get.. then the icing on the cake is they gave me one combo meal and told me the other would still be 10-15 mins. Today, Monday for lunch to-go... Unfortunately, we had a very bad first experience with them. We ordered online, only to find out when we got there that our order wasn't ready and had been "lost". So, we reordered to go and turns out that they only got half of our order correct. What we got tasted good, but my shrimp gumbo only had two pieces of frozen prepared shrimp and more rice than gumbo, when I asked for no rice. We called to rectify the issue with the manager but they said that we'd have to come back for a refund, after we had already waited there due to the order that was lost online. Food is good....but once they hand you your food and you even take another breath, step over to the side and check your food. Don't just open the bag and peep in, don't let them open it and show you. I mean open it like you're about to eat and thoroughly check your food. I ordered three different plates (myself and coworkers) and quickly checked my food. Get back and work and open my food and start eating, not realizing I was missing a whole crab cluster. I had ordered a 1lb shrimp, with corn and a cluster. I think it's the duo delight. It was like $25..anyways I call up there thinking it could easily be resolved. The person I spoke to made it seem like it wasn't an issue at all. I had to send a coworker back up there along with the receipt. I get a FaceTime call from her saying they want to see my plate. Okayyy... showed them the plate, but they still wouldn't give her the food I didn't receive. She ended up getting into it with them. I called back and they basically was like oh you'll have to wait for the manager to come. I call again, later that night and was able to speak to the manager. She was better as far as customer service but told me I couldn't get it until tomorrow because they will be closing in 30 mins. To make a long story a bit shorter, after showing my receipt and signing some paperwork (literally) I was able to get my crab cluster and was given 1/2 lb of shrimp I guess for the trouble. I've tried this place a few times since visiting Humble. The crawfish a tiny but full of flavor. The shrimp are a nice size & good. I love spice & ordered both spicy they were right on point. I peeled the potatoes & doused them with the spicy sauce. Everyone enjoyed the corn as well. A couple of people tried the sausage & loved them. I was also overcharged and when I asked for a refund no one there knew how to do it or was given instruction by the non-present Manager on how to do it. Had to leave on a verbal promise that the non-present Manager would process my refund the next day (yeah, okay!) Its now 3 days later and I'm still waiting. Food was subpar, the sauce was flavorful but watery. There was no butter in the seasoning either because apparently to have that luxury in your seafood boil sauce, you need to pay an extra $0.50 to receive it. So long story short, I was visiting from out of town and really craved a delicious seafood boil as my first meal after arriving, but since this experience I'm positive that the next time I come to Houston I definitely wouldn't consider going back to 7Spice again. If I could give this place 0 stars , I would. First we got here and got greeted with ,"you ready to order?" Second, my shrimp was under cooked. Thirdly, there was literally paper in my shrimp fried rice. Last, but most certainly not least my blackened catfish was so salty , I caught a head ache immediately after. I told the assistant manager after she made my shrimp over that all the food was just over all horrible. I try not to make complaints like this but this awful. The manager came to the table the second time and looked at the food , threw it away. She came back moments later and told me I couldn't get a refund and walked off. This is where me trying to eat the food anyway and not be a complicated customer get me. She never never replaced any of my food she threw away . Literally returned to the table . From bringing my family and friends here to ordering hundreds of dollars worth of orders for my job when we do Luncheons. This place will NEVER get another penny from me. I've been missing out for sure! A friend recommended this place to me so I came here during the week around 2-3pm the crowd started coming in a little after 3pm. Considering this was my first time here I was impressed and the waitress was so polite and offered me some samples to try because I can be indecisive when ordering. I was debating on the gumbo and etouffee to try along with my boiled shrimp, corn and potatoes. Now, the gumbo was pretty good but the etouffee I wouldn't order. The boiled seafood combo comes with approx. 9 head-on or ez-peel shrimp (nice size) 3 potatoes and 1 corn it was a perfect deal and it was around $8 most places charge you by the pound and you have to add the corn and potatoes separate. The garlic butter was magnificent and was a great addition to the seafood. I cannot wait to come back and visit. Great food and affordable prices. read more
